Wealthy Affiliate Gold Membership - A More Affordable Option

Some of the prospective clients I've spoke to expressed that the relatively new membership fee to join Wealthy Affiliate wasn't in their budget.

As many of you may know, affiliate marketing, while popular, isn't the only way to make money online.

Website flipping, the art of buying and selling websites for quick profit, is yet another way to make a lot of money in a short space of time. There are some people who rely on this solely for a living.

Though it may sound easy, it does require a bit of skill but one benefit is that you can start with minimum investment.

Below, I'm going to outline the process and show you how you could get started with this very profitable technique.

You will need:

Domains
Web Hosting with cpanel
Website Marketplace
Paypal Account

You may also need to learn a bit about the ins and outs of website flipping. Killer Flipping Secrets is a solid course done by two guys who's primary source of income is website flipping.

Get a website

There are different ways you can go about the process of making money flipping websites. For example, you may either decide that you're going to build the sites yourself from scratch or you're going to buy undervalued sites and 'fix them up' then sell them.

Whichever route you decide to go, it is important to look at your strengths and work accordingly. So if you're not good at designing and building websites then you may want to either hire out this process or buy good looking websites that are undervalued in other areas such as SEO or monetization.

Add Value

Once you've gotten a website, you'll then need to add some type of value. For instance, if a website isn't making any money, you can add value by monetizing it. You can add value to a site that is already making money by increasing its profitability.

Also look for other ways in which the website is lacking. Does the content of the site allow for you to build a subscriber list? This could mean the difference between just selling a website and selling an existing business. You can ask for more if you're selling more than just a website.

List it

The last step is to find a buyer for your website. You're ready to make the flip.

Today, Wealthy Affiliate released the latest tool within its membership area completely unannounced followed by an email notification to members.

Wordpress Express is the latest in Wealthy Affiliate's ongoing efforts to enhance its membership experience and make its training program for internet marketers completely self-contained.

When you need to build websites there will be no need to go outside of Wealthy Affiliate in search of a website builder and web hosting.

As you may or may not know, Wealthy Affiliate already provides free website hosting for members and a website builder called Site Rubix. Wordpress Express is just another option if you prefer the convenience of a content management system or love the simplicity of building blog sites with Wordpress.

So what's so special about Wordpress Express?

It's no secret that Wealthy Affiliate caters for every level of marketer from beginners to experienced. In most cases the experienced marketer would already know how to build websites whether with editing software or with CMSs like Wordpress and Joomla.

How cool is it that you don't have to go looking for them? WP Express comes preloaded with:

Akismet - for screening comments and handling spam.
All In One SEO Pack - for making sure your blogs rank high in the search engines
Exclude Pages - for when you need to hide pages from your site navigation
Google Analytics for Wordpress - for tracking your visitors

Wordpress Express saves you a whole lot of time, money and trips to Walgreens to get aspirin. It's just the right thing if you're just starting out. As a matter of fact, its just the right thing if you build sites, period.

Wordpress Express is just one of two blog systems at Wealthy Affiliate, the other one being a blog funnel system for affiliates.

I haven't seen any other systems like this that will get you up and running with a Wordpress blog in under 5 minutes but I'm sure there are.

The difference is you would still have to pay for hosting and you still need to know how to market whatever it is you're promoting. Not to mention the numerous other features available at Wealthy Affiliate that would make any affiliate's life easier and their promotions more profitable.

I have no doubt at all that Wealthy Affiliate is a first rate program.
Although not a member, I continue to receive much good info & advice from Kyle and Carson via an Email subscription.
Apparently some major upgrades to the program are coming.

As mentioned on my previous post, Wealthy Affiliate is increasing the membership fee due to all the value it has added over the past 2 years since the last price increase.

Current members and anyone who joins before June 7th will not be subjected to the new price since their membership will be locked in at the price they joined.

I'm still paying $29.99 for a service that's easily worth hundreds of dollars. It saves me time, frustration and I even got a passive income stream going on so Wealthy Affiliate is very valuable to me.

And it could be for you to. But it would be a steal if you got it today.

Wealthy Affiliate Price Increase - June 2010

5 years ago when Kyle and Carson started Wealthy Affiliate, the membership consist of keyword lists and they didn't even have a forum.

Today, it has grown into a massive self contained training resource for internet marketers and has even been referred to as the #1 internet marketing training site online.

