Parisian youngster John Jastszebski’s new track La Toureille is a deep techno wonder reminiscent of the vitriolic sounds of Berlin techno. The trenchant beat and the syncopated percussion convey a heavy yet addictive atmosphere. Sounding timeless already, this pure, icy tune is definitely dance floor-bound.

B-side Funky Dreamer is a violent and sharp composition by French dj John Jastszebski. As a young but experimented artist, Jastszebski skillfully maintains tension and elation throughout the raw, hypnotic track. It is as straightforward as spontaneous, and leaves the listener wanting nothing but more!

 
A headlining act among the young and promising producers/djs of Paris, John Jastszebski, who previously studied cinema, now draws inspiration from cinematographic culture to create heavy house and techno sounds. Formerly a fan of hip-hop, a pioneer genre to disk jockeys of all sorts, John Jastszebski is now (and has been for the past ten years) mainly bound to all that is techno.

He primarily played in Bordeaux, where he resided before making way to Paris, where he quickly became resident dj at Le Tryptique (now Social Club), and for backstage parties in Batofar. Beginning with 2011, he also often plays at the famous Rex Club. He is now recognized as one of the most talented djs, not only in Paris, but worldwide.

John has released several EP on labels like Abstract Theory, Syncrophone, Baile Musik, Res Lab, Subversaal Musik, Deso Records, and Tools&Stuffs. His productions have received plenty of affirmation from established djs such as Luciano, Arnaud Le Texier, Richie Hawtin, Agoria, D’Julz, Laurent Garnier & Redmond, to name a few.

Between 1978 and 1992, Factory Records was one of the most important record labels in Britain. After the punk phenomenon of the ’70s had paved the way, the time was ripe with Factory to usher in the innovative sound and style of the Post-Punk and New Wave era. Factory launched the careers of Joy Division, New Order, and the Happy Mondays (to name but a few); opened the legendary Hacienda Club and Dry Bar in Manchester; and introduced along with its new music a new concept of high-quality, cutting-edge design. Working side by side with the musicians, designers such as Peter Saville, Central Station Design, 8vo and Mark Farrow developed a new vocabulary, the idioms of which are still widely recognized and imited today.

For the first time ever, the label’s rich and varied visual legacy is compiled in its entirety, a collection only made possible by Factory’s emblematic system of assigning inventory numbers to every single piece it ever created – insulting not only album sleeves, singles, special editions, flyers and posters, but more esoteric items such as stationary, nightclubs and legal documents. Every “FAC” inventory number and the ephemera it represents is presented, illustrated or listed in this volume.

After weeks of silence, Vinyl Kills MP3 comes back with a new podcast, Hand’s Brain, from the infamous Sonabilis aka Mathieu Berthet.

When we were kids most of us said he was the most talented dj from the crew ; as a true vinyl lover Mathieu has had a long career already and he’s now the happy owner of MB Mastering, the place to get your vinyls cut in Paris.

Hand’s Brain is his latest dj set recorded in Paris is the first mix he has been releasing after a long absence behind the turntables. Deep, Old School, & definitely House!

In order to celebrate the holiday season and vinyl records The Robot Scientists present an exclusive Vinyl Kills MP3 mix, recorded live and only with vinyl records.

TRS are Four DJs, record collectors and producers/musicians from Germany, uniquely combining synth-disco, proto-house, balearic/italo/space-disco, krautrock, disco funk, techhouse and minimal/synth/new wave in live DJ sets and own productions.

The Robot Scientists more or less regularly release new volumes of their legendary mix series, all of which are produced only with vinyl records for passion and respect reasons (vinyl kills mp3!)

Their collection features more than 5000 vinyl records altogether, among which are hundreds of ultra-rare 80s synth disco gems. They organize the infamous Spaced Out Disco events where they spin vinyl only – mainly synth-laden nudisco, space-, cosmic-, balearic-, italo- and indie/wave-disco.
