State Minister of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Mr. Junaid Ahmed Palak has said that Block Chain can be one of the investment sectors in Bangladesh. On 6th October he made the remarks at a press conference on "International Block chain Olympiad (IBCOL-2021)" to be held in Dhaka from October 8 at the BCC Auditorium of ICT Tower in Agargaon, Dhaka. Junaid Ahmed Palak said, "Startups in our country are having a lot of success and have brought in over 500 million foreign investments in the last five years."

Palak said universities and educational institutions need to come forward to encourage block chain and include block chain in their curriculum. We are going to set up more than 5,000 new Sheikh Russell Digital Labs so that the teenagers of this country can know about a futuristic technology like block chain.

He further said that a state-of-the-art Sheikh Russell Digital Lab is being set up in the country to empower the present and future generations of children and adolescents in future technology. The country has already set up 8,000 "Sheikh Russell Digital Labs". More 5,000 Labs and 300 "Schools of the Future" are being set up. There are also plans to set up 10,000 more "Sheikh Russell Digital Labs" in the future and another 5,000 Sheikh Russell Digital Labs at an early stage. Through which millions of students are being educated in information technology.

"We want to build a middle-income country in 2031, a high-middle-income country in 2031 and a developed Bangladesh in 2041," Palak said. The specific target set by the people's leader Sheikh Hasina is that now the GDP size of 350 billion dollars will be 700 billion dollars in 2031 and 1 trillion dollars in 2041. Now beside the income from our garment industry, the income of our expatriate workers, agriculture and all the other labor-dependent industries, Sheikh Hasina wants to build a knowledge-based society and a technology-based economy. And we have far-reaching plans for all of this. And as part of that plan, we chose "block chain technology."

Mentioning that digital Bangladesh is no longer a dream, the state minister said, 160 million people are now able to enjoy the benefits of Digital Bangladesh. In the last 12 years, the four pillars of the "ICT sector" have stood on a solid foundation under the leadership of Sajeeb Wazed Joy, the Prime Minister's Adviser on ICT. Around 1.5 million young people across the country are contributing to the ICT industry by working in the software, hardware and BPO sectors. In the last 12 years, it has been possible to create employment for 1.5 million young people, while the ICT industry, which was only 26 million Dollars before 12 years, has now grown to 1.3 billion Dollars.

Connected online, the president of the Hong Kong Block chain Society, Doctor Lawrence Ma thanked Bangladesh for successfully hosting the International Block chain Olympiad (IBCOL). He hopes that through this arrangement, it is possible to find advanced technological solutions through the use of block chain technology. Other guests were present at the press conference including the Executive Director and Additional Secretary of the Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) Md. Twelve winning teams of "Blockchain Olympiad Bangladesh 2021" are participating in this year's Bangladesh episode organized under the theme "Inspirational Empowerment and Innovation". The International Blockchain Olympiad (IBCOL) is specially organized every year for the younger generation. The much-anticipated Olympiad, which started in Hong Kong, is going to be held in Bangladesh for the first time outside Hong Kong. Students from all over the world are participating in this global competition to become winners. Prizes worth a total of more than 40,000 Dollars have been awarded to the winners. Many national and international block chain experts will join the event as judges and speakers. More than 50 teams from 12 countries are participating in this global competition from China, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Philippines, UAE, Iran, Indonesia, Netherlands, Nepal, Mongolia, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

5G in Bangladesh will be Launched Soon

Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar has said that 5G in Bangladesh will be launched through Teletalk on National Information and Communication Technology Day on 12th December or Great Victory Day on 16th December this year. He made the remarks while addressing a webinar titled '5G Ecosystem in Bangladesh and Upcoming Technologies' organized by Telecom Reporters Network Bangladesh-TRNB on 25 September, 2021.

5G services, which are able to deliver data speeds up to 50 times faster than 4G networks and serve as critical infrastructure for a range of industries. According to the posts and telecommunications minister, there would be no need to set up new towers or base transceiver stations (BTS) for the 5G network.

The Minister of Telecommunications said, "We have become confident by conducting successful tests of 5G." Where other countries are not thinking of rolling out, we are rolling out 5G. Time is needed to create the kind of environment that is needed to use 5G wireless technology.

"I will start the five-day rollout on December 12, National Information and Communication Technology Day or December 16, the Great Victory Day," he said. We will launch Five G with a conducive environment in hand. He also said the government has decided to auction FiveG spectrum within this years.

