BITTER TO SWEET

Well, as we all know, this life is full of problems. And

so after a time of great rejoicing in the presence of God for His mighty deliverance, the children of Israel were soon confronted with another problem. Having left the shores of the Red Sea, they found themselves in the middle of nowhere: the wilderness of Shur. And to top it off, there was no water to drink. Finally, after journeying for three days, they sighted water. What a relief! As the thirsty pilgrims through both good times and bad, mountain tops and deep,dark valleys, bitter trials and sweet experiences. Yes, we will go through times where we don’t understand what God is doing; but let us remember that in it all, God has a beauti-ful work to do in our lives. His promise to us is that He willmake “all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose” (Rom 8:28). In other words, even the bad will be turned

into something good in the lives of God’s people. The most bitter trials that we have to endure will end up producing something very sweet in our lives. The worst will be turned into the best, the saddest will be changed to the happiest,all when we learn to cry out to our God, and allow Him to show His mighty hand in our lives. In these last days,we are going to see His hand move on our behalf such as never before. Therefore, let us look to Him, listen to His

voice, and believe. We will certainly see His glory.

If God has called you to be really like Jesus in all your spirit, He will draw you into a life of crucifixion and humility, and put on you such demands of obedience, that He will not allow you to follow other Christians, and in many ways He will seem to let other good people do things which He will not let you do.
Other Christians and ministers who seem very religious and useful may push themselves, pull wires, and work schemes to carry out their plans, but you cannot do it: and if you attempt it, you will meet with such failure and rebuke from the Lord as to make you sorely penitent.

          Others can brag on themselves, on their work, on their success, on their writings, but the holy Spirit will not allow you to do any such thing, and if you begin it, He will lead you into some deep mortification that will make you despise yourself and all your good works.

        Others will be allowed to succeed in making money, or having a legacy left to them, or in having luxuries, but it is likely God will keep you poor, because He wants you to have something far better than gold, and that is a helpless dependence on Him, that He may have the privilege of supplying your needs day by day out of an unseen treasury.

             The Lord will let others be honored, and put forward and keep you hid away in obscurity, because He wants to produce some choice, fragrant fruit for His coming glory, which can only be produced in the shade.

        God will let others be great, but keep you small. He will let others do a work for Him, and get the credit for it, but He will make you work and toil on without knowing how much you are doing; and then to make your work still more precious, He will let others get the credit for the work which you have done, and this will make your reward ten times greater when Jesus comes. The Holy Spirit will put a strict watch over you, with a jealous love, and will rebuke you for little words and feelings or for wasting your time, which other Christians never seem distressed over. So make up your mind that God is an infinite Sovereign, and has a right to do as He pleases with His own, and He will not explain to you a thousand things which may puzzle your reason in His dealings with you. God will take you at your word; and if you absolutely sell yourself to be His slave, He will wrap you up in a jealous love, and let other people say and do many things that you cannot do or say. Settle it forever, that you are to deal directly with the Holy Spirit, and that He is to have the privilege of tying your tongue, or chaining your hand, or closing your eyes in ways that others are not dealt with. Now when you are so possessed with the living God that you are, in your secret heart, pleased and delighted over this peculiar, personal, private, jealous guardianship and management of the Holy Spirit over your life, you will have found the vestibule of heaven.

Learning how to ROLL on to Jesus

PSALM 22 is called a Messianic Psalm because it is prophetical concerning Jesus Christ. In this Psalm, we can see what Jesus experienced while upon the Cross of Calvary. Many of these same verses are quoted in the Gospels where the account of Christ’s sufferings on Calvary are explained in detail. Such expressions as “they pierced my hands and my feet. I may tell all my bones: they look and stare upon me” (vs 16-17) reveal the intensity of the physical suffering which Christ endured upon that Cross.
But it wasn’t simply the physical sufferings which caused our Lord so much anguish. The Bible tells us that “the spirit of a man will sustain his infirmity...” (Prov. 18:14). The real pain which Jesus felt was not simply the nails in His hands and feet, the crown of thorns, and bleeding back, but rather that God the Father had actually forsaken Him. Jesus cried out in agony: “My God, My God, why hast Thou forsaken Me?” (vs 1). How could this be? Would God the Father actually turn His face away from His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ?
Jesus had always known the presence of God His loving Father. While still in His youth, Christ told His parents: “I must be about My Father’s business.” At His baptism, and later on the Mount of Transfiguration, the Father proclaimed so that all could hear: “This is My Son in whom I am well pleased.” Jesus Himself testified: “The Father hath not left Me alone, for I do always those things that please Him.” But now, what has taken place?
The reason why God the Father turned His face away from Jesus was because all the sins and iniquities of the whole world were placed upon Christ. Jesus, who knew no sin, became sin upon the rugged Cross of Calvary. Taking upon Himself the burden of the whole world’s guilt of sin, Jesus cried out in agony while in the garden: “Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as Thou wilt.” He knew the cup which He had to drink, and with total resignation, He fulfilled the will of His Father.
In the Gospels, only the first part of Psalm 22:1 is actually quoted; but if we continue reading, the whole “prayer” of Christ upon that Cross of suffering can be seen. After crying out “My God, My God, why hast Thou forsaken Me?”, His prayer continued:

