It is always said that true love never die and it does not know any boundaries, sounds impossible, i think yes. But this view changes when we see Taj Mahal, standing on the serene banks of river Yamuna. Taj is the best example of the true and undying love of a King for his Queen. Shah Jahan (the King) built this white marble mausoleum in the memory of his deceased wife Mumtaz Mahal, so that people can remember their love for a long time.

The love story of Shah Jahan and Mumtaz Mahal was just like a fairytale, where the young prince saw his princess for the first time and fell in love with her. After some problems, finally they meet and this time not to be separated from each other. But as every fairytale story goes, their happy life was short and ends on a sad note(the death of Mumtaz Mahal during child birth). It was Mumtaz Mahal who became the inspiration for India's most beautiful and most visited travel attraction. A visit to Taj is a must at least once in your lifetime.

Moored high up in the glossy mountain ranges of the Himalayas at 3500 metres above sea level is Tawang better known as the beautiful land of the Monpas. Tawang is famously known to be hidden paradise or the mesmerising land of the Dawn lit mountains. Tawang evokes the images of the awesome mountain views, quaint and sleepy villages, remote found hamlets,magical gompas, allusive lakes and much more.

The land is said to be heavenly abode of a lethal mixture of history, religion and legends. The name Tawang derives from the meaning 'the horse chosen place' with a reference to the way in which Merak Lama's horse wandered off in the wild and discovered a perfect spot on which the present day Galden Namgyal Monastery stands. It is also famously known as the Tawang Gompha. This Gompha is in the centre of Tawang and placed on a 2760 metre high ridge with a splendid view of the valleys deep down. This gompa is a Mahayana monastery.

The Mystical province of Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh has geared up itself for many surprises to woo the tourists in the forthcoming months. Efforts have been made to engrave the portraits of Sangey Chomden (Lord Buddha), Chandeze (Tara Devi), guru Rinpoche (Guru Padmasambhave) visible on the steep rocky mountains of Sharo village. The portraits would be made visible to the travellers as well as the tourists or commuters who are moving from jung towards Tawang .It is estimated and thought that after the completion of the portrait in the form of Sculpture it would be one of the hot spot of Tourism.

This project is being implemented under the close scrutiny of the Chief Minister Dorjee Khandu himself as per the report on 29^th Aug 2009. Mr Dorjee Khandu the Chief Minister is said to have directed the artist himself of the fine finishing touches of the sculpture to be implemented.

Vaishno Devi : Most Revered Shrine Of Goddess Shakti

High on the snow capped mighty Himalayas and the straddling forest ranges arises from within the shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi. The journey takes one to the cherished destination of awesome wilderness and a place so holy and sacred. Mysticism follows with a sense of enthrallment while climbing the adventurous road uphill towards the Mata Vaishno Devi Temple in Jammu.

The Holy cave shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi is one of the most adorable places of worship for Hindus in Northern India. Dedicated to Goddess Shakti Mata Vaishno Devi is nestled in the laps of the Himalayas on the top of the Trikuta Hills forming a part of the Lower Himalayas in the State of Jammu & Kashmir. It is basically maintained by the Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board.

Vaishno Devi Cave is located at an altitude of 5200 feet . The yatra towards Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine begins at Katra and pilgrims have to cover a distance of 13 kms of topography on foot to reach the Darbar of the Mata. Every day throughout the year mass of humanity surge up steep pathways that cut across the hillside mile after mile.

Popular belief is that anybody who walks the Himalayan trail to her abode to ask for a boon rarely gets disappointed. It is said when one goes on climbing the hill with utter devotion a supernatural power rejuvenates the senses. While climbing the hill one can also have the breathtaking view of the Katra city and the snow clad Himalayan ranges.

Vaishno Devi Yatra also includes the visit to numerous other shrines and temple like the Kalika Temple, Shiva Goompha, Bhumika temple, Ardha Kuwari, Ban Ganga temple, Bhairon Mandir.

The sacred cave of Mata Rani is 30 metres and just a one and half metres high. It is said that this is the place where Mata Vaishno Devi merged with her astral form of her creators. Those are said to be the three supreme energies. The cave of Mata Vaishno Devi has three Pindies or stones dedicated to the three forms of Mother Shakti viz: Mahakali, Mahalakshmi, and Maha Saraswati.

The Legend

This legend has its roots more than 700 years ago. Vaishno Devi was an ardent devotee of Lord Vishnu and used to worship Lord Rama. Bhairon Nath a tantric (Demon God) tried to behold her knowing her captivating powers and gave her a chase to the Trikuta Hills. The Goddess there felt thirsty and at Ban Ganga shooted an arrow into the earth from where water gushed out. Charan Paduka is said to be the place she rested and here lies her foot imprints. Then she meditated in the cave of Adhkawari. According to popular belief it took Bhairon Nath nine months to locate her and the cave is known as Garbha Joon. It is said Mata Vaishno Devi bursted up an opening at the other end of the cave with her Trident knowing that Bhairon Nath has located her. On arriving at the holy cave at Darbar she is assumed to have taken the form of Maha Kali and cut off the head of Bhairon Nath. The head cut off from the Torso flew fell at the place where the present Bhairon temple is located. But legend has it that the benevolent goddess forgave the Demon god and blessed him for the attainment of salvation.

