We love AKIBA-POP!

I never make post title's do I? Oh well.

Hello again! Do any of you ever blog in your head? You kind of think of things and tell your story, but you're just talking to yourself. This is... most definitely me. I just did it today while I took a shower, so now I have some ideas!

Recently, I got started on watching Avatar: The Last Airbender (ATLA) and I don't think I ever would have if it weren't for cosplaying. When working on my first cosplay I started watching Korra, as it had just come out a couple weeks prior and I was looking for something in english that I could watch and be able to sew things at the same time. I knew where was a lot of hype around it, but I didn't really expect to fall in love with it. Everything I usually watch is on the moeblob side to be honest? I try not to think of it that way, but it might be true....

I told my friend what I was writing about and he mentioned shipping, so right off the bat i'm going to say that i expected to like zutara and didn't. There was so much hype about zutara that i felt like it was going to be a lot more prominent, but it really wasn't. Meanwhile ZUKO AND MAI. I might be kinda spoilerish, but I have to say that I didn't even really like Mai until the end where she helped Zuko and Company escape that prison. That really took guts and it was undoubtedly the best thing she did in the series. I didn't like her mostly because of her attitude, and Zuko was pretty much the same until a point. Although he had a lot more internal conflict because of the relationship with his uncle. While I'm on the topic of characters of the fire nation, I have to mention my favorite character.

BABY BABY BABY

I love Azula. I love her so much. Definitely out there, but still a princess. You can't blame her for the way she turned out because of how she was raised!

I think this is enough of a post for now? Ehehehe~ Comments are always appreciated! Thank you!

...Again i haven't been here for a while have I? May as well make a hefty post! I feel like.. I never really told my readers about myself. So maybe I'll start with that?

My name is Angie and I'm a full time NEET and cosplayer. Recently learned how to sew on my own via youtube videos and the internet in general. I've made three costumes by myself so far, but I already have so many more planned.

2 fabric boxes....

Well... I feel like I have a lot less to say about myself then planned. Of course I'm an "otaku" for lack of a better word... I'm going up to San Francisco to see exclusive screenings of the first two Madoka movies in October and Tiger & Bunny this weekend!

Movie posters!

What was the last movie you guys saw in the theater? I can't even remember... Maybe the Woman in Black? I'm hoping to see the Silent Hill movie this October since i'm a pretty big fan, even though I'll probably be disappointed.

After a very long period (over a year?) of not remembering my account info I have returned~!

Hello to those of you still here~
I plan to start posting more frequently from now on! For now I suppose I'll go over what I've been watching this season!

Mirai Nikki

Well, how do I even begin talking about this anime? I know it was really hyped as it was a really popular manga. Personally I've only read the first couple chapters and I've just kept up with the anime. I have to say, this show gets pretty ridiculous. I was watching it with someone else and he decided to drop it because of the episode where Yukki and Yuno break into the police station and kill a bunch of people and end up escaping. Just how did grown police men get beaten up by 14 year olds?! Anime. I feel guilty for enjoying it at times, but it is addicting. My favorite character is Uryuu Minene just because eh, shes a pretty cool girl who sets off bombs and doesn't afraid of anything. The two main characters have actually become the least likeable! I'm definitely going to stick with this til the end and avoid spoilers as I have for the last couple months, so I have to watch it every Sunday night I believe? Which leads me to something that is released every week on mondays...

Another

I must admit, when this first came out i had zero expectations for it. I mean, Ali Project did the OP, come on. (That song has also grown on me immensely, I don't even listen to them normally!) I was watching it though, while being extremely negative about it calling it "Higurashi for newfriends" (~~wow im an asshole~~) The show does get pretty intense though, especially in episode 11. We also find out more about Misaki and the realllly dumb MC as the series progresses. Something about those really generic brown/black hair uguuusojapanese male protags is really tiring though sometimes. But yes, It is a lot better than I thought it would be and I would recommend it.

Anyway, thanks for reading guys hopefully I'll make more posts in the future and catch up on what you guys have been up to lately.

