Update DMC: Cards

I'm back with a DMC update post. I hope everyone is ok and enjoyingwhatever it is you are doing ingame.

The last few posts regarding this subject were a few weeks ago. Unfortunately on my server the cards have dropped in price to way lower than I predicted. The only card holding its own is Tsunami which is around 25,000g - 30,000g on my server. The rest are:

These prices are extremely low and this means my investment to make 7 decks as seen in the posts:

I have managed to move on 3 decks up to now. 2 x Volcano @ 18,000g and 16,000g and 1 x Hurricane @ 16,000g putting me around 10,000g in profit taking into the acount the extra card sales.

I still believe that the sales of the cards will make me double money but for the time invested its a borderline worthwhile project.

I will keep you guys updated over the next week before the Faire rolls into town and buggers up the prices altogether.

I have not posted the last few days due to multiple things. The main one being a total lack of topics to post on. The topics we post as Gold Bloggers have nearly always already been posted elsewhere. Trying to find new things to write about is like trying to find where those French people hid the Grail.

I will post again but only when I find it to be relevant, so no more crappy posting just for the sake of posting, that was not my plan when I started this blog and I seem to have slipped into the posting everyday scenario.

If I have some tips on making gold or updates on my topics/projects I will post and it will be helpful and not some drivel as I have written the last few weeks.

Plans: Sulfuron Hammer and 6,000g

I have been quite succesful selling one pattern of late. This pattern is:

Plans: Sulfuron Hammer

This pattern is not tremendously expensive costing only 1 x Sulfuron Ingot. This is a drop from Golemagg in Molten Core or you can buy one from the Auction House. Current prices are around 500g - 700g on my server and I guess yours will not be that much different. I have alot of these due to weekly MC Farming for tier gear and drops at the end of Wrath.

Once you have a Sulfuron Ingot you are ready to hand in the quest to receive Plans: Sulfuron Hammer.

The quest giver is called Lokhtos Darkbargainer and is located in the Grim Guzzler inside Blackrock Depths.

The quickest way to get there is to use a Direbrew Remote this will take you to the Grim Guzzler itself.

The quest is given by Lokhtos and is not repeatable. The name of the quest is A Binding Contract and involves following/interacting with the conversation. In three or four clicks you have the quest completed and are able to swap the Sulfuron Ingot for Plans: Sulfuron Hammer.

Conjuring Contract

The quest can be done by any character who is over level 60 and able to access BRD. I used all my higher level characters to attain this pattern and have sold two Plans: Sulfuron Hammer for 3,000g each in the last 4 or 5 days. I learnt one on my Blacksmith as I may need it later on.

This wont make you a millionaire but if you have a Direbrew Remote and a few characters to use then it only takes 2 minutes to get the pattern. A hell of a lot better than afk noobing around in Orgrimmar/Stormwind.

Smudger's sales over the Weekend

If you read me often you will know that I have not posted much this weekend due to real life commitments interferring with my World of Warcraft play time. This did not stop me from making around 13k in sales over the weekend. Again not bad for roughly 1 or 2 hours playtime over the last few days.

I managed to stop being lazy and get my Leatherworker all patterns from the Twilight Highlands as I have not played the character much I had forgotten about it. This opened up leather PvP gear for me which is quite highly priced on the Auction House. I made a few sales of the Rogue/Feral Druid gear on Sunday which was nice.

As you can see, I didnt sell a great deal of items but I managed to move on some quality ones. Quality over quantity. A few Heavy Savage Armor Kits aswell which I posted about in Double up gold from Heavy Savage Armor Kits, alot of various Plate, Cloth and Leather PvP gear and also Dust of Disappearance which flys out of the Auction House and is bought by lazy people.

3 birds with 1 stone

I wanted to try to get one of the new Jewelcrafting patterns. Unfortnately for me they are a world drop from Cataclysm mobs.

