			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Indeed if someone were to say they thought Yoga was just stretching after they saw a student leave a Yoga class and later on eating at McDonalds or something, they probably would be right.</p>
<p>Why?</p>
<p>Well, Yoga, in its entirety, includes a proper diet. One doesnt exist without the other. This is THE factor that anyone seriously interested in taking up Yoga must understand. If one wants to do Yoga, youve got to include all its principles.</p>
<p>When I started doing yoga some 6 years back, I did extensive research on the subject of diet and Yoga. Perhaps this was fate, as co-incidentally, this was around the time that an associate had told me to look into fasting and a natural diet as a means to cure my horrendous acne at that time.</p>
<p>I stumbled on a book called The Complete Illustrated book of Yoga by Swami Vishnu-Devananda, and this had a whole chapter on diet. What he explained here made it clear that as beneficial as most- if not all- yoga poses could be for overall health, if one constantly subsists on unhealthy foods, it defeats the purpose of exercising in the first place.</p>
<p>This is perhaps even more important in regards to Yoga.</p>
<p>Why? Well, Yoga is more than just a physical exercise as Meditation, Breathing Exercises and even some Poses such as the Peacock, Shoulder-Stand and the Sun Salutations are known to have an effect on the spiritual core of ones existence. This is rooted in ones solar plexus and forms the basis of the Kundalini or life-force power inherent in all humans. Remember, we are mainly physical bodies living in a Spiritual World.</p>
<p>Now keep that point in mind as I proceed to remind you of this quote and renowned cosmic law: You are what you eat Now, combine the gist of both factors and you should start to see the connection between how what you eat matters to your entire existence-physically and spiritually.</p>
<p>When you begin to seriously practice Yoga, it is advised that you also begin to watch what you eat. ALL the sages and pioneers of Yoga such as<br />
Swami Sivananda, Swami Vishnu-Devananda and BKS Iyengar have all attested to this fact.</p>
<p>Here is Sivanandas quote on the subject of diet and Yoga (and keep in mind he is arguably THE guru when it comes to the who is who of Yoga)</p>
<p>By the purity of food follows the purification of the inner nature<br />
Swami Sivananda.</p>
<p>In addition here is another quote that supports his comment</p>
<p>Without observing moderation of diet, if one takes to the Yogic practices, he cannot obtain any benefit but gets various diseases<br />
(Ghe. Sam. V-16).</p>
<p>Yoga has an adverse effect on yours and the spiritual forces around you, consequently eating what yoga sages coin as the Sattvic Diet (which co-incidentally is the mucus/disease free or alkaline diet of the alternative health fraternity) will be the best way to go.</p>
<p>Simply put, it is your fruits, roots and leafy vegetables (raw and properly cooked). This is the Yoga diet and this has to be included in your lifestyle if you seriously want to practice Yoga.</p>
<p>Is it a co-incidence that this is the exact diet prescribed in Gen 1: 29 in the Bible?<br />
Is it a co-incidence that this diet forms the basis of Hippocrates quote let your foods be your medicine?<br />
Is it a co-incidence this is the same diet that the drug-free fraternity labels as the best for delaying aging, having brighter eyes and complexion, better muscle tone and the like?<br />
<span id="more-595"></span><br />
I think not.</p>
<p>Heck, if you just want to do any kind of exercise and not just yoga, you will still enjoy a lot of benefits from such a dietetic lifestyle.</p>
<p>Ive read of several raw-vegan or vegetarian body-builders like Stephen Arlin, David Wolfe, Scott Brodie and Bill Pearl (A 4-time Mr. Universe contest winner) who do extremely well on a similar diet, so one will be on the right track eating as such and choosing any exercise they want.</p>
<p>So do you want to experience all that Yoga has to give? Then remember to include perhaps its most important principle for your overall health-the Yoga diet.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Hirsutism is defined as excessive and unwanted facial and/or body (say in the neck, chest and lower abdomen) hair in a male-like formulation. Estimates suggest that it affects between 5% and 15% of women, varying according to characteristics. At least 5% of women of reproductive age suffer from this ailment.<br />
