Researchers from Japan looked at both men and women and found men who consumed less than 238 mg of Magnesium a day compared to men who consumed more than 327 mg of Magnesium a day. Those men who consumed the higher amount(327 mg.) had a 35% reduced risk of colorectal cancer. No protective effects were seen in women. Magnesium has been added to the list of other nutrients and foods that benefit colon health, conjugated linoleic acid, vitamin B6, green tea, fiber, olive oil, apples, omega-3 fats. Researchers concluded that higher dietary intake of Magnesium may decrease the risk of colorectal cancer in Japanese men.

Pre-Workout , Workout, Post-Workout

I am always interested in new products, especially sports nutrition ones. MRI makes two products called: Black Powder(Pre-workout) and War(Workout and Post-Workout). I take the Black Powder 30 minutes before my workout and I am full of energy, muscles look more vascular, stronger without feeling fatigue afterwards. The War product helps with the stress that is being put on your body with ingredients such as glutamine and an Amino Acid blend which helps with recovery. I really like these products, I just turned 40, but Black Powder and War make me feel like 20 while working out. Remember, always follow the directions and the warnings.

Immune boost for my son

My son recently was diagnosed with mononucleosis, he is 7 and 1/2 years old and is a great eater and hardly ever sick. This virus really has made him fatigued and upset, however, he is on his way to recovery. I normally give him the VA essentials multivitamin for kids and Carlson DHA chewables for kids and since cold and flu season began daily dose of Culturelle. Since being diagnosed with Mononucleosis the conventional treatment is rest and fluids and treat the fever if present, however, I want his immune system to get stronger, in addition to his normal regimen mentioned above I added a product called: Sambucus for kids. This product contains: Elderberry, Echinacea, Propolis and also extra Vitamin D3. He is doing great, more energy and no fever and on his way to a full recovery hopefully.

Oscillococcinum

We all know about the seasonal flu and H1N1 by now. I was feeling sick about a week ago and immediately I took oscillococcinum for the recommended two days(3 times a day, every 6 hours). My illness lasted about 4 days total and it did not progress. Of course, I ate right(fresh homemade chicken soup) and made sure I was hydrated everyday. My son was sick and I gave him the same regimen and his lasted about 3 days and was in uniform for his soccer playoff game. Conventional medicine and alternative medicine is not 100% effective, however we have some choices available to us that have alot of research to support their uses(conventional and alternative medicine). Remember always check with a healthcare professional(Doctor, pharmacist) if you need assistance with medications or supplements.

Immune Boost

Since it is cold and flu season, I like to take certain supplements to boost the immune system. In addition, at bedtime casein protein is the protein of choice because of it is a slow-digesting protein which prevents muscle breakdown during the night. It functions both as an antioxidant and an antitoxin and is a major defense system against illness and aging. Our glutathione level actually indicates our state of health and can predict longevity. It has been suggested that in the future, GSH levels will be closely monitored. There are over 70,000 medical articles currently published on GSH, yet most health professionals have only a vague idea of its significance. In the near future, the importance of glutathione will be widely recognized.

MAXGXL

Q. Increased stress, unwise food choices, and the lack of quality sleep are other agents that damage cells and drain energy. Glutathione optimizes energy production inside every cell in your body by extinguishing free radicals and restoring cell quality.

Immune System - Immune system cells need glutathione to function properly. Your bodies immune system arsenal of T-cells, B-cells, and white blood cells (lymphocytes) need glutathione to perform at an optimum level.

Cellular Detox - The human body is under contstant attack. In today's polluted world, toxins are found in food, water, and the air. Glutathione is one of the principle components to neutralize and dispose of these toxins. If your body lacks glutathione it is unable to detoxify itself. Your immune system, endocrine, and nervous system all become imbalanced, which in turn can lead to many health challenges.

Peak Athletic Performance - Glutahione plays a principle role in creating energy and helping your body utilize oxygen. Abundant glutathione levels allow your body to recover faster following strenuous exercise and neutralize free radical production that occurs naturally from exercising. The quicker you can recover from exertion, the quicker you can return to activity. Glutathione can serve as a keystone to your athletic success.

Fight Cellular Inflammation - Uncontrolled inflammation is at the root ofmost major health issues ranging from heart conditions to joint and muscular discomfort. Glutahione offsets the effects of inflammation at the cellular level. Because glutathione is present in every cell of the human body, it can regulate inflammation throughout the body.

Liver Protection

The liver is the body's largest internal organ, milk thistle, an extract that may help regenerate liver cells. People with MS have shown lower levels of vitamin D, therefore these patients should have their vitamin D levels checked. If their results show a deficiency, supplementation of vitamin D would be helpful, therefore work with your doctor for the appropriate dose.

Zyflamend

Tumeric is natural anti-inflammatory spice, which has shown in animals prone to Rheumatoid arthritis prevent them from developing the disease.