List may be incorrect if you look at this later on due to more people being found. Right now I'm concerned about Kana Hanazawa, Kugimiya Rie, and Norio Wakamoto. ;_; Maodka is also delayed two weeks. I'm pretty sure JC staff, Gainax, and SHAFT got hit.

I'm not a religious person, but I will stay say that I'm praying for the safety of those in Japan.

Onii-chan + Koihime Musou

2011-02-20T19:20:00.000-08:00

Koishime Musou is getting a fighting game apparently. Can't say that I really expected it, although it is quite popular, already having 3 seasons? 4 seasons? I don't even know. But yeah, it's getting a 2D fighter for those who didn't already know. I've only seen seasons one and two of the series, but it'll be great if it gets a PC release and we can all play it. \o/ Seems to have a tag team system like umineko fightan~
Source: http://koihi.me/

My posts are really short and to the point, I know ;_; I feel bad for not even making a valentines day post! Didn't really do anything, had school. Ate a box of raisinets since it's obligatory chocolate day anyway. Do you ever tell yourself you're going to start something and don't? I always wish I studied Japanese to read my weeaboo visual novels, but I don't put forth any effort. I know kana/kata and that's it. Life is boring. Staying inside all day erryday, playing dumb games (LoL ;_;) and occasionally watching anime.

The only thing I'm really keeping up with this season is Madoka and Onii-chan no koto though. Don't even ask me why I'm watching Onii-chan, because it's pretty dumb.

MC does know what's good though~ School swimsuits. SOOOO GOOD. Why don't American High schools have school swimsuits? ;_; Sure the swimming team had them, but they were REALLY ugly.

Another screen shot from Onii-chan. Even thought I knew the MC and the blonde childhood friend were taking photos together, I spaced out for a bit and for some reason when I saw this scene, I could have swore it was a picture of Koromo and Saki from 咲-Saki-. You have to admit, it does kind of look like them.

Here, Have some .gif's:

WATCH THE FRIEND DISAPPEAR BEHIND THE DOOR. HOLY SHIT.

Okay, so I must say. This kid has major swagga.

Quartett!

2011-02-11T18:14:00.000-08:00

I actually played this game a while ago, but I figured I'd make a post on it. So, MC is just your average guy, eh, gets into a prestigious music school and doesn't afraid of anything. I don't recall playing a game with an orange haired MC befo-.....F/SN. NEVERMIND.

Out of the 3 girls, Charlotte was the cutest. Holy shit, that tsuntsun. Also, littlewitch art is amazing. hgngnghgng. I wish to be that skilled. The first game I found out about made by them was Littlewitch Romanesque actually; which I gawked over. Anyway, Char~ That cute tsuntsun is toooo cute. I ended up doing her route first. You have to do a bit of her route anyway to get into others routes no matter which one you choose anyway~

Juni (right) and Shi...shi.....HOLD ON IM GOING TO LOOK THIS UP. Shuhua. (left)

Okay, I'm usually a huge megane chara fag, but Shuhua....she....wasn't my favorite. I don't know what it is. The story played out really fast, and I felt that she should have gone along with the guy that always picked her up from school. Her story didn't have much to do with music, but you do feel sorry for her. Juni on the other hand is cute and energetic~ Pretty moe. Compared to Charlotte, these stories felt...shorter? There's a lot more focus on Char since she's the main heroine. One of the coolest things about this game was the way it played. The whole speech bubble concept in it was nice, and the music was relaxing as well. I've always wished I had played an instrument and the violin is just beautiful. I don't want to give out a lot of spoilers so I'm going to keep it short. It's a lot different from other VN'S, so I'd recommend it. A nice way to spend a Sunday.

So, comments? Did you play this game? If so, who was your favorite? If not, do you know how to play any instruments?

ごきげんよう～
Hello bloggers! I've been gone for a while, but I am glad to say that I am no longer being lazy and updating this, hopefully I'm returning for good, after who knows how long.