To visit the Mata Vaishno Devi Temple, firstly one has to reach Katra a small town which is located around 50 kms from Jammu. Katra is considered the base camp for Vaishno Devi Yatra. Best time to travel is throughout the year except during winter. Pilgrims prefer the months of October and February for Vaishno Devi yatra.

Amritsar is an important city in Punjab. It is considered as the ultimate place for Sikh religion. The main attraction of Amritsar is the golden temple. It is a symbol of peace, prosperity, freedom and and spiritual enlightenment. Every year large number of devotees from all over the world visit the golden temple to offer prayers. Though it is main Sikh pilgrimage centre but people from all religion visit there to attain peace. Golden Temple is also famous as the Harmandir Sahib, which means "the Temple of God". It is also known as the Darbar Sahib.

This temple of Supreme God is also famous for its stupendous architecture. The exterior of the temple is gold plated which is really dazzling and the structure of the temple stands in the middle of the square tank. Hari Mandir or Darbar Sahib is the most beautiful and sacred part of Golden temple and the sacred pool known as the “Amrit Sarovar” The reflection of the temple in the water is really amazing. There is a crossway over the pool to get the temple.

History of the temple lies much behind, the construction of the temple was started in 1574. The temple was completed in 1601 but renovation and restoration continued over the years. It should mention here that all the gold and precious stone work took place under the patronage of Maharaja Ranjit Singh.

Not very famous like the other hill stations of North India, Kausani is an excellent hill station in Uttarakhand. The rise of the mountains is so dramatic here, as if to reach the heaven. The view of the endless stretch of snow peak Himalayas is beyond any description. It should mention here that the entire Kumaon Hills are well known for their halcyon beauty.

Kausani is very calm and quiet place, nothing much to visit there. It offers beauty of the pine trees in the lap of Himalaya and the end less snow capped mountains. The beauty of the place never fails to lure tourists. Once Mahatma Gandhi and Jawahar Lal Nehru went to the place for 1 day but because of the beauty of the place they could not but help staying there for 1 week. That place is now known as Gandhi ashram or Anashakti Ashram- a favorite place for the tourists.

It is a superb destinations for the photographers and nature lovers. The mind boggling panoramic view of this hill station is really mesmerizing. It is often called as the Switzerland of India. Kashi, in the north India and Rameshwaram in the South India are the two places that are considered as the abode of God in India. These are considered as the famous shrine of Hindus in India. At the very tip of Indian peninsula, Rameshwaram is an island in the gulf of manner. It is an important pilgrimage centre. Let me just give the historical detail of the place. The history of the place lies in the age of Lord Rama. It is the place where Rama built the Ram Setu across the sea to rescue his consort Sita from Ravana. It is in the Rameshwaram where Rama worshipped Shiva to washed away the sin of killing Ravana. The presiding deity here is the Linga Of Sri Ranganatha. Rameshwaram is known as the Varanasi in the South.

Attractions of the place -

Ramanathaswamy Temple :

The main magnetic pull of the town is the Ramanathaswamy Temple, a wonderful example of Dravidian architecture. It sprawled over an area of 15 acres with huge gopurams, monolithic walls and a stupendous Nandi, which is around 18 feet tall and 22 feet in length. The pillars and corridor of the temple are world famous. There are around 4000 pillars, each pillar 4000 feet long create an amazing view of the temple. The corridor of this temple is the longest corridor of the world. Legends say that

Rama sanctified this place by worshipping Siva after he won the battle in Sri Lanka. The construction of the temple began in the 12th century AD and additions were made over the centuries by various rulers, so that today its gopuram is 53 m high. Only Hindus may enter the inner sanctum.

Gandamadana Parvatham :

Just 2 km from the temple, this is the highest point on the island. It is a stepped hall where the imprint of Lord Rama's feet placed on a Chakra (wheel). Being the highest point, the place offers an excellent view of the country side.

Dhanushkodi :

The place named after the bow of Lord Rama is at a distance of 8 kms from Rameshwaram. The boulders around the sea between Srilanka and this place known as Adam's bridge, are believed to be used by Hanuman to reach across Srilanka. It is an excellent place to witness the history.

Beach:

The beach of Rameshwaram is also very famous. The serene, tranquil beach of Rameshwaram attracts each and every tourist visit the place.

Ornamented by the Dargah Shariff of Hazrat Khwaja Muinuddin Chisty, Ajmer is a small but very famous city in the state Rajasthan. Nestled in the lap of Aravalli Ajmer is one of the holiest place of worship not only of Muslims but also of all religion who believes in Khwaja. The city possesses the mausoleum of the sufi saint, khwaja Moinuddin Chishti. Every day thousands of pilgrims visit the Dargah to seek blessings of the saint.
