Okay, so most people already know, or have figured out on their own, how to make a miniature cup for a dollhouse. The reason I decided to do a "how to" on this is simply...deep breath...at one time I actually had to google it myself ...lol I had tried making miniature cups out of Sculpey Clay (which I love to use for stuff), but failed miserably. Turns out I was driving myself crazy for nothing!! I really felt pretty silly when I discovered how easy it was to make a miniature cup. So, sharing my new found wisdom with others....Hope you enjoy... :D

Miniature Tumblers/ Miniature Cups:
Most likely the easiest, most cost effective miniature to make! The pictures say it all really. Take a few ink pens (better to use ones that are already headed to the trash..lol) that have bottoms or tops that look like kitchen cups, remove the ends...You now have cups for your miniature kitchen!

Electrical wire nuts make good cup / tumblers too!

Side Notes: Some ink pen caps that have a clip on the side can be cut down to make a miniature coffee cup that has a handle too.

Use your imagination and get creative! It's amazing how much stuff you may have laying around your house that could be used to make something cool.

Today I want to share with you how to make a miniature coffee table out of a match box. This is one of those ideas that I just came up with one day while I was just sitting around. And I absolutely Love It! Just couldn't wait to share it with everyone :D
So here how I made it.....

What You Will Need:
1 small matchbox
2 very small beads (for drawer handles)
crafting paint
2 to 4 med. sized beads (for legs)

Step 1- Remove the inside part of the matchbox and set aside.

Step 2- Take the outside cover of the matchbox and paint it the desired color. Let dry.

Step 3- Take the center of the matchbox and paint it also and let dry.

Step 4- Add handles to the "drawers" of your miniature table.
( In my opinion small beads work best and give you he most options. Simply decide where you want them to go and glue them on.) Let dry. :D

Step 5- Add legs to your miniature coffee table using glue.
For the legs of the table in the picture I used a couple of black license plate anchors. They were handy and had the look I wanted. But really your options are almost endless here. Medium to large beads would prolly work well too! Plenty of room to be creative! :D

Yep! That's all there is to it. Super cute easy to make miniature coffee table using a matchbox! Hope you like this idea as much as I do. :D

Have a Great Day Everybody!!
This is another one of my favorite miniature ideas that I had shared on my crafting blog that I thought should for sure be on this one. How to make a miniature thermos. A miniature thermos is rather easy to make and it is a fun addition to any dollhouse or miniature shelf. Who wouldn't want a tiny thermos for their dollhouse collection. The neat thing about these is that you can make any style or color. So far I have found Two different ways to make them. So here goes...

You will need....
small piece of crafting paper
scissors
ink pen cap
metal part of a no.2 pencil
and glue

Miniature Coffee
Thermos:

First way to make a miniature thermos: ( To make the black thermos and red thermos)

Step 1- Remove the metal part of a pencil (the harder the wood the better). I do this by using two sets of pliers. One set of pliers holding the metal end of the pencil and one set of pliers turning the wood of the pencil.

Step 2- Cut off the eraser flush with the metal, or you can remove it completely. Depending on the pen cap you use, you might want to only make the eraser into a cone so the pen cap will have something extra to stick to.

Step 3- Cut the end of a plastic ink pen cap off about 1/4" (a pen cap that has a clip on the side will look like it has a handle when you cut it)

Step 4- Using super glue or crafting glue, attach the cut ink pen lid to the metal of the pencil.

Step 5- Let dry and paint or cover with your favorite craft paper design.

Second way to make a miniature thermos:
Personally, I think this way is much easier and less frustrating to make than the first one. lol

Step 1- Take an ink pen cap (use a color you want for your thermos lid to be), and cut it to the length you want your thermos to be.

Step 2- Cut out a small piece of crafting paper and wrap it around the pen cap. Hold the paper about 1/4 in down from the top of the cap. ( The top of the pen cap will be your thermos lid) Trim the piece of craft paper to fit around the bottom part of the pen cap.

Step 3- Put a thin layer of crafting glue on the back of the paper, then wrap the paper around the pen cap. Let dry.

Side Notes: If you don't have an ink pen cap that has a clip on the side to make a handled look, you can simply cut a small square off the extra pen cap and glue it to the side of your thermos lid.