In the time I was gone I went on a vacation to go see Family and Friends in December for Winter break. That was quite enjoyable, besides not having access to a computer. When I came back I just decided not to blog about anything, deciding it had been too long since I blogged anyway and now it's even longer! Hmm, well. Since I've been Back I played Quartett!(Newly translated VN! ehh it's been a while though), so I'll probably make a post on that and lots of MADOKA MAGICA. I can't get enough of Chidamari Sketch. I don't think I'll do major spoilers on here though, that's no fun! Speaking of spoilers and fun, I still need to read Umineko 7. Hopefully it's pretty good, I've heard some stuff about the ending just by skimming threads, but I try to ignore it.

Also, Happy new year! Today happens to be Chinese New Year as well, so happy new years to all you gooks out there. Enjoy your red envelopes ;_;

Going to sound really...bad

2010-12-14T18:30:00.000-08:00

I have discovered the world of Otome games. Picture related it's my husbando. Haha, but Yes. I played my first otome game, being Tokimeki Memorial: Girl's Side. I had seen it on /jp/ when the translation has first come out and decided I might as well get it, which was about 4 months ago.

I can say for sure now, I can understand why people are attached to 2D characters seriously. It sounds silly, but after playing it I felt really empty. I committed so much time into this game and played it for long periods of time just to remember that this wasn't actually reality. It was probably the worst feeling I had experienced in a while.

I poured out all my effort into his route and giggled whenever he would act shy around me and tell me to stop running into him. I was....really distraught afterward. The fact that I thought I actually had a glasses wearing teacher (with an amazing voice) who was in love with me. I was shocked that I could feel this way after playing it for who knows how many hours straight just to get his route done. I ended up getting all 3 routes that day shortly after which made me even more depressed.

It's a funny reason, I know. Reading something like this a couple months ago would have had no effect on me. Have I gone to the point of no return? I ended up skipping the school the next day after not being able to get a really big project done. I just had no motivation to do it. I know he were actually here, he would be disappointed in me, but I couldn't bring myself to do it. I'm still kind of ....messed up? This just happened. I'm not sure what to think.

So I decided to play more otome games, I can't say this made me feel better though. Went with Starry ☆ Sky ~in Spring~. I think I'm going to go down Daisuke Ono's route. They all love MC already though. I find it....odd. I don't have to win their love or anything really and they compliment the MC like crazy. I'm not sure what to think anymore.

RUURUUUU

2010-11-28T15:19:00.000-08:00

Best AMV I've seen in a while! If you watch P&S this will probably be more interesting to you. Scanty & Kneesocks paired up with team rocket works far too well.I've probably watched this at least 7 times yesterday.

Progress!

2010-11-27T16:15:00.000-08:00

Apparently today is Yui Hirasawa's birthday! I remember I had gotten my tablet a year ago and oh boy my drawings were super bad. I drew a picture for her birthday last year so I continued this year and drew a picture of her again. I must say I was impressed. At least I know I actually progressed some in sketching and doodling.

Lately I've only had dreams of school, which I find funny because I absolutely can't stand school. It's probably the worst part of my week, or day.
I'm a heavy sleeper so I didn't wake up until about 1pm today. It is break after all. I've seen some others blogs on sleep deprivation, but I don't think I could ever do that. I don't really care for coffee and soda so I'm not sure how I would stay up. I've never even gone a whole day without sleep! If I get about 3-4 hours of sleep one day I usually crash early to where I make up for it or wait until the weekend and sleep all day. Today I had a dream that I found my biology concepts paper that I was supposed to keep all year. (I lost it because I'm a derp.) Woke up thinking about homework and school. I don't think a day of break has gone by where I haven't thought about homework and school while doing nothing about it. I hardly started on my extra credit assignment because I'm just so lazy.

Please don't say you are lazy!

I have until tuesday though so I guess I shouldn't be worried. I should finish it to get it out of the way, but I know I won't do that. Anyway, here's the progress I made from last year compared to this year.

Last year.

This year! Both are sketches, but I do feel my drawing skills have improved greatly. I mean, Look! My head is normal sized! Happy Birthday ~~Reta-~~ Yui!