My original idea was to level my mage up from 81 and hope that a pattern dropped along the way. I levelled upto 83 with no luck and thought I would try something else.

I returned to Tol Barad, the scene of my Tol Barad Crocs, Crikey!!!! crime. The beautiful thing about these Crocolisks is that you have a triple way to farm. They are:

Thats quite a versatile farming spot i would say. As I allude too quite often, farming is not always worth the effort but this spot is certainly a way to bring in extra gold per hour.

After an hour of farming I had no pattern but enough Crocolisk Tails to make around 60 x Beer-Basted Crocolisk and around 230 x Savage Leather or 46 x Heavy Savage Leather.

Total gold haul would be around 2,200g for 1 hour of farming. The market for these items is very steady and will not change much throughout tier 11.

Sales from 4.0.6 or Patch Day

I have not had a great deal of time to do anything over the last few days so I was interested how much I could make out of the Inferno Ruby market after the updated Meta Gems for 4.0.6.

I managed to make over 10,000g which is not a great sum but considering I was online for around 1 hour its fine by me. The picture below depicts my sales of Delicate, Brilliant and Bold Inferno Rubies over the posting period. I subtracted the earlier ones and it came to 8,960g, tally in a measly 1,156g in uncut Shadowspirit Diamonds and we come to a grand total of 10,116g.

This was quite a good haul for me which I was really happy with. It also made up for some of the disappointment regarding the current Darkmoon Deck prices.

I also managed to sell Plans: Sulfuron Hammer for 2,999g. I love some people on WoW. I think I am going to get another one of those on an alt character.

What 3 Pieces Of Advice Would You Give A Little Goblin? (3 Top Tips For New Auctioneers?)

This is my entry for "Cold's Gold Blogging Carnival" on the subject of advice for new players or "Goblins" wanting to start on the Auction House.

I am going to write this with the assumption that the said player is already at top level.

If you are at top level then you already have some source of gold income. If you would like to increase your capacity for gold making then these 3 tips will hopefully help you. One tip that goes without saying is that you will need a certain amount of addons. A sales tracking addon like beancounter which is part of the Auctioneer suite will help immensely with the start up.

1) Plan your project

Fail to plan, plan to fail

This is a major part of any idea. You need a plan of action.

Know what you are going to sell
When to sell it
What the costs are to craft the items
Set up all your required addons
Research it

2) Research the chosen market

As with any good idea research is required. Lets use glyphs as an example but this is the same for any market. If you want to sell glyphs then checking the prices of all glyphs over a period of 3-5 days to see an average with beancounter is the best way to get an overview. This will also help you see which glyphs are selling for the highest price and which are being listed the most. See the two examples below, one is a cheap glyph which is a waste of time to craft the other is an expensive one that sells well.

From this info is obvious to see that some sell better than others and also gives you an edge knowing what to craft first and relatively risk free. This method of research is not 100% accurate but will definately give you a foot up regardless of what market you choose to enter. Check your competitors, add them to your friends list so you know when they are both on and offline.

Check the forums and gold blogs for more information pertinent to your chosen path. They will have some tips for you with regards to addons that make life easier aswell as selling tips for most professions.

3) Stick to one or two markets at the start

Now with the planning, research and hopefully a few sales behind you, you will be feeling more confident. You need to be careful, many "goblins" fall prey to the taking too much on syndrome. If you visit the gold blogs regularly then you will see more and more quick tip ideas. DO NOT try to do all of them. If it fits into your model and plan then by all means go for it. If it does not then leave it alone until you are confident of risking gold in another endeavour.

Thats all I have for you, if you take the time to learn the market that will be your biggest advantage over your competitors. Implement the 3 points wisely and you will have a risk free gold making environment to enjoy.

The Waiting Game

For my Inscription and the 30k gamble and DMC: Gamble update it looks like I may have to wait a week or so before seeing any sales back.

