Enjoying the End of Summer Time

noreply@blogger.com (Blessed) — Mon, 29 Aug 2016 19:44:00 +0000

As we enjoy the last days of summer in 2016 I get excited thinking about the beautiful fall colors about to capture the state of Indiana. Time has passed fast this summer with so much happening it was hard to keep up with it all let alone write about it. If I hadn't heard a quick tip off the Internet yesterday I wouldn't be writing today either. So here goes for a tip to pass along to you too. If it doesn't take no more than 5 minutes to do something and your hesitating to do it just go ahead and GETERDUN. Then you wont have to keep worrying about it. So take it as you will. I took it and decided it was time to write a blog post cause everyday I want to but I put it off to do something else. Geterdun! New word of the year for me lol.

Deer is in the freezer

noreply@blogger.com (Blessed) — Fri, 05 Dec 2014 17:48:00 +0000

Cold and rainy which is not my kinda cold. If it is going to be cold there needs to be snow out there, like five foot of it. But God has a plan and it was for rain today. The deer has been processed and froze along with a few meals that the kids ate like candy. We all love our venison. Topped with gravy and mash potato side and green beans yum yum. I have some of the deer drying out making another family favorite, venison jerky. Now that will be gone in no time. Seems like I can never make enough jerky. Guess with the next deer we get I should make it all into jerky for those home school field trips hiking through the woods. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it! Well here's to another day of living off the land and loving it.

Feeling lost without my crockpot

noreply@blogger.com (Blessed) — Wed, 03 Dec 2014 16:30:00 +0000

Yes it has been a long time since I ventured into blogland but here I am again. The spring, summer, and fall have passed and it's cold outside again. Guess I have been so busy outside this year I had no time to blog. Well we were blessed with a deer again this year praise God and I have got to get it processed and put into the freezer. I love sticking deer meat and vegetables in the crockpot in the morning then sitting down to supper already finished while I do all the other chores. Unfortunetly my crockpot has died yes it can no longer cook those great meals for me. So here's to having hope for another one soon. I feel lost without it! Take care and God Bless!

Money Making Ideas

noreply@blogger.com (Blessed) — Wed, 15 Jan 2014 03:14:00 +0000

This question goes out to all the moms at home who are honestly making a decent income from online earnings. What is the best money making job from home that really works? Times are tough and I really need to be contributing more to the family income but I don't want to have to leave my home to do so. Any ideas would be appreciated, as long as they are real and not scams. Thanks in advance and have a great day out in blog land!

September Days of 2013

noreply@blogger.com (Blessed) — Fri, 06 Sep 2013 03:05:00 +0000

It's fall cleaning again so that means yard sale time. I have started cleaning out and sitting up a big yard sale again. This summer was a busy one with appointments for everyone here and there. We enjoyed a small field trip to Spring Mill that was rained out by the next morning ( we were roughing it in tents). We have 8 new baby puppies that take a lot of attention too. School has started back and the kids are working hard on their Home school lessons. We finished all 8 projects for the fair this summer so 4-h is over till next year. What do they say? Time flies when you are having fun or your so busy you don't know which way to turn. Here's to a great September from our house to yours!

June Updates

noreply@blogger.com (Blessed) — Tue, 18 Jun 2013 05:39:00 +0000

What a month this has been and I don't care to ever go through one like this again. We must for sure be living in the end times because I sometimes feel like we are going through hell here on earth. I am so thankful that God has pulled us through incident after incident this month. Now if I could just get enough energy to do all the things that need to be done I would be doing okay. Here's to a better rest of the year, it just has to be!

Spring Updates

noreply@blogger.com (Blessed) — Tue, 07 May 2013 16:48:00 +0000

Wow where has the time gone? I cannot believe it has been so long since I last blogged! We have been quite busy around here with mushroom hunting, gardening, yard cleanup,4-H,camping and much much more! They say time flies when your having fun but also when you are so busy you can't seem to get caught up also :) Well off to feed my chickens, goats and rabbit. Have a great day out there in blogland!

SPRING IN SIGHT

noreply@blogger.com (Blessed) — Wed, 06 Mar 2013 16:06:00 +0000

We got a few more inches of snow last night and hoping this will be the last one of the season. It is almost spring and we are more than ready. We have a few plants coming up and need to get outside some more to prepare the garden space for this year. We had a nice hike the other day down the Knobstone trail by Elk Creek Lake and we are also ready for some more hiking this year! I have a new tent and sleeping bags ordered and they should be here by tomorrow. More blueberry seeds ordered to and hopefully these will do better then the last bunch! We also got a new bunny and a bunch of new puppies! That's the latest updates for now.