“But Thou art holy, O Thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel. Our fathers trusted in Thee: they trusted, and Thou didst deliver them...they trusted in Thee, and were not confounded.”
This is the ultimate in trusting God! In such a state, forsaken both of man and God, Jesus put His full confidence in His Father’s holiness, righteousness (rightness), love, and faithfulness. And finally, with the last breath that He had, Jesus prayed:
“Father, into Thy hands I commend My spirit.” Jesus showed us the way—the way of fully trusting in God.
One interesting verse in this prophetic Psalm reveals what the others saw in Jesus during His time on earth. They said (vs 8): “He trusted on the Lord that He would deliver Him: let Him deliver Him, seeing He delighted in Him.” The confidence that Christ had in His heavenly Father was so great that others around Him (even His enemies) could see it. And He trusted in God even unto death.
Absolute faith and trust in God has always been the way which God has ordained for man to walk with Him. From the foundation of the world, salvation has always been “by grace through faith”. Men who have walked with God are those who walk by faith and absolute trust in God’s love, mercy, and complete faithfulness. This is why God ordains trials for His dear children. It is not because He is angry or frustrated with us, but rather, that He might see if we can fully trust in Him; if perhaps we might turn to Him and be won to His great love and faithfulness. This is how precious our faith and trust are to Him.
Many time it may seem as if God is such a “hard man”. Once when a Canaanite woman came to Jesus to ask for help concerning her demon possessed daughter, He did not even respond at first. He told His disciples that He had only come for the lost sheep of the house of Israel, and not for the Gentiles such as this woman. But she persisted to cry out after Him. Finally, He explained that it was not right to give the children’s bread to dogs. Was Jesus actually calling this woman a dog? What would we do, if such a response were given to our request in prayer? Would we turn around in anger and never come back to church again? Become bitter in heart and backslide? Well, this woman’s humble persistence was amazing! She replied:
“Truth, Lord: yet even the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.” (Mat. 15:27)
“Great is thy faith!” was the immediate response of Christ and her request was immediately granted!
Faith— that precious, but often misused word. It is far more than a doctrinal head—knowledge of Scripture, or a theological acceptance of certain “beliefs”. Faith is an attitude of heart, an attitude which involves our whole personality. It is the only attitude which can ever please God. “When the Son of Man comes will He find faith on the earth?”
How simple it is! The same way in which we come to Christ is the way in which we must continue to walk with Him. How did we come? As sinners before a righteous Judge, knowing that the wages of sin was death. No criminal would ever voluntarily surrender to the judge if he knew that the punishment would be death.
Nevertheless, although you and I came to Christ with trembling concerning such a judgement, we also came with the confidence that He was merciful and gracious. We came trusting that for Christ’s sake He would forgive us upon seeing our repentant and sorrowful hearts. But have we continued in such a humble, honest, and simple trust in God our Savior?
Many times, we lose this attitude of simple trust, and begin to go about doing our own works in order to please God. Like the Galatians, we too become “foolish” and after having begun in the Spirit and by faith, we try to finish the work by our own strength. “I know how to do it now. I pray every day, I read the Bible, I fast twice a week, I pay my tithes...” But there is no more faith involved in such a life. Rather, even after doing our best for the Lord, we should fall upon our knees and realize that we are only, at the best, “unprofitable servants”. We are only worthy of hell-fire apart from the sheer mercies of God. Such a revelation would keep us walking in this precious faith with God all the days of our lives.
“He trusted in the Lord...”— this was the testimony that Jesus Christ had while upon the earth. He had put full confidence in His loving heavenly Father. Now this statement has an additional thought behind it when we look into the original Hebrew language. The Hebrew word for “trust” here in this verse is “galal” which literally means “to roll.” It is actually translated as “roll” in other places in the Old Testament, such as when Joshua told the men who were with him to “roll great stones upon the mouth of the cave...” (Josh 10:18). Therefore, we can literally translate this statement from Psalm 22 as:
“He rolled Himself on the Lord...”
Somehow, in God’s eyes, “trusting” and “rolling” are the same thing! Something is rolled when it is too heavy to be manually carried. And isn’t this often the case with you and me? So many burdens, so many cares, so many trials and hardships... what can we do? Just roll them unto the Lord! O Hallelujah! How simple life becomes when we learn to roll all of our troubles into the Everlasting Arms of our heavenly Father.
This same Hebrew word is also translated as “to commit” in Ps 37:4-5.
Delight thyself also in the Lord; and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit [roll] thy way unto the Lord: trust also in Him; and He shall bring it to pass.
