What to Expect in the New Year!

With the New Year arriving in just a few days, people are gathering ideas of what they would like the New Year to bring into their lives. Often we are excited about not only a New Year but a new start in relationships, dreams, goals, unresolved issues or the embarking of a new journey. But for many reasons- after the excitement wears off- the process that it takes to see these entire aspirations manifest is soon to be neglected. It takes work and a made-up-mind that until the goal is reached, you will not quit! Additionally, we must realize that the work that God has began in us, He is faithful to complete.

God has finished what He needs to do but there is a part that we have to do. So whatever you are expecting the New Year to bring, make sure you put something “in” so that you can get something out! And there is no need to wait until Jan.1, start now. Get a journal and right down what you desire to happen within the year 2013 and your plans to reach those goals.

Next, get alone with God- the author and finisher of your faith! You need His guidance and strength if you’re going to successfully experience a fruitful year. Ask God for a vision, then write it down and make it plain. Keep the vision in front of you until it manifests! Because what you consistently focus on- good or bad will manifest in your life. Why not focus on things that are possible to him that believes.

Last, stay away from vision killers and surround yourself with everything and everyone that will add to the process. Vision killers are negative thoughts, negative/unproductive people, bad habits and negative confessions. Don’t hesitate to let go all the accumulated “baggage” that is dragging you down and hindering you from stepping out in faith and seeing your dreams come to past! Get serious about your goals like your life depends on it and never look back until you reach them.

As for me, a lot has happened since I lasted posted on this blog. What I am most excited for is (God Willing) the release of my first book in February 2013. STAY TUNED FOR MORE DETAILS!

“The Gardener of my heart and the Part I Play”

“Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.”

Proverbs 4:23

As people, we are all tempted with jealousy, depression, self-seeking, greed, gossip, unforgiveness, laziness, impatience, worry, fornication, adultery and any thing else that would contaminate the soil of our hearts and threaten our growth and well-being. These pollutants along with others are used as tools by the enemy of our soul to choke our faith and destroy the life within us; it chokes our capability to love as Christ loves and live in abundance.

God is the gardener of our hearts (if allowed). He plants seeds in our hearts that will produce the fruit of the Holy Spirit: “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control….” Galatians 5:22-23 However, we have a part to play and that is we- with God’s help- are sort of like the pest control. Our job is to study God’s Word (The Bible) so that we can be exposed to all types of pests (sin) that wars against our hearts. Once we are made aware of what is wrong, we’ve got to stay away from it. “Remember, it is sin to know what you ought to do and then not do it.” James 4:17

S/N Often times when I am tempted to do something I know is wrong, I ask myself this simple question: “Is it worth it?”

Additionally, we must allow God to also pluck the weeds that have taken root in the fallow ground of our hearts. Jesus came that we may have life and life abundantly. "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.” John 10:10 However, there are times that we experience circumstances as children and adults that scar us in different ways. As a result, we MUST allow God to heal and restore us so that we can then experience the abundant life that Jesus made available for us.

To “wear your crown” is not only about loving you, accepting who you are or celebrating “you” but it also requires us to deal with who we are as a person. Dealing with who you are requires you to look within and consider the good, bad and the ugly. We must also be willing to put in the work to keep our lives pure and pleasing to God! Are you wearing your crown?

~WHY AM I HERE?! ~

Most of us have asked this question but if you haven’t it is about that time YOU DID. It is time to live life in purpose and on purpose. Everyone has a purpose, even those who seem to believe that their life is of no value or void of direction. We may not know every single step in God's plan but we can be sure that God is the most purposeful being and He’s got a plan for you and me!

“So there is hope for your future," declares the LORD. Jeremiah 31:17

There was a time when I used to live my life aimlessly. I would wake up every morning and do whatever I felt like doing that day; whatever I had to do to survive, I did it with a ‘poor man’s’ mentality. That type of mindset breeds only poverty IN EVERY AREA! I had NO VISION, NO DIRECTION and NO HOPE. Why was I even here? Until one day I became tired, restless, depressed and lifeless- all ingredients for mental, spiritual and possibly physical suicide. I was right where the devil wanted me (at least that is what he thought).

