Buffalo Wild Wings to Salute Military Throughout May

May is Military Appreciation Month. To honor military service members and their families, participating Buffalo Wild Wings restaurants will be supporting the VFW Foundation’s Return the Favor campaign for the second year in row.

During May’s “Salute the Troops” program, participating locations will be donating 10% of total food and non-alcoholic beverage purchases for guests who presents a Military ID, VFW Membership card or Return the Favor card. “We’re proud to be paying tribute to our nation’s brave service men and women,” says Jeffrey Miller, the restaurant chain’s Director of Field Marketing. “And we believe our guests will leap at the opportunity to show their support, too.”

The “Salute the Troops” program also thanks restaurant guests for participating. Donors will receive a yellow wristband. Wearing the wristband into Buffalo Wild Wings anytime in May will allow them to donate again. Wearing it in June entitles guests to 10% off of their food and non-alcoholic beverage purchases (cannot be combined with other offers or discounts). One wristband per check, while supplies last.

More than 7,500 local VFW posts nationwide will be promoting this donation drive, encouraging their 450,000+ organization members to dine in their local Buffalo Wild Wings restaurants.

Help Barry Burgoyne beat Cancer

In April 2012, Barry was diagnosed with Ewing's sarcoma, a malignant round-cell tumor. Due to the rarrity of this disease, Barry is receiving his treatments at Sloan Kettering Memorial Hospital in NYC. Over the next year, he will be away from his family for extended periods of time. Please show support for Barry and his loved ones during this extremely difficult situation.

On Sunday, June 10th, friends and familiy will host a bike run starting at West Chester Cycle in West Chester and ending at Cheeseburger in Paradise. Wounded Warrior Adam Keys Benefit Horseshoe Tournament

Come out on Saturday June 23, 2012 (rain date June 30) for the Wounded Warrior Adam Keys Benefit Horseshoe Tournament hosted by American Legion Riders Chapter 960 and the Sons of the American Legion Squadron 960. The event is being held at the American Legion Post 960 located at 1537 Woodbourne Road in Levittown. The event is a benefit tournament for an American soldier wounded in an IED attack while on patrol in Afghanistan. Adam survived the attack but is a multiple amputee as a result of the injuries.

Adam is from Whitehall, PA, but has been undergoing treatment and care for his injuries for over two years at various locations including Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland and Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas.

All event proceeds go directly to Adam for use in his care and treatment.

The horseshoe tournament will be two person teams, $50 entry fee per team(no refunds unless tournament is cancelled). A Double elimination styled tournament limited to first 50 teams to register. Entry fee includes tournament, food, beverages, and one door prize entry. Trophies will be awarded to the top three teams. Team check-in starts at 8AM and games start at 9AM. It's $10 for Non-tournament playing spectators for food and beverages. $5 for door prize entry (limit of one door prize entry per person).

2012 Philadelphia Kidney Walk

Come out to the 2012 Philadelphia Kidney Walk! Last year, there were over 3,200 participants and raised over $463,000 in the fight against kidney disease in the Delaware Valley.

This year, they are hoping to have more walkers and raise more money than ever.

The Kidney Walk is a day of awareness, solidarity, and fun for the whole family. At the end of the day, however, it is a fundraising event to help meet the needs of local kidney patients. Unlike many walks, they do not charge a registration fee up front. However, they have costs associated with hosting the event at a location as special as the zoo.

They pay for each walker who passes through the gates, and when walkers choose not fundraise, it hurts our efforts to help patients. Therefore, they ask that all adult walkers (ages 13+) raise a MINIMUM of $25 each. We have found that it is an amount that is very feasible to raise, and helps us meet our goal. If you do not fundraise prior to the walk, you will be asked to make a $25 donation at the door to gain admission to the Zoo. Please remember that every dollar counts!
