6:30 PM to 8:30 PM - Cedar Mill Community Library: What comes before phonics? Rhymes, syllables, sounds... and much more! Learn how you can help preschoolers develop the skills they need to have before they actually learn to read. The songs, rhymes, books, and activities presented will offer ways to nurture a child’s phonological awareness, easily and with fun for all! Participants will receive a certificate for two training hours. Free workshop with limited space. 6:30 PM - North Plains Public Library: Would you like feedback on your writing projects or hear about activities on which other writers are working on?The North Plains Library is putting together a writers' group were anyone can bring any project on which they would like feedback. Individuals may also choose to join in the notably fun group-write prompt to see what bubbles up.This is not a teacher - or trainer - led class. This is a workshop where you have an opportunity to share your work and receive feedback in a safe, non-critical space.

Cost: $14 supply fee for one student, or two for $24 with the family and/or friend discount, due at the beginning of class. Discount limited to one per friend or family member. Supply fee includes all supplies it will take to complete your cards.In this class you’ll make four unique greeting cards, including a birthday card, thinking of you card, thank you card, etc. You choose your customized greeting on each of your cards. Additionally, we will make one surprise project. You will leave with five completed projects.
