I have a PIAF system using 10 IP430's and 1 IP601. The 601 and one of the 430's are part of a main queue which is used to handle a majority of the calls.

These two phones will randomly reboot themselves. I have looked at the boot logs for each phone and there is no error being reported. All of the phones are on the most up to date boot-rom and firmware.

I'm wondering if this is a PIAF related issue due to there being no evidence of other phones rebooting just the ones in the main queue.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hi all,

I wondered if anyone was able to explain how associated call pickup groups work in Call Manager 6.0

I understand the basics from cisco but cant seem to get my head around this priority. For example, is this only important when a Opickup button is used and multiple calls are coming through?

Also, when associating groups you seem to have to do it both ways. E.g For Group A and B.

Group A - Must have Group B added.

Group B must have Group A added.

Is this normal and what are the implications of only doing one?

Any help will be most aprreciated.

Hi,

apologies I should share for all, the issue related to the settings we placed on the IP polycom.

Basically, in an attempt to get it working we added lots of information....IP Gateway etc.

We realised that you dont need all this information. You simply enter the min config of Auth Username and Password along with the Call Manager address. We also had DHCP enabled as standard.

It came up with no issues. The documentation provided in this thread is all you need.

Thanks again for your help and I'll open another thread for the call pickup query.

Hi guys,

I am having an issue with two of our office phones. (Soundpoint IP 650 SIP and IP 550). Every morning we come in to work the phones appear to be working via the display, but when trying to dial an internal extension or external number the phone is dead (Just beeps and then goes dead as if it can't get a dial out tone).

Every morning we just reboot the two phones and they then work again. I have called our phone company who say its down to our network but can't pinpoint the issue as its our own infrastructure. They have many other clients with exactly the same setup of equipment running on their service who don't seem to get this issue.

We have at least 5 other SIP phones in the office which are different models that don't get this problem. This tends to indicate to me that it might not be a network issue as they are all on the same local network without issue.

Has anyone seen this problem before and can anyone provide me with some tips to troubleshoot this issue?

Thanks in advance :)

Hello,

not sure if you already found a soulution but for your Contact Details you could do the following:

When you download the SIP Software from Polycoms Website it contains a Directory.
The original 000000000000-directory.xml is actually called ~.xml and therefore is ignored when the Phone looks for a central Directory.

Open this file and you can check the Structure

Open you Data in Excel
Create a new Spreadsheet
Create in field A the entry <item>
Create in field B the Entry <ln>
Copy and paste into Field C from your original document the Last Name of your records (If you have)
Create in field D</ln>

Repeat this for fn,ct and sd
fn = First Name
ct = the actual Contact Number
sd = Position of the Speed Dial

You should end up with 1 Row of an Entry. Now just copy and paste the Entrys for <ln> etc. down in the other cells and then just paste your Phone Numbers and Names.

Code:

<item><ln></ln><fn></fn><ct></ct><sd>1</sd></item>

Once you have added the 2 within the <sd></sd> Entry you can highlight 1 and the 2 and a little Black Box will appear in the corner and enable you to pull down and the numbers 3,4,5 etc will appear.

Once this is all done copy the whole content and paste it in between the <item_list> and </item_list> Data and store it as 000000000000-directory.xml and you have a Directory that will be loaded by every phone that loads it's configuration from your Provisioning Server.

This Server can either be HTTP,FTP or TFTP

Please see the 3.1 Admin Guide for more Information:

http://www.polycom.com/global/docume...glish_RevB.pdf

Page 63/Chapter 4 -9 Explains the directory.xml file

A maximum of 99 Entries can be added for the SSIP 6000&7000 !

You can also set the up.useDirectoryNames in the sip.cfg to ="1" in order to show the Name instead of the number on an incoming call.

The sip.cfg is write protected and set to read only so you need to change the attribute of the file.

Best Regards
