Body Check Up - DIY

2010-04-29T00:36:00.012+08:00

Prevention is better than cure. A healthy body, prevention is ain't enough, consistent body check up is mandatory. How much you know about your own healthy? There are plenty of home use body check up devices in the market.

1. Blood Pressure (BP) - is a force exerted by circulating blood on the walls of blood vessels. During each heartbeat, BP varies between a maximum systolic and a minimum pressure. The mean BP, due to pumping by the heart and resistance in blood vessels, decreases as the moves away from the heart through arteries.

The following classification of blood pressure applies to adults aged 18 and older.

Normal category will be between 90 to 120 for systolic and 60 to 80 for diastolic.

REMEMBER:

- Always take more than 2 times while measure BP, average result will be more accurate.

- Avoid eating, smoking, and exercising for at least 30 minutes before taking a measurement.

> A&D UA-767
> Hartmann Tensoval duo contro
> OMRON HEM-7011

More list available in here.

2. Electrocardiography (ECG) Monitors - is a transthoracic interpretation of the electrical activity of the heart over time captured and externally recorded by skin electrodes. With ECG monitors, the users are able to pay attention to their heart conditions by themselves. Most of ECG monitor devices are useful and helpful to user who who are potentially suffered from cardiovascular diseases like hypertension, diabetes or coronary heart disease, or experienced symptoms like heart-throb or stuffy chest.

RECOMMENDED DEVICES:

3. oxygen saturation (S_O₂) - ratio of oxyhemoglobin to the total concentration of hemoglobin present in the blood. An Sa_O₂ (arterial oxygen saturation) value below 90% causes hypoxemia (which can also be caused by anemia). Hypoxemia due to low Sa_O₂ is indicated by cyanosis. When arterial oxyhemoglobin saturation is measured non-invasively by pulse oximetry, it is called SpO2. (Methods for measuring oxygen saturation level)

RECOMMENDED DEVICES: (Pulse Oximetry)
> Heal Force Prince 100C

4. Prothrombin time (PT) - Its derived measures of prothrombin ratio (PR) and international normalized ratio (INR) are measures of the extrinsic pathway of coagulation. They are used to determine the clotting tendency of blood, in the measure of warfarin dosage, liver damage, and vitamin K status. The reference range for prothrombin time is usually around 12–15 seconds; the normal range for the INR is 0.8–1.2.

To reduce your time in hospitals or clinics, the CoaguChek XS system is a convenient, portable and user-friendly system dedicated to patients. It enables you to monitor (measure) your coagulation (PT/INR) status at home, usually upon a prescription from your treating healthcare professional and after a short training. CoaguChek XS system is the third generation of CoaguChek systems since 1994.

5. Blood Glucose Monitoring - is a way of testing the concentration of glucose in the blood glycemia. Healthcare professionals always advise patients with diabetes on the appropriate monitoring regime for their condition. Most people with Type 2 diabetes test at least once per day. Diabetics who use insulin (all Type 1 diabetes and many Type 2s) usually test their blood sugar more often (3 to 10 times per day), both to assess the effectiveness of their prior insulin dose and to help determine their next insulin dose.

Shoe Box Story

A man and woman had been married for more than 60 years. They had shared everything. They had talked about everything. They had kept no secrets from each other except that the little old woman had a shoe box in the top of her closet that she had cautioned her husband never to open or ask her about.

For all of these years, he had never thought about the box, but one day the little old woman got very sick and the doctor said she would not recover.

In trying to sort out their affairs, the little old man took
down the shoe box and took it to his wife's bedside.
She agreed that it was time that he should know what was in the box. When he opened it, he found two crocheted dolls and a stack of money totaling $95,000.

He asked her about the contents.

'When we were to be married,' she said, ' my grandmother told me the secret of a happy marriage was to never argue. She told me that if I ever got angry with you, I should just keep quiet and crochet a doll.'

The little old man was so moved; he had to fight back the tears. Only two precious dolls were in the box. She had only been angry with him two times in all those years of living and loving. He almost burst with happiness.

'Honey,' he said, 'that explains the doll, but what about all of this money? Where did it come from?'

'Oh,' she said, 'that's the money I made from selling the dolls.'

What is love?

2010-02-25T19:18:00.000+08:00

"Love is a temporary madness. It erupts like an earthquake and then subsides. And when it subsides you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots have become so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is. Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the promulgation of promises of eternal passion. That is just being "in love" which any of us can convince ourselves we are. Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away, and this is both an art and a fortunate accident. Your mother and I had it, we had roots that grew towards each other underground, and when all the pretty blossom had fallen from our branches we found that we were one tree and not two."

To Understand Opponent

2010-02-24T21:04:00.004+08:00

No matter how strong you are, without a correct key, you're unable to open solid door. Solid door alike human's heart.

To understand opponent, you have to become a key of opponents heart.

What you think about the following conversation?

A gentleman, C speaks to 2 of his friends, "Everyone know this, I will only believe while I see it..."

A:"Nope, I believed when others told me."

B:"I will only believe it if I can feel it."

Who is the right person? Each of them is right. Different people grow with different environment, background and talent, so own perception and brain will be the root to manage everything. For this case, C and A prefer scene and listen, however B prefer feeling.

Whenever sense organ start to process, eyeball nerve will be act accordingly. With the eyeball motion, we may analysis our opponent. For example,

1) Eyeball shift to up and then right, that means he/she might be imagine a scene.
2) Eyeball shift to down and then left, that means he/she might be soliloquize.
3) Eyeball shift to down and then right, that means he/she might be trying to feel it.

Besides, we may perceive opponent's habitual sense organ from conversation with them. For example,

1) Feeling type: - "I think it still okay...", "My sixth sense tell me it's correct", "I think everyone can do it."
2) Vision type: - "No matter many times I look at this card, it is still the same card", "From my monitoring, it is correct."
3) Auditory Perception type:- "Its sound great", "From your introduction, I am very interested."

Before further conversation with opponent, if we can know more about his/her type of sense organ then him/her also easier to accept and understand our opinion. Once you are expertise this, you can easily establish connection and trust from opponent.