Mr. Mustafa Jabbar said, "We are not launching 5G in a hurry." Let those who have partners take advantage and let our people also take advantage of it. 90% of the demand is produced in Bangladesh. I don't think I was in awe of the sets. Mentioning that if 5G is introduced, the lifestyle will change, the minister said, new technologies will come. People need to be motivated when it comes to technology. In this case, people need to be made aware. The industrial factories should be prepared for the future technologies.

Speaking as the special guest on the occasion, BTRC Chairman Shyam Sundar Sikder said that 5G is being launched in the country through Teletalk this year. Preparations have been made for this. AKM Shahiduzzaman, BTRC commissioner and chairman of the 5G policy formulation and implementation committee, said 5G in Bangladesh would be launched in Dhaka within 2021 through Teletalk. The spectrum auction has been completed a few days ago which has created a balance. We will be able to provide services with the spectrum of any band. The BTRC commissioner also said that mobile phone manufacturers have been instructed to have a set that supports 5G.

A new project approved by the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) yesterday. Around Tk 2,200 crore project aims to take Teletalk's 4G network to rural areas and upgrade the existing core and transmission networks line to make it ready for the launch of 5G technology. The main activities of the project are to set up 500 private BTS and 2,500 shared towers, enhance the capacity of the existing 2,000 BTS, install 200 mobile BTS, and upgrade existing 1,000 2G and 3G BTS to 4G. "We will install 5G equipment on these BTS," said Mr. Jabbar, adding that once the just approved project was implemented, user capacity of Teletalk would be double.

Saheb Uddin, managing director (MD) of Teletalk, said that 5G in Bangladesh is going to be launched by December. There is that preparation. 5G will require handset capacity, fiber optic. Society will be transformed through this wireless technology. 5G will work in the field of medical, RMG, agriculture. We will initially launch 200 sites in Dhaka city, 5G equipment will be set up in these points. We will also go where the fiber optic connection will be smooth.

Bangladesh will Launch an Earth Observation Satellite

Work is underway to start work on Bangladesh's second artificial satellite very soon after it is finalized. The country's second satellite after Bangabandhu-1 will be an 'Earth Observation Satellite', which will help in surveying the vast oceans, including surveying the country's crop production and flood situation by taking live pictures of the land surface. Bangladesh Communication Satellite Company Limited - BCSCL, hopes that the government will be able to launch the country's second satellite in the current term. The government is considering buying and launching this satellite in the G2G (Government-to-Government) process.

Earth Observation Satellites are used to take pictures of different parts of the Earth's surface and to observe the Earth's surface. The country's first commercial satellite Bangabandhu-1 is a 'geostationary communication' satellite, which is only used for communication.

The BCSCL chairman said, “An agreement was reached with the French consulting firm Price-Water House Coopers for the launch of the country's second satellite. Based on the report of the consulting firm, we have decided that the second satellite will be Earth Observation Satellite." He said the satellite would provide various benefits, adding that it would help monitor the country's crop production, flood monitoring and monitoring the country's vast oceans.

Apart from working in the country, there is also an opportunity to earn money with this satellite. As the Middle East and Africa will be covered by the satellite, it will be possible to earn income by selling various data from those areas. Because not all countries have this type of satellite. In addition to geostationary communication satellites, there are different satellites for various purposes including communication, remote sensing, navigation, geocentric orbit type, polar satellites.

The main consultant for the design of the system of the country's first artificial satellite Bangabandhu-1 was the US-based 'Space Partnership International'. After that, the satellite system was bought from the French company Talis Elenia Space under a contract worth Tk 1,951.85 crore. On 12 May 2018, the Bangabandhu-1 satellite launched from the launch pad of the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida, USA. Bangladesh is the 57th country to launch a satellite. Six months after its launch, in November 2018, Bangladesh fully acquired the ownership and control of Bangabandhu Satellite-1.

The cost of launching this time will be less than what was spent to launch Bangabandhu-1. There will be no cost after the launch of the second one. It will not be necessary to rent orbital slots. It will not be too high above the surface. The cost of renting the slot will be saved. It is also called LEO or Low Earth Orbit Satellite (LEO satellite).

Bangabandhu-1 was located 36,000 km away from the launch site. Bangabandhu-1 satellite is addressed in an orbital slot at 119.1 East longitude. Bangladesh has leased the slot from the Moscow-based Inter-sputnik International Organization of Space Communications for 45 years.

