Great Service At Watersweb Shops!

Virginia purchased a web hosting account and the Shop Kit Plus. She then took one of our built-in templates and added her own header.

I joined Watersweb Solutions several months ago after failing to get support from my previous website server. The customer service has been terrific and the Shop Kit Plus website (with shopping cart) has been easy to work with and when I have run into questions, the help desk has been very responsive! Perfect for those out there who want to start selling their products from home! Very affordable. Thanks Michelle!

Authorize.net Down Overnight; Payment Processing Back Online Now

If your sales were slower than normal last night, an outage at your payment processor's datacenter may be the cause. According to TechCrunch, a fire broke out in Authorize.net's seattle datacenter last night shortly before midnight.

Updates at TechCrunch state that payment processing is back up and running, except for global processing.

Robyn is a new client who purchased a hosting account and the Shop Kit Plus from us. She worked with her own designer to create a unique style for her site.

I was first attracted to Watersweb Solutions when trying to find a reasonably priced hosting and e-mail service in 2004. I was impressed with the different packages offered within my price range, and the individual attention I received while getting started. While the templates were meant to be used for selling physical products, Michelle (owner) worked with me to find a way to sell my electronic books and let customers download them from my website. I have since created a website for a friend's business, as well as an information-only website for my daughter's 4-H club, all using Watersweb products. I would definitely recommend Watersweb for the product offerings, price, and friendly prompt customer service.

Need A Domain Name, Merchant Account Or SSL Certificate?

We've been doing some housekeeping at Watersweb this week, which has included moving a few things around in the navigation.

The main change we have made is to move the domain registration and merchant account links to the Addons tab in the header navigation. This cleans up the look up top quite a bit.

In case you were wondering though, you can still register a domain name during the hosting account order process without having to purchase it separately. And if you need to renew your domain name, just login to your account in the Billing Center. The link is still up top.

We have also added a new service to our lineup -- SSL Certificates.

If you're using a self-hosted cart like Digishop, Magento or CubeCart, you'll need your own SSL Certificate to protect your site and your customer's data.

Amy is one of my first Shop Kit Plus clients. We designed her site, setup the shopping cart and have hosted it since 2005.

When I first started my business, I used one of those huge companies for hosting. There was never anyone to contact to solve issues, and my website was constantly down. The final straw was when I cancelled my credit card, forgetting that was my card for automatic bill pay - they took my site down on a Friday and never even called to try to get another means of payment or to notify me! That was it for me . I switched to Waterweb the next week, and I have been with them ever since... the better part of a decade! They are reliable, easy to work with, priced great with great communication. Problems are rare, but when there is one it is solved quickly and courteously.

Steven needed a vBulletin forum installed and a custom theme for the site. We set him up with both on one of our lightly loaded shared servers.

Not only does Watersweb do a wonderful job of hosting my site, but they also helped me with the design. The hosting is extremely reliable, the uptime approaches 100%. Unlike the huge megacompanies which treat you like a non-entity, this is one company that is small enough to value its customers, but large enough to get the job done! Kudo's to a great company

Where Do I Go For Watersweb Support?

As you may have noticed, we've made quite a few changes here at Watersweb this year. I'm excited about all of them -- especially the changes in our support system.

First, we installed a new Billing Center. It's an amazing system and includes awesome features like Paypal subscriptions and a much easier to use interface.

The new Billing Center also includes a built in support ticket system. So, we've decided to use it for billing and sales related issues.

We chose to move sales/billing support to the Billing Center because:

New clients are already logged into the Billing Center and can easily submit a ticket within minutes of setting up their accounts.
We can ensure the security and privacy of our communications with you regarding your payment details and billing account management.
You can easily view your billing and sales related tickets directly in the Billing Center.

Why didn't we move all the tickets over?

We chose to keep the technical support helpdesk where it is, because it contains a history of all of your tickets. You can login to the helpdesk and review tickets as far back as 2006. So, if you remember that you asked a question two years ago, you can login to the helpdesk, review your tickets and see the answer we gave you back then.

This also helps us understand your website's history.

How do you know where to submit a ticket?

If you can answer yes to any of these questions, then your question should be asked in the Billing Center:

Will you need to purchase a new product or service?
Are you wanting to change the billing details of your account?
Is your question related to a domain name that you need to have registered or transferred?
Is your domain name registered at Watersweb and you need to have the domain's details edited (ex. nameservers, contact information, EPP key mailed)?

If you can answer yes to any of these questions, then you need to submit a ticket to the Watersweb Helpdesk:

Are you reporting an issue with your website that needs to be handled immediately (ex. site cannot be accessed from the web)?
Are you experiencing a problem with your website (ex. I can't get the SKP to perform as it should)?
Are you needing help with a technical issue related to your website (ex. changing MX records or installing a backup)
Are you having trouble with your email?
Are you needing assistance with using the features in your cpanel?

These are just some examples of the types of situations you might find yourself in and where you need to go for the fastest and most accurate assistance possible. If you're situation does not fit into any of the categories above, go ahead and submit your question to the helpdesk and they will forward it to the appropriate department.

If you are having trouble with your site inventory counts or order tracking, read this thread and follow the instructions in your Mals account remote HTTP setup.

I recommend you go ahead and follow the instructions in the thread even if you are not currently experiencing problems.

Make This Change To Mals IMMEDIATELY!

We are currently undergoing PCI compliance scanning and have had to make a couple of changes to our server settings.

As a result, your inventory counts and order tracking in SKP may not be working.

If this is the case:

Login to your Mals account and change the Remote HTTP setting from:

63.247.132.129/~username/go/finish.php

to:

www.yourdomain.com/go/finish.php

Make sure you change the red text to your own domain name.
