What the FUCK.</span></p> <p><span style="font-family: tahoma, arial, sans-serif;">First....  let's get this out of the way quickly...  It is not the job of the person making these things to make complete and utter sure you are not underage buying it, it is the retailers.  Check their ID, it's not hard.</span></p> <p><span style="font-family: tahoma, arial, sans-serif;">Second... It is not the job of the manufacturer to make their product so damn bland and uninviting that almost no one would want it JUST to make sure that NO kid walking by could per chance think it looked cool...    Grand theft auto on playstation anyone?</span></p> <p><span style="font-family: tahoma, arial, sans-serif;">Third!  It is not the job of the maker to make sure their product tastes so much like shit that NO kid to ever try one (on their OWN) or anyone else for that matter would ever like it! </span></p> <p>I am a grown adult.  I like flavor.  I don't smoke anymore but if I did, I'd damn sure love to have choices in flavor like vanilla, or cherry.  Would this make me start smoking younger?  Well, it could.  But guess what?  It is NOT the cigarette companies burden to keep me from doing it!  They are only offering choices to their customers, the grown adults.  Any grown adults like cherries?  vanilla? chocolate?  Do people go to hookah bars to taste this stuff?  Yes.  Do they put hookah bars out of business just in case a child gets a whiff or hears about it and now they are automatically catering to children?  NO.</p> <p>Snus.  Another alternative.  Stop smoking advocates say that they are marketing this stuff as safer.  <span style="font-family: tahoma, arial, sans-serif;">Really? Marketed as safer? Are you kidding? I can’t remember the last time I have seen ANY tobacco product marketed as safer, cleaner, or better for you.  </span></p> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-family: tahoma, arial, sans-serif;">Because they sell a product that has the potential to harm you they are prohibited from competition? Are you going to go talk to trojan and get mad at them for their “new” and “cool” packaging and names because you feel it makes younger kids want to have sex? No your not, everyone has their own personal choice to do something or not do something, and making it the problem of the retailers and makers of cigarettes, snus, chew, e-cigs, what have you, to make sure that their product in no way looks cool, is differentiated, or caters to the tastes of GROWN ADULTS is ridiculous. The anti-smoking campaigns are out of control, these companies are getting regulated to hell for just trying to compete, and it is not fair in the least bit. </span></p> <p><span style="font-family: tahoma, arial, sans-serif;"> The parents of these children is who the burden of teaching, and regulating should fall on. This is yet another example of an over-reaching government controlling the lives of it’s citizens. The bill would give the Department of Justice the unprecedented power to take over domain names of websites that are deemed to facilitate copyright infringement.</p> </div> <p>As was <a href="http://torrentfreak.com/fed-busted-movie-site-informed-of-investigation-months-ago-100701/">demonstrated</a> earlier this year, taking the domains of suspected sites has proven to be a highly effective tool to shut down sites that are considered illegal. In September, a group of U.S. senators <a href="http://torrentfreak.com/us-lawmakers-want-to-quash-pirate-websites-100920/">proposed</a> legislation to make this a standard procedure, and today the Senate’s Judicial Committee unanimously supported the bill.</p> <p>Before it becomes law the bill will have to be approved by the Senate and Congress, which has to happen quickly because a new Congress will be seated in January.</p> <p>If signed into law, the ‘Combating Online Infringement and Counterfeits Act’ (COICA) would allow the Department of Justice to file a civil lawsuit against the domain owners. If the courts then decide that a site is indeed promoting copyright infringement, the DOJ can order the domain registrar to take the domain offline. The bill is not limited to domestics offenders, but also allows the DOJ to target foreign domain owners.</p> <p>The targets of the bill could possibly include many BitTorrent sites. Last week both the <a href="http://torrentfreak.com/mpaa-lists-major-torrent-usenet-and-hosting-sites-in-submission-to-u-s-government-101107/">MPAA</a> and <a href="http://torrentfreak.com/riaa-reports-torrent-sites-rapidshare-and-rlslog-to-us-government-101111/">RIAA</a> submitted their wishlists of “rogue websites” that should be taken care of, and these included The Pirate Bay, isoHunt, Demonoid and other popular torrent sites.</p> <p>Although none of the operators of these sites will be happy with the new legislation, Demonoid has been opposing COICA in public, asking its members to take action. </p> <p>“If passed, this law will allow the government, under the command of the media companies, to censor the internet as they see fit, like China and Iran do, with the difference that the sites they decide to censor will be completely removed from the internet and not just in the US,” a message on the Demonoid <a href="http://www.demonoid.com/">homepage</a> reads.</p> <p>Aside from classic ‘pirate’ websites, the bill also conveniently provides an effective backdoor to take the whistleblower site Wikileaks offline, or its domain at least. After all, Wikileaks has posted thousands of files that are owned by the United States.</p> <p>If the bill is accepted it will change the Internet and how domain names are controlled for good. Thus far, no central government has the power to take over domains. It was like nothing I'd ever seen before, and hit me like a ton of bricks when it felt just like the real thing... only better. But the Blu had problems, tiny battery = crap life and the same was true for the cartridges. I went looking for more. Little did I know, there was an entire ecosystem devoted to the use and furtherment of these things called PVs (personal vaporizers). I found out the industry was still very young. I found out there were tons of mom and pop e-commerce stores all over the net. I found out I could do it better than them. My new mission involved me trying out different types for myself, reading forums and blogs on the subject, keeping up to date with what was popular, and what was proven. Quite a bit of time and money was spent in the first couple weeks. Was I sure anything would come of it? No, but I had an itch that had to be scratched. My search led me to Volcano, a very popular brand, whom was still in it's early growth stage (where we are now). They had just come out with a product called the "Magma" and I was sold. The Magma was a 510 style e-cigarette (if you don't know what that is, no big deal) and it was a monster. Looking into the 510 more educated me on how popular this style actually was... extremely. <p>Off I went, calling my mentor and asking questions about manufacturing (his family owned a plant in India) and how to find the one I wanted to use. He pointed me to online (duh) sources of information where I could find TONS of manufacturers and contact them directly. I started with one, talked to five, moved to another, got samples, decided against, and went back to the original in about a months time all while working out other details of the business infrastructure. I'm glad I chose to go back to our first, it has become the Smōk Cig you see today.</p><p>It has been a lot of work dealing with the manufacturer as there are tons of quirks to have to learn. Like they say, if it was easy, everyone would be doing it. I have been torn so many different ways it's hard to keep up. But one thing is for certain. It's not a game, it's not "play time", it's not for recognition, it's not for a name, and it's sure as hell not gonna be for nothing. It's for the chance to change my future, be financially secure, and learn as much as I can while I'm at it.<p>I quit taking college classes to pursue this and it was not something I did lightly. So much of my free time MUST be spent to this to make it worthwhile. Otherwise I should just pack it up now and cut my losses. </p><p>I can't quit, not does the thought even cross my mind. One thing, if you're going to deal with me, is that this business is one of the most important things to me in my life. ONE of them, but a large one. I need support from those who love me, and understanding from family and friends.