My friend, I had tried everything to try and cover the void and pain in me-residue that still existed from my past. With a smile on my face, hardly anyone knew what was going on in my life; BUT GOD. After being married for a few years, I was in my early twenties with two kids and an enormous mountain that seem to block any view of God’s grace and His mercy! It was like living in a maze blind-folded. With all of life’s twists and turns, ups and downs, disappointment after disappointment, I felt abandoned and hopeless.

MY THOUGHTS:

Why am I here? Am I good enough? Am I smart enough? I seem to never finish what I start. If I could just survive, I’ll be okay. This is too hard! I can never seem to get over this revolving hardship. When will it all end? Will it ever get better?

GOD’S THOUGHTS:

I have called you back from the ends of the earth, saying, 'You are my servant.' For I have chosen you and will not throw you away. Isaiah 41:9

Maybe your thoughts are a little different than what mine use to be. You may be wondering if you will ever meet the right person to marry or questioning if you will ever get pregnant. Could it be that you feel clueless to what your purpose in life is and are currently surviving instead of thriving? Maybe you are constantly being looked over for a promotion and no one seems to notice all the hard work you have been doing. Has God already shown you what you are to do for Him but things just don’t seem to be coming together? Whatever the uncertainty may be, just know that God has a plan.

“For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11

Once I began to trust that God had a plan for me and that He really did care for me and did not forget about me, things begin to come together. He began to help me heal and -as he removed the blinders from my eyes- He helped me to see that He was there all along; I was not alone or abandoned!

My life right now is far from perfect but I have direction, a vision, a purpose and I am surrounded by His grace, mercy, love and favor!

I also learned that it is okay to embrace hardship because it is then-during the hard times- when I see God the most; it was then -in the darkest hour that I came to realize that I was created by the most powerful, gentle and loving hands and that "I am" simply because HE IS! And so are you!

When we diligently seek God, He rewards us; He is faithful! If you are still wondering why you are here, just ASK! He wants to tell you.

~Trusting God When You Don't Understand~

“In his heart a man plans his course, but the LORD determines his steps.” Proverbs 16:9

How many times are we tempted to ask God “why”? When things just don’t make sense or go the way that we planned for them to go, that is when we must trust God the most. For example, Joseph experienced many opportunities where he could have easily asked, “why God” or “why me”; instead of asking God “why”, Joseph simply believed God. The situations that he was placed in –like the time when he was sold into slavery right after having a very promising dream- didn’t always make sense or seem fair. Did Joseph quit? No. He pushed past doubt and unbelief and he waited on God's deliverance.

“A man's steps are directed by the LORD. How then can anyone understand his own way?” Proverbs 20:24 NIV

In life we have experienced and will continue to find ourselves in a place where nothing seems “clear” to us. While in these places of uncertainty we must remain steadfast and unshaken while continuing to trust that God will never leave us or forsake us; therefore “All is Well and All will be Well!” If we keep the faith and maintain the right attitude we will see the manifestation of our confession.

Here is a video that sums up how and why it is important to trust God beyond our understanding. It is vitally important to daily spend time inspiring our innermost being or “spirit man” with God’s Word (the Bible) so that we are better prepared to handle every unfavorable situation that LIFE brings our way!

Created With a Purpose?

What is our purpose as a woman? Why are we here? It’s amazing how simple questions can result in complex thoughts.

Have you ever taken notice of others who seem to “just know” their purpose? Sometimes witnessing others pursue their “calling” can be encouraging but also discouraging when flustered with trying to discover our own reason for being. Maybe you feel that you don’t have a talent or just have one talent.

Well I’m here to tell you that there is more to you than the obvious and it’s time to actively display your gifts. We were never given gifts for ourselves but so that we can enhance the lives of others; in turn our lives become better because we reap what we sow. No matter what you’ve experienced in life, YOU HAVE A PURPOSE!

For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2:10

Treasure Hunt

Just only a few months ago, I began to really seek God concerning my purpose. I wasn’t always sure so I just got busy doing something. After that I started taking notes on inward desires, the things that I was good at and the things people praised me on. Additionally, I considered my childhood interests and what came easily to me i.e. teaching.

After looking at multiple pieces to the puzzle of my life, I discovered that I am an encourager, a giver, teacher and nurturer. As a little girl I always played house, school and church. And many years later, I am a wife, a mother, I’m active in ministry and I participate in many other relatable roles.

