Jimi has now a little sister, She was born yesterday at 9:55

- in the same time jimi had an accident in the daycare, and

almost lost his front teeth, :-/ ... it was a rough day, with lots of program...

and the driving conditions ...were "interesting"...

even this didnt go so well, the result was pretty ok.

the paint wasnt so dry when i took the wheel at home,

so theres some flaws :-( but the ghia looks good anyways.

i think it looks just the way that it should be. :-)

the fooks fakes are just great, especially in "detailed" mode.

the front is too narrow for my taste, and its so low that

...well its too low to drive, as much as i do

have to think a bit, ...let it speak to me...

the rear is next. have to detail the rest of the wheels.

and i have to put the engine also to the ghia.

the 2012 cruiser will be this one. and the race car, the black one.

thats a plan. veljekset hamara panel van will be sleeping... (in 2012)

( have to make some detailing, to the rears too...)

...shoes to choose...

17 inch AR torques, would be cool also. ;-)

but ill run the "classsics"

The ex-sony-explod - ghia is back!

and it looks pretty awesome! the (weld magnum) wheels looks good,

with that black paint...as the red-white (TMI) interior,

and the oatmeal (www.paruzzi.fi) carpeting.

the wheels ... looks almost too good to drive in the streets?

mighty fine ... wow!

Paruzzi oatmeal carpeting, Gene Berg shifter,

...but othervise mostly stock-look.

is it running? or the tires have to be smoking... :-)

looks great! that thing doesn´t need a wing.

ok, the tires are a bit skinny, but so what.

theres some hardcore technic in here!

the seats are loose, and the door panels are off.

(inside joke) but the ex-sony-exploid ghia is pretty much coming together...

its currently in the interior shop, but in good hands.

i´ll put some picks of the metamorphosis... in here...

the show years... with some serious equipment...

but that was in the wrong end... this is my first "better" ghia.

in the wasa-years it even went to the strip...

my vision was to make the body black,

with red and white interior... with new 1 original type wiring

(compared to the x3 wiring that was found in the car)

stereo parts off, and a more street racer attitude.

... show and go. but needs to be a driver.

... so take the ghia and take off allmost everything

it looked partially nice, when it was just washed, but

it really wasnt... :-) trust me.

heavy loudspeakers, heavy boxes...

aaaahhh... theres some nice wiring.

and some foam, everywhere... no wonder the

door locks didnt work so well....

its been a while... jimi was pretty small boy...

...and sometimes even sleeped pretty well...

heheh, ok, this time i got things a bit forward...

in the "no cuts – no glory" way.

one rear valance got out of the way :-)

and i tryed the pop-up a bit higher,

but it needs a bit tweaking, welding and a lot of magic. :-)

it looks promising though... i also started to lower the rear,

but the bolts are pretty tought to open, when your

muscles are 50% of the old ones. ;-(

i also took one old front light to get the some mock ups,

and i have some ideas of some smaller details too..

what would look also cool... but that comes later...

have to locate more old school fuel tank cap.

but if nothing will show up, this will do fine.

these fookses, well, ....you will see pretty fast...

these are the openings that i wanted to try, :-) meow?

hmmmm... what to do with the headlights?
good for me i have a solution in monday. :-)

Thanks for nikke to show me this one, its just so beautiful, wow!

I dont know is this a 3d model or real one, but it sure is a classy one,

Singer has a silver one now that is also really beatifull,

but this narrowbody, with big wheels is gorgeus!
ok looks like its a scale mode, but a good one. except the mirror.
and some chrome trim, but it looks good though.

in the rear it doesnt need much, at least, no old style

rear lamps, these are great in here.

a guy with a die grinder and a

welding equipment is still needed. :-)

here... a M3 bmw "thing" is needed...

and some air ducts...

ok, no one wanted to buy it, so i had to spoil it!
...the other side is still like before...
this was "U-duckies" first day out,
rolling... with bigger boots on the left legs...

from this (before) ... turn the other cheek...

to a "These boots were made for walking over U"...