The price of these cards has nearly dropped through the ground. The lowest being Earthquake at 4k and the highest being Tsunami at 40k. The Hurricane and Volcano are at 17k and 19k respectively. These figures would still make me some profit but not as much as I was hoping for. These items are BiS for some classes so I expected more from them.

I am however going to wait till after the Faire has disappeared and then sell them off. Hopefully people will have gotten rid of their cards by then and the competiton will be smaller and therefore the prices a little higher.

Enchanting change that may have been overlooked

Three new bracer enchants are available. They increase Agility by 50, Strength by 50, or Intellect by 50 respectively. Item level 300 or higher required. These new recipes are rare world drops.

Enchant Off-Handed - Superior Intellect now increases Intellect by 40, down from 100.

These are going to be in high demand and maybe got overlooked with the changes to Jewelcrafting. If you get one of these patterns on from the Auction House or from a world drop on day one of the patch then it could be worth quite a bit of gold. Firstly to sell the pattern and secondly to make/sell the enchants.

The enchant costs are similar for all of them.

Enchant Bracer - Agility

Enchant Bracer - Major Strength

Enchant Bracer - Mighty Intellect

These will be very expensive to make but the price should be reflected at the Auction House. The best and most inexpensive way to maximise these enchants would be to sell your skills in trade channel. These enchants should be able to fetch at least 300g - 500g tip in the first few days of the patch.

Enchant Off-Handed - Superior Intellect on the otherhand is recieving a rather large nerf. This should'nt really have any impact as it is the only off-hand weapon enchant available.

I hope some of you get these early and make an absolute killing.

Dreamcloths v Spellthread

If you are a Tailor you will know that there are a few different ways to make gold from the profession. One thing that is an option is using your Dreamcloth to create:

All of the above are quite expensive to craft. There are currently six ways to make Dreamcloth all of them take:

These are on a 7 day cooldown meaning you can only craft a maximum of 6 per week. The cheapest one materials wise on my server is using Volatile Life these are currently around 6g each. The Bolt of Embersilk is also about 20g each bringing the total to around 340g for one Dreamcloth.

If you use the Dreamcloth wisely you can either craft Epics with "x" amount of Dreamcloth which is a very risky market or you can sell Powerful Enchanted Spellthread or Powerful Ghostly Spellthread which is a probably my choice for recieving a continuous income from tailoring. The price of these are currently around 700g and it is up to Tailors to keep the prices high.

The market for Powerful Enchanted Spellthread and Powerful Ghostly Spellthread is very competitive but only Tailors have the mats and nearly everyone will need these. The demand will start to rise once people in smaller guilds and pugs are raiding the content regularly.

As always check your own servers prices and make educated decisions considering how much demand for the item there is, how much supply is currently available and also the current market prices.

Ink Traders in Stormwind/Orgrimmar

I guess most of you have MMO-Champion favourited but if not here is some pretty big news. The Ink traders are now in the Major Cities:

Alot of people will be trading inks now and not only scribes. Easy access to Inferno Inks means we could sin my opinion see a drop in price across the board. This could also cause DMC to become cheaper due to people being able to trade 10 x Blackfallow Ink for Inferno Ink on their doorstep and not having to be in Dalaran anymore.

This will be interesting to watch and see how this affects all ink markets.

Plate PvP Gear

If you are a Blacksmith and are not selling Plate PvP Gear, especially the Bloodied set then someone needs to slap you around a bit.

If you have all the patterns then check the Auction House for currently posted items and see which are currently least in stock. My best sellers are:

The are items are not greatly expensive to craft costing between 10-15 Elementium Bars and 10-15 Volatile Fire so you should maybe manage to get double money. If you can sell these in bulk then this is a very good way of earning gold from Blacksmithing.

Elementium hot spot and combo farming

Another quick post for you peeps who love farming. If you quest alot, especially in Twilight Highlands you will know that pre nerf the Ore spawn rate was immense.