More than 5 lac free-lancer entrepreneurs in Bangladesh are working in the online markets and earning around 100 million US dollars a year. In a letter sent to the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology is seeking incentive at the rate of 10 percent on the foreign exchange earnings of this potential sector.

Junaid Ahmed Palak, Minister of State in the concerned ministry, sent a semi-official letter to Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi on June 3 stating that cash incentives at the rate of 10 percent have been provided for exports of software, ITES and hardware in 2018 to boost exports in the ICT sector. Later which has been implemented through a circular number-3 issued by the Bangladesh Bank on February, 2018.

The circular mentions some services or products on the list of export assistance recipients, which, despite being performed by free-lancers but they don’t receive this incentive at the individual level. The letter said that if the income of the free-lancers was considered as a potential export sector and brought under cash assistance, more foreign exchange would come to the country through banking channels in a legal way.

Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has recently given instructions on the recognition of freelancers. According to him, the government is working on their benefits. The rationale for incentives on export earnings of free-lancers as a potential sector will also be examined.

ICT officials said that incentive facility is being given at the rate of 2 percent of Bangladeshi expatriate income. As a result, a large number of expatriates are sending foreign currency to the country through banking channels legally, which is contributing positively to economic growth. The corona epidemic has also brought a record amount of expatriate income to the country, which has allowed reserve money to be invested in large projects as well as lending to a neighboring country.

Similarly, ensuring income incentives for freelance workers will further increase foreign exchange reserves, which will help the country's economic development. Concerned parties say that after sending a letter to the finance ministry earlier emphasizing the importance of free-lancing sector, the ministry advised that the approval of the commerce ministry would be required for cash assistance in the export sector.

Then on June 3, the State Minister for Information and Communication Technology wrote a letter to the Commerce Minister in this regard. According to ICT officials, there is a lot of demand for Web Design and Development, App Development, Smartphone Apps, Graphic Design, Drop Shipping, UI / UX (user interface design), Article writing, Virtual Assistance etc. Online marketplaces also have a lots chance to work from home.

Besides, the job demand of Bangladeshi freelancers is increasing day by day as compared to competing countries like India and Sri Lanka. In addition to earning valuable foreign exchange, free-lancing is also playing a role in creating employment in the country through private enterprises. Besides, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is giving special importance to this sector as free-lancing can be done at home with the help of a computer or laptop with internet connection without any major investment

On November 2021, the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the ID card issuance program to bring free-lancer entrepreneurs on a platform to recognize their profession. This ID card will be able to verify the legal validity and amount of foreign exchange earned by freelancers.

Number of internet users has increased in Bangladesh during the Corona virus (Covid-19) period. Demand for Broadband internet has also grown significantly as a result of recent NEWS, various issues, online business growing etc. Considering the increasing of internet users, the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) is going to launch internet service across the whole country under the slogan 'One Country, One Rate'.

If this service is launched, the price of broadband internet will be the same in the whole country including the capital Dhaka. There will be three packages for internet users. BTRC will announce the price of these packages in a program soon. This information has been known from the relevant sources.

According to NEWS regarding the price of the three packages, a maximum of TK 500 per month may be fixed in the first package.

Speed 5 Mbps/sec for monthly TK 500 only

Speed 10 Mbps/sec for monthly TK 800 only

Speed 20 Mbps/sec for monthly TK 1200 only

Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) fixed the rates after multiple meetings with International Internet Gateway, Nationwide Telecommunication Transmission Network, International Terrestrial Cable and Internet Service Providers.

According to the BTRC, this uniform price of Tk 500 for 5 megabits per second (Mbps) of broadband internet a month to be followed by all internet service providers (ISPs) across the country.

Brig Gen Md Nasim Parvez, director general of the BTRC, presented the tariff plan as part of the "One Country One Rate" initiative at a program in the capital on 6th June 2021 where Post and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar inaugurated it.

Among others, Post and Telecommunications Secretary Md Afzal Hossain, BTRC Chairman Shyam Sunder Sikder, Vice Chairman Subrata Kumar Maitra, ISPAB President Aminul Hakim, BTCL Managing Director Rafiqul Matin, and Fiber at Home Managing Director Moinul Haque Siddiqui were present.

1. The e-passport application form can be filled online or can be downloaded in PDF format.

2. No documents need to be attested in case of e-passport application.

3. No photo attachment and attestation will be required in the e-passport form.

4. The application form has to be filled as per National Identity Card (NID) or Online Birth Registration (BRC) Certificate.

