H1N1 Vaccine Clinics Scheduled in Hunterdon County, NJ

The Hunterdon County Department of Health has announced eight swine flu vaccine clinics. The first will be held on Sunday, November 15 from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Hunterdon County Complex. Officials say this weekend's clinic will be using the flu mist. Health officials say those interested in a vaccine must pre-register, and walk-ins will not be accepted. Vaccines are primarily for people ages 10 to 24 and caregivers for small children.

Jury Fails To Reach Verdict In Murder Of Mayor's Son

The search for the final missing wolf-dog in Hunterdon County, New Jersey is over. Holland Township Police say the last of six wolf-dogs that escaped this week returned home Saturday morning. Police say the animal appeared to be in good condition. The dog had been hit by a car, but was not seriously injured. The five other dogs were all found within a few hours of their escape Wednesday. This is the fourth time this year that the dogs have gotten loose.

Pilot Involved In New Jersey Plane Crash Dies

A Berks County pilot who officials say was at the controls of a small plane during a crash in New Jersey has died. 54-year-old George Maddox of Spring Township died Friday afternoon in a New Jersey hospital. He was burned but able to walk away from the crash near the Teterboro Airport on August 21st. His co-pilot remains hospitalized. Officials say Maddox was piloting the plane when it hit a tree and a sign before bursting into flames. Maddox's wife says he was not piloting the twin-engine aircraft. The plane was carrying blood and urine specimens for Quest Diagnostics.

They were among the dozens arrested earlier this summer when police say they broke up a prescription drug ring. Three teachers and one former teacher have also been named as suspects. Car Goes Off I-78 Bridge, Falls 80 Feet, Lands On Roof

Convicted Killer Gets 40 Year Jail Sentence

Rendell Urging Lawmakers to Support Child Care Funding

The budget impasse in Pennsylvania is now 46 days long, and Governor Ed Rendell plans to start the week with a warning. He'll be in Harrisburg today urging lawmakers to support child care services in the final state budget. Speaking at a learning center on Sunday, Rendell said he refuses to agree to a budget that makes devastating cuts in early childhood education and school funding. When he speaks in Harrisburg, the governor is expected to be joined by child care providers and advocates. The Governor says he wants to keep funding for programs like Pre-K Counts and Head Start intact.

While things may now look peaceful and serene in the Hudson River this evening, it was anything but for people who witnessed this afternoon's crash of a small plane and a helicopter. It happened just after Noon, and New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg says nine people are dead, in what has now become a recovery mission on the Hudson. Correspondent Brendan Gage reports.

PA Budget Battle Continues

77,000 state workers could see paychecks within a week. A stopgap budget bill was passed by the House Tuesday. The Governor is expected to sign it Wednesday morning. A Flash Flood Watch is in effect until later tonight. We will remain wet through this evening and early overnight with showers and thunderstorms around. Some of the thunderstorms could still be strong and severe with damaging winds and possible hail. Severe Storm Rips Across Eastern PA and Western NJ

10 Hurt at Hot-Air Balloon Festival in Hunterdon Co.
A severe thunderstorm that triggered a Tornado Warning for Hunterdon County, New Jersey was cancelled less than an hour after being issued Sunday afternoon. The severe thunderstorm that reportedly spawned a funnel cloud near Clinton has moved off to the east; the cloud was spotted at 4:53 p.m. Officials in Hunterdon County say 10 people attending the Quick Chek New Jersey Festival of Ballooning in Readington were treated and released on scene by medics for injuries sustained during the storm.

Investigators in New Jersey say they have charged a man in the hit and run case of former American Idol contestant and Allentown native Alexis Cohen. Officials say they charged Daniel Bark with reckless driving and leaving the scene of the Saturday morning accident in Seaside Heights that killed Cohen. Cohen, who was only 25, was found around 4:00 a.m., and was rushed to a local hospital where she later died. Officials say an autopsy done on her body shows she suffered injuries to her head, chest and upper body.

National Guard Soldiers Welcomed Home In Phillipsburg

It's been more than a month since 40 Phillipsburg Army national guard troops came home from Iraq, but today, they received a hero's welcome. A parade started at Walters Park just before noon, and ended at Phillipsburg Middle School with a ceremony and luncheon. The troops are part of the 50th Brigade Special Troop Battalion, which returned in June after a 400-day deployment.

Traffic Stop Turns Up Five Pounds Of Pot In Car

What started as a routine traffic stop in Warren Township, Somerset County, New Jersey ended with a surprising find for police and an Allentown man being led off to jail. It happened on Interstate 78 West yesterday afternoon. Police say they stopped a car driven by Abdul Outlaw, 26, of Lehigh Street in Allentown. They say officers smelled a strong odor of raw marijauna as they walked toward the car. Police say their search of the car turned up five pounds of marijuana in the trunk.

Body Found, Identified In Delaware River Search

The body of a New Jersey man was recovered from the Delaware River late Sunday morning, after police and rescue crews from both New Jersey and Pennsylvania scoured the river for him. The body of William Lawrence, 53, of New Brunswick was discovered in the river not far from the Delaware Family Campground, located just off Route 46 in Knowlton Township, Warren County, according to New Jersey State Police.

Five police officers were shot and two suspects were killed during an exchange of gunfire in Jersey City, New Jersey this morning. Two of the officers were critically wounded. Police say one was shot in the face and the other was hit in the neck by shotgun blasts as they tried to enter an apartment with other officers to arrest two suspects.

Man Sentenced For Murder Of Woman Inside Her Home

One of the men who killed a woman inside her home in Phillipsburg, New Jersey learned his fate today. Donald O'Grady was sentenced to 50 years in prison. Officials say he must serve at least 85%, or 42-and-a-half years, of that term. He was convicted in February for his role in the 2006 murder of Mary Bostian inside her home on Thomas Street.

Man In Wheelchair Hit By Car In Another Accident Last Month

Police say a man in a wheelchair was struck by a car and flown to the hospital in Phillipsburg, New Jersey Wednesday afternoon. Family members identify the victim as David Lunger, 40, from Phillipsburg. He's in serious condition at St. Luke's Hospital. The accident happened on Stockton Street, under the railroad bridge. Family members say Lunger was in a wheelchair because of a previous accident that happened last month.

10-Year-Old Boy Hit By Car in New Jersey

A 10-year-old boy is in the hospital after being hit by a car in Warren County, New Jersey. It happened a little after 5:00 Tuesday afternoon on South Main Street in Greenwich Township. Police say the boy was hit after running into the street. They say he suffered a cut on his head and was flown to St. Luke's Hospital. There is no word on the boy's condition. No charges are being filed against the driver.
