Coplay Block Party to Start 4th of July Celebration

A little closer to home, people are getting ready for Independence Day. Residents in Coplay were out enjoying the 4th a day early. A moonbounce picnics and of course, funnel cake were highlights at a block party today. The block party started at 3:00 at the park on Keefer Street.

Some patriotic sounds got the holiday weekend started right in Emmaus. The Macungie Band played a salute to Veterans of Foreign Wars Friday night, at the VFW building on Main Street. The program was part of the Emmaus Main Street Program.

The 4th of July holiday weekend has officially begun. On Friday, a different kind of celebration in Easton. Shortly after the Declaration of Independence was signed in 1776, Easton was one of three locations where the it was publicly read. On Friday Night, the eve of our nation's 233rd birthday, concerned citizens again gathered in Easton, to talk about what they say is an erosion of their rights. WFMZ's Bo Koltnow was there and has more.

Country Junction Breaks Ground On New Store

Nearly three years after a devastating fire the owners of a general store in Carbon County have something to celebrate. They broke ground on the new Country Junction in Lehighton today. They say they've been waiting for this day for some time.

Parents, Students React To Teacher Drug Arrests

WDW Welcomes New Citizens, Debuts Updated Attraction

More than 1,000 immigrants took the oath of citizenship in front of Cinderella's Castle at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom in Florida today. Actor Andy Garcia, a naturalized citizen himself, delivered a keynote address during the ceremony.