5. Minor applicants (under 18 years of age) who do not have National Identity Card (NID) must specify the National Identity Card (NID) number of their father or mother.

6. National Identity Card (NID) or Online Birth Registration (BRC) Certificate should be submitted at the following age-

6 (A). Online Birth Registration (BRC) Certificate if under 18 years of age.

6 (B). National Identity Card (NID) or Online Birth Registration (BRC) Certificate of 18-20 years

6 (C). National Identity Card (NID) is required if above 20 years of age. However, Online Birth Registration (BRC) certificate will be acceptable in case of application from Bangladesh Mission abroad.

8. In case of adoption / guardianship, the order issued by the Department of Security Services, Ministry of Home Affairs has to be submitted along with the passport application.

9. The application should be submitted to the concerned departmental passport and visa office / regional passport office / Bangladesh Mission abroad at present address.

10. The validity of e-passport for all applications below 18 years and above 65 years will be 05 years and 48 pages.

11. Relevant technical certificates (such as: doctor, engineer, driver etc.) need to be uploaded / added.

12. If applicable, relevant GO / NOC / Certificate / Retirement Leave Order (PRL Order) / Pension Book should be uploaded / added which should be uploaded on the respective Website of the issuing authority.

13. If applicable, marriage certificate / marriage certificate and in case of divorce, divorce certificate has to be submitted.

14. Other charges (if any) including VAT at the rate fixed on the fee applicable to the application within the country will be payable in addition. The fee prescribed by the government will also be payable in case of application abroad.

15. Applications for diplomatic passports must be submitted to the Consular and Welfare Wing of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or to the Head Office of the Department of Immigration and Passports.

16. When applying for a new passport from a foreign mission, the contact address of Bangladesh should be mentioned in the permanent address column.

17. In case of urgent passport application (new issue) applicant must collect the police clearance certificate on own initiative and submit it along with the application.

18 (A). If a police clearance is submitted with the application for obtaining an urgent passport within the country, the passport will be issued within 2 working days subject to all other information being correct.

18 (B). If a police clearance is submitted with the application for obtaining an emergency passport within the country, the passport will be issued within 7 working days provided that all other information is correct.

18 (C). If the police clearance is submitted with the application for the purpose of obtaining a regular passport within the country, the passport will be issued within 15 working days provided that all other information is correct.

19. At the time of application, original National Identity Card (NID), Online Birth Registration (BRC) and, if applicable, Technical Certificate, Government Order (GO) / NOC must be submitted / submitted.

20 In case of re-issuance of passport, original passport has to be displayed.

Using mobile phone has become one of the regular parts of our life. Some mobile users feel serious disturbances when they receive one after one promotional sms offer from their operators. The Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) which is the regulatory body to monitor all such type of activities in the country, said that the 'Do Not Disturb (DND)' service will stop the flow of promotional SMS on mobile phones. User now can stop thiese services if they don’t want.

All the mobile operators have introduced the options of blocking such type of promotional SMS offer for their customers following instructions of BTRC.

On April 24th, 2021, the BTRC announced in a statement that promotional SMS / campaigns help mobile phone operators learn about the latest services and offers. But it seems annoying to get promotional SMS / campaigns from the field especially to some customers. Therefore, 'Do Not Disturb' service can be launched to further improve the quality of customer service.

I have received an SMS from BTRC saying that ‘If you do not want to receive promotional SMS on your mobile, you can start the 'Do Not Disturb' service by dialing the USSD code, otherwise please don’t’.

Birth registration certificate is the first official document for a person. According to law all union council, municipality, cantonment board, city corporations and Bangladesh missions are act as birth registration registrar. Following the act of 2004, the government also adopted corresponding birth and death registration rules in 2006.For determination of Digital Bangladesh, Government has initiated Online Birth Registration System (BRIS) in the country since October 2010 and gradually moving away the manual system.

The Global Smartphone production has been the lowest in the last 5 years. Due to the present Corona Virus COVID-19 Pandemic situation, global Smartphone production was the lowest in the first three months of this year, from January to March. According to market research firm Trend Force, smartphone production fell 10 percent this year where total number of unit is around 280 million units.

The Corona Virus epidemic cited factory closures, shortages of labor and equipment causes disruptions to Smartphone production, according to Trend Force research. The market research firm says the epidemic is now affecting demand in the Smartphone market, pushing major economies around the world.

