The Special Offer, designed exclusively for SMEs with up to 250 staff, applies to all in-house training in Greater London and the North West, and is at a special daily rate of £575 + VAT for groups of up to eight delegates. This significantly discounted rate, available until the beginning of April 2012, offers exceptional value and is an all-inclusive figure with no additional expenses applicable.
Clients at locations outside these regions will also be entitled to benefit from this special offer and may also be charged reasonable additional expenses at cost.
This offer applies to the entire suite of Watt Works courses which are available in-house, with the sole exception of our Systems Thinking courses. They are also happy to design bespoke in-house courses to match the specific needs of their client organisations.
Details of the wide range of personal and professional development courses they offer can be located at their website www.watt-works.com and a digital-magazine can be viewed or downloaded for future exploration on our Home page.
Watt Works Consulting’s Director of Training, Damian Hamill, commented: “During periods of recession or economic uncertainty, companies sometimes feel they have to economise on the provision of training and development opportunities for their staff. Often this is done reluctantly as keeping your staff skilled, motivated and at their best is particularly important during competitive times. At Watt Works we have responded to circumstances to make it easier for our clients to develop their people whilst still being mindful of budgetary constraints. Our Recession-busting Special Offer ensures that you get the same quality training as ever but at an even more attractive price. We look forward to working with you to help you sustain and grow during challenging times.”

Watt Works Consulting Ltd, a dynamic consulting, training and coaching company that helps individuals and organisations achieve sustainable performance improvement, is pleased to announce that it has added an exciting new course to its suite of personal and professional development trainings, entitled ‘Influence and Persuasion Skills’.

This course is designed to provide concepts, processes and skills to those who wish to become more adept at getting their voices heard and their ideas considered and accepted within the workplace. It is clear that some people in the workplace have a greater capacity to convey their thoughts in a compelling manner, generate agreement and engagement, and de-potentiate opposition or conflict. This stimulating and interactive course will impart many of the skills, tools and attitudes of these effective influencers.
A key feature of the course is the recognition that influence and persuasion is most effectively carried out in an ethical and ecological manner that respects the interests and world-views of those we interact with and works towards obtaining mutually beneficial outcomes, a stark contrast to manipulative approaches.
The course content draws on a number of different approaches and concepts. A major part of the content is based upon the methods and approaches of Neuro-linguistic Programming (NLP), which offers valuable and empowering approaches for effective communication and relationship-building.
Delegates who integrate and utilise the course content can expect to develop more cooperative working relationships, have a greater awareness of their ability to effectively communicate and influence a broad range of others and notice a reduction in conflict and disagreement.
These new courses, which will be delivered as 2-day training, will be run in the company’s key locations of London, Cheshire and Belfast and will be led by the Watt Works’ Director of Training, Damian Hamill. He commented:
“Many people have noticed that there are those who seem to be able to exert influence and act with great persuasion whilst still maintaining goodwill and healthy relationships with others. Sometimes they do so with such effortless grace that it is difficult to understand how they achieve what they do. On this experiential, interactive course we will be looking at many of the subtle patterns used by such effective people and exploring the presuppositions, observational skills and language patterns that effective influencers use. Whilst these natural ‘experts’ may use these patterns completely intuitively, we can model the patterns they use and teach them to others. Those who attend this enjoyable 2-day training can expect to develop a range of concepts and tools that can significantly increase their ability to influence and persuade others in an ethical manner.”

Watt Works Consulting Ltd, a dynamic consulting, training and coaching company that helps individuals and organisations achieve sustainable performance improvement, is pleased to announce that it has developed a new course in the field of systems thinking entitled ‘Lean Thinking and Operations Management’. This exciting course will be offered at the Watt Works training venues throughout the UK and is also offered in-house to interested organisations.

Watt Works are specialists in the field of system thinking, and this 3 day course will provide a compelling introduction to the philosophy, concepts and tools of the systems thinking approach of Lean Thinking as applied to Operations Management.

The trainer is Geoff Elliott, a consultant and trainer with decades of experience at senior and board level. Geoff has consulted for a wide range of blue-chip companies internationally and has been seconded to Cranfield University. He is a Master Black Belt (MBB) in Lean and Six Sigma in the US and Japan, is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management and lectures on the Open University’s MBA programme in strategy, systems thinking, quality and operations management.

Geoff will be guiding delegates through the history of Lean Thinking, exposing a number of unhelpful myths prevalent in the field, engaging the mind-set and methodology of Lean Thinking and exploring a range of useful Lean Thinking tools. An emphasis of this course will be developing an awareness of how and when to utilise the correct Lean Thinking approach, rather than selecting random tools without thought as to their appropriateness in a given context.

Delegates who attend this stimulating and interactive course will acquire skills that can assist them to develop a leadership vision and corporate culture utilising relevant Lean tools and concepts, improve cycle times, reduce demand failure and identify methods for waste and cost reduction.

This course is highly relevant to business consultants and analysts and many people in middle to senior management. It may be particularly relevant to those who have the capacity to influence their organisation’s culture and way of working and thinking.

