Dave Callaghan who is also known as southafican cricket's 'Lance Armstrong' who was successful in the fight against ' Testicular Cancer ' in 1991-92 and recovered completely from this deadly cancer disease to represent his country southafrica in odi's and also toured Australia,India & Newzeland during 1993-95 season. He made his odi debut for southafrica in 1992 against touring india and played his last odi against australia in 2009 in beetween he played 29 one day internationals with the highest score of 169* against kiwis in 1995 at centurion the best moment in his career was his comeback match after fully recovering from 'Testicular Cancer' where he got the huge standing ovation from the big crowd when he went to bat and he had tears all around his eyes as he could hardly see a thing his journey in cricket is now over as he is not offered the contract from his county Eastern Province for which he made his debut in 1984-85 althrough he will get the honour 20-20 match later this month.

Paul Adams the southafrican left arm chinaman bowler who is known for his unorthodox style of bowling action which is rare and unseen his action also known as 'Frog In A Blender' he started his test carrer as a 18 year old against England in 1995/96 at port elizabeth where he undone all of the english batsman with his action itself as he bowls without even looking at the batsman or the spot he is gonna land the ball but still had a good control over the line and length he kept on pilling up the wickets for couple of years as batsman were just unable to pick his action but his career kept on fading as there was no variation in his bowling and the element of surprise wore off and some long term injuries at the crutial time hasnt help the career of this unorthodox chinaman bowler either he last played a test against Newzealand in 2004 although he was recalled in the southafrican squad in 2006/07 season but didnt appear in the starting x1.

Mike Satisfied With Security For Champions Trophy

Mike Procter, the ICC match referee who is in Pakistan for the ongoing Asia Cup, has said that he is satisfied with the security situation in the country and that it should not be an impediment to hosting the Champions Trophy in September.
"I see no reason why Pakistan should not host the Champions Trophy. I find Pakistan a safe place and have been here twice this year," Procter told AFP in Lahore. "This is my personal opinion ... I was here in March [for the five-match series featuring Bangladesh] and I'm here now, and I found the security arrangements to be fantastic.
"The foreign umpires who have been with me during the Asia Cup also felt very safe and I would love to come to Pakistan for future events whenever I get appointments."
Proctor, who was in Pakistan in 2002 when a suicide bombing outside the New Zealand team's hotel led to the postponement of the tour, said: "It was a different situation then. It was a suicide bomb blast ... even at that time, the security was the best. We are more conscious about it now as the situation around the world since 9/11 has become volatile."
Meanwhile, there are reports that the ICC is considering South Africa as an option to host the event in case it doesn't take place in Pakistan. "South Africa could hold the Champions Trophy in case Pakistan or Sri Lanka [the alternate venue] can't," an ICC source told AFP. "But it must be stressed that Pakistan remains our first choice and a lot of work has already been done to ensure the tournament is held there." The source also said that Johannesburg, Centurion and Potchefstroom will be hosting the Champions Trophy matches in case the tournament is shifted to South Africa.
The ICC board will meet on Sunday in Dubai, where they will analyse a security report before making a decision on the matter.

After the win in first odi against Wesindies in St Vincent on tuesday Australia have regained their pride of top spot in the ICC ODI Rankings with a 1 point clear from Southafrica who have played very less one day international cricket this year so far but are they still dominant like they use to be in the early 2000's with the retirement of Shane Warne,Gleen Mcgrath,Damien Martyn,Darren Lehmann,Micheal Bevan,Justin Langer,Jason Gillespie,Stuart Macgill,Brad Hogg & Adam Gilchrist coming in very short period of time and John Buchanan The Mastermind behind their success also quiting from his job and the age of Mathew Hayden not on their side will australians bench streangth will be tested in near future as not long ago they lost their number 1 status in Odi's to Southafrica and now thier team is full of youngsters with only Micheal Clarke,Ricky Ponting,Micheal Hussey,Andrew Symonds & Breet Lee have some experience of playing during thier team was on the peak.

The question in everybodys minds is now can they recover and have the same dominance as they use to have do they have the replacements of the stars who have retired can these youngster fill the so called "Big Boots" of the lights of Warne Mcgrath and Gilchrist whats your say or will the teams like India the full of aggressive youngsters or Southafrica blended nicely with Youth and Experience take over the mighty Australians.

Fair Or Unfair "Switch Hitting"

The topic in everyones lips currently is "Switch Hitting" when Kevin Pietersen hit 2 sixes against Newzealand in 1st Odi successfully employing that shot now there have been many controversial issues surrounding the legality of the shot as how can it be fair when a captain has placed the field for a specific set of circumstances and then the batsman, without warning the fielding side, renders them obsolete by completely changing his stance? If an adjustment isn't made to the law then it would only seem fair to allow bowlers to weave up to the crease and at the last moment either deliver from over or round the wicket without telling the batsman.

The reverse-sweep has been part of the game for however long. Mike Gatting's futile attempt in the 1987 World Cup final springs readily to mind, but I recall the innovative Javed Miandad was the first to employ the shot with great success but now its the "Switch Hitting" time where I can't accept that a batsman is allowed to change the order of his hands and/or feet after the bowler commences his run-up, as this in effect makes him the opposite type of player to the one who took strike. By this method a right-hander becomes left (or vice versa) after the bowler commences his run-up and renders the field placings obsolete. This is taking an unfair advantage, while a batsman sticking with the first method is pitting his skill (evenly) against that of the bowler but now MCC has legalise this shot and you will see many batsman around the world switch to Switch Hitting is this fair for bowlers whats your say leave your comments

It has been an habbit for everyone to glue to the television everyday when the time comes across to watch much hyped Indian Premier League matches but have you thought life without IPL now as the tournament has reached its climax stage and will be over in a day's time is it gonna be easy for everybody to live without it as everyone has been watching with so much intrest suddenly it will be cut short so where does the cricket fan goes their is good news for football fans as Euro 2008 is starting from 7th june but will it live up to the expectation like indian premier league only time will tell.

No Advantage For Warne

Much waited climax of over one and a half month on going Indian Premier League ( IPL ) has reached its semifinal stage where Rajasthan Royals take on Delhi Daredevils and Chennai Superkings take on Kings X1 Punjab where we will see the legends like Shane Warne and Glenn Mcgrath take on each other and also some Indian U-19 world cup Teammates like Ravindra Jadeja against Pradeep Sangwan from the blossming talent of Manpreet Gony to redhead Sreesanth we are all set for the climax but some of the players are not happy like Shane Warne who say there is No Reward For Coming First as we wants the top 2 teams have home ground advantage in Semi-finals Mr.Warne might get his wish fulfilled in next edition if he makes it into semis but this time around he is very dissapointed my question is where was his idea when the fixtures were made wasn't he confident of finishing first or second.
