I couldn't resist this camper when she was offered to me. She's had a full body and engine rebuild. The engine is now 1798cc with twin Dell'Orto carbs, so she really motors on - for a campervan :-)

Inside she has a rock and roll bed, overhead locker, hanging space, a drop-down worktop, which links up with the cooker. The cooker can be swung out to keep the cooking smells outside.

If you want the camper for a day trip or a wedding then the cooker can be replaced with an additional bench making her a seven seater plus the driver.

And if you are thinking about using her for your wedding then she has the perfect number plate!

Dub Box Update

The news from the guys building Dub-Box's is encouraging. After a busy season at shows they have been approached by the accommodation organisers of three of their favourite music festivals! So hopefully next year a fleet of Dub-box’s will be available to hire throughout the summer at these events.

I still think that a Dub-Box is a fabulous solution to camping challenges and saves all that messing about with awnings - just arrive and put the kettle on!

Occasionally I get asked to provide one of our campers for a wedding. It makes for a wonderful day as we can actually get involved rather than just waving goodbye and then waiting until the camper comes home again.

I really enjoy driving on these occasions, but this time my dad, Ken, had the pleasure. Lynn and Daniel were great people and we wish them well for their future together. Judging from their kind word below ,I think the camper was a great hit - and isn't that dress just Fab!!

I just wanted to send you a few pics of my wedding day (29^th October 2010). Ken did an amazing job on the day and was so helpful and pleasant throughout. The van attracted an awful lot of attention and it looks so great in the photos. We definitely made the right choice.

Everybody Loved My VW Camper

I took my mint green 1974 VW Campervan to the Wedding and Lifestyle Show in Harrogate and it was a huge success.

She was there with classic Rolls Royces, Bentleys, a Triumph TR6 and a lovely 1969 Daimler V8 but she held her own and had loads of people looking at her; in fact, most people went straight to my camper first!

Even though I bought the camper vans for self-drive hire, many brides and grooms are booking them for their weddings. They have even done a couple of wedding nights!

So if you want to hire a classic VW Campervan in Yorkshire you know where to come - I look forward to hearing from all you V-Dub enthusiasts.

Fabulous 1960's cafe style interior with a day-bed in the back and bench seats either side of the table.

The table and leg are removeable so that the entire rear of the camper can be converted to a double bed. If you need room to stretch out then this is the one for you!

VW Camper Photoshoot

We have been promising ourselves a 'proper' photoshoot all summer, so when Steve Ramsden was available on the 20th September we took our chance.

We had a great day, getting cars up to Byland Abbey, Castle Howard and Sutton Park. We finished with a champagne picnic in the grounds of Sutton Park as the sun was setting. We were lucky as it was one of the last really good days of the year albeit a tad on the windy side.

Pending the arrival of the good photographs from Steve, here are a few taken with my 'happy-snappy' camera.


My two VW Campervans - carried everything for the shoot and the picnic	I took my Jaguar MkII as well to give her a run.

We have finished the re-upholstery in the Art-Deco style and she looks great. We are just wairting for the cabinets and ceilng liner to finish the look.

She can seat six in the back plus the driver and the front pasenger. The front bench can be removed if you don'trequire the full seating capacity, which makes her better for camping.

Dub-Box or Caravan?

A company have set up to build fully fitted caravans to match your prized VW camper!

It is an interesting alternative to a drive-away awning - you can still drive away but you are left with a fully funtioning draught free caravan; brilliant!

The Dub-Box is built from fibreglass from moulds taken from genuine camper rear ends. It is best to have a look at the pictures so i have reproduced the article for you.

We are considering adding one to the fleet so let us know if it is something you might fancy; it could sway our decision!
