With the economy in a recession, receiving a logo or voice over for a low price helps a lot! I present to you, Fiverr.com!

Launched in February, 2010, a micro-contracting service was established to change the way people buy and sell products and services online. That service is Fiverr! If you’ve required the services of web developers, graphic designers, or voice over artists, you’ve more than likely stumbled upon Fiverr.com. If you haven’t, continue reading!

Fiverr isolates itself from other contracting websites and freelance services out on the web because the idea is very simple, buy or sell services for $5.00. Never have I had so much fun searching a website for services I need; whether it’s a logo or a promo video. There are also goofy services that provide the fun factor for visitors.

Other services require sellers to submit extensive preliminary information, or buyers that need to win a bid on a service before they can move forward. Fiverr is very cut-and-dry.

Similar to other hot start-ups that have gone viral, there are a multitude of copy-cat micro-contracting websites out there comparable to Fiverr; however is that such a bad thing? Competition breeds innovation.

Fiverr is as simple as, signing up, filling out a few fields, and adding your gig.

A gig, which is what Fiverr calls the services added by the thousands of people that add them every day, is what allows the buyer and seller to meet for the first time. This is the gateway to a possible long-term business relationship.

As someone that’s used Fiverr for over six months, I can attest to the fact that I have built a plethora of great relationships by offering my voice over services for $5.00.

That’s what makes Fiverr so special! While every service or product may be priced at $5.00, Fiverr has grown to allow popular sellers the options to give buyers more bang for their bucks. For instance, a seller that originally sold high school tutoring for $5.00 per 30 minutes would now be given the option to provide more time for a higher price. For this to be done for those that don’t have extra options, the seller needs to sell multiple gigs, which has also become a prominent way in how deals are made.

Fiverr doesn’t allow buyers and sellers to compose business deals outside of their service; if sellers provide their e-mail addresses, IM usernames, or other personal contact details (other than their name), they are violating Fiverr’s terms of service agreement.

A lot of this reasoning has Fiverr making $1.00 per sale, a 20% commission for every gig sold, however they also want to protect users’ privacy too.

Fiverr also takes advantage of a great feedback system. For every gig that’s sold and completed, buyers may comment and provide a thumbs up to the seller for their stellar work, or a thumbs down for work that wasn’t delivered on time or completed as they stated; sellers may also rate buyers too. If enough feedback is given, this typically increases a seller’s chance to sell more gigs.

Talking about the competitive edge of people doing things that normally cost more money for a cheaper price, Fiverr is still a great way to get your foot in the door with potential clients. If you work on a customer’s logo, or perhaps you are a voice over artist working on a commercial for someone, you are trying to shape a future relationship with that client to receive more work. First impressions are important, and this is very true in how Fiverr’s infrastructure operates.

Fiverr may prohibit sellers from initiating deals on the outside while using their personal messaging system; however it is very easy to contact sellers in other ways. Fiverr knows they can’t perfectly prevent buyers and sellers from talking outside of their messaging system, however getting your foot in the door using the system is imperative.

To try the service out, be sure to visit www.fiverr.com and sign up! I am sufficiently sure that most of you will be hooked, as I know I am! It is also an extraordinary way to make a bit of money on the side, or even for a living in some sellers’ cases!

Self-employed singer-songwriter, Sami Eldebs, thanks to Johnny P’s sister, joined the fun to entertain for nearly an hour, performing a couple of his personal songs, and a plethora of great covers you all know & love! We thank Sami for taking the time to put on this concert for us! The setlist is below.