Although it sounds simple, often times connecting the dots can be difficult. Numerous times I became frustrated because it didn’t always make sense to me. On top of that there were times when I allowed my past to hinder me from seeing some of the most evident clues to what my future held. Whatever you do, don’t allow your past to dictate your future. Let go of past hurts, disappointments and failures and know that there is a future hope for you.

For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11

In 2012, if you have no clue to what your gifts are, ask those around you but be selective in the consulting process. Consider what you’re good at, what you love doing and what you did as a child. Last but not least, pray and ask God to direct you and help you discover your purpose.

If you have discovered at least one talent, use it to make a difference in the lives of others while pursuing other unknown gifts. For it is time to pick up the pace and get busy doing what you were created to do!

She needs help but doesn't know how to get it.... She craves attention from men who want her but don't want her... She gives away her personals to any man that calls for it.... She performs many carnal acts only to silence the screams from her past... Her name is mentioned among the men but only to pass her on to the next man.... All whom she looked up to and loved, renounced her, So now she relinquishes her soul and womb to these men that cradles her for their own sick fantasies.... They don't love OR like" HER"...How she performs is their concern... They use her, and she uses them to silence her past... Her womb yells for help but she ignores its screams, because mentally she's being caressed with the silencing of her past...... Her soul aches, her mind is numb, her spirit is broken, her flesh cries and bleeds along with her womb... Yet she continues on… So long as the noise of her past is silenced. She's lost and needs help... She heard of God but she calls or seeks him NOT... She cries over and over but no one hears her. She's alone again but just for a short time Because the next man is on his way to enter her womb and then it all starts over… The silencing of her past...

This Holiday Season, I'm Thankful for MY World

As women, often times we endure undue pressure to be better; the pressure is placed on us by ourselves, family, significant others and the media. So what is the issue? There is nothing wrong with self-improvement until you begin to compare yourself to others. When we make comparisons, we set ourselves up for failure. Why? Because as long as a woman compares herself, she will never see herself as being “good enough”; as a result she is usually held back and never reaches her full potential.

It’s about the value that you place on your life. Do you value yourself? Do you value your gifts and talent? Do you value your family? If your answer is yes then the follow-up question is: How much value?

For instance, I am a writer at heart. I currently have three blogs that I use to share my thoughts and experiences. Starting a blog was exciting to me and the joy of giving back by helping and encouraging others through my writing grew immensely. However, as I looked to other bloggers for advice, I began to compare my blog with theirs. Then, the fun of blogging slowly dissipated.

The lesson learned is that my style of writing is different from everyone else. And some people will appreciate my gift and some will not. Nonetheless, I realized that God has blessed me with a very distinct and inspirational talent. And if I don’t learn to value it, I risk losing it.

One way to learn to value who we are and what we have is to simply, be thankful. During this holiday season, let’s take the time to give thanks. The more thankful we are as women, the more fulfilling our lives will become. In turn, there will be no need to compare; we will learn to accept who we are.

WHERE ARE YOU?

I don’t know about anybody else but I’m surrounded by people who take pleasure in helping others. Sounds like a great circle of people in my life? Sure it is, I try my best to choose my circle of influence wisely. However, I have to wonder how many people in my circle actually take the time to love themselves. Do they take the time to take care of themselves and cater to themselves?

Now I am well aware of Mark 12:30 that states, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’^[a] ³¹ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’^[b] There is no commandment greater than these.”

I am in agreement with scripture and have decided to forever keep this scripture at the fore front of my mind to avoid becoming self-absorbed. However, where is the balance? Some people are very good at taking care of others but fail miserably when it comes to seeing about themeself. Whether they are trying to live up to someone else’s expectations or they just feel guilty about doing anything for themselves; they neglect self.

If you consider the latter part of the scripture, it tells us to love our neighbor as WE LOVE OURSELF. Most people can’t love anyone else because they have yet to love who they are! Do you like yourself? Do you love yourself? How often do you take the time to tend to your needs physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually?

If you ARE meeting your needs but not concerned about anyone else then you remain unbalanced. Self absorbance is more destructive than most will ever realize and there is a price to pay. There must be balance in this area as well.