According to a report, South Korean tech giant Samsung captured 23.3 percent of the whole market in the first quarter of this year. Samsung produced 65.3 million units of smartphones in the first quarter which is down 9.9 percent from the previous year. The company is under intense pressure from Chinese Smartphone brands and manufacturers. However, the first coronavirus exposure did not have much impact on them this quarter, as the company's addition factories were located in India and Vietnam.

China's Huawei is in the second place with 16.4 percent share of the smartphone market. The report said that demand for the brand in China's local market has begun to improve. Huawei has produced 48 million units of phones due to their local market demand.

According to Trend Force, the US Giant company Apple is in the third position in the present Smartphone market. Apple holds 13.5 percent of the smartphone market share. Apple has produced 37.9 million units of iPhones only due to a shortage of work forces and parts, which is 8.7 percent less than in the first quarter of last year.

Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo occupy the next three positions in the Smartphone market share. Xiaomi has a market share of 8.8 percent, Oppo has 8.6 percent and Vivo has 8.2 percent.

The Trend Force report says, Global smartphone production for 1Q20 fell by 10% YoY to around 280 million units, the lowest in five years. Global production for 2Q20 is now estimated to register another YoY drop of 16.5% to 287 million units, the largest decline on record for a given quarter. TrendForce forecasts total yearly production volume of 1.24 billion units, an 11.3% decrease YoY.

Bangladesh is going to be connected with the third submarine cable for the development and to provide better Internet services in the country using 5G technology. The government expects that the connected submarine cable will be a milestone in economic development and growth in the age of communication technology. The government will sign an agreement to join the international SEA-ME-WE-6 consortium in April 2020.

Bangladesh will have access to the main cable of the submarine from June 2023. It will meet the demand of the Internet bandwidth up to 2030. Bangladesh Submarine Cable Company Limited-BSCCL sources said that Bangladesh has become a member of the SEA-ME-WE-6 consortium which has been formed for the new submarine cable line. The cable will be connected to the SEA-ME-WE-6 consortium between Singapore and Sri Lanka.

Through the consortium, Bangladesh will get a total of 5 terabytes of bandwidth internet from Cox's Bazar to Singapore and 5 terabytes from Cox's Bazar to France. To get connected with it, the distance from the Cox's Bazar Landing Station to the main line beneath the deep sea will be 1850 km long. The connection will cost Tk 690 crore. Almost 89 percent of the amount will be spent on cable only. The final decision will be taken at a high level meeting soon. Bangladesh will sign the original agreement with the consortium in April. A memorandum of understanding was signed last September for this.

In this regard, Postal and Telecommunications Minister Mostafa Jabbar said, "We are now in the age of five-G technology. But still we are using low quality broadband facilities. In this reality, the third submarine cable will be a milestone in technology development and economic growth”. The final agreement to join the international consortium will be done in April. As a result, Bangladesh will connect to the main cable of the third submarine in 2023. This connection will meet our bandwidth demand for the next 10 years. The minister also added that Bangladesh has made huge technological progress. With it, the new submarine cable will meet our long-term demand.

The cable distance of the Singapore-France connection to the SEA-ME-WE-6 consortium is 20 thousand kilometers. Apart from Bangladesh, other 16 countries will be connected to this information super highway. Three companies will be connected from China. There will be 20 landing stations. Bangladesh joined the consortium on September last year. The main route between Singapore to France will be 1850 km away from Bangladesh. This distance is the route of Bangladesh itself. And Bangladesh will bear the full cost of installing its own route cable.

Members of the SEA-ME-WE 6 consortium will collectively pay for the main line, which is located between Singapore-France. Basically, Bangladesh's own station will be set up in the middle of the Bay of Bengal between Singapore and Sri Lanka. All the consortium work will be done by the company. The company that will get the job of SEA-ME-WE 6, the tender evaluation and finalization program of the consortium in Singapore, will be finalized after doing a pre-survey.

The cable would come from the branching station and connect to the landing station of Cox's Bazar. This present landing station is for SEA-ME-WE 4, which is the country's first submarine cable landing station. This will be extended and will be used for SEA-ME-WE 6. The meaning of SEA-ME-WE is Southeast Asia - Middle East and Western Europe. The cable is placed through this area and the name of each area is connected.