A more accurate rendering of this verse is “delight thyself only in the Lord...” Now if God were to always give us our heart’s desire, what a mess we would be in today! So many desires and anxieties fill our hearts, but God knows what is best for us—if we can only trust Him to do it. Therefore, He puts one condition on this promise of giving us the desires of our hearts. Delight thyself only in the Lord. ''Now, if the only desire of our heart is for God Himself, then the conditions of the promise have been met —and He will give us as much as we could ever want—as much of Himself as we could ever want!! And what better petition could we ever bring before God than that we might be able to receive more and more of Him! Hallelujah!
Romans 8:32 is another well-known, but often misquoted portion of Scripture which gives us promise that God will freely provide all of our needs if we can only trust Him fully. Just two words— “with Him” — make all the difference and yet it is these important words which are so often forgotten:
He that spared not His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? (Rom. 8:32)
On any given occasion, when we fully trust God for all of our daily needs (material, physical, mental, and spiritual) then He sees to it that we get a “portion” of Himself also! Taking God at His Word, and simply believing that “He shall bring it to pass” is what pleases Him the most.
In Proverbs 16:3, the same Hebrew word “galal” is again translated as “commit”:
Commit [roll] thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established.
Do you have a problem with wandering thoughts? How many times have you stared at the same page in your Bible, trying to read past the first verse - all because of wandering thoughts? How many times have you knelt down to pray, only to find your thoughts taking you back to the difficult time you had at work that day, or to the stack of unpaid bills still sitting on your desk? Yes, wandering thoughts is a problem that we all have. Why? Because we are still trying to carry our own burdens instead of leaving them in the hands of the Lord. He says, “Come unto Me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give your rest” (Mat. 11:28). According to Proverbs, if we could only take all of our works in which we are so “deeply” involved (those which supposedly “only we” can do) and roll them unto the Lord, our “thoughts shall be established”. We would no longer have this problem with wandering thoughts.
The story is told of one elderly woman in a country where the automobile was a very uncommon sight. On a regular basis, she walked several miles to the market and several miles back home, carrying quite a heavy load of goods which she would purchase. One day a man happened to be driving his car through that part of the country and as he passed by this elderly woman carrying such a heavy load, he felt compassion for her and offered to drive her home. Having never been in a car before, she hesitantly agreed to get in. Upon nearing the woman’s home, the man glanced back upon his elderly passenger and was much disturbed at what he saw. With an irritated surprise, he asked: “Ma’am, I offered you a ride in my car because I saw you carrying such a heavy load of goods. Why, then, are you still carrying them upon your shoulders? “Well,” responded the woman, “you were so kind to have take me into your car that I felt that it would not be fair to burden your car down with this heavy load also. So I decided to carry it for you.”
How often we have been just as foolish as that woman. We “give” ourselves to the Lord, but we still try to carry our own burdens. Soon we are just about ready to quit and give up altogether because the journey is too great and the weight of our burden is too much to bear. What should we do? Just look “underneath” and we will see how foolish we have really been all this time:
The eternal God is thy Refuge, and underneath are the Everlasting Arms... (Deut 33: 27)
When we put our full trust in the Lord, then we can lay every burden down, because underneath are the Everlasting Arms of our Lord. He is strong enough to carry both us and all of our burdens as well!! Here is another example:
There we are right in the boat together with Jesus. Everything should be alright if He is there shouldn’t it? But what has happened? A storm! Big waves! and the boat is full of water! We’re sinking! Jesus, why are You sleeping on that pillow over there? Can’t You see that we are all going to die? Wake up and do something! Lord, don’t You love us? Don’t You care that we are soon about to perish? Lord, help us!!
We often laugh at those foolish and unbelieving disciples in the bat while Jesus was asleep. But often we are just as foolish and unbelieving. What would you have done if you had been there in such a climactic situation? Well, the best thing to do would been to run and get your own pillow and roll right over next to the Lord and fall asleep with Him, trusting in His everlasting mercies!
Jesus became a perfect example for us of how to roll ourselves upon the Lord in complete trust! This was the purpose for which God created Adam and the very purpose for which God saved us - that somehow we should learn to trust in the Lord with all of our heart, trusting Him right through the very valley of the shadow of death itself! We shall not fear because He is with us! ''For this God is our God for ever and ever: He will be our Guide even unto death'' (Ps.48:14).
Dear child of god, can you trust Him for the smallest details of your life? Can you trust Him even unto death? Who knows what god will do? He is only looking for those who will put all of their trust in Him. He will do anything and everything to with both our faith and our love all for Himself. He gave His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to prove His love for us. If He went to such extremes for us, let us go to such extremes for Him. Let us learn how to roll ourselves and our every burden upon Him. He's faithful and He will surely bring it to pass!!Amen!

