The JE DESIGN Widebody-Kit offers a different look for the Touareg, with a sports radiator grill, front spoiler, front and back wheel arch kit, rear apron insert, roof spoiler and rear hatch blend for the cost of 4998 Euro including VAT. All of the components are manufactured from Polyurethane (PU) and are delivered primed. The new headlights also provide the large Volkswagen with more perspective.

The widebody kit is developed to accommodate the Touareg standard version, but can be fitted to accommodate designer packages, such as ‘Chrome & Style’ as well as ‘Terrain-Style’. The pivot-trailer hitch can be used as well as the different Volkswagen-muffler tips.

Alternatively, JE DESIGN offers dual exhaust pipes for 595 Euro, which channel exhaust gases through bevelled stainless steel pipes in 90 millimetre diameters.

JE DESIGN also include optimisation of the engine management system, with the performance of the 4.2-liter TDI-engine raised to 410 hp (302 kW) compared to the original 340 hp (250 kW), which reduces the 0-100 kph time to 5.4 sec from 5.8 sec. The price for this upgrade is 2999 Euro including a one year engine warranty and covers the turbo charger, transmission and power train. A pneumatic electronic suspension lowering module is also available for 1428 Euro.

The complete JE DESIGN upgrade, including assembly, paint and TÜV- registration is available for 19,750 Euro. JE DESIGN provide TÜV-assessments for each component. With the performance increase, the Touareg still complies with emission regulations.

The engine's maximum torque output has also been substantially increased, from 350 to 440 Nm, a gain of almost 26 percent. The cost of the engine work-up is €899, and works well with either of the car's gearboxes.

The car on the pictures comes with a set of H&R lowered springs. The wheels are the OZ Ultraleggera 8x19-inch wheels. The blacked-out wheels are wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 235/35 performance tires.

H&R Spezialfedern is supporting this design with lowering springs of around 40 millmetres. The SUV gains even more dynamism with these.

The steering harmonises perfectly with the H&R suspension set and follows every command of the driver with unbelievable precision. The vehicle's rolling motion is reduced to an absolute minimum – without perceptibly detracting from the comfort.

An electronic lowering system (ETS) for the air-suspension cars will soon be available, too.

An additional highlights can be achieved from the H&R TRAK+ Wheel Spacers made of high tensile aluminium – regardless of whether they are combined with works or tuned wheels.

The often unsightly gap between the wheel arch and the edge of the wing can thus be visually perfected.

The full range of H&R products is available for over 1,350 different types of vehicles at all good dealers and along with the expected H&R quality comes with a general operating permit (ABE) or TÜV certificate of conformity for parts (Teilegutachten).

It all started with the complete removal of the body to get ready for the installation of the Della Air Suspension and the complete restoration of the Beetle itself. They built all the brackets and reinforcements for the front and rear to accommodate the air suspension, and also to reinforced the rear of the vehicle. There were many changed parts, such as door housing in order to install the rubber grommets for electrical supply to the door itself.

The painting and all of the mechanics worked together to produce an overall elegant and aesthetic look. Then LS Car Audio started the construction of all of the interior pieces for the high quality Hi-Fi audio system and they came up with an elegant design with a matching color.

The interior construction of all of the panels is of Medium density Fiberglass Fliss and all pieces are individually designed by LS Car Audio. For sound quality they installed a 38 centimeter JBL Reflex front loading sub woofer with two symmetrical SLRs on the front of the dashboard to get a low bass. All pieces are finished and upholstered in leather and thermoformed by hand. The pieces are built without a Fiberglas mold using a special technique developed in house, then finished and coated.

The fenders are made of fiberglass, widened by 16 centimeters in the rear and 8 centimeters in the front. Even the side step platforms are built to measure out of Fiberglas. The rear side housings hold the Harman Kardon amplifiers and 1.5 Farad capacitors. Construction of two-way JBL satellite rear speakers are lined with a yellow skin to match the interior. The control electronics are via a touch screen on the dashboard with electronic display.

There are red, blue and green underbody lights, a 19" monitor under the auto-opening front hood, electronic security, artificial smoke machine (like at a disco), switching programs for lights, hood ignition lights, power seats and interior lights. These activate the "dance system" that makes our Beetle "dance" to the rhythm of the music! This is all directly connected to the multimedia system with the filters to detect the beat of the CD so that the vehicle moves at the appropriate pace.

LS Car Audio also added a Carbon exhaust that was also built by hand. They constructed an air control console for the various timing of lights, power windows, power locks, power strobe lights in front, turning on gas, power inverter, interior lights, display control for programming of the underbody lights, air compressor for the suspension, consent ignition lights with power opening doors, phew!

They built the central tunnel that houses the fuses and console manual override for all movements of the air suspension, a support plate with black anodized aluminum with laser etching. Then they made the design of a Beetle on the dash for rapid intuition of the commands. The electronic circuit board has allowed them to reduce from 42 to a total of 3 threads for command of the entirely Digital system.

So after eight months of hard work (done in their spare time including Saturdays and Sundays) LS Car Audio made a Beetle that by all accounts is very special. The planning and implementation took about 1800 hours of work and they also used their 30 years of experience and professionalism which you can see in Project Maggiolone. It takes a good portion of courage as well as confidence to opt for the kind of presentation seen on the newest generation Golf GTI – it is a matte, metallic silver coloured coating (1.500 Euro). The result, however, only reaffirms what experts from CFC knew all along.

With the right clothing, the rest of the car’s sporty yet robust appearance is now on the agenda. An ap-X (749 Euro) screw thread that can be adjusted according to height and hardness has been incorporated into the car especially for this purpose. There is an exhaust system by Eisenmann (1.238 Euro), complete with stainless steel finish and two 100er tail pipes (1.000 Euro) and a down pipe by MR CarDesign. The 265 HP performance and the maximum torque of 390 Nm (799 Euro) can be attributed to XBM Tuning. The GTI now stands on ASA GT2 wheels, which are 8x19 inches in size and soled with rubber tyres in 225/35 R19 (1.999 Euro).

MK-SoundStyle – a company, which also calls Neuss home – is responsible for the Car HiFi Entertainment System. The radio DEX-P99RS (999 Euro) comes from Pioneer. Four output stages from Pioneer (PRS-D2000SPL) power the Pioneer Subwoofer (TS-W8102SPL) in Master/Slave Mode.

The fully active front system was assembled with speakers from Rainbow: High speakers CAL 27 SILK VOF, Midrange Speakers 100 Vanadium, Woofer 165 Vanadium Phase Plug. These are powered by two output stages (iPaul 4 300).

All high end cables are from the AIV’s product line and the spare batteries bear the name Stinger.
