HELP THE FOLCROFT POLICE DEPARTMENT GET A NEW K9 DOG!

Recently the Folcroft Police Dept. experienced a devastating loss when their beloved Logan, a K9 vet for 6 years, succumbed to Wobbler's Disease. They are now in need of a replacement and this is a MAJOR expense (training etc). Nissan of Devon has partnered with this Delaware County force and through the end of April will donate a portion of the proceeds from every vehicle sold. You can also make donations at the 459 W. So excited that my delightful friend Baron Wolman will join us once again this year at the 12th annual MGK CLASSIC ROCK ART SHOW which is open for business starting TOMORROW (3/23) at the Montgomery Mall. Baron will be on hand to sign copies of his AMAZING book THE ROLLING STONE YEARS. You can catch him on Saturday 3/31 and Sunday 4/1 from 1P-5P each day. Also, Baron is bringing a never before publicly seen photo of the Allman Brothers taken in 1969. And in this interview, he also promises us another surprise. As a mom to a young adult with Aspergers (a diagnosis on the Autism spectrum), John Elder Robison's books have given me great insight and hope. John has done many interesting things in his life that were possible BECAUSE of his diagnosis. His singular focus and attention to detail have been responsible for ventures such as designing the flame and light throwing guitars for Kiss among other things. His latest book BE DIFFERENT is now out in paperback and following is an interview that I recently did with him. He has some area appearances/book signings coming up too.

VAN HALEN CAN STILL MAKE IT HAPPEN

I took my buddy Ben to the Van Halen show last night. He said he was never going to go see a Van Halen without Michael Anthony but from somewhere deep inside, his teenage Benny over-ruled that decision. Plus I told him how great Wolfie had done on the tour several years back. We stopped by to see Ray Koob at his broadcast (where a guy called me a "cougar!!!!!") and then headed up to our seats which turned out to be club box (thanks Matt Cord!). Benny decided to live tweet the whole show so in between pounding my left shoulder along with the drumbeat and singing every single word into my ear, he was also doing a running commentary during the show. I jotted a few notes into my iphone and I'm not even going to attempt to edit or embellish. I'll just recap here what I wrote ...

Monday 2/13 Surreal and Sir Paul. That’s my review of this past weekend in a nutshell. Next year (if I’m so lucky to be able to return to the Grammys!) please remind me to bring more cell phone power and less shoes. I have heels sticking out of every strained to the max zipper on my suitcase! And just like last year, my cell ran out of power JUST as the evening portion of the Grammys were beginning. But also just like last year, that forced me to enjoy the evening instead of constantly Facebooking and once I got past the un-connectedness, I was able to relax and enjoy and soak in all that is the fabulousness of being IN The Staples Center for The GRAMMYS!!! Sunday AM...Marcy Kraft and I have been watching all the Whitney Houston coverage and at breakfast, conversations overheard at every table were peppered with comments about how this will be handled tonight at The Grammys. As the hotel is abuzz with preparations for the day's events which begin at 1PM, there is a stunned sense of disbelief.
