13th Wakeboard Worlds Set For Nov. 19-23

The 13th IWWF Wakeboard World Championships will be held Nov. 19-23 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The U.S. Wakeboard Team placed fourth and three U.S. athletes earned individual medals at the 2018 Wakeboard World Championships in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Collegiate Wakeboard Nationals Announced

USA Wakeboard is proud to announce the 2019 USA Collegiate Wakeboard Boat and Cable National Championships will be held Sept. 13-15 at the Orlando Water Sports Complex in Orlando, Fla. Practice will be on the 13th, Boat Nationals on the 14th and Cable Nationals on the 15th. The top-finishing male and female athletes will be in the running to be selected to represent Team USA at the 2020 FISU World University Water Ski & Wakeboard Championships in Dnipro, Ukraine.

IWWF Releases Official Wakesurf Rules

The International Waterski & Wakeboard Federation has announced the release of the IWWF's Official Wakesurf Rules (PDF). The decision to form a Wakesurf Committee was made during the IWWF Executive Board meeting held in the Ukraine in September 2018.

Cable Wakeboard Worlds Set To Begin

The 10th IWWF Cable Wakeboard & Wakeskate World Championships will be held Friday, Feb. 15 through Saturday, Feb. 23 at Pampa Cable Park in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Wakeboard divisions will be Under 15 Boys/Girls, Under 19 Junior Men/Women, Open Men/Women, 30+ Men/Women and 40+ Men/Women. Wakeskate divisions will be Under 19 (Junior) Men/Women and Open Men/Women. There also will be an adaptive division. Opening ceremonies will take place on Thursday, Feb. 14.

Four U.S. Riders Win Pan American Titles

U.S. wakeboard athletes Mary Morgan Howell (Dothan, Ala.), Adam Fields (Littleton, N.C.), Chad Lowe (Sebastapol, Calif.) and Kitt Smith (Bronson, Mo.) each won gold medals in respective divisions at the 2018 Pan American Wakeboard Championships, Nov. 2-3, at Boca Laguna in Chapala, Jalisco, Mexico.

The 2018 Pan American Wakeboard Championships will be held Thursday through Saturday at Boca Laguna in Chapala, Jalisco, Mexico. The event will be used as the U.S. qualifier for the 2019 U.S. Pan American Games Team. One male wakeboard rider and one female wakeboard rider will be selected to the 2019 U.S. Pan American Games Team based upon results at the 2018 Pan American Wakeboard Championships.

The 2018 Pan American Wakeboard Championships will be held Nov. 1-3 at Boca Laguna in Chapala, Jalisco, Mexico. The event will be used as the U.S. qualifier for the 2019 U.S. Pan American Games Team. One male wakeboard rider and one female wakeboard rider will be selected to the 2019 U.S. Pan American Games Team based upon results at the 2018 Pan American Wakeboard Championships. USA Wakeboard To Host Officials’ Seminar

USA Wakeboard and the International Waterski & Wakeboard Federation will be hosting the 2018 IWWF Wakeboard Seminar for Judges and Calculators, Nov. 17-18, at the Lake Myrtle Sports Park in Auburndale, Fla. The International Judging program has been put in place by the IWWF so that all judges and officials are trained to apply the rules and judging criteria consistently and are equipped with the right tools for the job.

Aggies Win Collegiate Wakeboard Nationals

Texas A&M won the coveted team title at USA Wakeboard’s 18th Collegiate Wakeboard National Championships, Aug. 24-26, at SMG Boats and Hangar 9 Wake Park in Conroe, Texas. The Aggies tallied 485 points in winning the national title for the first time. Arizona State finished second with 400 points, followed by Central Florida (370 points), Louisiana State (310 points) and Michigan State (285 points) in the 13-team field. The University of Florida, the three-time defending national champion, placed 10th.

USA Wakeboard’s 18th Collegiate Wakeboard National Championships will be held Friday through Sunday at SMG Boats and Hangar 9 Wake Park in Conroe, Texas. The University of Florida is the three-time defending national team champion. In addition to the Gators, competing teams this year include Arizona State, Baylor, Central Florida, Central Washington, Louisiana-Lafayette, Louisiana-Monroe, Louisiana State, Michigan State, Mississippi, Mississippi state, Oklahoma State, Texas A&M and Texas State.
