New addition to our online store, six different songbirds by Kay Bojesen, named after the designer and his family. It is a hitherto unknown design created by Kay Bojesen in the 1950s, but never put into production. The birds have a clean, modern expression, stripped of superfluous details and are made from solid beech wood and, of course, carefully hand-painted according to tradition.

Sweethearts by talented Dutch jeweler Susanne Klemm. Known of the Embrace ring available in our online store. For this mini selling- exhibition, Moss is presenting a series of Klemm’s Sweetheart rings from the Red Light Collection. The rings, made of agate cameo and epoxy, come in a wide range of colors and combine the romanticism of cameo jewelry with the boldness of pop art. The cameo work, created through the use of a mold and layered and engraved by an ultrasonic machine and then transferred onto epoxy, was done in a small workshop in East Germany. The rings are conversation pieces, voluptuous like a woman’s curves and bright like their personalities. Via Objects no paintings.

Delftware master painters are combining their art with modern design in a new design label by Royal Delft called Blue D1653. Blue D1653 is a unique collection of decorative objects and consumer products for food, mood and lifestyle that combines design of the present day with the long and considerable history of Royal Delft. The name Blue D1653 comes from Blue for Delftware, 1653 for the founding year of Royal Delft and D for design. Says Royal Delft, "Call it contemporary nostalgia, new originality or the purest form of Dutch Design; Blue D1653 brings together the best design of two eras in one collection." Royal Delft is the only remaining producer in Delft from the 17th century. New in store, Aroma kitchen pestle and mortar by Eero Aarnio for Alessi. Aroma is the only object designed by Eero Aarnio and produced by Alessi to made in Stoneware instead of plastic. Even though its form falls easily within the design codes held dear by the designer. The Mortar’s upper edge thins out compared to the notable thickness cup-shaped body, preventing remnants of food from sticking to the slender rim. The cylindrical pedestal is designed to be held firmly for safety while being used. The pestle is formed by a combination of two different forms: a round handle, with a semi-gloss finish and a concave interior; and a pestle with an oval section and matte finish for more effective use. The result is a pestle that is comfortable and natural to grasp. Its shape provides a large area of contact with the mortar during the grinding process. New in store, Dancing man and Ballerina by Danish artist Victoria Ladefoged. Silhouette puppets that can move their bodies and dance. The figures are inspired by Turkish shadow plays where puppets with jointed bodies, controlled with sticks, form silhouettes. The puppets resemble jumping jacks, but one has to manually move the puppet’s arms and legs to make the body dance. The puppets come in black and in natural colour and are made of discarded crates from Aarstiderne – a Danish company that delivers organic produce door-to-door.