ISIS JIHADIST ACCEPT CHRISTIANITY AFTER ALLAH REFUSES ENTERANCE TO HEAVEN

An ISIS jihadist has recently converted to Christianity after being left for dead near the Eastern border of Syria where he was finally rescued by Christian missionaries from the region.The man, that has miraculously survived multiple gun shot wounds after an altercation between ISIS and Syrian Army forces, was rescued by members of the Saint Dominican Catholic Presbytery of Ayyash hours after the conflict had erupted.

The members of the Christian organization wanted to give the man a proper Christian burial and carried him over 26 kilometers before the man miraculously came back to life as he was believed to have died from his wounds.

As the man came back to his senses, he reported to priest Hermann Groschlin of the visions he had whilst in the afterlife, an event that profoundly changed the 32-year old jihadist and eventually led to his conversion to Christianity days later.

“He told me that he was always taught that to die as a martyr would open him the Gates of Jannah, or Gates of Heaven” recalled the priest. “Yet, as he had started to ascend towards the light of the Heavens, devilish entities, or Jinns he called them, appeared and led him to the fiery pits of Hell. There he had to relive all the pain he had inflicted upon others and every death he had caused throughout his entire life. He even had to relive the decapitations of his victims through their own eyes”, images the jihadist claims will haunt him for the rest of his life, admits the priest.
“Then Allah, or God, spoke unto him and told him that he had failed miserably as a human soul, that he would be banned from the Gates of Heaven if he chose to die, but that if he chose to live again, he would have another chance to repent of his sins and walk along God’s path once again”

The young man claims he was brought back to life moments later and eventually converted to Christianity days later, believing he had been misled throughout his religious life under the worship of Allah.

The young man, who’s wounds have surprisingly healed in a very short time, has chosen to live amongst the members of the Catholic presbytery who rescued him from the desert and hopes his story will help other ISIS fighters change their ways and convert to the one and only true God, the priest told local reporters.

Why Pentecostal People dont wear Ornaments ?

In India especially in Kerala and some states pentecostal denominations do not wear ornaments. If you ask "why you are not wearing ornaments?", the Present generation has different answers.

To know the reason for abandoning ornaments well, we need to understand the social as well as the cultural situation of the time when our our forefathers came to faith and received the gift of Holy Spirit. Social status at that time was determined by the amount of Gold and Silver ornaments one wear. In marriages, a part of dowry was given as gold ornaments. The weight of gold ornaments determines the status of the family in the society at that time. Those who are rich used to wear a lot of God ornaments. Those who are poor used to wear ornaments made of glass, plastic or stone beads. In marriage and other occasions gold and silver ornaments were given as gifts.

When our forefathers came to faith, many of them were denied possession and wealth from their parents and relatives. Their new found faith and speaking in tongues were treated as madness by others. In marriages and special occasions, they were not invited and denied entry. Most of them have to rebuild their life from scratch. But they were so strong in their faith. They found happiness in Jesus and the worship in spirit more than anything else. They left everything for their faith. Many of them were thrown out of their family. They spend many days without food or shelter. Many were eating leaf or root of plants to survive. When they were not able to eat food, how do you expect them to wear ornaments or good dress during those days

They took a joint decision to abstain from divorce, wearing ornaments, remarriage of divorced, smoking, drinking wine, going to theater to watch commercial movie,smoking, watching drama or dance along with unbelievers etc. It was a requirements for the believers to avoid such things to get baptized and to join a pentecostal church. If anyone found violating these teachings, were not allowed to say testimony in the church and were dismissed those who did not heed the correction. It was done to keep the holiness in the community and gathering.

At that time there were miracles happened among them. Many of those who were afflicted by the evil spirits were delivered by the ministry of anointed pastors. There were well known prophets among them. Fasting prayers and conventions conducted frequently and many were come to faith.

One of the Bible verse used to point out why they should not wear ornaments were

1 Timothy 2:9 "In like manner also,that women adorn themselves in modest apparel ,with shamedfacedness and sobriety not with braided hair or gold ,or pearls or costly array" .i.e Women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or expensive clothes, but with good deeds, appropriate for women who profess to worship God.

Wearing white dress was a peculiar tradition in the pentecostal fading now a days. In the olden days when they gathered together, they were wearing white dress as much as they can separated them from others. It was insisted by the leaders to be white (pure) inside and outside. Their Love of God stood above all things.

They realized that love of God is more precious than silver or Gold. To maintain equality, they decided not to wear Gold or Silver or other ornaments. They wanted to have a separate identity. They decided that if someone who is not willing leave ornaments for the sake of God, is not worthy to follow God. To weed out the half minted people and create a strong and faithful group, they decided that anyone want to join them must abstain from wearing any kind of ornaments. If you are not willing to give up your ornaments, you are not worthy to follow Jesus. That was their reason to abstain from wearing ornaments. Whether they are in USA or UK, North India or in South India, they keep their identity and the rules set by their forefathers.

The basic aim for abstaining from ornaments is that to keep a separate identity from the world. Otherwise the leaders could have advise the believers that they could wear cheap ornaments made of plastic or natural materials. But they wanted to keep an identity. This identity is a declaration to the world that you are committed your life to Jesus and you will serve Him all through your life. In your happy days and in your sorrowful days, in your abundance and in your scarcity you will follow Jesus and his teachings. It is the evidence of your commitment. This responsibility of being recognized is also a way of keeping ourselves from self-destructive habits, such as smoking, drinking, and other worldly desires.

So not wearing ornament is your commitment to do good and follow Jesus and serve the mankind. If you are willing to do that-God will help you.

Romans 14:22 “You may believe there’s nothing wrong with what you are doing, but keep it between yourself and God. Blessed are those who don’t feel guilty for doing something they have decided is right.