For the last time in the SEA-ME-WE 5 line connected countries of this area were Bangladesh, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, UAE, Djibouti, Egypt, Turkey, Italy, France, Myanmar and Yemen. These 19 countries are linked through 19 landing points.

Internet users and demand is increasing day by day in Bangladesh. To meet the future demand of internet bandwidth this SEA-ME-WE line 6 will definitely play an important role in the technology and communication industry of Bangladesh.

China-based global Smartphone manufacturer Oppo launches its tenth factory in Bangladesh. The company will manufacture 1 million mobile phones written 'Made in Bangladesh' from this factory which is located in Gazipur. For the first time, the company has released two Smartphone models Oppo A5S and Oppo A1K, which were launched on 1 November 2019 in Bangladesh. Another two new models which are currently available on China market, Oppo A9-2020 and A5-2020 have been preparing to be launched in the country within next December.

In addition, to start motherboard manufacturing setup using SMT machine is currently in progress in the factory which will be start in January 2019. After meet the demand of the country, the company has plans to export Oppo ‘Made in Bangladesh’ Smartphone.

Oppo Bangladesh office said that with the Smartphone manufacturing facility inside the country, customers will get more models of Oppo Smartphone in the market at more affordable price. At present Made in Bangladesh models A1K Smartphone is selling at 10,990 Taka which was previously 12,990 Taka, and the A5S model is selling at 13,990 Taka only which was 16,990 Taka. This Oppo factory unit will manufacture several models of Smartphone. Customers will get new handset easily with new and advanced features.

By the name Benli Electronic Enterprise Company Limited, this Smartphone factory has created employment opportunities for more than 200 people, which will increase further.

At present, there are 162 million mobile phone users in Bangladesh and among them 93 million are mobile internet users. China is planning to establish an economic zone on the moon. The country will make connection between the economic zones from the earth to the moon by the 2050. Earth based Economies are not may be so much enough as China has high ambitious, that’s why they have planned to extend their economy on the Moon. The project could bring in around $10 trillion. Many netizens were thrilled by the news.

Space Scholars says that China can gain a lot, such as developing the space travel industry or conducting experiments on the moon. Bao Weimin, head of the China Science and Technology Commission, said that the new zone will cover areas of space near Earth, the Moon, and in between. The China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC) will implement the project as part of China's National Space Program.

Bao said that such project is very economical because low cost space based communication will be developed. He also said that the construction of the core technology will be completed within the year of 2030. And they will be able to invent easier communication technology to the moon by the year 2040. By the middle of this century China is dreaming to start full production in this new economic zone on the Lunar space.

Recently, China has been conducting extensive research and survey programs based on space. Last July, a Chinese private company i-Space successfully launched a rocket. Last year, a China Lunar Rover landed successfully on the surface of the Moon.

In the year 2016, the deputy commander-in-chief of China's manned space program Zhang Yulin told to media that they had plans to explore Earth-moon space. In May 2018, China launched a relay satellite to set up a communications link between the Earth and then planned Chang'e-4 lunar probe.

China is moving fast forward day by day in the field of Space research and technology. The CASC is dedicating itself to establish China as a super power on the space, continuously carrying out the national major scientific and technical programs such as Manned Spaceflight, Lunar Exploration, Beidou Navigation and High-Resolution Earth Observation System.

To solve this type of problem, the government is going to introduce a system whereby the location of the car will be known from the time of arrival to the destination. This facility will be available in the country through Intelligent Transportation System-ITS.

Deployment of ITS on the roads and highways will make it possible to identify and control the vehicle's location and speed. This is the first time the Department of Roads and Highways (RHD) of the Government of Bangladesh has taken such an initiative in the country. Initially it will be launched as a pilot project on a single highway soon. All the rest highways and district roads will be covered by one after another.

The ITS is a very effective initiative for smooth travel and road safety. Although this system is working fine in overseas, now it is being introduced in Bangladesh. ITS is an advanced application which aims to provide innovative services relating to different modes of transport and traffic management and enable users to be better informed and make safer, more coordinated, and 'smarter' use of transport networks.

As per plans of the government, the highways of the country are going upgrade from two lanes to four lanes, six lanes and eight lanes. After up-gradation of the Dhaka-Chittagong national highway into four lane, everyone thought that it would reduce traffic congestion. But there is still traffic congestion on this highway. The same is true for all highways in the country including Dhaka-Mymensingh, Dhaka-Tangail.