Happy thanksgiving post #95475834

2010-11-25T16:15:00.000-08:00

Happy thanksgiving everyone! (If you celebrate it). I hope everyone eats lots of turkey today! I couldn't be more thankful for the week I have off of school, my friends, and family. Good luck to all you black friday shoppers out there. I want to go black friday shopping someday, as I never have been. ;_; Isn't it sad? It's not even that crowded here in the middle of no where!

Do you guys have any black Friday experiences about getting good deals? I'd love to hear about them.

YAMI OH KIRISAKU OHHH DESIYAA (Umineko fighting game)

2010-11-20T12:20:00.000-08:00

I'm going to refrain from typing in caps because that's annoying to read, but holy shit. My body is not ready.

My body is not ready at all. From what I can tell, this special is going to be released at comiket 77 \o/ 29-31st of December. This will be a marvelous Christmas indeed.

Episode 8 should be released then too! Thanks to Witch Hunt for keeping up with translations for this wonderful sound novel.

Game seems to be for PC, so hopefully we'll all get a chance to play it! Oh man, I am the excite. I don't really know what to say. I'm kind of hoping Dlanor is playable because she's my favorite, but if she's not I'll probably go with Beato, Ange, or the Siestas. I also can't wait to see HOW BROKEN this game is. Hopefully it's not too bad. I have faith! I used to be really big on playing touhou 12.3, but I haven't played in a while. The fact that umineko is actually getting for a PC? HNNNNNNG. My body will never be ready.
If you can read moonspeak: http://07th-expansion.net/ogon/Main.htm

Also, Battler's special:

God damn it Battler.

I was going to make a post on anime, but maybe next time. When I saw this I just overly excited and needed to share it.

There is no such thing as a bad heroine, only bad games!

2010-11-11T17:22:00.000-08:00

I'm a bit behind in anime, so forgive me for late updates and other things! Watched Kami nomi zo shiru sekai recently. Went though episodes 4 and 5 and I'll probably watch 6 later on today.

Will you look at my picture?

Sora is pretty cute. I liked how MC (his name escapes me) played through all those times for her ;_; Kind of odd, but really cute. I swear I almost memorized the Japanese phrases she kept asking by the end of the episode. (She always has udon for lunch.)

Get beat in school all day? Whatever, I'm playing my PFP and still getting answers right. (How does that even work?! I wish I was as smart as him.)

Episode 5 is great as well. HNNNG KANON. I liked her as soon as the episode began because I am one of those people that enjoy idols and dancing awkwardly with glowsticks. (I love otagei.)

Gundam in my the world only god knows? It''s more likely than you think.

CUTE WITH GLASSES AS WELL.

I've actually met people who have these kind of jacket things for Idols. I've only seen pink ones, but they weren't for Kanon. Otagei is seriously fun though. (Even though it looks super lame) You really don't think about that when you're actually doing it.

Hey!

Whole episode focuses around here and she wants to get MC to notice her. MC finds this a bit unbelievable because she's an idol focusing on him even though she has a lot of fans already.

Kanon!

I just thought she was really cute here~

BASEBALL IS MOE MOE TOO.

THEM THEM HAND SIGNAL SIGNS. I love Idols. They're pretty cute! Kind of getting into Momusu lately? I know a lot more than I did previously about them. Reina has always been my favorite. Also, WHY DOES COUNTRY MUSUME EXIST? Well, at least they don't anymore. That's it for today!

Panty & Stocking 5

2010-11-05T21:54:00.000-07:00

Hey guys! Been keeping up with Panty & stocking lately. Been falling behind on Ikamusume and TWOGK. ;_; Even though I love them as well, but I get pestered every single friday to GET PANTY AND STOCKING to watch it with a group of my buddies and make stupid commentary on it. We see some actual PLOT in this episode, and if you think otherwise, well you must be new here.