If you miss those days of ore abundance then this tip is for you. In Southern Twilight Highlands theres a cave where these memories are no longer pipedreams, slip through the Time Tunnel into this ore abundant world.

There are over a dozen veins in here including Pyrite and Elementium. Go into the cave and head to the right uptil the dead end then turn around and go back down and check the rest of the cave out.

The veins are spread throughout the cave, a full run through means killing quite alot of mobs as the cave is very large and full of mobs. If you are level 84 this run through will give decent XP, gold and a quite a few Embersilk Cloth. For the level 85's just gold, cloth and grey items.

If you are bored, a quick run through here together with my Volatile Fire farming tip Volatile Fire farming spot! could net you over 1000,g per hour if done right.

Farming is normally not worth the time investment but if you want a change in scenery, are fed up with the monotony of your respective Auction House or just want to get to 85 and earn a bit of gold whilst doing it, this is a worthwhile way of doing it.

Ore Crusher Addon

This has been posted on MMO but I've been trying this addon out the last few days as I am not a spreadsheet geek. Its quite cool.

Check it out guys if you like all your WoW stuff on when playing WoW. All info is dependant on your auctioneer/auctionator addons scan so theres no manual input required and therefore streamlining ore decisions.

Smelter's Tip

A quick tip for smelters today. If you read some of my previous posts you will know that in certain professions you can craft base trade materials into something else to and flip them. An example of this is Quick gold from Frostweave Cloth .

Smelter's are not any different. As always "On My Server" this flip is still viable most of the time with weekends normally being the exception.

Todays flip concerns Hardened Elementium Bars the base materials required for this are:

10 x Elementium Bar or 20 x Elementium Ore
4 x Volatile Earth

1 x Hardened Elementium Bar costs anywhere from 180 - 200g on weekdays whereas the materials cost is:

20 x Elementium Ore @ ca.4g20 each - 84g
4 x Volatile Earth @ ca.10g each - 40g

Total cost of raw materials being around the 124g - 130g mark. If you get lucky with the Ores and Earths you could get them for alot cheaper.

Hardened Elementium Bars are very good sellers and are still in high demand due to Blacksmithing Epics items requiring them. The demand may rise once the BoE craftable epics recieve a gem slot making them slighty better and also BiS for alot of pre raid/hc raid classes.

My Gold/WoW Set Up

I must confess, since I farmed ores and herbs on day one and two of Cataclysm I havent done any farming at all. As most gold makers would tell you, you time is better invested elsewhere. This is true but if you are like me, an altoholic, then farming whilst levelling is a good way to gain extra XP whilst questing. I have recently finished my 5th level 85 and most of the time I level with two gathering professions to maximize my versatility. Theses trade goods can them be sent to whichever one of my other characters needs it.

My current Characters are:

85 Blood Elf Paladin - Blacksmithing/Jewelcrafting (Main)
85 Orc Warlock - Tailoring/Enchanting
85 Tauren Druid - Leatherworking/Inscriptions
85 Blood Elf Death Knight - Mining/Herbalism
85 Troll Shaman - Alchemy/Skinning
82 Troll Mage - Herbalism/Mining

All the professions are maxxed out of course. This is similar to how Cold's "Factory" works I believe but with less 85's :D. My Death Knight is in the process of changing to Engineering as that is the only profession I have never had the interest to level but they have some useful gadgets nowadays so I'm going to give it a go.

The advantages of having a system like this means you have every available option when integrating professions. All these professions dove-tail with each other in one way or another.

I currently run with two bank alts one with its own guild bank and 6 tabs, the other is a low level character that I don't use. I mean who on earth wants to play a Priest........ Both of these characters are based in Undercity mainly due to the large amount of traffic in Orgrimmar that used to cause immense lag when auction house scanning pre Cataclysm. Our server is runs at medium population with occassional forays into high, WoW Census puts us at around 25,000 characters. I use one alt for inscriptions and scroll posting and the other for my stockpile ie Saronite Bars, Vanilla rare and epics and world drops.