It is a common issue causing significant social and psychological distress mainly among women, but modern diagnosis and treatment can surely take care of the problem.<br />
Causes of hirsutism<br />
Before we lunge into the probable causes of hirsutism it is better to remember that it is a sign of hyperandrogenism.<br />
The causes of increased androgen level in hirsutism include:<br />
Familial and idiopathic hirsutism<br />
These are common causes of hirsutism resulting from peripheral androgen goings-on. It begins in puberty and slowly steps forward. The patients have normal menses, normal testosterone level, 17alpha hydroxyprogesterone and DHEAS. The diagnosis stands on exclusion.<br />
Idiopathic cause-<br />
Idiopathic cause triggers hirsutism in 6% to 17% of hirsute women. Hirsutism occurs in the body where the circulating levels of androgens and ovulation are normal. The pathophysiological indicators are exaggerated peripheral 5 alpha reductase activity, altered androgen metabolism or different functioning androgen receptors.<br />
Excess secretion by the ovaries (For example tumors, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS))<br />
The most common example is polycystic ovary syndrome, which affects 6% women of the reproductive age bracket. Over 70% patients with PCOS have signs of hyperandrogenism. This is manifested by hyperandrogenemia and chronic anovulation.<br />
Polycystic Ovary Syndrome is typified by formation of follicular cysts, which are detected by ultrasound. PCOS is a combination of polycystic ovaries and other typical symptoms like hirsutism, amenorrhea or dysfunctional uterine bleeding, infertility, obesity, irregular menstrual cycles and acne.<br />
This is better diagnosed clinically rather than laboratory findings. The diagnosis of PCOS is based on exclusion, which means this disorder is attributed to patients whose body shows proof of ovulatory dysfunction supported by either clinical or biochemical evidence of hyperandrogenism.<br />
PCOS is a broad scale disorder with patients ranging from women having regular cycles who have hirsutism to those people who are anovulatory.<br />
Excess secretion by adrenal glands (Examples are congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH), Cushing s syndrome, tumors)<br />
Congenital adrenal hyperplasia, or CAH, is a gamut of inherited disorders of adrenal steroidogenesis. In this case diminished cortisol production results in overproduction of androgenic steroids. The common symptoms are acne, menstrual dysfunctions, hirsutism occurring in adolescence or adulthood.<span id="more-593"></span><br />
Cushings syndrome is caused by amplified production of adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) by the pituitary, adrenal carcinoma/adrenoma or secretion of ectopic ACTH. The clinical symptoms of Cushings syndrome are quite evident. People with macronodular hyperplasia are common prey to intense hirsutism.<br />
Ovarian or Adrenal Androgen secreting Tumors are rare triggers hirsutism/hyperandrogenism. These conditions are indicated by rapid virilization remote from menarche.<br />
A person may suffer from Hirsutism as a result of using exogenous pharmacologic agents including testosterone, anabolic steroids and danazol (Danocrine).<br />
Oral contraceptives containing norgestrel, levonorgestrel and norethindrone are predisposed to more powerful androgenic outcomes than those with norgestinate, desogestrel and ethynodiol diacetate, which have lesser androgenic effects.<br />
Some rare causes of hirsutism<br />
 Medications: Hirsutism may be caused by the medications, which are the sources of hyperprolactinamia.<br />
 Greater production of growth hormones<br />
 Hyperinsulinemia<br />
 Hypothyroidism<br />

Lets take a look at some of the most popular weight loss products and the positive benefits and negative effects of each, so you can make up your own mind.</p>
<p>Bitter Orange, Citrus Aurantium, and Sour Orange: These products are made directly from concentrated extracts from orange peel. They often claim that they increase metabolism, but there has been no conclusive tests to back this up. Bitter Orange, Citrus Aurantium, and Sour Orange contain the stimulant synephrine, which can cause hypertension and cardiovascular toxicity. Individuals with heart disease, hypertension, and glaucoma should avoid these at all costs.</p>