Watt Works Consulting’s Director of Training, Damian Hamill, commented:

“We are delighted to be adding this timely course to our UK training schedule. Watt Works is at the cutting edge of encouraging organisations to think in a systemic way and reap the rewards. Lean Thinking, properly understood and applied, can be a remarkably powerful approach to Operations Management. We are very pleased to have a trainer of Geoff Elliott’s calibre to ensure that our delegates appreciate Lean Thinking in its most flexible and productive manner.”

Watt Works Consulting Ltd, a dynamic consulting, training and coaching company that helps individuals and organisations achieve sustainable performance improvement, is pleased to announce that it has added an exciting new course to its suite of personal and professional development courses.
The title of the new course, which will be offered at a number of UK venues in the near future, is ‘Motivation Skills’. This course reflects a clear need within the UK business and corporate sectors to access training that improves the ability of companies and individuals to inspire themselves and those around them to achieve greater commitment in their working lives. It has been developed in response to the government’s recent clarion call for the business sector to focus upon developing greater employee engagement.
The Motivation Skills course offers challenging, cutting-edge training that challenges the traditional notion that the best way to motivate staff, colleagues and customers is to solely offer them material incentives linked to performance. We will look at how modern research shows the limitations of such approaches and how they can even sometimes be counter-productive. We look at a range of novel and flexible methods to engage people and motivate them by appealing to a greater and more human range of interests that can inspire in the absence of financial rewards. We will also examine how motivating staff requires us to look more closely at individual patterns rather than assuming that “one motivational style fits all”.
The course will be delivered as a live one-day training and will give delegates an opportunity to absorb new principles and concepts, reflect upon how these can be applied in the workplace and also develop a range of practical skills to motivate themselves and others. It will also enable delegates to obtain an insight into their own personal motivational patterns and to realise how others they work with may well respond very differently. This awareness of the variety of motivational patterns in the workplace can help develop an increased flexibility in our client organisations.
We are proud to announce this course and believe it represents original, state of the art skills and approaches in this field.
These new courses will be run in the company’s key locations of London, Cheshire and Belfast and will be led by the Watt Works’ Director of Training, Damian Hamill, who commented: “Many of the approaches and concepts that have been taught in the areas of staff motivation are stale and outdated. They don’t serve the companies who use them, their staff or their customers. By combining recent research findings with a broad spectrum of relevant NLP concepts we believe we have created a unique and eclectic approach that will generate greater staff engagement and job satisfaction which can only be to the benefit of employees and the companies they work for. We invite you to join us in learning about these exciting approaches.”

Watt Works Consulting Ltd, a dynamic consulting, training and coaching company that helps individuals and organisations achieve sustainable performance improvement, is pleased to announce that it will be offering a full-curriculum Neuro-linguistic Programming (NLP) Practitioner training course at a number of UK venues in the near future.

The company, which already offers a range of personal and organisational development courses in London, Cheshire and Belfast, has decided to expand its range of NLP training to include this widely recognised and respected level of training in NLP. The course will consist of approximately 120 hours of live, experiential training, designed to develop within students an appreciation of the concepts and approaches of NLP, whilst skilling them in a wide range of techniques and applications.

Practitioner Level training is recognised within the NLP community as a significant level of training and students holding a Practitioner Certificate can choose to further develop their interest by advancing to Master Practitioner training and beyond. The qualification can also be a welcome addition to an individual’s CV.

Apart from the stimulating, interactive classroom learning that will be offered on the course, Watt Works will be helping students utilise and integrate many of their new-found skills through practical modules based around developing skills on indoor climbing walls. These climbing sessions which will enable students to develop real, ‘in the muscle’ confidence in the techniques of self-mastery they will learn, will be blended with relevant NLP concepts and supervised by fully qualified climbing instructors.

The NLP Practitioner courses will be run in the company’s key locations of London, Cheshire and Belfast and will be led by fully certified NLP Trainers. The Lead Trainer will be Watt Works’ Director of Training, Damian Hamill, who commented:

“We are very pleased to be expanding our training programme by offering what is generally considered to be a significant first step qualification in NLP – Practitioner certification. We believe that the opportunity we provide students to meet and exceed personal challenge in a supportive environment through our integrated climbing experience, makes this training that little bit special. Many of our students may find that this training provides them with all of the NLP knowledge and skills that they require whilst others may find their appetite whetted to go further and undertake advanced training. Whatever our student’s goals – we look forward to helping them achieve them.”

Watt Works Consulting will be commencing its training programme at Grosvenor House with a two-day Facilitation Skills course to be held on the 4th and 5th July 2011. This course will provide delegates with a solid foundation for becoming a trained independent facilitator. Delegates will learn about group dynamics and group development, workshop design, dealing with challenging personalities and a number of techniques that will enable them to apply their new skills to their working environment in a productive and rewarding manner.

Damian Hamill, Watt Works’s Director of Training, commented: “We are delighted to be bringing our training and consultancy services to Northern Ireland. As someone brought up in Belfast, I am well aware of the wonderful quality and character of the population and I look forward immensely to working with the people here. Grosvenor House represents an ideal venue for our learning and couldn’t be better placed in terms of accessibility. I anticipate our first course on Facilitation Skills this July being an enjoyable and inspiring event.”