As a result, no one can ensure when it is possible to reach the destination after the journey. Hour after hour vehicles waits on the road. If there is an accident happens somewhere, the situation become worse. To overcome such situation, ITS will be set up in various places of the country. The observation rooms will be located in important places, including the capital city Dhaka. With cameras and cables installed in the street, you can tell from far away whether there is a problem on the road.

The biggest problem with vehicles on the highway is reckless driving or high speed. The speed of the vehicle can be controlled from a distance using ITS. Normally vehicle moves at a speed of 80-90 km per hour but it need to be reduced for rain. The ITS can bring down the speed to 40 or 50 in such case. Apart from this, the authorities can take any action as they know the exact position of the vehicle.

If an accident happens at anywhere on the streets, it can be reported to the highway police or traffic police immediately. Proper action can be taken. The injured will be removed from the car or transported to the hospital if needed. In addition, if a car crosses the speed limit on a road, it can be observed. If huge number of vehicles drives on a single road, the department will then provide direction for other vehicles to use an alternate route.

The ITS can save details including picture of a vehicle on the road. Because of this, when a car is hijacked or lost it will be easier to find stolen car using ITS. Crimes will be reduced on road and highways if this method is introduced. Not only that, with the help of this method it is possible to control the movement of non-fitness or extra weighing cargo. If any vehicle violates the law, the police can take immediate action and send cases and letters to be punished and sentenced. There is no need to stop the car without special reasons on the way. The work of a responsible policeman can be easier if this method is introduced.

A team is working to launch the Intelligent Transport System-ITS primarily on the Dhaka-Chittagong or Dhaka-Tangail highways which has been funded by a South Korean company KOICA (Korea International Cooperation Agency). A KOICA team is now conducting two highways inspections based on a proposal in the 2017. Later, it was decided that this method would be started on Dhaka-Chittagong highway. A meeting was held at the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges last month. This project will start as a pilot project to implement ITS. After its success the RHD wants to bring all the highways and district roads under this system. During the period from 2020 to 2023, KOICA and the Bangladesh government will finance together to implement the ITS project.

The ITS aims to improve traffic safety, relieve traffic congestion, reduce air pollution, increase energy efficiency, and improve homeland security. If this system can be implemented to the roads and highways of Bangladesh, it will be a smart achievement in the communication sector of the country.

Facebook's Artificial Intelligence (AI) Research Team has developed a tool that can fool the Facial Recognition System. This will prevent identifying anyone faces by mistake from a video. This system is called 'de-identification' system. It also works on live video. The main facial feature of a video's content is changed using machine learning in the system.

A report by famous tech website VentureBeat says, face recognition may cause privacy issues. In addition, there may be abuse of technology such as changing the facial appearance of the video. Facebook's new tool will prevent such type of misuse. Earlier the de-identification system used on images.

This tool will be presented at a conference called ‘International Conference on Computer Vision’ in Seoul, South Korea, next week. The tool of facial recognition has been announced when $ 35 billion class action lawsuit against Facebook is not over.

According to an IANS report, Facebook has had a $ 35 billion class-action lawsuit in the US state of Illinois. Facebook requested to dismiss the facial recognition related lawsuit case in the state. But a three-member of San Francisco judge panel rejected Facebook’s appeal.

The complaint stated that Facebook did not seek permission before identifying people images by scanning of Illinois people. They did not even know how long that information would be stored on Facebook. Facebook has begun mapping their facial identities since the beginning of the 2011.

If Facebook loses in this case, then they have to pay every person a fine from $ 1,000 to $ 5,000. For total 7 million users FaceBook will have to pay around $ 35 from their pocket.

The judge in the court said that facial recognition software violates a person's personal affairs and factual preferences. This violates the Illinois Bio-metric Information Privacy Act.

Google has recently claims to have most developed and advanced Quantum Computer, which for the first time achieved 'quantum supremacy'. That is, Google has surpassed all conventional computers in terms of computing calculations or performance. Recently the BBC published news release regarding this. Research articles have also been published in the ‘Nature’ journal.

What is Quantum Computer:

A Quantum Computer can solve many complex problems of quantum mechanism easily. In order to solve the same problem, a super computer takes hundreds of thousands of years. This is called quantum supremacy. When an organization or a country will be able solve such complex problems in a very short time using quantum computers, it will be said that they have achieved quantum supremacy.

