Camping with the boy scouts. After a freezing night (even with the winter coats I insisted on bringing) and no sleep...think that will be my first and last night camping outside!

Kids doing their lap-a-thon fundraiser at school. John did 21 laps and Alyssa did 25. Since we had previously been asking friends, relatives and neighbors to buy pasta for Alyssa's soccer fundraiser, popcorn for boy scouts now and girl scout cookies the end of month, I decided I didn't want to ask anyone else. So night before the pledges were due, the kids told their dad they needed $50 each (to get a school lunch bag) and he gave in! For $100 raised they would have gotten a kite but thankfully they were not interested in that. Now he always teases them about how much he loves their "awesome" $50 lunch bags!

Finally made it to Deanna Rose to take my annual picture of the kids. The kids were lucky this time - my battery was so low that I only managed to get two pictures. Always neat to see how fast they grow and change over the years.

Alyssa played Time of Your Life by Green Day at school on Monday during the kindergarten through 2nd grade talent show. She found out today she was good enough to play at the all school talent show on the last day of school. This will give me another shot at trying to get a better recording without all of the camera movement which was caused when I had to tell John to be quiet and sit still!
She also did another act with her brownie scout troop which she will be performing again as well. It's something they learned at almost midnight at their overnight camp out on Friday. She's the 3rd from the left. Not as energetic as some of the other girls. Guess nobody is perfect!

Alyssa had her first communion two weeks ago and with it being a busy day (John had a soccer game right before/during her ceremony and she had one immediately following) I forgot to take any pictures! So for Easter I had her wear her dress again for probably the last time. (I can't imagine there being any other occassions that she would wear it again before outgrowing it.)

The kids only went to school one day last week. Tuesday - Thursday they were off due to snow days (14 inches) and Friday was teaching planning day for the upcoming conferences. So this week John if off 3 days and Alyssa 2 days due to parent/teacher conferences. The kids have only had one full week of school this year so far.

Kids had another snow day on this day at home with Dad, while I was enjoying some 70 degree weather in Southern Arizona.