About two years ago, Kyle and Carson raised the price of Wealthy Affiliate memberships for new members.

Although the value presented at the internet marketing training site was worth ten times what members were paying, the owners still made it very affordable for people who wanted to learn how to make money online.

And although they still want to keep it affordable, the price is going up in early June but only for new members.

This is being done to more accurately represent the value offered at Wealthy Affiliate. I know this value will still be under-represented because Kyle and Carson love to over-deliver and as mentioned before they want to keep it affordable. I could be wrong, though...you never know.

There aren't any details yet on what the new pricing looks like but one thing is sure. Existing members will not pay more so if you want to get Wealthy Affiliate forever at the current price...OR...if you've been wanting to try out Wealthy Affiliate then there isn't a better time than now.

I'm still getting Wealthy Affiliate at the original price because I joined before the first price increase.

Travis Sago's Project Mom - Follow Along and Profit

If you've been following this blog or have been at affiliate marketing for a while chances are you've heard of a really super cool guy named Travis Sago.

Travis is the guy who really turned around my internet marketing career when he introduced me to his Bum Marketing course and Wealthy Affiliate.

If there's one reason why I follow Travis so closely is that he can teach you a lot. He's very successful and good at what he does and he loves to help people. I still learn a lot about marketing just following his emails and I can see how he promotes to his list and stuff like that.

The reason I'm writing this though is more of a recommendation to follow his latest project. This is especially beneficial if you're one of those who haven't made any money yet or you're still trying to get the hang of this make money online thing.

How To Market Without Hard Selling

It's a fact that people do not like to be sold to.

Instead they prefer to know that they're making their own buying decisions. As an affiliate marketer you stand a big chance of getting no where fast if you try to sell to people who are trying to make up their own minds.

As I learned a few years back starting out, affiliate marketers aren't supposed to hard sell; we're supposed to help people decide whether they should buy something or not - also known as warming up the customer. The merchant we refer the customer to is supposed to do the hard selling.

On the latest blog post at the official Wealthy Affiliate blog, Kyle explains his beef with the industry after trying to shop online for a new digital camera. Try imagining a marketer trying to hard sell another marketer who just happens to be a shopper.

Does Wealthy Affiliate Work For Someone Just Starting Out?

One of the questions I hear a lot from people who want to try Wealthy Affiliate is if the program is right for someone who has had little to no experience with affiliate marketing.

This question takes me right back to when I had just signed up. I wasn't exactly a newbie but then I wasn't making any money either. I had been failing month after month trying to make heads or tails of affiliate marketing for a whole year before I found Wealthy Affiliate. Along the way, though, I picked up a few needed skills.

Joining Wealthy Affiliate was like being a newbie all over again. I was (re) introduced to affiliate marketing, taught the basics and filled in on the pieces I was missing that would have made a whole lot of difference in the year I spent wandering aimlessly in the affiliate marketing world.

Enough about me, though. I think I might have indirectly answered the question. Wealthy Affiliate is definitely a great place for someone just starting out. In fact, I think that it is the perfect place.

A solid introduction to affiliate marketing is important. This will determine whether you make money online successfully and reach your goals or whether you just give up altogether. Wealthy Affiliates coaching material is very organized and comprehensive. For example, if you want to learn how to promote affiliate products using email marketing, there is a section for this type of marketing where you would spend your time learning about email marketing only.

Also, one of the first things you'll encounter while learning is some terminology that you may not be familiar with. SEO, PPC, squeeze pages etc might just turn you off but there is a repository for such terms called WApedia.

Many other memberships like Wealthy Affiliate cost $97 minimum and they don't offer as much. This doesn't help someone who is just starting out since they probably don't have the money to spend learning about something that may or may not work out for them.

Another way Wealthy Affiliate saves you money is by including tools in your membership for free that you would have to otherwise pay for. Web Hosting, a website builder, research tools, keyword tools etc by themselves would cost you a bit of money usually in the hundreds of dollars if purchased separately.

Without these tools, you will not be about to progress with your marketing and make money.

Submit Your Articles to Niche Volumes Article Directory

It is no secret that the way to improve the rankings for your website, blog or articles is to get more links pointing back to it.

More links mean higher rankings and higher rankings mean more exposure to your affiliate links which can translate into cash in the bank.

One of the ways to get more links is to submit your articles to article directories with a link to your site or target page in the resource box.