And there you go. Super easy and all made out of what you probably have laying around your house.

Hope you enjoy this miniature as much as I do.
Have a great day! :D

Ever want to know how to make a miniature box of tissues? Well, that's what I'm gonna show you how to do today. This miniature idea is a little harder than the last couple of how to's I have shown you, but it is still pretty basic. You put it together as you would a real box of tissues only a lot smaller..lol Today I will be showing you how to make two different styles miniature tissue boxes. A rectangle one and a square one. They both have the same concept and directions only they use different patterns.
So, let's get started :D

You will need
small piece of heavy card stock
tiny piece of plastic
glue
scissors
tissue
and a pattern for a box

How to Make a
Miniature Box of Tissues

Step 1- The hardest part. Making a pattern. The concept is easy, but making your measures and cuts square, can be a little tricky. I usually end up trimming my box a little to help it get square before I glue it. lol I have found that for me, it is just easier to do it that way. I am adding a couple of pictures to help you get an idea of how your pattern should look. The measurements will depend on what scale you choose to use though. I'm using a 1:16 scale for these patterns. Keep in mind, the most common dollhouse scale is 1:12.

Pattern for Miniature Tissue Box (rectangle)

Pattern for Miniature Tissue Box (square)

You may want to make tabs for the sides on the inside of the box to help it be more stable when you glue it. Giving your box inner tabs makes this project a little harder, but will give your miniature tissue box a more finished look. Tabs are totally optional so I didn't put them in the pattern. If you are planning to make these little treasures to sell, I certainly encourage the tabs.

Step 2- Using a heavier card stock, cut out the pattern for your tissue box. If you don't have card stock some sort of thick paper from a pamphlet, flier or an old birthday card will work fine. Just use what you've got.

Step 3- cut a small piece of plastic and glue the plastic piece over the hole of the box. Be sure not to get the glue on the part of the plastic that will be showing. Let dry.

Step 4- Cut a small slit into the plastic for the tissues to pop through.

Step 5- Fold the miniature tissue box creasing the edges until they are square.

Step 6- Glue the miniature tissue box together leaving one side open. Let dry.

Step 7- Take your tissue and cut into small squares. You'll need several.

Step 8- Fold two sides of your tissue squares till both sides almost meet in the middle of the square.

Step 9- Stack your tissues by slipping one side of the folded tissue into the fold of another tissue. the same way real tissues are stacked. Do this until you a have a stack that will fit into your miniature tissue box. Be sure to leave 1/8" of space in your box. You don't want your tissues to be too tight or they won't pull out right.

Step 10- Put your stack of tissues into the open side of your box. Glue box shut and let dry.

Step 11- Use a pair of tweezers to pull out a tissue so you have one that stands up out of the box.

And that's how to make a miniature tissue box.

So I hope you enjoyed this miniature project.
See you next time :D
Okay, so I'm back from my camping trip and as much fun as it was I am really tuckered out...lol And while I was thinking about which new miniature idea to tell you about next, it dawned on me. I have this whole other blog that has a some great how to miniature ideas on it and well, I thought it would be a good idea to post them here too. It makes since seeing as how this blog is all about how to make miniatures. So for today I will be sharing with you how to make a miniature basket using an acorn top. It is certainly one of my favorite miniature ideas. So, here goes...from my WeBeKrafty blog I present to you.... (drum roll..lol) How to make a miniature acorn basket!

This one is so cute, and so super easy!

To get started, you'll need an acorn top. Most of you can find these around your yard. This was better for me to do right before spring because there were a lot of acorn tops already separated from the nut and laying on the ground. You will also need a few leaves with long stems. (get a few just in case the first one breaks) Oak leaves will work, but you will have to take some of the leaf part off to make your basket handle long enough. Maple leaves work really well. Almost any leaf will do the trick!

Step 1- Take your acorn top and clean out any dirt that may be in it.

Step 2- Pop of the stem of the top so that it will sit flat on a surface.

Step 3- Cut off the long stems of your leaves and soak in water for 5 to 10 minutes.

