Find the video below of the Invisible Children on Oprah from Friday, May 1, 2009, show. The group of people that make up Invisible Children had spent days sleeping in parks and stuff to get on Oprah, raising awareness for the horrible atrocities inflicted upon children in Uganda who are forced to become child soldiers.


Here’s the Invisible Children’s website to learn more — and their spokesperson was such an amazing young man. People joined the Invisible Children movement from all over the world to bring awareness (and prayerfully change via Capitol Hill and new laws enacted to protect them) and thankfully Oprah gave them the forum:



Oprah mentioned that the children that the Invisible Children group is fighting for had previously been profiled by Lisa Ling on Oprah — it was that show where children were forced to walk for hours and hours and then were brought into some kind of big cage to coral them.


I tell my own children about these children when mine complain about walking two blocks.


Hopefully with Obama in office, these children can get the recognition and change they deserve. And somehow get rescued.


I was so impressed with the young people who care about this cause.

Update: The Oprah Columbine videos below were playing (search above on YouTube for them again) — but Oprah just Twittered that she pulled the Columbine show for today, April 20, 2009, because she thought it focused too much on the killers. Not sure when or if she’ll air it.

In this first Oprah video from the Columbine show, an FBI guy talks about Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold, saying Eric was the planner and Dylan provided energy and excitement — though he was depressed — for the Columbine tragedy. Dylan’s writings would draw large hearts when he found a young lady he thought was his soul mate, but didn’t get the courage to talk to her, so he’d plummet down in the dumps:



“Did you come to the conclusion that Eric was a psychopath?” Oprah asked the FBI profiler — so we’ve gotta find the video above by searching Oprah’s site to try and find the answer to that if we don’t catch it on TV.


And Oprah will talk about how a parent complained (about Eric and Dylan?) a full year before the horrible shootings at Columbine.


In this video, Oprah talks to the principal of Columbine, and he says that this year’s graduating class was in 2nd-grade in 1999, when the Columbine tragedy happened:

One 13-year-old girl was lured away by a bad man and held captive. I’m glad she survived to tell the tale. I don’t think the other girl pictured in the below Oprah video was able to survive because they only show her mother. My sincere sympathies to that grieving mom.


I pray Oprah’s show gives the heads-up to parents who think they know what their kids are doing online.

I’ve even seen cellphone spy tools and GPS Trackers like the one pictured here and much more out there to make sure your kids are planning to meet someone somewhere.


Hopefully, you have the type of relationship where your child feels open enough to tell you these things, but for peace of mind — a little spying may not hurt.


I hated when my mother spied on me. And I didn’t like her harsh reaction to some things, but back then we didn’t have MySpace and Facebook and Internet predators out there.

So while Dr. Laura Berman is good with talking to middle school girls about sexting and stuff, the moral side of things are surely lacking.


And I’ve already had the “self-pleasuring” talk with my daughter — not to do it! Jesus broke me of doing it, and surely showed me that it was wrong — like worshipping some fake temple prostitute god or something.


Not only has masturbation been attributed to infertility, there are inferences in the Bible that it’s not the “healthy” activity that Berman suggests. It’s not a zero-sum game: You don’t either give it up to a boy or go please yourself.


I like the woman who stood up and at least asked: What about self-control?


It is a fruit of the Spirit. And it is possible. As frustrating as it can be at times, it just not worth feeling icky afterward. And if masturbation is such a “healthy” thing, why were people so hesitate to admit that they did it. Even the young girl who stood up and said she was shocked at Dr. Berman’s suggestions and said “You sound like you do it every day” — Dr. Berman just chuckled and didn’t answer her. Where does Oprah get these people? Can she get a Christian on there, please?

I’ve been searching up and down for the video of Steve Harvey on Oprah, and am surprised it’s not up yet — the link I found on Oprah’s site that says “Steve Harvey” actually leads to an audio of Laura Berman talking about “it’s better in bed” for the ladies.


Anyway, Steve Harvey was so funny and grateful for being on Oprah, and seemed overjoyed that Oprah invited him back. Steve’s wife is beautiful, too.


And though we know Steve Harvey’s advice to women to wait “90 days” for sex with a man doesn’t line up with God’s advice to wait till marriage for sex, I guess waiting 90 days is better than giving it up on the first date, as many of us have done and repented for and been forgiven for — and thank God we know better now! (I hope…)
