As mentioned earlier this week, a sensitive environmental resource was discovered during the restoration of North Fair Oaks playground. Work at this location is on hold. Until this is resolved with the binding state and regional agencies, we cannot proceed. Work is still ongoing in the North Fair Oaks area with repair of the sanitary sewer lines in the street. Final pavement will follow after crews complete Bay Road restoration. Fencing is nearly complete in Redwood City and crews will continue working through to the North Fair Oaks and Menlo Park area.

So what is the next step? Should we wait another year?

Again, you need to provide a schedule. It's unbelievable that you are not providing us with firm schedule so we can see where we are standing. It's has been more then year and half since you start this project and there is no progress. Roads in Fair Oaks still not complete for example: 9th Ave, right after Edision street, no pavement, Park still closed, fences still not complete, etc.
I think it's time for Fair Oaks community to collect signatures and address this to the higher level!!!
Or even it's time to take you to the court?

The good news is the slide that we were waiting for has arrived. We still have to replace a pole for the swing set and that is in the works. The Contractor is coordinating with the County playground inspector to have them available for final walk through as soon as the equipment is installed and ready to go. The Project would like to turn the playground over as soon as we can and are working toward that end. Thanks for your query.

We had all hoped to complete more restoration alongside of the major construction. Unfortunately, pipe installation and other critical path work required the Project’s full attention and resources. With the community’s patience, the 9-mile pipeline is nearly complete and the hydrostatic test on the final major segment is about to begin.

Our priority over the next several months will be restoration work including repaving impacted roads, building permitted fences, and repaving driveways affected by construction. The North Fair Oaks Community Playground is the first restoration priority and we have been delayed awaiting the arrival of a newly fabricated slide. Once the slide arrives and final work is completed, a Playground Inspector will evaluate the park in the hopes that we can return it to the community in the next month. We apologize for the extended inconvenience that construction has caused. We will work over the next several months to complete restoration and return the Right of Way to the community.

When will our roads and parks in north fair oaks be repaired? Just before thanksgiving, road construction crews removed the black top as if they were preparing to repair the roads. Instead, they left them un repaired and now with the rainy season our street and others throughout North Fair Oaks are mud and potholed. This construction project is a joke!. The fences were supposed to be built a year ago and still no repair. The childrens park at the corner of Edison and Fair Oaks still remains closed as our children grow older. Thanks to the "construction", the dog park at the same corner has gone into such disrepair, the lawn is dead because the crews cut the water line, weeds have choked the park rendering it a nasty little corner of Menlo Park. Please let us know what you intend to do with our neighborhood. Our next step is to start escalating with local activism and requesting our leaders intervene. Your call!

What is general schedule for this project? You need to provide us (Fair Oaks community) with deadlines for each milestone for this projects. We, I am sure I can speak on behalf of Fair Oaks Community, need to see a real schedule. Publish schedule on this blog.
It's hard to believe that one year and half is not enough to finish this. For about months I don't see any progress and I don't see any crew working on it. Playground is community property and our families need it for our children to play it.

We apologize for the inconvenience of the playground closure. For public safety, the playground cannot be opened until restoration is complete and it has been inspected and approved.

The project is working closely with the Fair Oaks Beautification Association regarding park features that need to be addressed prior to re-opening. Currently, we are waiting for the delivery of the slide which is expected to arrive later this month. In the coming weeks, neighbors should see workers finalizing restoration of the playground.

The playground is being scheduled for inspection and we hope to have the playground open by mid-May
