The Magneficient Tunnel of Love

There are some places around the world that really catch our attention. One of this places it the Tunnel of Love, a train tunnel made entirely of trees. It’s a magical place, perfect for wedding photography!

The Tunnel of Love is located in Kleven, Ukraine, and it is definitely one of the most gorgeous green tunnels I’ve ever seen, and it would be awesome to visit it someday! I wonder if any of you have ever been there… if so, please, don’t forget to share your pictures with us! Wintergarden Facade by Studio 505

Studio 505 have designed the new facades to the three street frontages of the Wintergarden Shopping Centre in Brisbane, Australia.

Project description:

The brief for the new facades to the three street frontages of the Wintergarden Shopping Centre in central Brisbane required the creative application of a coherent identity and architecturally holistic sensibility in order to realise a multitude of intentions – to create an entertaining and engaging retail experience, a lifestyle destination and a ‘must-go-to’ meeting place and thoroughfare – at the heart of Brisbane’s city centre.

Our response to this brief was to build upon the deep cultural collateral and public good will that resides in the site and the name ‘Wintergarden’ and create a radically experiential composition, a complex and beautiful study of nature, geometry and layering that communicates the rich diversity of life.

It is not an ‘illustration’ of nature nor is it merely an abstract pattern. The depth of engagement with these façades lies within this irresolvable ambiguity.

Most people would love a dedicated room at home to use as a second office, or even a designated corner of the living room or bedroom, or a dining room table that doubles as a center of industry. So if you are lucky enough to have commandeered one of these areas for work, then how do you go about making it a stylish and practical study?

A large desktop, like a dining room table, is ideal if there is likely to be more than one family member working at home at any given time, though this is not a great solution for those who are desk hogs as arguments may ensue when paper-mountains overflow from one side to the next.

Hot and Blurry Summer Paintings of the City

Given the recent heat wave that has hit New York City, artist Philip Barlow’s blurry renditions of a crowded city really resonate with me. The South Africa-based painter’s series simply titled The City depicts a photorealistic interpretation of a busy, out-of-focus urban setting that seems to reflect the glow of a vibrant sun beating down on the pavements. Barlow captures the soft focus effect perfectly in these oil paintings, further intensifying the overwhelming crowds and sweltering heat. With the hazy, blurred out faces, architecture, and other visually defining landmarks, these throngs of people on the streets can belong to any city in the world during summertime.