The more sites you submit these articles to, the better as each one helps Google determine how important your site is, which influences your ranking in the search engine results.

There are many popular article directories that are being used by marketers that provide great benefits such as high article rankings, strong do follow backlinks and quick indexing just to name a few.

New Wealthy Affiliate Action Plan for 2010

About 6 months ago, when the latest version of Wealthy Affiliate known as WA Platinum was released, there was a decision to do away with the step by step guide to internet marketing known as the 8 Week Action Plan.

This training guide was replaced by a "getting started guide" within each of the different categories of training.

So, if for example you wanted to focus solely on pay per click marketing, instead of having to go through the broad 8 Week Action Plan, skipping through stuff about article marketing and SEO, these "getting started guides" would allow you to get directly to what you want to focus on. This would help you learn what you need to learn faster and more efficiently reducing information overload.

The New Step by Step Action Plan

Not everyone was happy about the removal of the 8 Week Action Plan and Kyle and Carson decided to bring it back in the form of the new WA Action Plan.

The new plan is step by step, time released plan that gives you an overview as well as action based assignments that you must complete before moving on to the next lessons.

It is more suited for beginners who want to get familiar with the whole concept of affiliate and internet marketing first. I like how this guy puts it. It's really nothing but a 4 step process.

Making money is simple. It’s not easy, but it’s simple. And it’s an unchanged process people have been using since the dawn of time.

Is Google Hiring People To Work From Home?

I know you've seen the ads about working from home with Google - they're around a lot. It seems like you can't browse online for an hour without them popping up in your email, facebook, a forum, blog or an ad on some site that you might just be reading trying to mind your own business.

You might have questions, I'm sure, probably about the legitimacy of this opportunity. Some people might say, "Oh its Google. Has to be real."

Well stop right there. The truth it - Google is not hiring anyone to work from home. Those ads are misleading and its all a big scam. These scammers are just preying on the vulnerability of people affected by tough economic times and people wishing to make some easy money from home.

Just think about it for a minute. If Google were hiring, do you think they would let you know via a third party website? Of course, people can publish what they want but do you think they would allow those third party websites to ask for your credit card information just to ship a cd?

The third party websites also claim in the fine print that they aren't associated with Google. Go figure.

So what does Google have to say about all this?

"Google is not paying people thousands of dollars a week to fill out forms or to post links," said Jason Morrison of Google's search quality team. "Scammers are using the Google name and logo without our permission, and we are taking whatever actions we can technically and with our legal team."

Google has made several statements before on their own blogs and the above statement comes from an interview with ABC News where they ran a story about the popular scams.

The Scam

I've seem people report about having to cancel their credit cards because they couldn't stop the payments. Its either they called to cancel the subscription or they were surprised by monthly charges to their card when they thought they were only paying a low cost shipping fee.

Not only that. I tried to sign up (to see the credit card submission page) and after entering my email on the first page for a site called Goog Cash4U, I woke up to an inbox full of spam the next day. I knew it was them who sold my email address because the email account was a new one I'd created just a few days before and didn't have much exposure.

Shady Characters

You've probably seen the newspaper article sites or blogs like Diego's Road to Riches where someone talks about their success, shows you a check from Google and tells you to sign up for your Google Kit.

They're all fake. The newspaper site isn't a real site, just a one page advertisement. The blog isn't a real blog either and its all set up with one goal in mind. Right down to the fake checks, the fake comments and the fake person it was all designed to send you to the Google money kit site so that you can enter the world of credit card fraud as a victim.

The Exploit

So what's the truth behind working from home for Google?

Well, its true that Google does pay people. I've recieved checks from Google but its important to note that it isn't a job and Google doesn't hire you.

Rather, you sign an agreement with Google and sign up to participate in a free program called Adsense where they place advertisements on your website.

The Google kit advertisers are just trying to sell this information to people but its available online for free through Google. You need a functional website in order to participate. You can get all the info about Adsense by visiting this page.

What you should do

These advertisers who are responsible for such scams are guilty of false advertising and unfair business practices. They should be reported to the FTC which is the governing body that regulates advertising. In fact, the FTC has already successfully sued one of the scam companies called Google Money Tree.

When in doubt, protect yourself by doing a search online to determine what other people are saying about any particular program. Chances are if it looks to good to be true, then there are other people who will confirm that for you.