If you do not take care of you, then you will be no good to anyone else. It may seem as though “all is well” but you will soon find your self burned-out. You may continue living this way but your attitude will become sour and your efforts ineffective. People my even request that you refrain from helping at all. (If they don’t say it, they’ll probably be thinking it!)

I am a wife, a mother of five, I home school, I am involved in ministry and I write on three inspirational blogs. I am not tooting my own horn but want you to understand that there are people who depend on me all the time. So with that said, there must be balance in my life so that I don’t fall apart and can continue to use the gifts and talents that God gave me to help and inspire others!

PROMISE KEEPER

God wants us to depend totally upon Him, not our boyfriends, husbands, mother, sister, brother or anyone else. And when we Honor God by trusting in Him, He will come through no matter what it looks like.

Here is a very inspiring testimony about a Woman whose trust in God was put to the test as she faced hardship.

PROMISE KEEPER

It was a week before pay day and I had no food in the house and no money to buy any because my ex-husband had not paid his child support that week. I didn’t know how I was going to feed my children that week. I didn’t want to borrow it and remember sitting at my kitchen table crying out to God, “You said you would always take care of me and my family. I have no money, I don’t get paid for another week what am I gonna do?” The next day at work I got a phone call from a bank that I no longer banked with. I had missed the call and called back on my break and when I called the lady told me that I had a check for $750 that had tried to post to my account but couldn’t because it was closed. She said when she seen it she thought to herself that somebody probably needs this money and instead of sending it back like she should have, she opened another account and posted it there and all I had to do was come sign some paperwork and pick it up. All I could do was shout and cry all my coworkers were looking at me like what is going on? All I could say was God is good! I want to say to you that even in your darkest hour he’s there and he hears your cry. Just like he promised me when I was pregnant at 18 with my first child that He would always take care of me and my family, that promise stands true for you too. I can say today 12 years and four children later that He still has never broken his promise.

If you live in Me [abide vitally united to Me] and My words remain in you and continue to live in your hearts, ask whatever you will, and it shall be done for you. John 15:17 Amplified

Inner Beauty, What Is It?

I believe that as women, when we learn to focus on our inner beauty we are able to enjoy life as it should be. During the next post, I really want to look at the meaning of inner beauty and what can WE as women can do to refocus on what matters most!

Leila Lopes of Angola is crowned Miss Universe

By BRADLEY BROOKS - Associated Press | AP – 2 hours 10 minutes ago

SAO PAULO (AP) — Newly crowned Miss Universe Leila Lopes wants to help her native Angola further escape a history of war and impoverishment and said she plans to focus on combating HIV around the globe.

Speaking in a timid voice early Tuesday shortly after taking the crown in South America's largest city, the 25-year-old Lopes said that "as Miss Angola I've already done a lot to help my people."

"I've worked with various social causes. I work with poor kids, I work in the fight against HIV. I work to protect the elderly and I have to do everything that my country needs," she said. "I think now as Miss Universe I will be able to do much more."

Responding to questions, Lopes said that she has never had cosmetic surgery of any kind and that her three tips for beauty were to get a lot of sleep, use sunblock even when it's not sunny and to drink lots of water. She said her smile was her best weapon in the competition.

Asked about racism in light of the fact that she's one of the few blacks ever crowned Miss Universe, Lopes said that "any racist needs to seek help."

"It's not normal in the 21st century to think in that way."

Lopes is Angola's first winner. She beat out 88 other competitors to win the title during the 60th anniversary of the world's biggest beauty pageant. She replaces last year's winner, Ximena Navarrete of Mexico.

She deftly handled the interview question that is asked of the remaining top five contestants. She was questioned about what physical trait she would change if she could.

"Thank God I'm very satisfied with the way God created me and I wouldn't change a thing," Lopes said. "I consider myself a woman endowed with inner beauty. I have acquired many wonderful principles from my family and I intend to follow these for the rest of my life."

After going through many trials and tribulations, we are often approached with negativity that causes us to feel hopeless! However, I want to encourage you to allow God to rebuild you! I've been there and when it seemed as if all hope was lost, God reached down and began to put the pieces back together! Yes, it is that simple! God is not complicated. Just ask, believe, receive and He'll do the rest! If you've turned your back on Him, He's waiting for your return so that He can restore you to BRAND NEW! BE BLESSED WOMAN!

