Angela Burt-Murray, editor-in-chief of Essence magazine, talks about black women searching for love in other races in lieu or absence of black men who are incarcerated or not on the same level of education as them.

CNN Black in America Video About 24-Year-Old HIV Positive Marvelyn Brown…

One of the most fascinating segments of CNN’s Black in America was the story of Marvelyn Brown, a very brave and open 24-year-old who admitted she contracted the HIV virus at the age of 19.


Marvelyn said she felt special when her boyfriend didn’t want to wear a condom, because she knew that he knew that she wasn’t taking birth control. She thought the doctor was going to tell her she was pregnant — but then he told her she had HIV>


She has written a book called The Naked Truth: Young, Beautiful, and (HIV) Positive, which should be good and eye-opening.


I was amazed to learned that 1 out of every 20 black people in DC has HIV.

George Michael’s Good Morning America interview didn’t talk about his fear of taking an HIV test — at least not in the portion of George Michael’s GMA interview that I watched, posted below.


He did talk about his partner dying of AIDS, six months into the “throes of love” with a man who was his first serious relationship at 27.


And George Michael talked about his mom dying soon afterward too, and that British “hairless whisper” photo that sent him running to the mirror to check his balding spots in his hair. I can relate — praying for my thin hair parts to fill in supernaturally…I really believe…


Plus, George Michael talked about depression, the addiction to drugs, the “cruising” arrest, getting fat and more.

Wow, the below video of the WNBA fight involving Candace Parker comes less than one month after Candace Parker’s sweet one-handed dunk YouTube video went viral.


Yeah, stuff happens like that. Candace Parker says she doesn’t really know what the WNBA fight was about, and that she’d have to watch the video tape of it all.


Reminds me of that wide door of opportunity opening for WNBA players like Candace Parker (who looks like a young me) and with it, coming many adversaries.

Obviously Michael Savage has spent no time around autism…

…or children affected by autism to know its devastating affects and the anguish the parents go thru and hard work of getting therapy to help them improve in a society that can get their behavior all wrong like Michael Savage has.


Thankfully, protests are planned against Michael Savage by autism groups — and I hope he really learns to spend time with children with autism to learn more and gain some empathy…

In the below video of Danica Patrick’s fight with Milka Duno, Danica Patrick walks over to Milka Duno, saying she just want to talk to her.


But Duno looks like she wants to fight Danica — what with the slapping of Milka’s towel around in Danica’s face.


Danica keeps pretty calm and doesn’t really fall for Milka’s fight bait, and Duno paces and eventually gets blocked by her own crew, who block Patrick from Milka’s rantings, especially once Danica cussing and asks Milka did she see her for the umpteeth time.

Everybody wants the FDIC’s list of banks in trouble, but the FDIC doesn’t publish that list.


But they do publish a failed bank list, and I see they’ve updated it for 2008 to include IndyMac:

I wonder how soon the FDIC updates that failed bank list and if we check it often, maybe we’d get a head’s up on the coming bank failures?


We’ll see.

All I know is that when Lester Holt mentioned the list of 90 banks in trouble on Sunday’s evening news, then Brian Williams re-mentioned it last night, people have been all over trying to find out info about their banks and whether or not they would fail — forcing banks like National City and others to send out press releases trying to abate the rumors.

So while today we learn of the FDIC’s secret bank problem list, we cannot see the FDIC’s secret bank problem list for fear of people pulling their monies out of banks in droves.

Basically, like the woman said in the CNN video about the problem banks — this crisis is not as bad as the Savings & Loans scandal of the 80s, but tell that to the guy who lost around 60 grand at his account at IndyMac.

People really are searching and searching for the “banks at risk list” and “list of banks at risk” and “FDIC endangered banks list” and more variations, but seeing as though the FDIC does its best to keep this list secret to avoid a mad rush of money moving, here’s the best we can do:

1. Keep checking the FDIC’s failed bank list — maybe we’ll get a head’s up on bank failures the day they fail…


2. Monitor often the list of banks on this implode list assumed to be in trouble…


3. Check your bank’s stock value — as one commenter wrote, if your bank has lost more than 50% of its stock value in the past 12 months, chances are it may be endangered…

Trouble is, the FDIC doesn’t publish the FDIC watchlist — and it wouldn’t really help if they did, because people would pull all their money out the troubled banks, causing further trouble.


Besides, IndyMac wasn’t even on the list of the FDIC’s watchlist of troubled banks!


But they are now on the FDIC’s list of failed banks below.

I was watching NBC Nightly News report posted below from Sunday, July 13, 2008, wherein it mentioned that the FDIC had a list of 90 banks in trouble, even worse trouble of failing than Indymac.


So watching those people panic reading the bank failure notice taped to Indymac’s doors yesterday, I like lots of other people started the search today, asking Dear Google: “Banks in trouble? What banks are in trouble? 90 banks in trouble? List of banks in trouble, failing banks, banks in trouble list” to no avail.

“Let’s try a blog,” writes Scott Peterson on his blog’s first entry.


It’s incredulously to read that Scott Peterson has a blog — when I first saw “Scott Peterson blog” lighting up the Google searches, I thought it was Drew Peterson with the blog. Guess I momentarily confused one guy who killed his wife from the next. All right, I’ll write allegedly for Drew for journalism’s sake…but Scott was convicted.


What’s more incredulous are the comments of support on Scott Peterson’s blog. Maybe he’s scrubbed the ranting and raving and cussing ones clean?


I can’t talk, I know I’ve had my share infatuation with chasing a prisoner’s story — and whenever Scott Peterson is willing to tell the truth, maybe I’d be more sympathetic to him.

Even remembering the horrible way beautiful Laci and Conner Peterson died, I know there is forgiveness available for all, and that the truth will set him free…or maybe Scott Peterson’s blog will.

I think the below Jib Jab video with Obama and McCain is the best one yet. Even though McCain calls Barack Obama a “liberal wuss” and runs him over with a tank, the new Jib Jab ‘Time for Some Campaigning’ video doesn’t hold back on bruising John McCain’s swollen gland (toppling him over with a heart attack) and literally shows Hillary bruising Bill Clinton, who’s hiding out with a bikini-clad chick.


You can even put yourself in this new Jib Jab video, though I’ll keep myself out of getting poked by Uncle Sam the way they devise in the video.
