Troy Donahue was an actor of 1950s and early 1960s was born in New York City, New York, U.S. on January 27, 1936. Troy’s birth name was Merle Johnson; Jr. He was son of the General Motors executive. In 50s, he attended journalism at the Columbia University in New York.
He left the journalism in the middle and started acting in the Hollywood. He was spouted by the talent scout and remained it to Troy Donahue. He was represented by the hennery Wilson an n agent who also was an agent of rock Hudson.
Troy stared his film career in 1957 in movie called The Monolith Monsters, and done the movie Man Afraid in the same year. These films lead him to larger parts. In 1959, he did the movie A Summer Place, teen idol Sandra Dee, which came as surprise him and made him star among the youth of 50s. As he wanted to play against Sandra Dee. This came as fortune and he signed a contract with the Warner Bro. in their hit movies such as A Distant Trumpet and Rome Adventure, costarring with Suzanne Pleshette. Troy married Suzanne in 1964 and divorces her in that year.
His contract ended in 1965 with the Warner Bro. of the release d of movie My Blood Runs Cold. After that he struggle for the roles in the films along with drug addiction and alcoholism problems. He then married to actress Valerie Allen, in 1966 and divorced her in 1968. He was cast in the high profile film The God Father II in 1974 as fiancé of Connie Corleone with character name Merle Johnson as his real name is.
After the release of My Blood Runs Cold (1965), Donahue’s contract with Warner Bros. ended. He later struggled to find new roles and had problems with drug addictionand alcoholism. He was married again in 1966 to actress Valerie Allen, but they divorced in 1968. In 1970 he appeared in the daytime drama The Secret Storm. In 1974 he was cast in his most high-profile role, a small part in The Godfather Part II as the fiancé of His character was called Merle Johnson, Donahue’s real name.
He died at the age of 65 on bedsides with his fiancé Zheng Cao

Another season finale. Another blind item mystery solved. I can now confirm that Georgina’s top-secret baby bump — revealed in the closing minutes of tonight’s Gossip Girl‘s finale — was the out-of-the-blue pregnancy shocker at the center of my March 22 brain teaser. But the news that Dan’s going to be a papa was just one of several OMG! moments in the season-ender (Chuck shot! Dan still loves Serena! Jenny banished to suburbia!). Luckily, exec producer Stephanie Savage agreed to a little post-climax Q&A to help make sense of what went down and preview what’s to come.
My first question: Were those Taylor Momsen’s real tears?
STEPHANIE SAVAGE: Yes. I wasn’t there on the day they shot that, but that’s what it really looks like if a girl with raccoon eyes cries that much. There was nothing we could do.
How long will Jenny be gone for?
SAVAGE: I’d rather not say.
Will she be a changed person when she returns?
SAVAGE: Yes. What happens in the finale has a real impact on Jenny.
Safe to say Blair/Chuck are far from over?
SAVAGE: That is correct.
But how does she forgive him for sleeping with Jenny?
SAVAGE: [Chuck getting shot] is significant enough that it creates some space for them to, if not exactly rekindle their romance right away, at least find a humanity in each other. She doesn’t forgive him immediately. But it’s a significant enough event to recalculate things.
So the Jenny thing is not irreparable?
SAVAGE: It’s Chuck and Blair. It’s always going to be a wild ride. And that’s the thing. I believe personally that their love for each other is really strong. They are going to encounter incredible obstacles over the course of their time together and the question is whether or not they’re strong enough to make it through.
It’s been announced that Ed Westwick will be traveling to Paris with Blake Lively and Leighton Meester to shoot scenes for the season premiere. Does that mean Chuck was wearing a bullet-proof vest or something?
SAVAGE: Ed will definitely be filming in Paris with us this summer. That’s all I can confirm. Don’t rule out flashbacks. And we’ve been visited by ghosts before.
Let’s talk about the baby bombshell. Was it always your plan for Georgina to come back pregnant?
SAVAGE: Yes. We did the math on her leaving town. We sent her away and we were like, “Hmm… that could work out well.” The last gesture I made to [Michelle] when she went away was I mimed a belly bump so she had something to look forward to when she came back.
Does Mercy‘s cancellation mean we’ll get more Georgina next season?
SAVAGE: It certainly opens the door to expanding her role. We just got the news a few days ago so we’re still in process of figuring out how it affects our plans. We love Michelle and Georgie and would welcome both of them spending much more time with us.
Dan was planning to follow Serena to Paris when he was interrupted by Georgina. Safe to say the Dan/Serena love story is…
SAVAGE: … reactivated. Sorting through that is going to become a larger story.

