Read what's both good and bad about a particular casino, show, club, etc here. Get it straight from members who have been to Vegas. We're not going to lie to you, we have no reason to. If something was particularly great I'm sure it'll be reflected in the reviews, and if something is really bad, you'll definitely hear about that. Going straight to a resorts webpage is ok and you can do that if you'd like, but get unbiased reviews from us. You never know, you may see a hotel that a member raves about that you never even knew existed.

I booked my trip a long time ago. I'm stopping in Las Vegas for the weekend before continuing on to Hawaii.

My wife and I are staying at the Vdara. Since it's the middle of winter we won't be laying out by the pool in front of the Ray of Death.

The plan is to check in then go out to eat, possibly at the Steak & Shake that just opened at the South Point Hotel and Casino.

We're also going to see the Blue Man Group at the Venetian. It should be a great show from the reviews I've read.

Well ,i haven"t played too much poker over the last week or so ,due to work and family committments..
I saw ,my poker buddy noveltyman had qualified for mini tops 1 through a satty ( congrats on that bro).and thought ,im gonna join him ,,so today i chose a couple or 3 tournies and decided to do em,,,My first was a 5$ 50c.9 man sit n go ...The first period of the tourney was pretty slow .i then started to pick up a few hands and a couple of lucky beats and finally took it down ,,,SAWEEEEEEEEEEEET..

I played a micro-stake on-line poker tournament with $1.10 buy-in and a field of 90 entrants. I was dealt with KK and was 4:1 favorite to win this hand against my opponet's QQ who was at my right. When a flop of JdKcTh came on the board my thought was saying to me "no Ace or 9 please". Though my opponent's hand did not improve on the turn because of the 5 of hearts card that came, I suddenly whispered to myself ... "O it's the crap again" .... Unluckily this time, I got sucked out by an Ace on the river thus completing a straight for my opponent and eventually busting me out in 4th place.

Up to the final table and until my KK was beaten by QQ I was dealt a total of 127 hands. Stats showed I saw flop 8 out of 18 times while in BB; 3 out of 17 times while in SB; 8 out of 92 times in other positions. All in all, a total of 19 occasions that I was in the pot out of 127 hands. Pots won at showdown 8 out out of 11 times. These occasions were really great battles I successfully won as my opponents were determined to take the pot also no matter how vulnerable their hands could be beaten as to being weak or dominated as against my hand.

I think it's a pretty fair question. About a generation ago, the big 3 would have scoffed at anyone who suggested cable could compete with a network. ABC, NBC, and CBS had a commanding market share.

However with the influx of stations like FOX, FX, Spike, TNT, TBS, and more the amount of content out there has not only expanded but improved. Viewers aren't limited to watching a network show.

There's a wealth of great TV programs out right now on cable. One of the biggest moves happened in Late Night. After NBC had a brainshart and ousted Conan to bring back Jay Leno, Conan went and took his show to TBS.

Even the USA Network (yes, I know it's owned by NBC) has great programming with shows like Burn Notice, Royal Pains, Psych, and more.

The bottom line is if a station can come up with good original content, the eyeballs will follow.

There's been a lot of hoopla lately about agents and college athletes in revenue sports (football and men's basketball).

The most recent examples of amateur athletes taking, or alleged to have taken, improper benefits from agents are Reggie Bush and the University of North Carolina Tar Heels football team.

Reggie Bush allegedly took money and benefits from an agent during the 2005 season. The USC Trojans, his team, won the national title that year and he won college football's top individual honor the Heisman Trophy. Since he came under such scrutiny over a 4 year investigation from Yahoo! Sports and the NCAA more and more details continued to emerge. The pressure built up so much that he's all but admitted he took the money. Pete Carroll left his job as the head coach of USC and became the head coach of the Seattle Seahawks. The fall out to hit USC has been pretty massive. They were hit with massive scholarship losses for the next 3 years and they can't play in the postseason for 2 years. The only thing that could be worse would be if the NCAA hit them with a TV ban.

In the case of the North Carolina Tar Heels, we're still waiting to get details. What we do know is there was a party hosted by an agent. At one point 16 members of the team were suspended or held back from playing in games, including many starters on defense. There were also allegedly other players there from different teams. One player, Wesley Saunders, has already been kicked off the University of South Carolina's football team as of today.

In the media there's been a lot of debate about the hypocrisy of the NCAA. The NCAA basically doesn't want the athletes making any money. The NCAA is a non-profit organization that makes millions of dollars a year. The players provide the talent and don't get paid any money.

What the media types don't hit on is the fact that the athletes are still breaking the rules. It doesn't matter if the NCAA is making a lot of money off them. It doesn't justify the actions of the players.

What do you guys think? Should NCAA athletes receive some sort of payment for playing?

WDIAV Blogs are FREE and available for everyone. For many of you, your blog default options are set to private. If you want to make your WDIAV Blog open to the world just follow these instructions.

Click on Settings in the top right corner of the WDIAV forum homepage screen.

Top Ten Holdem Hands
1. Ace-Ace
This is the best Hold'em poker hand you can hope to have. It's the best of the best, and will win more than any other hand.
2. King-King
This 2nd-best hold'em hand is still incredibly strong and will win you a good chunk of change. Two kings, or "cowboys" are only dominated by aces.
3. Queen-Queen
Two queens, or "ladies" are a very good hand. Sure, kings and aces will beat you, but you've got the upper hand on jacks and below.
4. Ace-King
Ace-king is a strong but tricky hand. It is the strongest of the drawing hands, but the flop needs to work with you to give you a pair of aces or kings for it to really pay off. Suited it is slightly stronger than unsuited, as then you can also make the nut flush much more easily.
5. Jack-Jack
A pair of jacks, ten-handed, will win almost 20% of the time. If the flop shows a queen, king, or ace, watch out, but otherwise, it's smooth sailing.
6. Ace-Queen
Ace-queen is the second best drawing hand, and when suited, will win about 20% of the time as well.
7. King-Queen
King-queen, especially suited, is a great drawing hand that is only afraid of an Ace falling on the board.
8. Ace-Jack
Ace-jack is another great drawing hand. Suited is always better here, but unsuited is still playable.
9. King-Jack
King-jack, especially in later positions, is a fine hand to play, but can be beat by any of the hands listed above and should be folded to big raises.
10. Ace-Ten
Ace-ten is still a good hand -- you've got the ace, and can make a straight if the miracle J-Q-K falls on the board. But be wary of playing it too strong, especially unsuited, as if all you end up with is a pair of aces, you may be out-kicke

I am struggling to get away from the Freeroll.

It is hard to do, since I was weened on them with on line poker.

It is very difficult to do. Just to know you are not losing any of your money. lol

Lately, I play two of the .10 cent sngs at a time. That is bout my limit.

Not much when some of the good on line players play 20 to 30 tables at a time.

How do I make out, well. just about break even over the long run.

I play by the numbers and do the math, watch players and position, etc. you know the routine.

For the math to work, one has to play many, many games before it kicks in. lol

But, the freerolls should be just to start and build a BR. then play real money games.