<p>Chromium (Examples of Chromium products include Puritans Pride Chromium Picolinate, Vitamin World Naturally Inspired Yeast Free Chromium Picolinate, Nutrilite Trim Advantage): The claims that chromium increases weight loss and improves body composition have been backed by one main study which proved this to be the case. Your brain has what is called a Hypothalamus. This part of your brain controls your appetite. When you eat, the glucose levels in your body rise. As these levels go up, the hypothalamus sends off a signal to your cells to stop eating. This is when you start to feel full. Hoodia Gordonii&#8217;s molecule, P57, tells your brain the same exact thing, even if you haven&#8217;t eaten a bite. By mimicking the effects of glucose on your brain, the hypothalamus starts to send messages to your cells which in turn, make you feel full</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Dinner is probably the healthiest meal for most of us. We often overlook breakfast and eat lunch on the run, but for dinner, most of us take more time in preparing and planning how to eat a balanced, healthy dinner.</p>
<p>But theres also a lot of pressure on dinner. Its the last meal of the day and if you are lacking important nutrients in your diet that day, you have an opportunity to make up those nutrients in your evening meal. But you dont want your meal too heavy or you might not sleep well. Conversely, eating too little will not only likely leave you lacking in nutrients, but could also leave you ravenous for breakfast 12 hours later.</p>
<p>So how do you make sure dinner is a balanced, nutrient-packed meal? Plan, and plan some more. Although we are more likely to spent time preparing dinner versus other daily meals, its also a meal that can easily get derailed. You plan to grill chicken breasts and vegetables, but then belatedly remember your son has a baseball game or its open house at school. So its chicken nuggets all around.</p>
<p>Planning keeps you in synch with your schedule. If you plan a weeks worth of meals, you can think about the various obstacles you might find that week in actually bringing your plans to fruition. You can plan a quick pasta salad on open house night, and healthy, veggie-packed sandwiches on baseball night. This keeps you out of the fast food lane.</p>
<p>What are some other tips for planning healthy dinners?</p>
<p>*Dont cook separate meals for picky children. If you know that your salmon and sauted spinach will also result in you making mini hot dogs and fries for the kids, you might rethink it, not having the time or energy to make two completely separate meals. Then you suffer, and they do as well. Its important to expose your children to a variety of foods, so make the salmon and spinach. Be sure to offer applesauce, whole wheat bread and some fruit. Then everyone gets a healthy meal and your children just might surprise you by actually eating some of the adult meal.<br />

*On weeknights, stay away from involved meals. Think of things that can be prepared in less than 45 minutes, though its ideal to keep your meal prep to 30 minutes whenever possible.</p>
<p>*Do as much prep as you can ahead of time. If youre planning grilled chicken and vegetables for dinner, say, then you can clean and slice your vegetables in the morning before you head out for the day. Marinate the chicken. In the evening, all thats left is tossing a quick bag salad and grilling your meat and vegetables. This saves on clean-up time as well.</p>
<p>*If you must eat out, apply the golden rules for restaurant eating: Stay away from white or heavy sauces, order oil and vinegar to dress your salad, and eat only half the entre, pack the rest and enjoy it for lunch the next day.</p>

It is all too common to see inexperienced lifters slaving away on endless sets of bench presses and cable crossovers in search of full, thick pecs. The reality is that there is nothing complicated about building an impressive chest. The bottom line for huge chest gains is consistency, effort and steady progression in weight and repetitions.</p>
<p>The chest is made up of two main heads, the pectoralis major and the pectoralis minor. To stimulate the chest using weights you will be using one of two motions: a press or a flye. If you want the greatest bang for your buck from your chest workouts, the true gains lie in your pressing movements. Flyes may have their place from time to time, but nothing can compare to the overall anabolic effect of high intensity pressing movements. Im talking about the basic, bread-and-butter lifts such as heavy barbell presses, dumbbell presses and wide-grip dips. Save the pec-deck and cable crossovers for the pencil necked geeks on the treadmill; real men train with real lifts.</p>