THE THREAT OF "APOCALYPTIC ISLAM"

The threat we face is not simply from Radical Islam. Indeed, it not even primarily from Radical Islamic groups like Muslim Brotherhood, Hamas, and al Qaeda at this hour, as serious as these threats are.

The most serious threat we face in the Middle East and North Africa is what I call “Apocalyptic Islam.”

This term -- "Apocalyptic Islam" -- is one that each of needs to become familiar with and begin to teach others. Why? Because for the first time in all of human history, we have not just one but two nation states whose rulers are driven not by political ideology -- or even mere religious theology -- but by apocalyptic, genocidal End Times eschatology.

The Islamic Republic of Iran today is ruled by an apocalyptic, genocidal death cult. (see also here, here and here)

So is the Islamic State, also known as ISIS or ISIL. (see here and here)

The former are Shia. The latter are Sunni. Both believe the End of days has come. Both believe their messiah – known as the “Mahdi” -- is coming at any moment. Both are trying to hasten the coming of the Mahdi. Yet each has entirely different strategies to hasten his arrival or appearance on earth.

ISIS wants to build a caliphate. Iran wants to build The Bomb. ISIS is committing genocide now. Iran is preparing to commit genocide later.

In the near term, ISIS is more dangerous. Why? Because ISIS is on a jihadist rampage right now. Robbing. Killing. Destroying. Enslaving. Raping. Torturing. Beheading. Because ISIS is a Satanic movement. This is not mere terrorism. This is genocide. These are demon-possessed people making blood sacrifices to their god and if they are not stopped they will murder millions and bring down one Mid-eastern regime after another.

As Americans, we dare not turn a blind eye to this threat. If we don't defeat the jihadists over there, they are coming here. We must act, and act now.

Longer term, Iran is the most dangerous, especially if the President approves this disastrous nuclear deal that is emerging. Why? Because the apocalyptic leaders of Iran are biding their time to build a nuclear arsenal capable of killing tens of millions of people in a matter of minutes.

Far too few people in the West truly understand the nature and threat of Radical Islam. Fewer still are aware of -- much less understand -- the nature and threat of Apocalyptic Islam. Indeed, many dismiss these concerns all together. But the fact is that a deep and widespread belief exists within the Islamic world that we are living in the End of Days, and that the Islamic "Mahdi" or "messiah" is coming at any moment to bring Judgment Day and the end of all things.

According to a 2012 report by the Pew Research Center, “in most countries in the Middle East and North Africa, South Asia and Southeast Asia, more than half or more of Muslims believe they will live to see the return of the Mahdi.”

Consider that sentence again -- "more than half." In a world of 1.5 billion Muslims, that means more than 750 million Muslims believe not only that the Mahdi is coming, but that his arrival is imminent.

    In Egypt, 40% of Muslims believe the return of the Mahdi is imminent.
    In Jordan, 41%
    Among Palestinians, the number is 46%
    In Iraq, a stunning 72% of Muslims believe this

What’s more, an enormous number of Muslims believe that Jesus is coming back to earth. In their eschatology, however, Jesus is not the Savior. He's not the Son of God. He does not come to reign as King. Rather, Islamic End Times theology posits Jesus as the deputy, serving under the Mahdi, and forcing all people to convert to Islam or die.

    In Jordan, 29% of Muslims believe Jesus is coming back to earth
    In Egypt, it's 39%
    Among Palestinians, the number is 46%
    In Iraq, an eye-popping 64% of Muslims believe Jesus is coming back.

These facts have real-world implications. Our President and many policy-makers are ignoring both the facts and their implications. But we must be clear: we face a threat from Radical Islam which seeks to attack us. We face an even greater threat from Apocalyptic Islam which seeks to annihilate us.

When you are forgotten or neglected, or purposely set at naught, and you smile inwardly, glorying in the insult or the oversight, because thereby counted worthy to suffer with Christ — that is victory.

When your good is evil spoken of, when your wishes are crossed, your taste offended, your advice disregarded your opinion ridiculed, and you take it all in patient, loving silence — that is victory.

When you are content with any food, any raiment any climate, any society, any solitude, any interruption by the will of God — that is victory.

When you can lovingly and patiently deal with an any disorder, any irregularity, any unpunctuality, or any annoyance — that is victory.

When you never care to refer to yourself in conversation or to record your own good works, or to itch after commendation, when you can truly love to be unknown - that is victory.
When you can stand face to face with waste, folly extravagance, spiritual insensibility, and endure it as Jesus endured it—that is victory.

When, like Paul, you can throw all your suffering on Jesus, thus converting it into a means of knowing His over coming grace; and can say from a surrendered heart, “most gladly,” therefore, do “I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake” - that is victory. (2 Cor. 12: 7-10.)

To love equally as much the grace that comes through being “instructed how to be hungry” and to suffer, as you love the faith required to know how to be “full” and to
abound in health - that is victory. (Phil. 4: 12.)

