Hi Socal fans. It's such a pleasure to connect with you this month of January. I'm back from a lovely home trip to Australia and now excited to jump into som LA and OC fun. This week is NAMM. It's one of the biggest national Music conferences and it runs all weekend in Anaheim, OC. Yeah the home of Disney... I will be performing on Friday morning and night. Details below. It doesn't take much to please me when i perform, but NAMM takes the cake in one of my best all time gigs and this is my 4th year. Namm music convention, Anaheim: a thousand people in the audience, full on focus from them; my band rockin' it, me dancing, singing, playing, jumping up and down. It's truly fun to witness, our fun. Tee hee.

There might be more things lined up for Feb, but for now, March 28 is the next date AND i'm looking for songwriters to share the stage. see below.

GETTING TO BLISS

I’m starting to come to the realization that I see life a whole lot differently than most people. I’m an insatiably happy person. When I was four years old, I knew exactly who I was going to be, and I was bright, positive and carefree… I’ve always been an optimist. I’ve always felt confident in my abilities, and even when I didn’t know something, I, at least, had an adventurous streak to try something new and see where it took me. I’ve always had a “go get ‘em mentality”.

Put me in a pool of mud, and I’ll see it as a warm, blue ocean to frolic in.

But not everyone sees it the way I see it. Not everyone feels it the way I feel it. Many have to work at it to develop the craft of getting to bliss, for it just doesn’t come naturally to them like it does for me. Many only see the adversity, and stop there.

Today I’m pondering this with a tad of bittersweet. I wish everyone saw it the way I do, and just lived their lives with a spring in their step. But I can’t force others to feel it the way I do, or approach it the way I have. Some people just innately, or mentally, or physically, wake up sad, tired, overwhelmed, despondent, in-confident, insecure or frazzled.

So, for those that don’t live that A Type “I love my life” day, or for those who have felt it once but have seemed to have lost it,… perhaps I can offer some ideas on getting to that place… Want that perpetual joy, optimism and courage?

Wow. Already 2013. Last year just sped by. I'm currently enjoying the Aussie bush and, another wow, just loving the summer here. While here, I'm doing a show on Tuesday in Sydney, and then back in LA later for NAMM end of month. Also wrote a new blog about "Getting To Bliss". Mmmm, doesn't it make you feel good just reading the title? And I'm still looking for song feedback for my 'best of' album. Deadline Jan 15.

The CDs go in the Patriotic Drive and Holiday Drive care packages that are sent to individually named U.S. Service Members deployed in hostile regions, to their children left behind, and to Wounded Warriors recuperating in Transition Units. notable events last month

I attended Taxi Road Rally, early November and once again it was such a success. I showcased my two books "Just Get Out There" and "I Am A Professional Artist" and conducted a "Driver's Ed" course called - “Just Get Out There - Tips for Artists, Songwriters and Musicians to Achieve Success and Self-Empowerment as an Artist Entrepreneur in the new music business climate." It was a lot of fun and met a ton of new, talented songwriters and artists.

On Dec 4, I produced and hosted our annual Songsalive! Holiday Party at The Mint LA (but not without the fabulous help from our volunteers). It was a bumper night! 18 artists performed to a full house, with extraordinary talent, great songs, and a whole bunch of holiday tunes interweaved. We had a best costume prize which went to Brooke Trout, and the over-$2000 worth raffle prizes (offered by a ton of Songsalive! Music Industry Partners) went to Suzy Husner and Michael Vanags (also performers). Key highlight, Katie Garibaldi received the 2012 Songsalive! Songwriter Of The Year Award, with a trophy. She was very surprised and honored. Details. Both hubby and I performed and had an absolute blast. We love The Mint as a venue!

G'day peaceful warriors, gilli moon here.

It has been such a great summer over here in La La land, and now we head into Fall, which by world's standards, is much warmer than expected. My heart goes out, however, to those on the East Coast of the U.S who were impacted by Superstorm Sandy. I personally know several friends who have lost electricity, had major flooding, and damage. So I just want you all to know I'm thinking of you. Donate to the Red Cross here for those in need.

Hi artists. Gilli Moon here. It’s time for cool updates for the following music compilations which I have produced.

· Songsalive! CD Sampler 12 – Songsalive!

· Females On Fire I, II, III – Warrior Girl Music

· Art Of Men CD – Warrior Girl Music

Heading into Fall 2012, we have some exciting things…

1. Upcoming Conference Promotion
a.   The CD sampler 12 will be in the goodie bags of two upcoming fabulous music conferences, totaling 800 CDs promoted across these two major Los Angeles events below.
b.   The Females On Fire I, II, and III, plus the Art Of Men CD will be on display at the Songsalive! Booth at the IMC, below.
c.   Independent Music Conference (IMC) - Los Angeles CA – next week
d.   Billboard & Hollywood Reporter Film & TV Music Conference - Hollywood CA – week after

2. Media Distribution
We’ve been sending out all compilations to major and new media outlets globally and to favorable reception. Listen or request the CD to play on your local radio and feel free to email us on any media who request a copy.

3. Listen on our websites
The Songsalive! CD Sampler proudly displays on our website at www.songsalive.org/cdsamplers.htm with details of the artists and a player to hear the music.

4. Giving to the troops
Los Angeles Women In Music (www.LAWiM.com) a non-profit organization here in California, collects CDs throughout the year for our troops on behalf of Operation Gratitude (www.opgratitude.com). The CDs go in the Patriotic Drive and Holiday Drive care packages that are sent to individually named U.S. Service Members deployed in hostile regions, to their children left behind, and to Wounded Warriors recuperating in Transition Units. End 2011 Warrior Girl Music (www.warriorgirlmusic.com), Gilli Moon’s label, contributed 1300 Compilation CDs to LaWim's efforts, - CDs of the Females On Fire series (1,2 and 3) and Art of Men. We are proud to participate in this program, knowing that this gift of music will help put a smile on a soldier's face, lift their spirits, and let them know that the men and women who serve our country are not forgotten.