Less than 24-hours after being named the new Miss USA, a first for an Arab-American woman, pictures of Rima Fakih participating in a 2007 pole dancing competition have surfaced. The one above is courtesy of Detroit’s Mojo in the Morning.
Donald Trump is said to be investigating.
I’m not really sure what punishment Fakih could face in this matter considering that the Miss USA pageant included lingerie photos and videos as part of this year’s competition.
Really, how long can it be before lapdancing is included in the “talent” portion of the evening?
As to whether Fakih will suffer a similar fate to Carrie Prejean and be fired by Trump fom her corporate position as Miss USA, Rima could always just claim she was taking part in America’s hottest workout trend.

Fat Embolism: The Term Unexplained In “House”

LOS ANGELES (GaeaTimes.com)- What exactly is fat embolism? The term was referred to in the final episode of the popular ABC television series “House” and since then people have been very eager to know more about the term. Considering the fact that social networking site Twitter has become the most popular mode of communication, people are also tweeting on the subject.
Thanks to the television serial, people are now talking of death caused by an ailment that was supposedly not even heard of before. According to medical history, fat embolism was first detected in the year 1873. Doctors explained that the syndrome was the result of an accumulation of fat macro globules in the thin tracts of the lungs which leads to breathing problems as the fat in the lungs choke the respiratory passage.
Fat embolism according to doctors is a very rare disease and is also very difficult to detect in a person. Although the cause for the development of such a disease may be a minor fracture, a tissue injury, burns on the skin or any respiratory disorder, many of us are quite unfamiliar with the term. After the recent mention of fat embolism by one of the characters in “House”, the common man seems to have become addicted to the term and is on the hunt for sources which may help them to get a better explanation of the medical term, an explanation that was not provided in the serial.
In the final episode of “House”, the character of Hannah dies of fat embolism, which is caused by an amputation operation. Since then people have been on the lookout for an explanation to fat embolism.

Harry Wappler (1936-2010)

It is with great sadness that I note the passing of Harry Wappler, the dean of Northwest weathercasters for over a quarter century. As many of you remember, Harry was the lead meteorologist on KIRO-TV during the 70s, 80s, and 90s. He was one of the most genuine, kind, warm-hearted individuals I have ever met, and a passionate, enthusiastic member of the local weather community.

I got to know him quite well when I returned to UW to join the atmospheric sciences faculty. Although Harry did not have a degree in atmospheric sciences (he had a B.A. in speech from Northwestern and a graduate degree from Yale Divinity School!), he was an avid student of Northwest weather and I learned a great deal from him about the convergence zone and other local weather features. Harry was the TV weathercaster that I would watch. He was a mainstay of the local weather community and secured substantial funding from KIRO to invite a distinguished meteorologist to town each year. The local chapter of the American Meteorological Society would meet at KIRO once a year and Harry always supplied a nice carrot cake. I still remember that carrot cake fondly.

To give you an idea of Harry's involvement with the community, on November 13, 1981 a major storm was offshore. The numerical prediction technology at that time was fairly primitive and without much skill for such events. Harry had a new-fangled invention that the National Weather Service did not possess: a device that could animate satellite imagery, something we take for granted today. An intense storm was obvious in the animation and headed our way. Harry made a tape of the satellite loop and rushed it to the National Weather Service folks who put out a timely and accurate warning. He could have kept it to himself and smoked the other stations, but that was not Harry's way.

