Watkins is having their annual conference, which I should probably be at, but due to knee surgery and the lack of leave in general, I'm sitting at home with my knee up in the air typing on the net.

That said, this should be a great weekend for those that are able to go! Today they announce the Holiday Package and those that are there get to buy it first, at a slightly reduced cost! This is normally a great package, and includes some new items and seasonal items!

Our FREE Plush Memories Lost Toy Search Service wants to help with the search for toys lost during the monster tornado outbreak in the South on April 27, 2011!!

We are lifelong Alabamians, and our hearts ache for all those in our state who were not as fortunate as we were. We praise God for his Mercy toward us. There are over 250 confirmed deaths in Alabama, and sadly more will be found in the rubble.

Alabamians are helping each other during this time of great need, as whole cities and towns have been demolished. Collection points are all over the place for people to bring bottled water, food, charcoal and grills, toiletries, diapers, formula, and other basic necessities.

There are too many organizations collecting relief donations to name them all, but since we're Baptist, here's the link to donate through the Baptist State Mission Board. The Salvation Army and many other charitable organizations are also busy helping with relief efforts across the South.

The time to help with clothing, furniture, and toys has not come yet, but it will soon, when life-saving needs are met. When that time comes, these surviving families are going to want to replace the special lovies that will help their little ones feel secure again.

Why do you want to work for yourself first and foremost? Well, in today's economy many companies are starting to lay people off. If you work for yourself, the only person laying you off is you. You control how much work you do and when you are doing it, not someone else. YOU make the money, not your boss and their boss.

Yes, if you are in a retail business such as Watkins, you are helping the Watkins Corporation make money as well, but you make a 25% commission on all you sale, a 25% discount on all you buy for personal use (and some of that can be written off on taxes in the States if you do it right!), and you make a commission of 1-15% on your down line Associates, which could increase your 25% commission by up to 5% more as well!

When working for yourself, you set how much money you want to make by your actions and how you run your business. The only person to blame for not making money is yourself. The only person to give credit to for making money is yourself.

I am a firm believer in having multiple streams of income. And one of those streams should be a business in which you own and run. This can be anything such as computer repair services, software install services (both of which I do as one of my streams of income), physical training (which I do in teaching martial arts to those that are wanting to learn such things), a sales business (which I do with Watkins products).

Watkins brings in the most money for me, and is something I am confident you can bring money into your house as well.

For those that are familiar with Sam's Club, Watkins can be looked at as such a group. You pay roughly $40.00 per year for "Membership", and then you buy products at a 25% discount. You can sell products to others at a 25% commission. As you share the concept with others and they join "under you", you get from 1 to 15% commission on what they buy or sale. As you sell and consume more and more product, you make more and more commission.

You set your hours and you set how much you make by how much you share the business. Just like any other business out there.

It can be VERY profitable!!

I am often asked how much one can make as a Watkins Associate, and that is a VERY hard question to answer, as it TOTALLY depends on the person, their motivation, and desire to make money. It also depends on if they are ready to actually USE the products themselves.

In two short years, I was making over $1000/month, after all expenses and taxes, each month. Some of my downline, being in almost as long, were making nothing. How much time did I spend in making this money? Less than 20 hours a week. So, 80 hours, $1000 cleared, equals $12.50/hour. At one point I was spending about 15 hours a week, and was clearing a bit over $1500/month.

All of this without stockpiling product, and without doing pressure sales. I built my income by finding people that were interested in the products, and who wanted to buy at the 25% discount. As they bought products, I would add people under them, so they would make money as well, and to keep them interested in the system. A few even took it to the next level and began selling and/or getting Associates under them as well. (Those are the ones you really want to work closely with, as you can BOTH make good money if you work with them...)

But like I said, it depends on the person, and what they are willing to do to make it work. This is a business, and like any business, it takes time, effort, and money. If you do it right, it can be done initially on $75/month in purchasing of product for personal use (EASY to do, and well worth it!) (or roughly $100 in sales), and builds up to $150/month in personal use or sales (or combination of those to) to make money. That is ALL you would have to spend on this business to make money.

You can add marketing (in the form of paid advertising, and paying for marketing materials) to that IF you want, or you can do your marketing on line through venues such as a blog or web site.