Website- The Hiking Humanitarian

Even in a downed economy, “The Hiking Humanitarian,” Dr. Kirk Sinclair is taking strides to promote public philanthropy and community involvement. For nearly an hour, Dr. Sinclair joined JJ on his 99th episode of the show, “A Session With JJ,” to spread the word with what he is doing. As a respected writer, speaker, teacher, author, and a humanitarian, Dr. Sinclair wants it to be known that our society can change; to become one filled with caring citizens. JJ had the pleasure to talk with “The Hiking Humanitarian” as he asked him about his thoughts on where the middle class stands at this point in time. The economy isn’t in the greatest of shape, which has lead to many people either believing there’s only an upper class, or a lower class, however Dr. Sinclair has something to say about this.

Tune into this great 99th episode of the program to hear some stories that Dr. Sinclair has heard along the way as he hikes 5,000 miles across the United States of America. So many people talk about taking a road trip, or perhaps hiking across country, and Dr. Sinclair is doing it! Find out what state he’d like to visit the most, and much more!

Do you think your problems out like a child? If you do, don’t be ashamed of it, because so many others do too! Millions of people revert to their past when it comes to negative emotions, and it can become very devastating to one’s life. What can you do? Well, for one, you are in the right place, as on this 98th episode of “A Session With JJ,” workshop leader, licensed psychologist, and the author of the book, “Mindfulness And The Art Of Choice: Transform Your Life,” Dr. Karen Sherman, joins JJ to talk about transforming one’s life! The term, “auto-pilot,” is brought up to highlight the fact that there are a lot of people that simply exist, rather than function from day to day. Are you one of them? Are you living a stressful lifestyle? Are you depressed and find it difficult to get up and out of bed every morning? If you feel you need a pep-talk, this episode will help you out! Dr. Karen has over 25 years of professional expertise behind her, which will prove to be well worth it for many that listen to this show as they seek some advice!

Website- Know The Name; Know The Person

Have you ever wondered what your name means? Do you have certain psychological images of certain names? Names that make you think of pretty people; names that represent smart people; names that constitute shady people? Let’s face it, if we could determine the personality of someone simply by their name, life would be a whole lot easier, wouldn’t it? Episode #96 of “A Session With JJ” pursues the discernment encompassing the science of neimology, which is the study of the placement of letters in a name, and how they connect with one another, created by educator and former school administrator, Sharon Wyeth, as she joins JJ for this 96th episode of of the show!

The two will delve into why “neimology” is different from other theories involving the attempts at understanding people, as well as whether there is any sort of etymological connection between the science of “neimology,” our names, and our parents, since they are the ones that give us our names, plus more!

Watch & listen as Sharon wows JJ on the air, literally! JJ provides no information about himself before the show, so keep that in mind when listening to how Sharon shapes JJ up! It is quite amazing!

On episode #94 of "A Session With JJ," author, counselor, and pet expert, Dr. Diane Pomerance joins JJ to talk about the stress pets go through when kids go back to school..

Guest- Dr. Diane Pomerance
Website- Animal Companions And Their People

In this interestingly-unique 94th episode of “A Session With JJ,” the combination of kids going back to school and pets are met as writer, teacher, counselor, pet expert, and the author of the book, “Our Rescue Dog Family Album,” Dr. Diane Pomerance, joins JJ to talk about the stress that is placed on pets around the house when the kids are shuttled off to school. Dr. Pomerance and JJ also touch on the differences between animals and human beings, as JJ brings up the recent Northeast earthquake, and how JJ’s cat seemed to sense that something was going to happen before the earthquake even occurred, so you’ll want to listen to Dr. Pomerance has to say about the difference in say, hearing levels/range in a dog or cat as opposed to a human being, etc.

The attachment that people have to their pets can be, and are in many cases, comparable to the attachment they have to humans, which just goes to show how much pets mean to us, and when they pass on, it can be extremely hard getting over it. Dr. Pomerance is a pet grief counselor, so she deals with with a lot of people going through the grieving of pet, or pets. This is brought up on the show, as well as an interesting segment of the session that revolves around the advancement in technology and its ability, or inability to allow animals to live longer and more fulfilling lives. What does Dr. Pomerance have to say about this? You’ll have to tune in to find out!
