The legendary DEVO are currently touring the States as a part of their “Mutate, Don’t Stagnate” tour, ahead of their UK dates alongside the B-52s.

They will stop into the New York area for a performance at The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester next Tuesday, June 9th. The historic venue is the perfect place to see these rock legends in a setting as historic as their trailblazing music.

We last caught them at CBGB Festival in 2014, which is simply unacceptable on our part. We are excited to see them in our neck of the woods again and we highly recommend you join us in catching their set to start your week off right.

Brightmoon is the project of LA-based married duo, Becca and Billy Mohler, who have recently returned with their latest EP, First Light, released via Noon Records.

One of the standout moments is the title track and opener “First Light” which channels classic 90s shoegaze with big blissful guitar work that pairs well with Becca’s heavenly vocals. There’s an ethereal dreamy quality to it that soars with elements of psych rock and Brit rock. There’s a wide arrange of glorious fuzzy noise that all adds up to a delightfully hypnotic effect.

Pagodas is the Sheffield-based project of singer-songwriter Bryn Vincent, joined by a collective of musicians including Zoë Penny, Rory MacGregor, Ollie Clark, Alastair Gordon and Rhys Graham.

We previously shared a handful of their singles and they have since returned with a new mini EP, Bean Burger. Opening the EP is the single and title track, which features traces of 90s Brit Rock in the vein of Blur with a playful set of vocals that have a laid back charm that is perfectly suited for the more jangle pop musing on the track that have elements of Belle & Sebastian as well. It’s an effective indie rock track that has a ton of raw power in the way it delivers captivating hooks and an awesome slacker rock anthemic feel that is infectious and full of passion and heart.

Paycheque is the Los Angeles duo of Alison Goldfarb and Jackson MacIntosh (TOPS, Drugdealer), who have recently shared their single “Generic Actress’, which will appear on their self-titled debut album, Paycheque, which will be released on June 12 via Mansions And Millions.

The track just radiates summer cool, with a very Los Angeles spirit that feels like it could have been a lost gem of the 80s. It’s got bright-minded golden synths with a colorful spirit and an upbeat nature that feels like the soundtrack for an ultimate summer night out on the town, or as they put it, paints the lethargic tempo of Southern California existence in technicolor hues.

On the single, Paycheque share:

“In LA, when you go out, you end up spending a lot of time standing outside of whatever event or party you’ve decided to attend. You’re on the sidewalk, you’re in a strip mall parking lot, you’re on a patio. You smoke, you bump into friends, and you eventually realize you missed half the set you came to see, you never actually made it inside the gallery, the party is winding down. This song is an ode to never quite making it inside. Sonically, we think of this song as kind of a synth-pop version of an early Cars hit; it’s our attempt to make a propulsive new wave anthem.”

CASTLEBEAT is the indie dream pop project of Josh Hwang, who has announced the release of his latest album CASTLEBEAT II, set for release on June 26th, 2026 via Spirit Goth Records.

He has recently returned with the album’s second single “My Love”, described as a “late-night heartbreak anthem.” The track wonderfully blurs the sonic worlds of post punk, new wave and synth dream pop with a distinct 80s edge that feels like a blend of acts like New Order, The Drums, Beach Fossils and Craft Spells. There’s a dark melancholic quality to it that melds perfectly to the vibrant hopeful spirit of the track at the same time.

Detailing the track, Hwang adds:

“‘My Love’ reads like fragments from a diary and a photo you can’t stop revisiting, while the chorus hits with a quiet crash: ‘I hit the floor and it’s breaking my heart.’ Minimal, hypnotic dream-pop with a repeatable hook designed for late-night listening, breakup playlists, and introspective indie pop.”

Stomp Box Choir are a new collective formed by longtime friends and collaborators Howsie (producer) and Joe Stratton (songwriter), who have won our hearts with their recently shared single, “Slow Burning Memory.”

The track harnesses a 90s blend of trip hop and a synth pop blend that has a really hypnotic atmospheric groove and production, led by a gorgeous vocal performance that has an airy and floaty characteristic to it. There is a cinematic widescreen nature that is paired with a reflective state of being and dreaminess that puts the mind and soul far at ease.

Or as they put it:

Slow Burning Memory began with a single drum sample; its visceral, looping energy creating an introspective, almost paranoid trance – especially when set against the piano and bass. Like its title, the track burns slowly, with instruments dropping in and out to build suspense and restraint. This is our second release and continues the late-night downtempo direction of our debut, Magnifier.

Gitkin is a multi-instrumentalist and producer hailing from Brooklyn, NY, who now resides in New Orleans, Louisiana and recently shared their latest album, Where the South Winds Wail.

“Rain Over Royal” is its opening track and single, one that operates in a world of a cinematic of surf and psych rock (thing Khruangbin) that feels like the sort of song that would soundtrack a killer scene in a film directed by Tarantino. There’s a sense of wonder to it, with a smooth groovy nature and even a big of a Sphagetti Western quality that is both playful, sinister, and hypnotic.

Martina Liviero is a songwriter, composer, guitarist, and vocalist from Argentina, currently based in Brooklyn, who released her debut album, Formas al Desaparecer, which was released on Hilo Records on May 15.

One of the standouts off the record is single “Florecer” which features  clarinet from Joana Queiroz. The track features lyrics that explore themes of pain and awakening, delivering a deft sense of beauty and relfection that explores gorgeous corners of folk and chamber pop. There is a classic old school stillness to the track which is moving and tender with a sense of warmth and elegance.