The only time there was a slight bit of tension between me and Harry was when I had my 101 students write down the forecasts of all the local TV stations and scored them compared to the Weather Service. None of the stations were statistically better than the Weather Service, but another station had beaten KIRO. He called my chairman asking about this investigation (probably pushed on by his management). But next time we met, he smiled, told me it was water under the bridge, and we remained very friendly for the rest of his career.

A few times I went out with him in public. Everyone knew him and treated him as a member of the family. They would come up to him and tell their weather tales, and he would listen so intently and with obvious warmth, without ego or pretense. They went away feeling special.

I wish I had talked to him more often after he retired, but I have very fond memories of him, as as I suspect many of you do as well. Harry was a remarkable individual and we are all lucky to have shared some time with him.

When pop fans first met Ciara back in 2004 she was an 18 year old singing about her "Goodies" that "stay in the jar," but with a slinky sexiness that was anything but innocent. Her musical journey since has led Ciara in a variety of additional directions including her female empowerment anthem "Like a Boy." Now, with the help of Ludacris on guest rap and Tricky Stewart with The-Dream handling production, a fully adult Ciara is back to the sexiness she seems to do best. Tonight is the World Cup Soccer Friendly game between Venezuela and Honduras.

Highlights of Idol Gives Back

The Top 12 Perform “Keeping the Dream Alive” – I’ll give them a pass on a night for Charity! It was semi-less cheesy.
The Footage they are showing from the poor areas of the country and the rest of the world definitely were driving the message home. I hate to put them as a HIGHLIGHT as they were very sad and moving. But I think you guys get what I mean. Very effective.
The Ford Music Video – definitely upped the budget on those crazy effects!
Joss Stone and Jeff Beck with the Jubilation Choir perform “I Put a Spell on You” – Really can’t go wrong with this combo. Great guitar, great vocals. But still don’t understand the song choices so far tonight (see Black Eyed Peas in the lowlights). I have a feeling Carrie is going to sing one of her songs that heavily delivers a message from her latest album. I’m already dreading it, but I like her so much she’ll obviously make the highlights!

Lyrids Meteor Shower 2010. The Lyrids are an average shower, usually producing about 20 meteors per hour at their peak. These meteors can produce bright dust trails that last for several seconds. This year’s shower should peaks on the night of April 21 and the morning of the 22nd, although some meteors can be visible from April 16 – 25.
The quarter moon will set early in the evening, leaving a dark sky for the best possible viewing in dark locations. Look for meteors radiating from the constellation of Lyra after midnight.

Fox recently launched her own show, “America Live,” on the network after co-hosting “America’s Newsroom” with Bill Hemmer.

Stern presented Kelly with Fox News’ three biggest names: Bill O’Reilly, Glenn Beck, and Sean Hannity.She’s been making her way through the media this week, including sitting with Howard Stern on his radio show. She lowered herself to sit with Howard Stern! Why would anyone willingly subject themselves to Howard Stern? When a woman sits down with Howard Stern, he makes her look like a whore. All it takes is one minute with Howard Stern to turn a lady into a whore.
Kelly played the old game, “Marry, F*ck, Kill” on Stern’s Siriux XM Radio Show. Who didn’t know that was coming? It’s a wonder he didn’t try to get her to strip down for him. Stern gave her three names and she had to say which one she’d have sex with, which one she would marry and which one she would kill.

ANNIE LENNOX HIV POSITIVE — British pop star Annie Lennox shocked the crowd and everyone who were watching on TV when she performed “Chain of Fools” with soul icon Aretha Franklin last night during the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame concert on HBO. Fans of the pop star became worried about the star’s health because she wore a black shirt which had the phrase “HIV POSITIVE” written in front of it.

