I bought this amazing piece yesterday from my friend (and sometime teacher Tammy Hennessy). I love it so much and can't wait to hang it!! (Her pieces would still be a bargain at twice the price, so please check her out if you are looking for a piece of art and you can tell her I sent you!!)

I worked on several different paintings today and kind of felt cranky about them, so I sat down and painted some serenity into my life. This Buddha isn't finished yet but I needed it!

Usually when we say we can't do something, what we mean is that we won't do something unless we can guarantee that we'll do it perfectly. But no! The bad shit is NECESSARY! Anything worth doing is worth doing BADLY! And once we accept that things can be worth doing badly, our options widen. "If I didn't have to do it perfectly, I might try..."

Spent a good 15-20 minutes trying to convince Luke that he should read The Dark Tower series today. I did not succeed in that quest but along the way I met my old friend nostalgia, got super excited about the story again, and so here I sit, cracking open Book 1 for my 4th trip into that world. I can't wait.

Last weekend I went on a Vision Quest with artist, teacher, mentor Whitney Freya at my local home away from home art studio Art More Place.. the entire thing was just so magical and amazing that I have been trying for a full week to come up with some words to describe it.. any words.. I just can't do it. I finally just decided that none would be right. To meet Whitney is to fall in love with

Day 29 of my 30 day painting challenge- painting on the same canvas every day for 30 days- and an elephant appeared for me!! 🐘I had an elephant right around day 7 or so and it was so hard to let her go, but I trusted the process and let her go.. and good thing I did because it made room for this one to show up!!

Day 40 (I think?) of morning pages.. Journaling 3 pages every morning, every day, for the duration of The Artist's Way workshop. Today is the day we get together, though, and it is always, always awesome.

I am following The Artist's Way as a weekly group meeting at my favorite art studio. Some weeks are harder than others.. This is Week 5 - this week's chapter of The Artist's Way is promising to be difficult for me. Or perfect for me. One or the other. Or both.

What do you do when you are signed up for a race but you haven't done any training at all for it? You have fun with it! What do you do when shit starts hurting? You go slower and have fun harder. It helps to have these 2 awesome guys by your side though, I'll tell ya!!(Ran the Melbourne Music 1/2 Marathon last Sunday side by side with my husband and my brother.)

Reviving this theme.. Love doing it and seeing it and letting the pictures speak for themselves. Took this at sunrise during my morning run.

I did a bright yellow and red graffiti painting the other day, and today decided to turn it into a peacock. I am part of a 30 day challenge- every day we paint a new painting. Totally in love with how fun this one is!!

Looking at my blog, I realize how much I've missed it. I quit smoking in June of '13 and it looks like I couldn't keep up with blogging during that crazy mental time, and then before I knew it, I'd accidentally fallen out of the habit of blogging. It's been almost 3 years. THREE YEARS!  Asking myself if I should start blogging again, but you know, if I have to ask, I think it means I already

For the past few weeks, I've had a call out for donations from amazing artists and friends so I can have an online charity sale and auction to benefit Jimmy in his cancer fight. The submissions have been, well, amazing. Starting yesterday, I have been adding these items to a large folder on my Facebook page with lots more to come.  Please make sure you stop by and check out all of these

Sorry for not updating last night but Dave and I got home so late! Jimmy was so happy to see us. He was in good spirits and joking around with us. The nurses got him up and walking around twice yesterday (which is amazing) and he is making lots and lots of progress. Talked to Robin this morning and she says they are talking about sending him home tomorrow or Wednesday! So keep up those

Every Tuesday they convene to discuss a few different patients and how to best treat each individual. After the meeting all, 6-7 medical professionals walk through and talk to each patient!!! WOW! Hey everybody, my best friend's husband Jimmy (our brother-in-law, by the way) has just been diagnosed with stage 3 oral squamous cell cancer. He is their breadwinner and sadly, they are uninsured. We all know that positive thinking is one of the best things you can do to fight cancer, so I'm trying to help them raise some funds so they will worry less and he can focus on fighting it. I

Being a seller on Etsy, I sometimes find my items in treasuries that other sellers make. These are always such beautiful collections that I want to take a screenshot, or screen capture, and share these with other people. In talking to a few of my friends the other day, I realized that some of them did not know how to do this. It's super easy. Watch!Make sure you have the webpage that you want to