The problem with being an active raider is that I sometimes dont have the time to sit and camp the auction house or bark in trade, more importantly I prefer to do both things anonymously and not on any of my 85 characters. I tend to sell my gems and my PvP DPS gear (my favourite gold maker) on my main character whilst waiting for heroic dungeon timers to pop. This gives me the time to cancel and repost and is the best way I have found to have a certain amount of control over your sales. Cold would call it "stealth" selling but if people persist on auctioning 8 items at a time then my 1 on a 12 hour post has got a high probability of selling. This rings true regardless of which character/profession I am playing at that time.

That was a little insight into my gold making, I have to admit I like most aspects of the game with the exception of PvP. I participated in CS mod + the betas and the subsequent releases back at the end of the 90's and PvP in its current form just isn't the same as it was, wall hacks, speed hacks and the insane lag of early broadband connections were annoying but at least apart from the weapons being different the playing field was even. This cannot be said about the current WoW PvP system.

Jumping in Orgrimmar or E-Peening with Volcanic Stone Drake should never be on the agenda of game players, if you are not going to do anything productive then why the hell are you online. Go out, get some fresh air and play the most realistic game ever......real life.

Last point, I play Horde and only Horde. I support the Auction House Junkies alliance opinion.

"JMTC" How would you make gold if you had limited play time?

This is my post for JMTC's WoW Gold Blogging Carnival the theme for this month is advice you would give people who have limited gold making time.

This is a category I personally fall into and I suspect so do many Gold Bloggers. We dont sit all day on the PC or on Remote AH camping the Auction House. Some of us have to work for a living :( If your playtime is limited through real life and when you do play you raid, level or do something else that is fun for you then maybe you need a helping hand making gold with the least amount of input possible.

I would recommend not trying to sell everything we Gold Bloggers advertise. This will most certainly lead to your gold being tied up in items you cannot move due to not being online enough. Find what YOU think you can sell within your minimum time and stick to it. A few examples of this in each profession would be:

If your a Blacksmith craft DPS PvP Plate Gear, Enchanters rods, Belt Buckles(if the mats are cheap enough) these items always sell and although the market is competitive you can still move many pieces.

Enchanter's should sell +15 stat Scrolls for easy... infact very easy gold.

Tailor's can craft bags and sell them, be it Netherweave, Frostweave, Abyssal or Illusionary bags. I posted about my bag experiences in Dont forget your bags or more specifically bag!!. Tailors can also take advantage of cheap cloth and flip it as bolts, a prime example is Frostweave which I also posted about whilst writing Quick gold from Frostweave Cloth.

Scribe's can sell Glyphs of course. Research the Auction House and find out which Glyphs are selling best on your server. If you only get limited time to post auctions then post when you log in and then cancel and post again when you log out. This should guarantee at least a few sales as glyph selling can be difficult if you are not online for a prolonged amount of time. Check back on Warcraft Corner in the next few days for a whats hot and whats not glyph review.

Alchemist's can use their Transmute: Living Elements spell to flip eternals for a juicy profit. Transmutation masters can make Meta gems, sell your Transmute: Truegold cooldown or make flasks to sell which I do not recommend at the moment, the reason being the proccs are terrible and the mats cost more than the flasks. Check it out Writers Block and Flask Master.

I do not have a high level Engineer but the Goblin Barbecue is needed by some raids and is also currency for Fractured Cogwheel, so if its cheap to make that could be a gold opportunity.

Leatherworker's could flip leather on the Auction House i.e buy cheap leathers and make it into heavy's to sell. Craft the Darkbrand Leggings if the mats are available and cheap enough as these sell very well and also check the price of Savage Armor Kits as these are a nice way to make a bit of gold. Both of these you will find in more detail in the posts Leatherworkers Gold Making Tip and Double up gold from Heavy Savage Armor Kits.