Step 4- Slowly work at bending the stem into a horseshoe shape. Bend it some then let soak and bend again. Until it's ready to be a handle for your basket. (5 to 10 min)

Step 5- Dry off your bent stem and trim the length to fit your basket.

Step 6- Dab a little bit of super glue on each side of the inside of your basket.

Step 7- Place the ends of the stem into the super glue and hold it there until it stays up on its own.

Step 8- Reinforce the stem by dabbing a small bit of crafting glue over the super glue.

Step 9- Let dry.

Viola! A miniature basket made out of an acorn top! :D
Told you it was easy..lol

Bonus Miniature!

Miniature
Acorn
Serving Dish :
Since we're on the acorn theme, I thought I would add this
easy miniature how to also. All you'll need is a couple of acorn tops. Make sure one is smaller than the other.

Step 1- Clean out any dirt that may be in or on the acorn tops. Pop off the stems of the acorn tops
.
Step 2- Put a dab of crafting glue on the outside of one of the tops where the stem was. Place the other acorn top against it and squeeze. Making sure the acorn tops are attached where you want them. Let dry.

After the acorn tops have dried you will be ready to paint!

I painted this serving dish white to give it that fancy "milk glass" look.

That's all I have for today, Thanks for looking. Be sure to leave a comment and let me know what you think.
Have a Fantastic Day!!
So, it's the weekend and I am going camping! Yay!
But before I go, I wanted to share with you how to make a miniature plunger. It kinda follows the miniature bathroom theme that I have been on..lol
Making a miniature plunger for your dollhouse is possibly easier than making the miniature toilet brush. Really! lol And it is a super quick miniature to make. So here goes.....

You will need....
small sized window suction cup
wooden toothpick
glue
scissors
paint
small nail

How to Make a
Miniature Plunger:

Step 1- Using a small nail, poke a hole through the top of the suction cup to the bottom.

Step 2- Trim around the edges of the small suction cup, with scissors, until you get desired size. (this is the plunger part)

Step 3- Cut the pointy tip off of a wooden toothpick. Then cut the rest of the toothpick to the desired length. Be sure to leave a little extra to go into the hole of the suction cup. (this will be your plunger handle)

Step 4- Put a dab of glue onto the end of your toothpick. Put glued end inside the hole of the suction cup. Let dry.

Step 5- Paint your miniature plunger, pink, black, or whatever color you want, and let dry.

Yep that's all there is to it! :D

Have a Wonderful Weekend!

Today I want to share with you how to make a miniature toilet brush. A miniature toilet brush can be a great addition to any dollhouse bathroom. There are a couple of ways to make miniature toilet brush. The scrubbie part is the same but you have a choice in what kind of handle you want. Making a miniature toilet brush is super easy to do, and I almost bet you already have the supplies you will need for this miniature idea.

      You will need.....
pipe cleaner any color

toothpick (plastic or wood)
or small piece of fine wire
super glue or crafting glue

So, lets get started.....

How to Make a
Miniature Toilet Brush:

Step 1a- First you wanna take your toothpick (this will be your brush handle) cut it to the length desired. I like to use a plastic toothpick and cut it where one side is a little wider than the other, and trim off the pointy end a little. Most toilet brushes have a flat end on the handle...Also, if you don't have a toothpick that is the color you want, you can paint it after you are finished.

Step 1b- If you are using wire you will want to cut it a little over double the length that you want. fold the wire piece in half and twist like a twist tie. If you make it too long just cut off the extra. BTW..twist tie wire works well for this project, just clean off the paper wrapper, you may have to double the wire before you twist it to give it a little more thickness.

Step 2- Next, cut a piece of pipe cleaner, about a an inch. Take your piece of pipe cleaner and trim down the fuzz on all sides. Until the wire part is showing pretty well. (do this till you get the desired fluff of your scrubbie) You may have to do a couple pieces just to practice..lol

Step 3- Take your pipe cleaner and bend it into a small oval. Use the handle size to help determine how big of a circle to make.

Step 4- hold the curled pipe cleaner against the tip of your handle and wrap the tail part of the pipe cleaner around the base of your handle. Cut off the excess pipe cleaner.

Step 5- pull off the fitted scrubbie part and put a dab of glue on the end of your handle. Slide handle back into the scrubbie and let dry.