When death and life are both alike to you through Christ, and to do His perfect will, you delight not more in one than the other—that is victory; for, through Him you may become able to say, “Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death.” (Phil. 1: 20; 1 Cor. 15: 54.)

The perfect victory is to “put on the Lord Jesus Christ” and thus to triumph over one’s self. (Rom. 13:14)

The air force commander of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps was quoted by Iran’s Fars news agency as saying Tuesday that Iran’s military has its finger on the trigger to destroy Israel as soon as it receives the order to do so," reports the Times of Israel. "In an article headlined 'IRGC Commander: Iran’s Finger on Trigger to Destroy Zionist Regime,' Fars wrote that Brigadier General Hossein Salami had declared that Iranian military commanders are prepared to attack and destroy the Zionist regime of Israel as soon as they receive such an order."

“Today, we can destroy every spot which is under the Zionist regime’s control with any volume of fire power (that we want) right from here,” Fars quoted Salami as telling a conference in Tehran Tuesday on “The Islamic World’s Role in the Geometry of the World Power.”

"Iranian leaders regularly issue threats against Israel and the United States, but the wording ascribed to Salami on Tuesday was particularly aggressive," the article noted.

“Islam has given us this wish, capacity and power to destroy the Zionist regime so that our hands will remain on the trigger from 1,400 kilometers away for the day when such an incident (confrontation with Israel) takes place,” he was also quoted saying in the speech.

" Lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.'' Matthew 28: 20

These words were spoken, when the disciples had come to the end of their company with the corporal Christ. These past few days have brought them to a climax - to the end of an easy - going life - where the major responsibilities were borne by Christ.

The incidents that have taken place have shaken them to the depths. Their security had faded away due to the crucifixion and the impending ascension of Christ. They have to face a dark and a siark future. No more could they be carefree children.

He spoke to them of a world conquest; "Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel making disciples of all nations." Mark 16: i5. He gave them a stupendous task to be carried out, during His bodily absence. He provided themneither silver nor gol or any means of financial support, but a promise, which is greater than silver and gold. •' I AM WITH YOU ALWAY, EVEN UNTO THE END OF THE WORLD."

They had to accomplish this task of conquering the world that was hostile. So hostile, that had even crucified their master. Nevertheless, through this horizon of gloom, gleams these assuring words. "Lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world." It was demonstrated in their subsequent lives, that the One who made the promise was true and faithful to them.

He does not promise that they were not to have tribulation nor did He say that every thing would be easy. But whatever the future has in store, whether shadow or sunshine, darkness or light, mountain or valley, you are never going to be alone. He was to be with them. He was to bare their burdens and share their troubles. He was to partake of all their vicissitudes of life. So that, not merely a spectator but as a participator. So that after Pentecost the disciples summed up the results of their missionary journeys, they had their hair - breadth escapes, their miraculous ministries, their harvest of souls, their trials and triumphs, in these words, "God (Christ) working with them." Acts 14:17.

So, we read that the promises of Christ, that He would be with them, resulted net only being present with them but working with them. '' We are labourers together with God." 1 Cor. 3:9. New Testament experience is working in co-operation with Christ or working with Christ.

So having this form of assurance, of His company with us, we need not be afraid of the future. We are going to do all things together with Him. And having Christ as our guide and companion we are sure of success and victory in this ensuing year. lie will never leave nor forsake us. And shall abide with us, even unto the end of the world.

                                  This Christmas season is come to an end, once again we are faced with the ever-so-important-question, ‘What think ye of Christ. The modern world has failed to rise up from her age-long slumber to catch the real magnified vision of Christ, not only as her Saviour, but also as her ‘King of kings and Lord of lords.’ The average religious man thinks He is the most perfect man that ever lived, or an outstanding religious leader, showing the way to live a holy life, or an excellent teacher of ethics and religion, or a faithful martyr for His beliefs and convictions. They have not discovered in Christ, the Almighty God and Saviour. Christendom today has removed Christ from Christmas making it a sensational day of festivity, with Santa Claus, Christmas trees, decora¬tions with candles and coloured lights, Chinese crackers, gifts, turkey, cakes, puddings, drinks, fun and frivolous activities. The business world has commercialized Christmas. Alas Is it. the Birthday of our Great Saviour ? Christ is the missing link in all the Christmas programs. It is Christmas without Christ.

Let us examine Christ under two headings, namely, ‘Christ, the Son of man’ and ‘Christ, the Son of God’, that we may be able to know the true answer to the question, ‘What think ye of Christ ?‘

CHRIST, the Son of Man

             No man has left such an indelible record on the pages of history about his birthday as Christ. The whole world has accepted His birthday as the principal date of reckoning in their calendars; and based on this day, either as B.C. or A:D., documents are dated, events are recorded, newspapers are published, programes are fixed, business transactions are arranged, and appointments are kept. No man has won this honour as Jesus, the Babe of Bethlehem.

