Merchant Square Christmas Craft Fair

I will be selling my handmade and handwoven products this Saturday and Sunday 3rd and 4th December at the Merchant Square, Candleriggs, Glasgow, the Christmas market will begin at 11am-6pm on Saturday and from 12noon-6pm on the Sunday.
There will be Handwoven cushions, scarfs, purses and much more at my stall as well as many other
traders selling hand crafted goods such as jewellery, candles, cards, photography, aromatherapy products, art work, baby clothes and cupcake.
Why not come down and buy a treat for your self or for a loved one......

Getting there.......
Merchant Square is located on Candleriggs in The Merchant City just minutes away from the center of Glasgow’s main shopping area – Buchanan Street and the famous George Square.
It is also only a 5 minute walk to the nearest train station at Queen Street. There is ample parking in nearby parking bays or NCP car parks.
There is also easy access to M8 motorway.

I seem to have signed up for an awful lot of Craft fairs this November and December, yikes so I'd best get weaving. Here is a wee look at what I've been up too..

Inspiration for my felt ball jewellery first came when I came back for my travels in the east. Colours seemed so remarkable there, perhaps it was something to to with the sun light. Inspiration came from numerous temple visits, religious ceremonies and hindu deities adorned with floral garlands.

On a drab British day one of these colorful necklaces helps to cheer me up and can also brighten up a casual outfit (great for music festivals)

Woven Dobby Designs

A few of my hand woven dobby textiles, I have always loved experimental designs, fusing traditional techniques and creating new and innovative designs through the endless mixture of yarns and structures. The textiles featured have a dynamic mixture of texture, colour and pattern.They are all available as a range of interior accessories and /or woven lengths, new designs can be made to commission, if your interested please don't hesitate to get in-touch.

This is an example of woven copper, the wire was woven as a plain weave and sateen in sections, afterwards it was oxidized by hand.

Experimenting with twill structures, warp and weft are both 60/2 silk

Double cloth pocket sections using monofilament, wool and cotton. This fabric was produced back in the day when i was a student, colour inspiration came from the sea and marine life.

This is an example of double cloth pleats woven with fine copper wire and 60/2 silk.
