Converting video in linux using ffmpeg and mencoder

I also want to add another step that I’ve haven’t found in that article but found to be useful, how to join two AVI together. It is a simple command if you have transcode installed (If not you can install it in a Debian based distro with sudo apt-get install transcode).

avimerge -o outputFile.avi -i inputFile1.avi inputFile2.avi .. inputFileN.avi

That’s it! Have Fun!

We are going to install it on an Apache2 web server with FastCGI, using MySQL as the database engine, and of course we also have to install Ruby On Rails because it is a requirement of Tracks. I think the best thing would be use Subversion to get the sources of Tracks because doing it so would make upgrading the installation a snap.

Note: If at any time it asks for something and I don’t specify something is because default option is the safe bet.

In this post I’m going to explain how to compile the development Psi version for everyone that likes to live on the edge. Psi is a multi-platform jabber client, that in my humble opinion is the best one out there. It provides with most of the features that jabber can provide, it’s almost fully customizable to your own needs (if you aren’t afraid of editing some xml) and most important of all it has good, kind and active developers!