Blizzard

noreply@blogger.com (Blessed) — Wed, 26 Dec 2012 17:29:00 +0000

Christmas is over and the Blizzard is hitting. The beautiful white flakes are swirling around the air and landing where they may. Southern Indiana looks like a blanket of white snow. If it's going to be cold it might as well snow! Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

Sunday Morning Church Services

noreply@blogger.com (Blessed) — Sun, 16 Dec 2012 22:54:00 +0000

We made it to church this morning and had a great Sunday lesson. Now if I can just apply it all to my life I would be doing great. Baby steps that's what I have to work toward just like anyone else. Got some more shopping done today so I am one step closer to being caught up. I have such a busy couple weeks ahead that I will running to keep up with everything to do. Hope you all have a great week out there in blog land!

Teens and End Times

noreply@blogger.com (Blessed) — Tue, 11 Dec 2012 13:26:00 +0000

After trying to stay strong and enforce the rules of "Obey your parents" and "Do your Homework" we have came to a difficult decision to call out for help. Sometimes teens just wont listen and what else is there to do. Please keep my 16 year old in your prayers for the days we are living in are evil and it is so hard for him. He tries to study his Bible and has so many attacks from this wicked world that he is in some hard times right now. Yes it's hard for any family raising teens in the world we are living in today! We must stay strong for them and for the other family members involved. It will get better. He will get better too!

Congratulations

Stomach Flu Gone

noreply@blogger.com (Blessed) — Wed, 28 Nov 2012 05:03:00 +0000

Praise God the stomach flu has left us. It was back to work around here as normal today. A few times some nausea came sweeping in but we were all able to keep going and say good bye flu! The little children finished reading all the books for the November book it program and was able to score them a free pizza tonight, way to go kiddos! Keep up the hard work and read read read!

Thanksgiving leftovers

noreply@blogger.com (Blessed) — Mon, 26 Nov 2012 05:16:00 +0000

Well the one child that didn't make it because of the stomach flu was able to get here the next day for Thanksgiving leftovers. We had a great visit. I was so glad I was able to see all my children this week. One day later and you know it, the little children came down with the stomach flu. One by one and then it hits me yesterday. Nausea, has set in but not vomiting yet for me. I cleaned up one mess after the other all night long from the little ones. I finally was able to get them some bags since they were not able to make it to the bathroom before they would start vomiting. Now after resting most the day and into the night every muscle in my body aches. Not sure if its part of the flu or because I tripped over a baby doll going down the stairs and hit the bottom of the stairway. Anyway the only thing we have been able to keep down so far is sprite. And the little ones didn't keep all that down. I hope this is no longer than 24 hour stomach flu because I am ready for this to be over now!

Thanksgiving

noreply@blogger.com (Blessed) — Fri, 23 Nov 2012 20:51:00 +0000

Thanksgiving was great and all the kids showed up except one who had the stomach virus. We had a huge feast and then rested the end of the day. Thought about going out to score some deals at the stores and thought no way did I want to fight the crowd so I stayed home. The wind is blowing and it seems to be getting cooler today. There is a chance for snow on Sunday. We have 7 new baby cockatiels and one more egg to hatch. We have yellow and white ones. Well here is to a day of cleaning up and preparing my coupons to go get some deals.

Preparing for Thanksgiving Party

noreply@blogger.com (Blessed) — Tue, 13 Nov 2012 17:05:00 +0000

The invitations are out and the Party is on. Next week we will be celebrating Thanksgiving with the family and thank God for all the many blessings he has given us this year. The menu includes Turkey, mashed potatoes, green beans, corn, rolls, sweet potatoes, baked beans, mac and cheese, cranberry and more! I love this time of the year and look forward to seeing the whole family together!

November Updates

noreply@blogger.com (Blessed) — Fri, 09 Nov 2012 15:38:00 +0000

It's a cool crisp morning here in southern Indiana this morning. You can always tell when the wood stove is almost empty that's for sure. Nothing a little hot coffee can't fix though. We have three doctor appointments today so I will be glad when this day is over. The kid's have to get their annual check up and then we will be good till next year. We brought the birds in from the garage so now it sounds like we are living in the jungle. It is just too cold out there since he doesn't keep the stoves in the garage going all winter. A couple of the Cockatiels are setting on some eggs so it wont be long and we will be having baby cockatiels again. I will try to upload some new pictures of the new birds when they arrive. Have a great day out there in blogland!