         No single religious leader or founder has captured the hearts and minds of people by millions as Christ. Not only during His earthly days, but much more after his transpor¬tation to heaven, He has drawn multitudes to Himself, year after year, transforming their lives, filling their hearts with celestial love, joy and peace. Rich and poor, educated and illiterate, kings and beggars, refined and savage, high and low, great and small, from East, West, North and South, are being drawn to Him innumerably day after day, because he stands supreme, transcendent, unrivalled and far above all great men ever known.

Napoleon said, Alexander, Caesar, Charlemagne and I myself founded empires on force, but Jesus founded one on love, with the result that millions would die for Him. I tell you all these were men, and I am a man. None else is like Him - Jesus Christ was more than a man.’ Let His Name be exalted and magnified for ever and ever.

Christ, the Son of God

                     The most reliable lenses which alone can reveal the invaluable treasures hid in the Infant of Bethlehem, and enlighten our spiritual understanding to know the greatness of His glory, deity and divinity, is the Word of God. Search the scriptures’, said Jesus, and they are they which testify of Me.’ Who then, is, this Babe of Bethlehem, wrapped in swaddling clothes, with nowhere to lay His head? Firstly He is the very Creator God. He is the image of the invisible God, the first born (first-cause) of every creature; for by Him were all things created that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers; all things were created by Him and for Him; and He is before all things, and by Him all things consist (held together)’. (Ccl. 1:15-17). In other words, all living creatures, from the smallest microbe, which is invisible to the naked eye, man, the crowning of God’s creation; all inanimate objects from the minutest atom to the greatest planet in its orbit; and all forms of governments, from that of insects such as ants and bees to the highest government in heaven — all things were created by Him and all things are held together by Him. Secondly, He is the very God of all wisdom ‘In Whom Christ) are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge’. (CoL 2:3). Examine a petal of a flower, or the wing of a butterfly through a microscope. Look at the galaxy of the stars through a telescope, study every part of your own body, consider the hidden treasures imbedded in nature, whether sky or land or sea, which man, after years of research has discovered and has yet more to discover. Watch the lives of insects, birds and animals and their instincts, filled with wisdom and efficiency - what precision and perfection, what infinite wisdom and master¬mind, arid what perfect designs and decorations, beyond all human comprehension, are revealed. Yes, they display just a fraction of all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge, hid in the Babe of Bethlehem - Jesus Christ. Above all He is eternal and Almighty. He says, ‘I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.’

This Great Creator, the only wise God, Eternal and Almighty, was willing to be born in a manger to grant us His own celestial mansions built of solid gold. Born as Stranger, He has made us kings and priests; Born poor, He has made us partakers of all His heavenly riches; and born lowly, He has exalted us to the heaven of heavens. Choosing rags to wrap Himself, He has clothed us with His Royal robes of glory and splendour; and bearing our reproaches and iniquities, He has forgiven us, that He may purify us so as to be found holy and blameless in love before Him. Let us therefore count all our gain as loss for the excellency of the knowledge in Christ Jesus, and to win Him. Let the whole world fail prostrate before this humble Babe and crown Him Lord of all. Amen.

Historic snow storm slams Israel and neighboring countries

The biggest December snow and rain storm in the modern history of Israel and the Palestinian territories hit on Wednesday night and the first snow fall in a hundred years hit Cairo. Snow also hit parts of Lebanon, Syria, and Jordan.

For the many of the kids of Jerusalem, the storm has been much fun. Building snow men. Having snow ball fights. Sledding. Walking through and playing in the cold white stuff they rarely experience.

For the adults, however, it has been a different story. Roads in and out of Jerusalem were shut down by authorities after many cars slid off the roads or couldn't climb the heights without snow tires or chains. Many commuters who live in Jerusalem were stranded and had to stay with friends or in hotels. Tens of thousands of Israelis are without electricity. Many poor and needs -- Jews and Arabs -- have no heat, or have a difficult time affording enough heat. In the coastal and desert areas there was no snow, much intense, driving rains that caused flooding in some regions.

The Israel Electric Corps said that 29,600 households across the country are without power as a result of the tough weather conditions.

They include 12,900 in Jerusalem, 7,000 in the north, 2,000 in central and southern Israel and thousands more in the West Bank. The IEC said that it would take a considerable amount of time to restore electricity.

Please pray for the authorities as they work around the clock to help so many in need. Please pray that the homeless and needy (and refugees in Syria, Lebanon and Jordan) are cared for with food and warm clothing and blankets and shelter. Please pray that people will turn to the Lord at this time for help, strength, wisdom and His great love and mercy.

"God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble." (Psalm 46:1)

CHRIST IS THE ANSWER

‘As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up; That whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.” John 3:14,25.

The children of Israel were going to the land of Canaan through the wilderness. On their way, we find that they murmured against God and Moses. What was their com¬plaint? They had no water and no food other than manna. There was not that variety of luxurious food they normally had in Egypt. The same manna for every meal of the day for 40 years made it repulsive to them, and so they grumbled. Instead of being thankful to God for miraculously feeding them in that wilderness with the food of angels, they were ungrateful and murmured against God and Moses. This provoked God to punish them and they were bitten by fiery serpents; many died.