If you were to join under me, you get a FREE to use web site like this that does some of the lead work for you. You just put it in your sig line, etc, and you are off and running.

And, if you join under me, and are using or selling products (even if you aren't I'll help you, but you won't make money if you aren't selling or using the products for yourself, so I'm not sure why you would want my help?) Start your own home business, and grow it, and you will get some tax advantages in your favor that will help you keep more of your money. A GREAT home business is the Watkins business, as it allows you to run it your way, and at your pace. If you do it right, and I can help you do it right, you can write off many expenses of running the business, and you can increase your income. And you can do it while you continue to work for someone else, until you are ready to be full time, at a part time schedule. (By that I mean, build your team of customers and associates, use the products, and focus on growing your team, and you can set your own hours in three to five years, spending only as much time working as you want.)

It is not a get rich process. It takes work, money, to buy and use the products, and to buy products for others, who will pay for them when you give them the product, but you do not have to buy and hold product to sell, it can be direct shipped, or shipped to you so you can personally develop a relationship with your client.

A great business, for a low start up cost of roughly $40.00 US, and you should be using about $75.00 (wholesale) in products each month to be able to earn off of your down line. Or sell roughly $100 (retail price)to your clients. And the best way is a bit of both, using the products, which I feel is a must, sell some products as people ask for them, and spend time in building relationships with future and current Associates mimicking your actions, earning income on their sales and usage.

A great program that works well, if you let it!

Spice Up Your Life!

I challenge any spice company out there with the Watkins spices! I have taken competitor "standard" fresh pepper and put it in a zip lock bag, and the same amount of fresh Watkins pepper and placed it in another zip lock bag and left them on the shelf for a year. At the end of the year, the competitor pepper barely tasted like pepper and had no "kick". The Watkins product tasted as fresh as the day I put it in the bag.

I have also found that, due to the way Watkins prepares their spices, that it often takes less of the product to achieve the taste you desire, saving you money as you go!

A story to that effect: I had a lady friend who I traveled with on work related projects. We often went to nice restaurants (I was President/COO and she was the VP of Human Resources) that served homemade Ceaser Salads, which we both enjoyed very much (and I still do, don't know if she does, haven't talked to her in years...). I would have the Waiter/Waitress wear their arms out grinding cheese on my salad, and she would have them wear their arms out grinding pepper on hers. One day I gave her a pepper grinder filled with Watkins Pepper (standard version, no flavored added) and she ground her usual amount out. She had over done it! It was too peppery for her.

I stand by, as does Watkins, all of the Watkins products! Don't forget our Trail return mark on many products!

Becoming Financially Sound.

Over the past 30 years I have been involved in many ventures, starting with the Army, working my way up to a Venture Capitalist, to living the life of a Religious Friar, returning to the business world. I have a strong background in computers, and in business management. I have run several business as President/COO, or set on some major companies as a Board of Director member.

One thing I have found that makes a person most successful financially is to create their own company and make it grow.

Watkins provides you with a way to do just that. As an Independent Watkins Associate, you are able to build a business as big as you want. Look at my Watkins Up Line Executive, who has a team of over 2000 people under him (I think it is closer to 4000 but don't remember for sure).

How do you do this? First, it is not a get rich quick process. It will take work and effort, like any business.

1. You use the products in your day to day life, buying them at a 25% discount.
2. Share the concept with others, and share the great products with others.

It takes time to build your team, and it takes time to market and grow your business, but in three to five years, you will find yourself beginning to make decent money, and after that if you keep with it, your residual income will continue.

Add to that the potential if you pick up clients buying products, you make even more money as you go along.

Residual Income...

Your first priority in obtaining financial security (after education in finances) is to create residual income. Residual income is that income that comes in while you do basically do nothing.

Watkins is a great way to do this in time. After you get your team of both clients and Associates built to a certain point, you begin to receive residual income for just buying product for personal use and for your clients (ideally you buy for your clients twice a month on a schedule, or get them to buy from the web site), and your team does the same. As long as you are using or selling roughly (US Dollars) $75-150/month you will receive residual income off of your down line.

As your build your down line and help them build their down line, everyone begins to receive more in the way of residual income. With little effort on your behalf.