"Lose The Unnecessary Weight"

Although I have lost 8lbs over the past 8 weeks, I’ve also lost other much needed weight. Another name for this type of weight is, ‘baggage’. Baggage can be in the form of bad advice that you’ve held onto, bad relationships, and (or) bad habits. The pounds that I’m shedding come in all three forms mentioned and I’m so excited!

Considering relationships, God has shown me what I could not see (or what I refuse to see). I don’t regret these relationships because there was a gain as well as a lost. I lost what wasn’t necessary for my journey but I gained knowledge and wisdom that came from the experience. Also from these relationships came the wrong advice and then there were times that I had some bad advice of my own.

Additionally, the habits that I formed i.e. seeking man before God or considering man’s word over God’s Word (The Bible), it was also destroying my very life. I realized that satan aided me in gaining this weight. Although people blame satan for what has happened in their lives, he has no authority in our lives except that which we give him. His goal is to steal, kill and destroy you. But I thank God that through God we can overcome the snares of the enemy.

NEVER think that it is too late no matter where you are. God has a destiny for you. If you dare to seek first the Kingdom of God, what you need to get to your destiny will be added to you. (Matthew 6:33) If you will acknowledge God in all your ways (seeking and obeying Him), He will make your path straight! (Proverbs 3:6) ALL IS NOT LOST if you allow God to make what is wrong RIGHT!

Thought Control Part 2

Astonished, Mary became speechless as she stared in Mark's eyes with disbelief. She thought to herself, "Me? Why Me? Couldn't he choose someone else? I haven't anything to offer him."As Mary snapped out of it, she softly said, "I can't, I don't want to explain but I just can't!" Swiftly Mary left the table and headed to the back of the coffee shop. As she sat down she began to contemplate what she would say to Mark when she saw him again.

Week after week, Mary did everything she could to avoid Mark. He had left her several notes about just wanting to talk to her. He wanted to express that he never meant to upset her. But it was no use, Mary refused to speak to Mark. The weeks of silence turned into months and the months into a year. Mark only wanted Mary to be happy so he dared not push her or make her feel uncomfortable by continuing to leave her notes at work. As time went by they both went on with their lives but one could only wonder what could have happen if Mary had filtered her thoughts about herself.

It's not about what you have or don't have. The clothes you wear, your style, your hair, your financial status or your background is irrelevant when it comes to defining you.It's important to have good thoughts about who you are. "As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he" Proverbs 23:7 Your thoughts control your future! Just look around at your current situation. Whatever you see before you started with a simple thought! Think about it.

Mary didn't think that she was worthy of Mark so she drove him away. She also pushed away what could have been the answer to her prayers. Maybe for you it wasn't a guy but a job or opportunity you wanted but didn't pursue because you didn't think that you were worthy of it!

Don't let your thoughts rule your life, rule your thoughts!

No Looking Back!!!!

Countless times I have looked back over my life in regret wishing that I could rewind time and change a few things or eliminate things (and people) altogether. However, I truly believe that there are things and situations that if it doesn't kill you will make you stronger. I also learned that if I continued to focus on my past, I would forfeit my future. Companies around the world take inventory of their products, especially grocery chains and clothing stores. These companies must analyze the growth and losses in order to remain profitable. As a result, reports are created that shows which products are profitable and which ones are not. If there are products that aren’t doing well, the company make assess what can be done to improve profit.

Like companies, we must constantly take inventory of the people whom we allow in our inner circle. But before we take inventory, we must be willing to be truthful with ourselves and not make excuses for holding on to people we need to let go.

There was a time in my life when my best friend made great effort to help me let go of relationship that lasted over ten years. After trying to reach out to this person, they showed no sign of interest and I had to realize that I had to move on. There is still hope of restoration but right now, my destiny is calling me forward. If I had tried to remain in the relationship any longer, I now realize that I could have possibly damaged the second most important relationship in my life. I still love this person and will be here if they need me but I must move forward and live my life. I have a calling on my life and I cannot neglect what I am destined to do and destined to become.

What you think about yourself matters. Why? Because your thoughts affect your emotions which in turn causes you to act according to how you feel.