Now you have a handmade miniature toilet brush for your dollhouse bathroom!
See Super Easy! :D

So today I have a great miniature idea on my list. It is something that every dollhouse bathroom needs. Miniature toilet paper! If you want to give your dollhouse the "could be real" look, a roll of toilet paper is a must! Making a miniature toilet paper roll is very, very easy. Here's how....

How to Make a Miniature

Toilet Paper Roll:

Step 1- Take a small piece of a paper sack and cut it to the height you want your roll to be. This could vary in size depending on what scale you are making your miniature.

Step 2- Roll the paper tightly a few times. My magic number is 3. Cut off the excess paper.

Step 3- Secure the roll with super glue. (Any glue will work, super glue is just faster) This will be the core of your toilet paper.

Step 4- Cut long strips of actual toilet paper a little wider than the length of your core. 12-16 inches worth should be enough.

Step 5- Secure one end of the toilet paper to the core piece using, again, super glue. Then, roll, roll, and roll some more. You want to make sure that your roll is wide enough to fit the scale that you are using, and also, that it is rolled tightly.

Step 6- Secure the end of your miniature toilet paper roll about 1/8" from the end so it has a little paper flap. I believe doing this makes it look a little more realistic.

Step 7- Trim off the extra paper from the top and bottom of your roll, so it is even with the core of the roll.

That's all there is to it! You Now have your own miniature toilet paper roll! Yay! :D

Bonus Miniature Idea!!

How to Make a
Miniature Paper Towel Roll:

To make a miniature paper towel roll for your kitchen, simply follow these same steps. Only, use paper towel instead of toilet paper.

Hope you like this super easy miniature idea. Have a Great Day!

Okay, so I bet if you like making miniatures you have probably, at some point, wondered how to make a miniature baking pan, or miniature casserole dish. Seeing as how this one is super easy, I thought it would be a great miniature to start my new blog off with.

To make a miniature baking pan all you need is an old used up eye shadow tin. Yep, it's pretty much that easy. If you don't have an old one you can usually find a new one at your local dollar store. Seeing as how I didn't have any tins that had the shape that I wanted, that's what I decided to do. And for $2 I got over a dozen miniature baking pans. Yay! So here's what you do...

    How to Make a Miniature
        Baking Pan:

Step 1- After you have your eye shadow pack, you will need to get the tins out of it. You can do this a couple of ways. If the eye shadow is a cheap brand you can soak it in water for a day or so, and the glue that hold the tins in should loose it's grip and they will pop out easily. I suggest emptying all of the eye shadow squares out before you soak them. Less Messy.
The other way to remove the tins from the case is to break the case. If you do this..WEAR SAFETY GLASSES!!! I take two sets of pliers and just snap off pieces until I can see the bottom of a tin. Then I use a small flat head screw driver to pry up a tin. then I snap off a few more pieces and so on... This will be messy and if you do it right you will have lots of sharp plastic pieces all over the place when your done... lol
Step 2- Now that you have your tins simply wash and let dry.

If you want to make a miniature casserole dish it is the same as above. After your tins are dry, just paint them. Adding a coat of gaze after you paint your dish will give it a more casserole dish look. My advice is to put your miniature food in your dish before you paint it. Unless your tend to be more patient than me..lol

Bonus Miniature of the Day!!!
How to make a miniature skillet!
Simply take your round tins and glue on a piece of a toothpick onto the side of it.
Then paint the handle black. And that, my friends, is how to make a miniature skillet for your dollhouse. :D
In case you don't know me, let me introduce myself a little bit. My name is Winney and I love making crafts. All sorts of em. I also like sharing these ideas with people. So, awhile back I started a blog to share my crafty ideas. I have been writing a blog on how to make all sorts of crafts for your home, and then realized that I have an abundance of miniature ideas to share with you. So, why not make a separate blog that is all miniatures? Makes since to me..lol So, here goes..my simple blog on how to make miniatures the easy way. Granted, some of these miniatures are harder to make than others but, if I can do it I'm sure most of you will be able to make them too!
Glad you stopped by, I hope you enjoy my miniature how to's :D