<p>Like I said before, building a thick and well-developed chest is fairly simple. There are no secrets, magic formulas or killer techniques that will &#8220;shock&#8221; your chest into massive growth. Stick to your basic presses, focus on overload and progression, and I promise that you will see impressive gains. Here are the most effective lifts for packing muscle onto the chest:</p>
<p>Flat/Incline/Decline Barbell Bench Press:</p>
<p>A standard barbell press is the meat and potatoes of any effective chest routine. This basic compound movement will allow you to handle the most weight through the given range of motion. The incline press will shift more of the stress to the upper region of the chest while the decline does the opposite, targeting the lower/outer region. The flat bench press works the upper and lower regions equally. I highly recommend a standard barbell press as a basic component of your chest routine.</p>
<p>Flat/Incline/Decline Dumbbell Press:</p>
<p>Dumbbell presses are another basic and highly effective movement for stimulating chest development. The main advantage that they have over the barbell is that they allow you to move through a more natural range of motion, helping to prevent shoulder injuries. They also prevent strength imbalances from occurring since one arm can&#8217;t cheat for the other. The only drawback is that you are not able to handle as much weight. Overall, a standard dumbbell press is an awesome movement that allows for great chest stimulation.<br />

Wide-Grip Dips:</p>
<p>An amazing movement for the chest that is often overlooked. Make sure to use a wider grip and lean forward to shift the stress from the triceps onto the pectorals. If pressing your own body weight is not sufficient then you can always add weight using a weight belt. Dips are an excellent compound movement for overall chest development.</p>
<p>Here are a couple sample chest routines:</p>
<p>1) Flat Barbell Bench Press: 2 x 5-7<br />
Incline Dumbbell Press: 2 x 5-7<br />
Wide-Grip Dips: 2 x 5-7</p>
<p>2) Incline Barbell Bench Press: 2 x 5-7<br />
Wide-Grip Dips: 2 x 5-7<br />
Flat Dumbbell Press: 2 x 5-7</p>
<p>All sets should stay within the 5-7 rep range and should be taken to complete muscular failure. Write down the details of each workout you perform and focus on progressing in either weight or reps from week to week. There is nothing more to it than that. Good luck!</p>

There are very many triggers for migraines, in fact, and trying to avoid them all would be an exercise in hermitry. Who wants to spend the rest of their life living in a cave just to avoid headaches? That being said, there are a few things you can do to avoid migraines and here are the top ten.</p>
<p>1) Cut the caffeine. Among the multitude of products linked to migraines is caffeine. Taking in too much can lead to a headache of monstrous proportions. Unfortunately, its not only too much caffeine that lead to a headache, its caffeine withdrawal if youre used to taking in a lot. Best to cut back slowly.</p>
<p>2) While were talking about caffeine, lets also talk about NutraSweet. Aspartame has been the culprit for many people who have complained of migraines. Go in search of why aspartame causes migraines and you will run into what seems like the biggest cover-up since Roswell. Most of what youll read hasnt been proven, but then again neither have the makers of NutraSweet proven that their product doesnt contribute to migraines. Avoid it and you may well avoid a horrendous headache.</p>
<p>3) There are more reasons to give up smoking than you can count, but avoiding migraines is another reason to put on the list. Of course, thats easier than said than done if you are the smoker, but remember, secondhand smoke is just as likely to cause a migraine headache as actual smoking. So if you can, remove yourself from the environment in which people are smoking. Better yet: Get them to remove themselves. You do have the right to not have to be around their smoke, especially if their smoke is causing your headaches.</p>
<p>4) Establish a regular pattern of sleeping and waking. In fact, get as anal-retentive as you can about this. A regular pattern of going to bed at the same time and getting up at the same time, on weekends as well as weekdays, can do wonders. <p>5) Give up the pill and try another form of contraception. Birth control pills and their effects on hormones can be a major hazard when it comes to migraine pain. You dont necessarily have to go off the pill entirely. Some people have found that merely changing brands puts an end to their migraine misery.
