Have you guys ever found a designer that truly defines who you are? I have found my! I am in love with Charles Anastase right now. His collections are very unique, whimsical, and individualistic. Also, above these qualities it is feminine and fairy tale like (almost gothic in a sense but not really. Than again it is not really fairy tale...but it kind of is to me....geez what am I saying lol.)in its own eccentric ways. I will post more picture on his collection tommorow~ For now, please enjoy ^^.

Street Fashion: Japan Part 1

These photos are from a Japanese street style magazine Fruits. I always find that most people in Japan have a talent for layering/mix and matching. Not only are their culture fascinating-everyone on the street in Japan have their own unique style. Its also interesting how that different street/area of Tokyo have its own particular style. Eg. Ginza=rich, designer, upper class, and business men/women area, and Shibuya=young, trendy etc.

I can't draw...this is something very well known among my friends. But, I felt creative today after reading Garance Dore 's blog(you guys definitely have to check her blog out! I love her writing). I really admire Garance's style of illustration. There is this simplicity/truth about her drawings, yet it is very "fashionable" at the same time. So, I decided to give it a try and see if I can produce something decent. I am often jealous of how people can easily in quick seconds draw out wonderful images. It takes me hours to produce presentable art.

One of the hardest part I find about drawing clothes are folds. They are so difficult! (well...for me they are). I often ask a very talented friend of my on how to draw folds-she says I simply have to follow the lines and the flow of the clothing. But......well....I did..and it never worked out for me.

This is the detail video of Chanel Spring 2010. I love how this video was shot! Usually for videos like this I would only skim through it. But, the eerie and enchanting silence of this was very calming and made me focus on what Karl is trying to present. I especially like the flower details around 1:26 and 2:56. It made me squeal when I first saw it lol.

Freja Erichsen presence in this video was amazing. I dare say that....(well to me) she is much more handsome than Baptiste Giabiconi in this video. Lol if I am ever into girls, I will definitively fall for her.

One day I will definitely be able to afford Chanel XD.

My favorite model from VIVI magazine: Jun Hasegawa. She really brings out the clothes she models in. I want to buy whatever she wears lol.

The white fur jacket she is wearing in this shoot looks really nice. I was thinking of buying a fur jacket before, but I am afraid that I'll drown in it or its going to make me look big.
One day! I will find a perfect fur jacket for myself haha.

Hi everyone! I think I will be starting this blog again. I was discouraged before because I was still in high school and had to worry about graduation. Now that I am in university and with a job (money=clothes!!!!!), I can finally buy clothes according to my style. However, I will be putting up very little pictures of me in outfits until...I loose 8 more kilograms (17.6 pounds). I already lost 5 kilogram and hopefully I will loose more. Until then, please bear with me >.<. If I manage to loose more pounds, I will make a post on my diet plan. But anyways..onto today's post. Lately, I been obsess with chain bags. Side bags, hand bags, totes...you name it XD. Instead of studying for my coming exams, I have been shopping for my ideal chain bag over the internet. I think my obsession partly has to do with that I will not be getting my own Chanel 2.55 anytime soon... After many hours of searching, I found/decided on these two bags:
This is the Marc by Marc Jacobs Mirror Heart Evening Bag in gunlock color

Japanese brand:Luz Llena studs and gold chain mini shoulder bag

I was torn between these two, since I can only get one bag. The Marc Jacob retails for $35 USD (love the price <3) in the Marc by Marc Jacob store in New York. But, since they are sold out of this special edition bag, I will have to buy my from Ebay wich costs around $57 USD (still a not bad price). The Japanese studded bag will cost me $45 and with shipping fee, it will be around $68. It took me 3 hours to decide on a bag....even thou I should be studying.......... Both of them are two way bags. I can extend the chain and sling them over my shoulder or wear them as a shoulder bag. I ended up choosing Marc Jacobs in the end. I love the studded chain bag, but compare to Marc....well Marc wins. I guess I will have to somehow convince my parents into buying the studded bag for me as a Christmas present. Well anyways, I have to go back to study for my exams now. To everyone who are still in highschool and are graduating soon-don't be so excited....there are more work to do when you get into University. <3 Angel

conceptofjen here. My first post! Will try to post lots but I'm kind of slow at photoshop and well physics often sucks the life out of me.