Jewelcrafter's have many options open to them. Buying cheap ores to prospect then selling/vendoring/crafting items from the gems prospected. This have been covered numerous times by a plethora of gold blogs. If you want to find some info on it click here. Cutting and selling gems is similar in a way to the glyph market. You need to invest quite a bit of time otherwise you will be undercut around 15 mins after posting. Same applies here as with the glyphs. Post when you log in and cancel/repost when you log out.

If you do not have these professions or are at a lower level then I suggest checking out vendor sold items that sell well on the open market. You can start with items like Jeweler's Setting and Dust of Disappearance. These are easy to move, thank god for the lazy people in World of Warcraft. If you want to move up to selling more expensive item you can try the Dalaran pets which I posted about yesterday Dalaran Pets for a quick buck.

You can also start to flip items on the Auction House. For this you require some type of sales tracker like Beancounter or the new TSM market price addon. Using this you can then see what the value is for the item and buy it cheap and sell it for more. This is quite risky and takes a bit of experience before being able to fully utilise it but when its setup and you know what you are doing this is a very powerful gold making machine.

Auction House Junkies or just junk.....

Extreme title I know, sorry Cold and Wes but it got you all to look didn't it. Personally I really like the podcast and I dont think I'm alone. Once the guys get into it we will start to see more diversity which is great to look forward to.

Cold loves his fortune cards and its no surprise why, heck, 35k in a night from barking and selling those bad boys. One critism is that probably alot of AHJ listeners will not have a Scribe character causing them to turn off or do a dreaded fast forward. Too much focus on this way of gold making made the 1st episode of the podcast seem a bit linear when infact it was far from it. As soon as the words "selling mysterious fortune cards" was mentioned at the start of the 2nd episode I cringed but it was only a quick foray into them and then the podcast shuffled (no pun intended) on at a really good pace covering amongst other thing jewelcrafting, shuffles, enchanting.

Lets diversify guys, get some more professions in there. I would like to hear what is/was trending on Wes and Cold's server's that week and maybe a quick overview of the topics to be covered in the coming episode. The Enchanted Thorium Blades tip was brilliant, these little nuggets, like the fortune cards to a certain degree are the topics that will seperate Auction House Junkies from any other gold making podcast that is already casting or wanting to cast in the future.

The sound quality of the cast is very good and after my initial problems trying to listen to it I found today that the imbedded player was working fine, computers are strange beasts sometimes. As the 1st episode was too focused on the Fortune Cards, the 2nd (after the first few minutes) in comparison, was diverse enough to keep all parties interested. This is a step in a relatively new direction for the two guys, so give them the support they deserve and we can all learn alot along the way.

Thumbs up from me and with some time this project will become synonymous with gold related podcasting.

Dalaran Pets for a quick buck

First of the bat I would like to thank people for reading my Blog. Its been a month since I started Warcraft Corner and I am enjoying every minute of it. Please follow me, like me, tweet me and basically what ever the hell else "me" you can.

Most of the experienced gold makers make alot of gold from lazy players. One way is by selling vendor attained items.

My friend Breanni sells a few pets in Dalaran which still make a nice profit on the Auction House. Check it out.

Relatively expensive prices but with access to Dalaran being gimped it is still an opportunity to make a quick buck. Here are my beancounter stats for the pets:

I have just noticed that beancounter says 50g per pet. which is correct but dont forget using a Character that is "Exalted" with Kirin Tor will get you the pet for 40g. I have also noticed that my newly installed (10 days old) TradeSkillMaster tracker shows the prices to be higher which is fine by me.

Not a get rich quick scheme but with a bit of patience you can make tidy sum out these three pets alone. There are more option for quick sales in and around vendors and I'll may post about that soon if I am unable to find a suitable post that has already been made.

Inscription Gamble final update before Faire

If you haven't read the last two posts regarding this project then I suggest having a quick read through them.

