What's the best thing about working in fashion?

Being surrounded by gorgeous shoes, clothes and bags all the time is an amazing privilege & I love seeing all the trends 1st.

Any tips on how to get started in fashion journalism?

Definitely the only way to get onto magazines is to do work experience and plenty of it!

Have you got any advice for young people to get into fashion and making a good, successful career?

It's a tough industry but then so are a lot of jobs! Be willing, happy and efficient and you'll stand out!

How did u become the Stylist Magazine Fashion Director?

I've worked on mags for 11 years and was contributing to Stylist when the job (my dream job!) came up so I applied!

Would love some expert style advice... what are the best spring workwear trends for an hourglass shape?

You should accentuate your hourglass shape this spring with nipped in waists and full skirts - also try a chic peplum.

What's the must, must, must have workwear piece for SS12?

I cant survive without a dress for SS12. A straight cut pencil style in bright print is most on trend for this season.

What are your tips for staying chic at afterwork drinks?

It's all about the accessories! Add a bold necklace or stacks of bangles to take a work look through to cocktails.

What are your top tips for staying on trend at work?

You should choose trends that are office appropriate but don't discount bolder looks-these can be adapted for work wear too!

What's the worst work fashion disaster you have ever had?

Actually I had a disaster this weekend when my heel snapped off my shoe! It was at fashion week so I was mortified!

What are the hottest style sunglasses for the season?

This is an easy question! You *have* to have a pair of cats-eye sunglasses this season. So chic!

What route did you take to get to where you are?

The only way to get into fashion is through work experience and internships - that's what I did!

Tips for aspiring fashion writers/bloggers?

I recommend you develop your own tone in writing or style of blogging - but be flexible enough to adapt for future work!

What has been your favourite show from LFW AW12?

This is tough! Can I choose a few please? Jonathan Saunders I loved! McQ was an amazing show and Christopher Kane I want to wear.

What do you think sets British Fashion apart from the rest of the world?

British fashion is totally fearless. We love experimenting which makes the shows always exciting, new and innovative!

How do you prepare your wardrobe for LFW?

I start thinking at previous season, working out what might suit me as well as the key trends. Then I plan daily outfits!

Elle Style Awards 2012

On Monday night we were lucky enough to be invited to the hottest event in the fashion calendar to date - the Elle Style Awards Afterparty! Whilst sipping mini Moets, gorging on heart shaped chocolates and listening to the beautiful Emeli Sande, we hand picked our very own style starlets.

Our best-dressed…

The ‘as-always’ stunning Rosie Huntington Whitley looks preened to perfection as she steps out in this one-of-a-kind showstopper dress! The sheer caped back dress with decadent embellishment teamed with a simple clutch and understated strappy shoes, adheres to all this seasons must-have trends. Its no wonder she scooped this years best dressed! We love.
