UB Funkeys Dream State Starter Kit

If you're getting tired of Funkiki Island and if Royalton Racing Complex seems kind of dull lately then you need to unlock the Daydream and Nightmare Zones. To do that, you'll need the U.B. Funkeys Dream State Starter Kit.

The idea behind Dream State is that Master Lox, the big bad guy in UB Funkeys, has started taking over the UB Funkeys dreams. So they have create two new zones for you to explore, Daydream and Nightmare.

As usual, each Funkey unlocks a different game in the zone and also opens up new items for you to spend your hard earned coins on.

But what's cool about Dream State is that they have added a few new twists. Now there's Multiplayer Funkeys so that you and a friend can compete against each other and there's also Chat Funkeys so you can communicate too.

If you're looking to jazz up your UB Funkeys experience then you need to get your hands on the Dream State Starter kit.

I was wandering around Target during lunch the other day and stumbled across something interesting called, The Funkiki Island Adventure Pack. It's a package of UB Funkeys that contains Jerry, a Native and The Pineapple King. How cool is that?

I searched Amazon for UB Funkeys to see if they had a similar bundle but I couldn't find one. So when the say, "Only at Target" on the box they are serious.

This is old news but I thought I should post it anyway. Someone took the time to make a screencast of this Royalton Racing story from a UB Funkey breaking news segment so it's worth a view. Much better than those videos that show shaking, unfocused camcorder footage of their computer screen. Those things make me dizzy.

New Speed Racer and Dream State Funkeys

It's really too bad that the Speed Racer Movie was a bomb this summer. It seemed like a good idea to do a movie tie-in with UB Funkeys because when these things work, they raise the profiles of both parties. More Speed Racer fans might have checked out UB Funkeys and more UB Funkey fans might have checked out Speed Racer. It's too bad they didn't do something with the movie Ironman or even Indiana Jones.

But not all is lost for UB Funkeys this summer. The new Dream State will also be launched with new features and improvements.

Here's a video of some of the new Dream State characters with some Speed Racer stuff mixed in.

This little girl knows her U.B. Funkeys. My son and I sat at the computer and learned a bunch of new things today by watching two of these UB Funkeys Hot Tips Videos.

UB Funkey Starter Kit

In order to play UB Funkeys, you'll need a starter kit. The starter kit will come with either 2 or 4 UB Funkeys and the larger Funkey Hub. You can also buy UB Funkeys separately so make sure you buy a starter kit first. You can't play UB Funkeys without the Hub.

The Funkey Hub plugs into your computer via a USB port and the smaller Funkeys plug into the the Hub. There are metal connectors at the bottom of their feet so they sort of magnetically snap into the Hub's head.

One thing I learned from watching the UB Funkeys videos was that the Funkey Hub has a name too. His name is UB. If you look on the back of his head you'll even see it there. Sort of UB Funkey tattoo that reminds people what his name is.

It's a good idea to buy the starter kit before you buy any individual UB Funkeys to avoid getting doubles. There's nothing wrong with having more than one of the same Funkey but I'm sure you'd prefer to have a different one instead.

From the very first time my son and I saw this UB Funkeys TV commercial, we knew we would love the Funkeys. And when we finally did buy them, we weren't disappointed.

Funkeys are a lot of fun and I think this commercial really captured that fact. Now if there was only a way to stop Master Lox and his henchmen from stealing all of our coins.

Welcome to the WeBeFunkey blog. When I first saw U.B. Funkeys, I knew that these were toys that I... uh... my 5 year old son had to have. Combining a cool vinyl collectable figure with a virtual world filled with games and activities is a great idea. It's such a great idea that it's being done for every toy that's getting made lately. You've got Webkinz, Neopets and Shining Stars and even Barbie and Hot Wheels are getting in on the whole virtual world thing.

But what makes U.B. Funkeys different, is that they're cool sci-fi looking characters that are perfect for boys and their Dads.

So as my son and I learn all the ins and outs of Funkeys Town and how to avoid Master Lox's evil henchmen, I'll post about it here.