...cut some inches of the wheel arches,

some suspension-drop, flares, big wheels,

...some other "future tricks" etc... le voilà!

ok, some adjustment needed in here, ;-)

4 the bumper, headlights etc.

now its a FUGLY-DUCKling, with muscles.

ok, low enough - but not too low, wide enough also.

needs one inch spacers... to get the tyre to the right place.

now the rear and front is bolted to the drums/discs,

but due the lack of the arp studs, they are still missing some studs.

but this is going to look "correct-o-mundo" :-)

Have to admit that this kind of stuff seems to be too much for my health,

i lack power, and a lot!!!

as well the strenght, i´m totally exhausted... huh. needs to rest

dual-bolt pattern, 5-130 mm porsche, and 4,5" mopar bolt pattern, ARP race studs,

pretty long, but looks correct to the this application, i cut some 5 cm of the wheel arches,

to get more space. have to get a welder to make it pretty, ;-)

theres gonna be more tricks, when i have to power to carry on.

its getting a bit of BMW M3 looks

bus stop at kangasniemi...

I think it was the best weekend to take the busses to the

winter park, to the rest and maybe to some overhaul,

you´ll never know what happens in Laitinen Motorsport Zentrum :-)

driving the two 1960 splits in the highway seemed to be a pleasant view to

many commuters... i got a lot of "thumbs up´s"

the driving condiotions were pretty much ok, but sitting allmost 4 hours in a panel

without heat makes your knees and toes a bit cool...

but "twilight brothers" are used to differnt driving conditions...

You know...these were build to be driven, not paralyzed in a warm garage...

or trailered in a show... :-)

listening to good rock, and eating pork filé...

next day, back to vantaa & espoo, with lots of ideas...

for the 2012... BTW we didnt see my black ghia,

because its at the painters place & maybe after that it will go

to another shop to get its interior assembled... but thta another story.

i dont know, but it doesnt look right. somewhat too low,

have to have it a bit higher. and use a small spacer... maybe. lets see,

...how it will look when the front drops 7-10 cm. :-) or, what do you think?

1. i made some wheel upgrades as you might have seen.

2. major fog, in the cottage area, really a nice one,

3. had to cut all my hair off, due to the meds,

im losing my hair big time. :-( but who gives a shit.

im not sure how they should be painted,

(even i have had many 4,5 original fuchs sets)

my standards are not so high,

The chromed BRM wheels got also a touch of Black.
and yeah... they are with winter tyres ;-)

but ... the famous Fuchs detailer is the king,
to have nerves like steel

or some great way to use professional stuff + lots of know how,

how to do them right, BUT this is my first try to make,

foochs replicas look even better. nd i had to try the BRM ´s too ;-)

its not an easy task, if you ask from me. :-)

this is something that i want to do, a karmann ghia road racer, with flat grey/brownish paint, pop-up flares, 17 inch wheels, slammed, and with some attitude. even some mercedes slr / bmw m3 air ducts behind the front wheel arches would be great. heh heh, this body is bad enough to have some experiment. n´est pas?

have to get the brake parts from the machine shop, the arp-studs to the drums and disks, the suspension to some useful height, and then then some more tweaking, the body is next in the line, to have some new steel parts, and why not get a safety cage, welded to tie all things together. yeah! i get a good wibes from this. let me hear some comments...

karmann ghia 1960 - the super solid ghia part II.

My turn to be the "stunt-man mike",

and to drive the ghia, from the customs, to home. - to saukkola -

and back with the panel van... some 320 kilometers...

the poor ghia, was a bit frozen, and pretty much covered by humidity...

but othervise, after a bit of towing, it started, and run pretty well!

the 1100cc engine, runs like a gazell in the highway,

70 miles per hour....no problem.

the chassis is the best so far that i´ve been driven,

soft but stiff, goes well in the corners, and silent.

even there some marks of the 51 years of use, i have to say,

that this ghia is a nice driver, and a beautifull car.

the interior needs a bit of attention, but it will be awesome,

i´ll give thumbs up for this one!

the radio didnt work, but there was a barbara streisand

cassette in the glove box, and some letters too, :-)

heh, one thing that matters is the blinker switch,

it needs some attention. ...lets see what comes next?

thanks to my brother arttu, i GOTS lights again!!! woohoo!

and the van starts also from the ignition switch!!!

i was soooo happy, to get help to the electric problems!

the help came from "saukkola city"

... now i can go to the inspection... :-)

well, the master paln is to put a diesel-eberspärscher heater...

it will make a sauna, of the panel, but i really need some heat to the panel.

its getting cold. ...ok ... somewinter tyres will be also handy.