Google has made a sycamore quantum processor and this Google-made quantum processor is capable of completing a specific task within 200 seconds while it will take thousand years to complete the same task using world's best supercomputer. Researchers and engineers have been trying to build quantum computers for decades and they have announced that such a computer will be far ahead of the speed.

In the binary system, the numbers are only one and two (1 and 2). With this binary majority, all kinds of work are done by the present computer system. However 0 and 1 cannot be represented at the same time. Quantum computers are far ahead in this step compared to traditional computers.

Google has claimed that a quantum computer can do the work that is not possible using a conventional computer. Researchers compared this invention to the discovery of the first aircraft of the Wilbur Wright brothers in 1903. This is the beginning of fantasy. However, it will take more time to get the full benefits from this computer. Google's quantum computer information leaked last month. It claims that Google has already created a quantum computer.

Power of Quantum Computer:

Quantum computers have been a widely discussed term in the technology world for many years. It is said that anyone who can reach this computer will be the controller of the whole world.

The special chip called 'Sycamore' consists of a two-dimensional array of 54 transmon qubits (the basic unit of quantum computers), where each qubit is tunably coupled to four nearest neighbors, in a rectangular lattice. Qubits can perform many times more than traditional computer bits.

Advantages of Quantum Computer:

Quantum computers have many advantages. It does not solve many mathematical problems. According to scientists, quantum computers will be able to solve the problems that traditional computers have in order to solve very complex problems. As a result, quantum computers can revolutionize everywhere - from pharmaceuticals to oil industries.

Particularly complex mathematical problems in physics and chemistry can be solved quickly. New drugs will be invented using Quantum Computer. Commercial algorithms of financial institutions can be further improved. Even the early forms of artificial intelligence that scientists are working can be improved larger scale.

Disadvantages of Quantum Computer:

There are risks. If an advanced quantum computer created, all the security of the current Internet of Things could be collapse like a house of playing cards. British famous newspaper The Economist says quantum computers will be able to do whatever they want in any organization or company. The personal information of billions of Internet users across the world can be taken into their own memory. The government database can be hacked. Undue control can be imposed in the banking system. State defense system can be turned off if desired. Considering these aspects, many do not even hesitate to call it a "terrible" computer.

Digital Device and Innovation Expo 2019 | Made in Bangladesh

For the first time the 'Digital Device and Innovation Expo-2019' under the title “Made in Bangladesh” is being organized in the country. The three days expo will begin on Monday (October 14th 2019) at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center in the capital city Dhaka. The organizers of the event announced and highlighted the latest preparations for the event on 13th October. Prime Minister’s ICT Affairs Adviser Sajeeb Wazed Joy will inaugurate the exhibition.

More than two hundred stalls and pavilions have been organized in eight different zones under the title of 'Made in Bangladesh'. Around 200 exhibitors will participate in this event. Exhibitions will be open from 10.00 am to 8.00 pm daily for everyone. Registration is free for everyone. Various seminars and exhibitions for visitors will be organized on the fair.

This is going be one of the mega digital events of this year. The ICT Minister Junaid Ahmed Palak was present as a chief guest at the announcement. He said the background of the expo was created at the second meeting of the Digital Taskforce held on August. The Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina spoke of a dream. That was - digital devices will be made in our country and those products will be export abroad by the 'Made in Bangladesh' tag line.

The minister said 'We took that challenge. Since then I have been working on this expo, led by the Prime Minister's ICT Advisor Sajeeb Wazed Joy and this is going to be real.’

Referring to the government's various initiatives in the preparation of digital devices, the Minister said that to innovate digital devices, we have to pay high import tariff on different types of raw material. The government has reduced the tariffs on the import of such raw materials. Some of which dropped down to zero.

As a result, digital device manufacturers have grown in the country in recent years. Many of them have already begun production and export. Through this, a large number of jobs are going to be created for our younger generation.

Hosne Ara Begum, chairman of the Expo co-organizer, Bangladesh High Tech Park Authority, said, ‘For the first time we are organizing together with BASIS. We are now much more capable in ICT. That's what we want the world to know. At the same time I want to make the younger generation more involved with ICT.’ The BCS president Shahid-Ul Munir, said ‘We are proud to be a partner with the event. We believe some great initiatives will come up through this 'Digital Device and Innovation Expo-2019.

Among others, the BASIS President Syed Almas Kabir, E-CAB President Shami Kaiser, ICT Secretary NM Ziaul Alam, Project Director of a2i Abdul Mannan also spoke on the occasion.