Yes, initially, there is work involved, and you should always spend some effort and time in continuing to grow your business, as the bigger it gets the more you make, but there is a point where you can sit back and let the business ride by buying for yourself, what you like and use, and helping your team and clients do the same!

You will find that you need to use less spices than with other brands due to the way that Watkins processes their spices versus the way other companies do, keeping more of the oils of those spices in the spices. Home Based Busienss.

There is a lot of bad press out there about home based businesses, and in many cases those bad press comments are often warranted.

Home based business, which are actually quickly becoming a good way to earn a living, when it is hard to find a "conventional job", are just that a job. They require work, time, some money, and lots of effort! There are many people out there toting their companies as an "easy way to make thousands of dollars a month". Some may be telling the truth, but many, in fact most aren't.

In working with Watkins, you can make thousands of dollars a month, but it will take you from three to ten years to get there, depending on how much time you are willing to spend, your effort in making it work, and how much you are willing to change your lifestyle. And by that, I mean buy products from yourself instead of a store front.

Watkins, like any legitimate start up business will take some cash up front to get going. Initial fees are roughly $40.00US to become an associate. You should spend at least $75.00US a month on products that you SHOULD be using at home, else don't buy them. OR you should be selling at least $125.00US to outsiders in order to start making real money as you move forward. When you buy $75.00 worth of products for yourself, you are saving 25%. When you sell $125.00 to customers, you get to keep 25% of that up front. (If they order via the web, you get your 25% on the 5th of the following month in your bank account.)

As I have said before, there are three tracks you can take in building your business.

The first and hardest way to build this business is by building a customer base and selling products to as many people as you can, and get them to be repeat customers. This is doable, and has been done by Watkins Associates for 143 years now. You get a 25% commission on the first $1500 you sell each month, then a graduated increase of up to another 15% as your volume goes up.

The second and easier way to raise your income is to first and foremost be a user of the products. Start out by spending $75.00/month on a $100.00 gift certificate. Do so for three months. On the fourth month spend those gift certificates on a "Watkinize your home" package, which will cost you about another $40 plus shipping and handling. The following month purchase a $100(US) gift certificate for $75.00. The next month use that to purchase supplies you use at home that you are low on or need to "exchange", such as spices, etc. You will need to buy $100-101 worth of product, as you must use the whole gift certificate up each time. You will also need to purchase a new $100.00 gift certificate. Why do you do it this way? Well, to make profit off of your down line, you need, initially, 100 points, which the gift certificate gives you one for each dollar. If you buy product directly it isn't an always exact one for one exchange. (Later you will need 200 points, which is the max you will ever need, and you can easily shop for yourself each month spending $150.00 you would normally spend at the grocery store in a month on Watkins products, replacing store products.) The next step in this process is to show others how to do the same thing. Buy products from themselves, with an initial setup cost of roughly $40.00, plus $75 for a gift certificate. And then have them follow the same process of sharing with others. How do you share it with others? Via the web, in person, via business cards, pretty much the same ways you would expand your business if you had a store front, minus having the store front!

The best way to do it is a slight mix of both. Focus on using the products and sharing the concept with others. But don't turn down direct sales as well. If they come along, take the order and create a customer list. Spend most of your time on building your team, and a small bit of time on building a customer list that you sell to routinely.

This is a business, so it means work, but YOU set the hours you work, and YOU set how much you want to put into it and how much you want to make from it. Like any business the more you work it the more you make. In just using the products and building a team of people that use the products you can clear (after expenses) over $1000/month in about three years spending about 20 hours a week working the business building. Faster if you spend more time, and add customers. Slower if you spend less time on it or don't add customers.

It is doable and there are thousands of people doing it already! Grow you team locally and long distance. I have Associates all over the US and Canada (only two areas this business is currently available). If you follow the second way of using the products and sharing the process with others, you will find that you grow faster, and earn more. As long as you are initially acquiring 100 points a month, until your total team is generating roughly $1500/month in volume, then you need to get 200 points per month, you make from 3 to 15% bonus on your down line's volume. As your team grows, your income grows, and as their team grows their income grows.

Working with ALL of your down line team helps build the team stronger as well.. Once you hit $2000 in team volume (and at least 200 of that is yours) you can start making even better returns (more than 3% extra) and you can begin spending more time working Watkins and less time on your other income sources.