Inscription and the 30k gamble

DMC: Gamble update

That should get you upto speed. So my 30k turned into roughly 40k spent but that netted me:

Tsunami Deck
Earthquake Deck (which I put on the AH for 25k as no others were up)
Hurricane Deck/Hurricane Deck x 2
Volcano Deck x 2

plus spare cards:

Whilst writing this (bonus of a live blog) I managed to pick up the remaining 6 Stones cards for the Earthquake Deck for 3,500g. Looked like a deal to me.

My total outlay for this project is for arguements sake 45,000g. For that 45,000g I have 7 full decks and 5 spare cards which I can attempt to sell or trade to get another deck. Lets put the spare cards to one side for the rest of the post.

The cost price of a deck currently is ca. 6,500g per deck. That is awesome if I do say so myself. Wheeler dealing, trading, selling high demand cards then trading lower ones to get them back have brought the price per deck tumbling down to a very low initial outlay. However, for this sort of investment we should be expecting a decent amount of profit back. The minimum I would accept at the stage is 3 x my investment. This puts every deck at a value of roughly 20,000g. With the assortment of decks I have I think this price is very modest.

As with anything its all server dependant, I roll on a high population server which undercuts frequently and sometimes downright idiotically. I can see this project taking to at least one week after the Faire has gone to show its true colours and hopefully bear fruition.

Thats all for this time, if anything changes I will update again but I think it will be after the Faire now. Keep you mincers on this project its about to get very interesting as we get down to the business end.

Double up gold from Heavy Savage Armor Kits

I kind of stumbled upon this as I was levelling my Leatherworking, as always check your server prices. The cost of Savage Leather is hovering at 4g50s per leather. Heavy Savage Leather is around 32g per item. Heavy Savage Armor Kit on the otherhand sell for 160 - 200g each.

Maths bit......

Savage Leather x 5 @4g50s = 22.5g per Heavy Savage Leather
4 x Heavy Savage Leather = ca. 90g per Heavy Savage Armor Kit

Heavy Savage Armor Kit = 160 - 200g

These are supposedly pre Greater Mastery on a par with Mastery for tanks so a few will sell that way and maybe some people just have a stamina fetish that needs feeeding like in WotLK........ I am not a PVP'er so I am not sure how they stack up for BG's and arena's.

Quick gold from Frostweave Cloth

On my server Frostweave Cloth is relatively cheap, under 1g per cloth. Bolts of Frostweave on the otherhand are going for at least 10g each. This represents double the price of the cost of Frostweave Cloth.

A great farming spot for this is in Icecrown, Valley of the Fallen Heroes:

It has a very good spawn rate and people has claimed to get over 10 stacks per hour with Northern Cloth Scavenging. Figure in the greens, silver and vendor trash and it is still a worthwhile place to farm the cloth. In my post Dont forget your bags or more specifically bag!! I demonstrated Frostweave Cloths worth in the common market and if you farm the cloth as oppose to buying it you also have other options open to you the most likely being:

Sell the Frostweave Cloth.
Make into Bolt of Frostweave to sell.
Make into Bolt of Imbued Frostweave if you have the Infinite Dust spare.
Craft Abyssal Bags or Frostweave Bags if the market allows it.

Im a also quite certain that solo farming WotLK Dungeons at level 85 would also bring in a nice haul on gold, cloth, greens and vendor trash/items. This is something I will check out over the next few days and report back on.

No-one can tell you how to earn your gold, some people like to farm, some like to camp the auction house and some like to do it all (or try to). Try not to forget, it is a game and you should be having fun doing whatever it is you are doing. If the fun factor is gone and its starting to feel like a chore then maybe take a break or check out another game for a change of scenery.

Making Gold through pet farming

As most pet collectors know there is only one source of reliable pet information and thats at warcraftpets.com, Breanni keeps the site up to date for all avid pet collectors. I myself was an avid collector amassing 111 pets until I stopped near the end of wrath.

