Following a presentation by Sgt. Jason Grellner of the Franklin County Sheriff's Department Narcotics Enforcement Unit and Dr. Andrew Zupan, a pediatrician in Washington, Missouri, the Washington City Council voted 6-2 to pass an ordinance limiting the sale of ephedrine and pseudoephedrine-containing products in the City of Washington. The law is the first of its kind for Missouri municipalities.

During the Washington, Missouri City Council meeting Monday evening, Chief Hahn provided comments and suggestions to citizens regarding the traffic backups on Route 47. Traffic congestion has been the result of a lane closure on the Route 47 Missouri River Bridge in Washington.

As part of the bridge renovation project on the Route 47 Missouri River Bridge in Washington, Missouri, MODOT and its contractor, St. Louis Bridge Construction Company, have reduced traffic to a single lane crossing the bridge. Motorists now cross the bridge through one-way traffic controlled by operating signals. The result on Monday was traffic backed up significantly in both directions. The video below, taken at 4:00pm on Monday, shows northbound traffic backed up to South of 14th Street.

Strong storms moved the Washington, Missouri area Wednesday night. The photo of a peculiar shaped cloud formation below was taken on the eastern side of Washington around 7:45pm.