I just realized that most of the pictures are actually of leggings.... I hope you'll understand. Anyways, leggings and tights are so perfect right now that the weather is colder. I think it is freezing in Vancouver. Then again, my house never has the heater turned on and I do have to bike to school and feel the wrath of the icy wind...

Kingdom of Style sewed the coolest leggings ever. I have to find some nice fabric and attempt this. Has anyone tried making tights before? I have an idea of how to do it, I'll post about it when I finish it.

I'm sure you have seen these Rodarte tights. If only I could crochet or knit.

One DIY I'm sure I can make are Anya's leggings in this Sartorialist photograph. Just snip regular leggings or tights with scissors and maybe dab in a little liquid seam sealant. Now I just have to go buy some cheap leggings and will most defiantly post the results.

Moschino's Spring 2009 made my top fav list this year~! I really like those sunglasses, they are very cute and funky! I also like the 2 pink jackets above, I will kill for that pink frilly one XD.
Moschino makes me want to add a bow to all my clothes and i really love the colors Moschino chose! Especially the one on the 9th row, second picture, that purple looks amazing with that black!!! I really like this line because most of Moschino's clothes (except the puffy ones) look very flattering on any body type! It stretches your body and makes you look slim!~~
which i think is what everybody need!!...well i need it haha

Gonna post the fall 2008 tomorrow! I have to go do homework now T.T......

Marc Jacob wearing heels for a reason!

lol a lot of news on Marc lately. For the finale during his Louis Vuitton show in Paris this season, Marc Jacobs came out in Rick Owens boot/heels.

Why? because he wanted to feel how women suffers for fashion and to feel taller!

"I don't always wear high heels," he explained, adding he feels empathy for women who do. "I always get nuts when women go, 'Oh, men don't know what it's like — women in heels, women in skirts, women in dresses — what it's like to suffer for fashion.'" He continued, "Although I've always wanted to be taller, which is the real reason I wore them, I also thought I can show that I, too, will suffer for fashion."

How was the heel proccess?
"It wasn't really suffering at all. It was a pleasure to be able to achieve a look that I wanted to look like." Jacobs added he has no problem walking in heels and his feet hurt at the end of a long day even if he's wearing sneakers. "I like wearing skirts and high heels and stuff like that. I don't see it in a way that it's like women suffering. I see it in a way it's like women get to have all the fun." Touché.

One of my favorite show from New York this year was Derek Lam's 2009 Spring RTW collection. I did not really like his 2008 collections because I found them too ordinary and not really special. But I really like how this year he chose really soothing colours, and even though some of the outfits look really simple, they have this posh and elegant/comfortable look to it. I believe that if we add some accessories in, these outfits will look very striking.

Slouching? Protruding Stomach?
Remember how your parents always nag your about posture? Well even if I don't like to admit this, they are right! To look good in anything you have to stand up straight, suck in your stomach, and pull your shoulders back a little. By doing this, you will look taller and skinner!

Not wearing expensive clothes or jewelry you bought
How many special occasions do you have to wear these? They can—and should— be worked into your everyday wardrobe. All you have to do is pair simple and casual items to it. For example a cocktail dress with a simple blazer. My mom has the tendency to do this too! Eventually I am the one wearing all her nice clothes haha. Remember youth does not stay forever~If you are not going to wear it you probably will not get a chance to anymore!

To much Accessory
having an overload of accessory on you will overshadow your clothes and you! Always have one piece of accessory or color be the center idea of your outfit (eg. if the dress is red you can have on black boots and black cardigan. instead of red dress with blue polkadots scarf and brown boots -I think you get what I mean. The color red is the center piece/idea of your outfit)

Wearing jeans with wrong pair of shoes
Jeans with flare at bottom should be worn with heels that are half an inch above ground. If you wear these jeans with flats: your legs will look shorter and you will look like a hippie-unless your going for this look. If you feel like flats today, wear skinny jeans with it! Your porportion will look better this way~

You defiantly need a pair of ankle boots in your closet this year fall ~! they pretty much go with anything, dresses, skirts, shorts, tights, you name it! They add a playful,boyish, yet elegant feeling to whatever your wearing.

Tips: if your legs are not skinny/lean or long, I will recommend you to wear ankle boots that are a bit below your ankle, because if it is above your ankle it cuts you leg off in the middle, making your legs look shorter and chubbier.