Mageshadow posted on new drop zones for the new whelps before Cataclysm was released but I cant seem to find the post anywhere.

Im going to concentrate on the 4 whelps that drop from various zones around Azeroth:

The Suspects

Azure Whelpling

This cutey used to drop from the Elites Wyrmkin in Azshara not it prefers to spend its time being a zone drop in Winterspring. The drop chance is still roughly 1 in 1000. Winterspring is a level 50-55 zone.

Crimson Whelpling

This one is a zone drop in the Wetlands, it used to drop off the Whelps around Mudsprocket before Deathwing changed the loot tables...... Wetlands is a 25-30 zone and again a 1 in 1000 drop rate.

Dark Whelpling

Farming for this used to be in the little corner of the Badlands well known for Mithril to us old school farmers. You can now find it in drops from Ebon Whelps in the Wetlands, Nyxondra's Broodling in the Badlands and also Flamescale Broodling in Burning Steppes. All different level zones but more importantly these little guys only drop from specific NPC's. 1 in 1000 drop rate.

Emerald Whelpling

My favourite Whelp pet. I used to love farming this little beggar. I most certainly wasted a few hours of my life farming this. The old drop place was in the Swamp of Sorrows but now the reside in Northern Feralas and the are lootable from Noxious Whelps Feralas is a 35 - 40 zone.

Farming

The reason I have selected these 4 pets is double edged. On one side is obviously the gold making aspect of it but I love farming these when I have a low level alt that needs a boost up. These are great XP if you have rested bonus and now even more so with guild perks.

Always use an alt that will gain XP, ie one around the level of the mobs you need to kill. I know its obvious but farming these on your main maybe quicker but a darn sight less rewarding. Killing two birds with one stone so to speak.

I had a nice farming route set out before Deathwing came and buggered everything up for me. Wetlands, Swamp of Sorrows then Badlands. The farming just about took me through all levels to be able to kill the required mobs.

These pets sell for roughly 4k on servers and depending on the Whelp sometimes more. Specific mob pets should fetch a little more at the Auction House. Add into that the greenies which can be DE'd for materials to sell its quite a decent gold maker if your luck is in.

Nowadays the gold earned per hour is very low due to the droprate and could likely be earned elsewhere a lot quicker. It could be that you get a whelp on your first kill but more likely it will be at least 500 or 600 kills if not more.

If you are bored of farming ore, herbs, fish, trade materials, the auction house or whatever else it is you spend your time doing and want a change and a bit of XP mob killing with a goal then these little fellas are perfect to farm. Forget Archaeology as its boring as whale dump and farm these guys for some snooky pets.

One word of warning though. You will want to keep every pet you farm, thats the pet collector in you. If one drops ALWAYS kill a few more as most of these pets for some reason or wild rng drop in twos and then you have one for yourself, unless the goblin in you takes ove that is.

Is flipping still viable?!

We have had more new players entering the game since "The Shattering" and the start of Cataclysm. Some of those players do not yet really understanding the mechanics of gold making and selling on the Auction House. People selling world drops for cheap on the Auciton House has led me to pick up a few hot gold makers.

I am going to put a few images up, the quality isn't too good as I didn't have much time today to edit the pictures. A green box is what the current going rate is or what I have sold them for and a red box is what I purchased the item(s) for or what todays minimum buyout is.

The following image contains 9 blue items from todays Auction House scan:

As you can see, nice items for very little gold. If you are starting out on your flipping career then these are brilliant items to test the water with.

The next image is of some rarer items I have already flipped. You have to be lucky to get some of these for those prices but they are available.

There are alot of bargains out there to be had. As I mentioned, with new players coming into the game the world drops appear on the Auction House frequently for very little gold. If you utilize the "resale" scan function on Auctioneer or another addon you use then you could pocket some easy coin.