Two new characters this episode! They're introduced after Panty and stocking go back to school and realize things have changes. Meet the devils Scanty and Kneesocks. They should be coming back later on in the series I expect. ALSO, ROLLING R'S

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PwZSzlk4JHA

What?

PEWPEWPEW BATHROOM FIGHTAN. UNLIMITED URINAL WORKS.

Have some panty and stocking cosplay as well. Waiting for an American panty cosplay to show up, I imagine it won't take long. I always enjoy this show. It really is stupid, but in the end the animation is great and it's just...funny.

Hooray!

2010-10-28T16:57:00.000-07:00

Did any of you ever get the free mousepads from artscow a while ago? I love this one of my waifu, but I'm too afraid to use it. So I just use the SHAMEIMARU and Beatrice mousepads I already had. Been kind of busy lately, but that should end soon and I'll get to blogging and following everyone again! It'll be great.

IN OTHER NEWS, GIANTS WON GAME ONE OF THE WORLD SERIES~ I know, I'm such a fag for liking normalfag sports related stuff, but this is the only thing I really care about. My grandpa raised me to be this way, and my favorite team has been the Giants for as long as I can remember, even though they never really win. I'm really confident that they have a great chance this year against the rangers though. Both teams are pretty good, but Giants are definitely better. I mean, LOOK HOW MOE THEY ARE. Lincecum is my husbando, holy shit he's awesome. （・∀・）

Makes it even better that and acquaintance of mine likes the rangers. He was quite...unhappy today. ( ﾟヮﾟ)

Anyway, I'm a faggot, giants are going to win the world series this year, etc.

JAPAN, Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney.

2010-10-19T21:19:00.000-07:00

>The first trailer for the brand new crossover for the Nintendo 3DS: Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney!

WHAT THE FFFFFFFFFFF JAPAAAAAAAAN. Now I HAVE TO buy the 3DS. GOD DAMN IT, I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT TO SAY. IT'S AWESOME THOUGH.

Tewhew posters among other things

2010-10-19T21:06:00.000-07:00

Isn't mine, but I wish it was. Photo courtesy of /jp/. Been thinking of getting something like this done for a while. It just looks so damn nice and classy. Thinking of maybe doing this online, because I have no idea where i would get a poster printed this big where I live. Also, power levels etc. If not a touhou poster, then maybe the umineko portraits. If I get one of battler, does that make me gay? He's fabulous. My room needs some classing up. I need to paint the walls as well. I can't live with this color much longer. I won't even tell you guys what color my room is. It's just that HAZUKASHII.

I've seen several rooms with these kind of framed pictures on /jp/ and /a/. In my opinion, it looks SO MUCH BETTER than the megami poster cutouts.
Compare:

The former just look so much better. If there's one thing "otaku" do wrong, it's usually the fact that they choose quantity over quality.

2010-10-18T19:35:00.000-07:00

Panty and stocking Lambdadelta and Bernkastel are OLEV. Haven't made a post about it yet, but you guys like Umineko, yeah? I've been reading since about when the 4th one got translated by witch hunt. One of the best things I've ever read.

Episode 7: Requiem of the Golden Witch

Translation: 15% Editing: 12%.

http://witch-hunt.com/news.html
Anime was shit, but whatever. Can't expect much out of a VN to anime adaption, just like Tsukihime (in during no tsukihime anime). I don't think any VN has been done right. Except maybe Clannad.

>You will never hold hands with the girl sleeping in the futon next to you ;_;

DOTD 3

2010-10-16T19:27:00.000-07:00

What it looks like when i actually try to draw! Started this for a online friends birthday about 5 hours ago, haven't been drawing constantly though. I don't normally have the patience to do this. Still not done, so I'll post the real version sometime later. For some reason I thought it would be super moe to see Suika sleeping outside the front of Reimu's shrine like this~ I'll erase reimu later, maybe redraw her, but i just felt like something was missing in the picture. Yeah, my hands are still pretty bad regardless, but at least it's not at bad as Ryukishi07's higurashi hands.

Edit: Just did this a few minutes ago~

Halloween!

