Here comes Summer!

As we enter the summer season, the majority of our students have returned home so we are reduced in number - but not in zeal! We continue our series on the Gifts of the Holy Spirit and look forward to seeing God move in even greater power among us.

We're still serving God on this great adventure together - come and join us!

The South West "Together" weekend, held on a wet and windy Taunton racecourse over the May Bank Holiday, was great!! Quack Quack!

Terry's teaching was greatly appreciated, the worship was fab and God showed up!

Week of Prayer

Sunday January 6th sees the start of a week of prayer and fasting. There are a whole range of different opportunities to get together and pray - see the bulletin for details of times and venues. Culminates on Sunday 13th with a Fellowship Lunch after the morning meeting.

1) Sunday 16th Dec will be a Family Christmas Celebration at 10am followed by a Fellowship Lunch and Party Games!

2) Sunday 23rd Dec Carols by Candlelight at 5pm (Note - there will be no morning celebration!)

Hello folks - It's that time of year again when we want to say a big warm Waterfront welcome to all our students, both old and new who are here in Plymouth. We will do this by sharing a fellowship lunch after church on Sunday 23rd September. Bring and Share style (that means you bring the amount you would normally eat and drink for your lunch and put it all together with everyone elses and we all share!) makes it great fun! See you there ....

New Alpha Course

ALPHA is an opportunity for anyone to explore the Christian faith

in a relaxed, friendly and low-key setting.

Our next ALPHA course starts on the 4th of October

The course will run every Thursday until the 6th of December

Journeys DVD and Discussion

Journeys is a DVD series that prompts discussion about what Christianity is really about. These sessions will run on a Wednesday evening at 94 Ladysmith Road

Student Lunch!

Hurrah! The student lunches are back!

We hope that you students were well fed over the Christmas Holidays

and that you took advantage of Dawn Doidge's recent "Great Nosh for Less Dosh" evening

to learn more about cooking great food on a budget.

If you missed this evening, don't lose hope... there might be more!

On Sunday February 11th

we're having another Waterfront Church Student Lunch

Jon Mason will be speaking during the lunch about why we have Cell Groups at Waterfront and why it's a great idea to join a cell. If you haven't joined a cell, because you are unsure of what it's all about and don't know who to talk to about it, then get yourself along to the lunch!

If you: turn up

then we: promise to feed you yummy food and delicious desserts

and give you some good solid teaching

on things that relate to you and

are important for your spiritual growth.

all this can be yours for the low donation of one small pound coin!

IMPACT sunday

we're having an IMPACTsunday

At Waterfront Church our desire is to reach out to our local community

and share the truth of the Gospel message. We want to see this area

changed by the love of God and people's lives transformed by Jesus' saving grace.

We've invited Paul Hanley from Redhill and Reigate Community Church

Week of Prayer and Fasting

This coming week has been set aside as a week of prayer and fasting. We as Waterfront Church feel that the best start we can give the new year is to start off by putting God at the forefront. We want to commit this next year to Him and to act in line with His will. To do this we are spending time seeking His face, listening to His heart for our church and being inspired by His word. Over the next week, each evening there will be specific prayer meetings in order to give us as a church the opportunity to meet together and hear God.

Sunday 7th: 7pm at Greenbank (Open Doors):

We will be meeting together as a church in our usual Powerhouse time. Everyone is welcome.

Monday 8th: Girls Prayer -7.30 pm at 30 Chudleigh Road:

Open to all the Girls... let's come together to hear God speak His vision to our hearts.

Tuesday 9th: Guys Prayer - 7.30 pm at 94 Ladysmith Road:

Open to all the Guys...let's expect God to move in a mighty way!

Wednesday 10th: Cell Groups Together - 7.30 pm at Greenbank (Open Doors)

Everyone is welcome...let's be ready to speak out what God is saying to us.

Thursday 11th: Cell Leaders Prayer - 7.30 pm at Greenbank (Open Doors)

Open to cell leaders and assistants... let's seek prophesies and vision for the coming year.

Friday 12th: 7.30 pm at 245 Stuart Road, Stoke

Open to Everyone... let's be ready for God to pour out His Spirit on us!

Please try to get along to as many of the evenings as you can. God blessed us richly during this time last year, and we are expecting even greater things this year!

We will be finishing the week with a shared Fellowship Lunch

Fellowship Lunch

We will be wrapping up our week of prayer and fasting with a shared fellowship lunch on

Sunday January 14th

This lunch is open to everyone, please bring along a dish to share:

It can be anything: main dishes, salads, sandwiches, puddings etc.

If your dish will need heating up please let Carol Peel or Laura Sampson know before the service starts.

Also, as we grow bigger and bigger we find we need more and more spoons! If you are bringing a dish that will require a serving spoon, please would you bring one along with your surname taped on the handle -- this will help us return them to you after the lunch!