Dear friends, is not this our experience too? Has not the monotony of our everyday life—the same tasks, the same surroundings, the same people, the same problems, the same difficulties - brought discontent into our life? But there is no solution and we bravely endure for a time. This burden of discontent, however, must needs react on our bodily health, more so because you cannot share it with others—nobody understands, nobody cares. But, no, there is One who cares!

When the children of Israel were bitten by fiery serpents, the Lord commanded Moses to make a fiery serpents of brass and set it upon a pole, so that anyone who looked at it received healing. We know that the serpent was a type of Christ on the cross. Christ ‘said “As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up.” When Christ died on the Calvary’s cross, He died for. various reasons, one of which was for people bitten by these fiery serpents. Christ became the sin offering- He became sin for us. 2 Cor. 5: 21. Christ had to take upon Himself the very sinful state of man and thus became an object of God’s wrath. As Isaiah says in chap. 53:4,5, “Surely He hath borne our grief’s and carried our sorrows; yet we did esteem Him stricken, smitten of God and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities. The chastisement of our peace was upon Him and with His stripes we are healed.” This then is the remedy—Christ has borne it all !

           What should our attitude be? Surely, not to dwell on our pitiful state as did the Israelites who thought of the virulence of the poison and the hopelessness their surroun¬dings. This is not God’s plan regarding our life’ He does not expect us to just exist anyhow in pain and misery. He wants us to live a full life and that in the. joy of the Lord. What is the secret of victory? Just surrender your lives into the bands of the Almighty God and He will do all things for you !

Many do not come to Jesus because it is hard for them to believe that He does everything free. Living in a world where everything has to be paid for, they cannot conceive of the bounty of God. A certain man from the South who came forward for healing, kept asking how much he had to pay for his healing. Even as God’. priceless gifts air sunshine and rain are free, so is healing and all the other Christian experiences.

En the wilderness, the stricken people were told to do one thing to look at the brazen serpent set up on the Pole. Even so, we must look at Christ crucified on Whom was laid. the iniquity of us all, He has paid the penalty of our sins He has borne the judgment that should come on us. Look at the Crucified one —only look and there will see your sins, your pains and your sorrows, your worries and your problems.

The Pharisees mocked at Christ and said, “He saved others, Himself He cannot save why did He not come down from the cross? Because He wanted to save you , He wanted to give you life. That is Calvary. But many people have not understood it. They have their eyes focussed on their pains and their problems. This gives the devil a chines to magnify it for them tilt they feel the load beyond their strength to carry. I know of a man who was under the delusion that he was ill even though are Medical Board pronounced him free of sickness. So in unbelief he struggled along under an imagined load. The solution for all this is found in the cross- in Jesus and Him crucified. Deliverance comes as you look at the crucified Christ.

The cross of Christ give us healing, gives, us for¬giveness of sins and sanctification. “The blood of Jesus His Son cleanseth us from all sin. 1 John 1:7. Read also Hebrew 10:10 We need nothing beyond Calvary for our salvation. We are sanctified through the offering of the body of Christ once for all. The body of Jesus was completely dedicated to do the will of Gods When we too, in like manner dedicate ourselves to do His will, we are sanc¬tified through Calvary. The moment we surrender ourselves to God, He begins the work of sanctification In us. Through Calvary there is salvation and victory. Not our feeling, but faith alone matters. Through Calvary we receive perfection too. Heb. 10:14. The Holy Spirit is our witness. He writes His laws in our hearts. He change our minds and makes us do His till. If we are not sanctified , if we are not perfected, it is because we do not believe what God has provided for us.

“All the promises of God are yea and amen in Christ Jesus.” “AMEN” is a ’Hebrew word. It is neither a wish nor a request as expressed in the phrases “May it be so” or “Let it be so.” But what does it mean? It just means, “Yes, It IS so .“ You should believe that all God’s promises are yours. This is explained by the words “through us”. Christ died for me , He has carried, He has taken my sin, He has carried my sorrow and I am healed. This should be your confession. “All the promises of God are going to be “yea” and ‘Amen’ through me.”

There are many Christians who find it difficult to believe the scripture which says “Jesus Christ the some yesterday, today and forever” But the non- Christians readily believe in the power of the name of Jesus. At the Convention held at Madras in India, recently There were many Hindus who brought their sick straight from the Hospital, because they were Sure that Christ was able to heal them. There were several children who were suffering from Polio who were brought forward for prayer and they were healed immediately after prayer. A certain lady was brought from the Hospital suffering from cancer. She heard of the power of God from some Christians who visited her in Hospital. They had toled her of these Convention meetings, but she was not impressed by the news. God had appeared to her in the night and asked her to attend the meetings. She came there that evening , and was carried to the healing service. She felt the touch of God while hearing the word and found she was able to sit up. After prayer , she came up to the platform and testified about the healing she received. Some of the doctors who happened to treat her while in Hospital and were present at this meeting, nodded their heads as a sign of approval for God’s healing power, while the lady was giving her testimony. Nothing is impossible with God. The most important thing is whether the promises of God are going to be proved true through us. Through Calvary there is victory if you believe. (Matt 8:18)