Aaron Fresh: Talented Jokester

Raised between America and the island of Trinidad and Tobago, Aaron Fresh is a breath-taking combination of West Indian and American culture. Beginning his love affair with song at an early age, 17-year-old Aaron knew that he wanted to sing by the time he reached seven years old.
“I started entering talent shows in middle school and I tried out for agencies,” remembers Aaron. “Any opportunity where I could showcase my talent, I was there.”
Born in Chicago, Aaron is the youngest of two brothers. His family lived in several different cities around the United States until his mother sent Aaron to live with his grandmother in Port-Au-Spain, Trinidad at eight years old.
“I love Trinidad, my favorite thing about this island is TK,” says Aaron.
In Port-Au-Spain, Aaron gained a sincere appreciation for reggae, dub and calypso music. Drawing inspiration from homegrown West Indian acts like Buju Banton and Sizzla, Aaron made sure that with his love of music, he still remembered to enjoy his childhood. He became quite the practical joker and routinely tricked his friends into silly things for fun.
“My friend Keyshawn and I always do practical jokes and once I decided to do a coin trick where you put a coin on your forehead and count the times you can hit your forehead on a table before it falls off,” recalls Aaron. “So I put a coin on my forehead and did it six times. Then I said to Keyshawn, ‘Bet you can’t beat it!’ and I pressed the coin to his head really hard but kept the coin in my hand without him knowing. He reached 161 times before he realized that the coin wasn’t there! Good times!”
After graduating from Holy Names Prep School and attending Holy Cross College briefly, Aaron returned to the States to live with his mother in Southern California. Then one day after school, as Aaron and his friend were rehearsing for their high school talent show and the young man’s voice caught the ear of producer, Reo Mitchell.
“We were rehearsing at my friend’s house and Reo was walking to his car and he overheard me singing,” says Aaron. “That was enough to catch his attention so he knocked on the door and soon after introduced me to Nick Cannon who immediately said, ‘Let’s get it started!’”
Just like that Aaron’s performance dreams were realized and he quickly signed to Cannon’s NCredible Entertainment. Now the teen splits his time between school and recording his debut album TK. On one of his first songs, “Spending All My Time,” Aaron sings about his love and says he “needs a few more seconds in my day” to cherish his special lady. On another track entitled “Dirty Girl,” Aaron deftly meshes his West Indian roots with a pop-edged beat as he sings over the reggae-inspired track that’s sure to get the party moving.
Growing up watching acts like Usher and Michael Jackson, Aaron knows that his cross-culture of Caribbean and North American heritage makes him one of a kind and he’s ready to earn his place in the spotlight.
“No one has done a Caribbean dub voice mixed with American R&B,” says Aaron. “My music really portrays me as a person because I’m American but have a Caribbean background. I have no musical preference, I like everything as long as you can feel the vibe through your soul.”
In addition to working with the producers behind The Pussycat Dolls and The Backstreet Boys, the teenager also wields the pen.
“I do co-write some songs,” says Aaron. “When I feel a beat or certain instruments and it sounds like I could be comfortable, I’m rocking.”
As for working alongside actor-producer-artist-label head Nick Cannon? Aaron says he’s just trying to keep up.

Considering the number of women that both Tiger Woods and Jesse James used for pleasure, I'm wondering if these guys are really women haters in disguise, rather than 'sex addicts'. Both bear a strong resemblance to a 'misogynist'.

Take a look at the public humiliation they caused each of their wives. You can't tell me that it never crossed their minds that the more women they brought into the mix the more hurtful and humiliating it would be for their wives who were very much in the public eye.

This is definitely a theory to be investigated by psychological experts, of which I am not, but it is certainly food for thought. As single women, you most certainly want to become familiar with the characteristics of a misogynist so that you can avoid them at all costs while selecting your husband to be. As the pain they can inflict on women is immeasurable.

Florence Henderson’s Broadway debut was, similar to anyone starting out, a small part. But her abilities and talent quickly caught the eye of the likes of Rogers and Hammerstein and Joshua Logan. Thus two years later in 1954, at the ripe old age of 20, Florence was cast as the star, originating the role of Fanny on Broadway in the musical Fanny.