2010-10-16T11:07:00.000-07:00

It's getting close to that time again. Although I don't go trick or treating anymore it's a really nostalgic time for me. I mean, who didn't love being a kid and getting free candy? I've been wanting to carve a pumpkin lately.

But I'm too lazy, so I just take it easy. Been thinking of either doing something likes these or maybe a Beato pumpkin. It's not as fun as it used to be though. Getting too old for this kind of thing.

I think I'll just spend the day with my vampire waifu.

welcome to /fig/

2010-10-15T15:41:00.000-07:00

My favorite.

Life is always better with shoujo

2010-10-13T18:40:00.000-07:00

Been reading a manga called love monster recently, distracted me from doing stuff on blogger. IT'S TOO GOOD. Yes, I like shoujo manga. Deal with it.

WHY CAN'T MY HAIR BE THIS FABULOUS?

don't you ever think that when reading shoujo manga? I mean, ALL THE MALES ARE SO FABULOUS. Why can't I get my hair to do that? Seriously, i look in the mirror sometimes and i despair knowing I'll never be as fabulous as men in shoujo manga. No but seriously, I'm not a big manga reader person, especially reading online, but Love monster is great.

Pic related, My face when reading shoujo manga.

2010-10-11T16:39:00.000-07:00

Some of my followers blog links aren't showing up, if you are one of those please post in the comment section and I'll be sure to check your blog out if that's the case.

Very stressful day today. Not enough sleep and other things. I don't really feel like making a new meaningful post at the moment, sorry guys. I'll get better! Fighting! Random Sakuya picture because, well. I just found it to be cute.

Mahjong!

2010-10-10T14:40:00.000-07:00

So, do any of you play Mahjong? Occasionally I play on Tenhou against others. What's Mahjong? Well, to be honest you could call it Chinese weeaboo dominoes. It is a very popular tile game in Japan though. It's not too hard when you know the rules. Theres a really great guide for rules on the game here: http://www.mediafire.com/?nundktgdonn
You can also reference the wikipedia page on all the japanese yaku:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japanese_Mahjong_yaku

You can practice here against other Japanese people: http://tenhou.net/0/
Don't feel bad if you do terrible at first, it's not like they can say anything bad to you anyway. I actually had a beginner winning streak when I first started and then I was terrible for the longest time.

I actually learned how to play after watching an anime called Saki. If you enjoy cute girls doing cute things and mahjong as well, you'll absolutely love this anime. I didn't know the rules at all when i saw it, but it makes more sense now. An anime definitely worth your time.

I'm not super great, but just tell me if you ever want to play! Only Yakuman I've gotten would be little winds. Might have been able to go for big winds, but whatever!

This week I'll probably do an in depth tutorial on all the moon runes (japanese) in the game and what they mean!

Vietnamese Sandwiches

So a couple days ago, I found this Vietnamese sandwich shop about ~30 minutes away from my house. Even though it's that far, I found it to be worth it. There were tons of Vietnamese sandwich shops where i used to live, so I was missing the taste. What makes Vietnamese sandwiches different than normal sandwiches, you say?

LOOK AT THAT, IT IS DELICIOUS. Just a sandwich with more vegetables in it, but it's great. (and cheap). Well not as cheap here, if you live in California though, it's common to see these in certain areas along with froyo (frozen yogurt) places and Tapioca drink shops.

It sounds weird if you haven't tried it, but Avocado smoothies are the best things ever. I highly reccomend them, despite how weird it sounds. I never get a positive reaction when i tell someone about avacado smoothies. Ever.

It's delicious though! I'm so deprived here. All the Vietnamese and good Asian food is so far away ;_; I find it funny, everyone I knew back home was Asian, and you go farther into the middle of the US and they all disappear. During history class instead of Asians they call them "oritentals". I stifled my laughter hard. You don't see any black people here either. I think I've seen about 5 black people and I've been here around 4 months.

Anyway, I'm sorry but if your going to try tapioca drinks, Strawberry is probably the worst choice. I love normal strawberries, don't get me wrong, but strawberry boba is gross.