For example, if someone thinks that they are not worthy then their emotion will reflect low self-esteem. As a result, his or her performance will always mirror less than their best. Subconsciously, this person will behave in a way that will give them results that confirm what they think about themselves.

Check out this story:

Mary, who does not like to draw attention to herself has caught the eye of a single, handsome and very wealthy young man name Mark. Routinely before work, Mark has visited the coffee shop that Mary works at for the past six months. He has always been very fond of Mary since the first day he saw her but was too shy to ask her out. Until one morning on the way to work, he decided to stop by and ask her out. He knew about what time her shift ended but he did not know that Mary struggled to take care of her ailing mother and maintain two jobs.

Mary often prayed for a husband, for she longed for companionship. However, she had no time for a social life so “Mr.Right” would have to go on a serious quest to find that she even exists. In addition to being married one day, Mary continued to dream of financial miracles that would make life easier for both her and her mother.

As Mark approached one of Mary’s tables, he nervously began to mutter the words “Will you have dinner with me?” After all, it wasn’t like they were total strangers. Over the months and after she felt safe to do so, Mary had asked many questions about him and he would humbly answer them all. She knew almost everything except where he lived. But shamefully, Mary only gave him details about the surface of her life. She did manage however, to tell him all about one of her single, best friends. Mark would listen as Mary disclosed the details her best friend, but secretly it was Mary that he was interested in.

Mark’s life was the total opposite of Mary’s. His parents was very wealthy and in good health. Mark, being a partner of a very prestigious law-firm, earned his financial status by working hard. His parents sent him to the best schools but they were very candid about not spoiling him and teaching him to work hard for a living. [To Be Continued……]

I will continue this story but in the meantime, think about the possible outcome. Mary’s thoughts about herself will determine how this story unfolds. Can you see YOU in Mary?

Dare to Dream......Again

South Carolina’s Motto: While I breathe, I hope

As long as you have life in your body, you have hope and as long as you have hope, there is potential for the manifestation of your dreams.

One of my previous dreams came to me around the age of 26. I was working at an electric company part-time. My dream was to retire before 30 so that I can be a stay-at-home mom. [Before sharing the rest of my testimony, I would like to caution you about whom you share your dreams with] However, I did not take this advice and I told my co-workers and of course they laughed and behaved in many discouraging ways. In addition to unbelieving co-workers there were many things that took place to discourage me but I held onto my dream.

Although my dream didn’t come to past right away-I held three other jobs after that job at the electric company- my dream did come true. Before the age of 30, I retired. I am currently a stay-at-home mom with five children!I give God all the glory for my dream coming to past because I could not have done it without Him.

No matter what your situation looks like, I encourage you to dream again and (or) hold onto your dreams. There is evidence all around you that someone didn’t give up on their dreams no matter what obstacles came their way. Obstacles will come but use those obstacles as opportunities to push forward and pursue your dream even more.

Who is Jaycee Lee Dugard?

Jaycee Dugard, mostly known as a woman who was once kidnapped as a little girl and held captive for many grueling years. While not making light of any part of what Jaycee endured, it is her current mindset and the place that she is in now that captured me the most.

According to her interview with Diane Sawyer, Jaycee explained how she has overcome the evil that was done to her. She not only refused to allow the man that stole her childhood to take anymore of her life by refusing to be angry towards him but she made the decision to live and not die.

It takes a woman of strength to live life purposefully after experiencing such devastating series of circumstances. It takes a woman of strength to forgive those who have wronged her. Some of you may relate to different parts of her story if not the entire story.

I wanted to share her story because I haven’t been through what Jaycee has been through. And the best candidate to encourage someone else is a person who has been through that particular situation or one similar to it. However, I can relate to being wronged and forgiving the person who wronged me.

A Strong Woman vs. A Woman of Strength

A strong woman works out everyday to keep her body in shape…
But a woman of strength builds relationships to keep her soul in shape

A strong woman isn't afraid of anything…
But a woman of strength shows courage in the midst of fear.

A strong woman won't let anyone get the better of her…
But a woman of strength gives the best of herself to everyone.

A strong woman makes mistakes and avoids the same in the future…
A woman of strength realises life's mistakes can also be unexpected blessings, and capitalises on them

A strong woman wears a look of confidence on her face…
But a woman of strength wears grace.

A strong woman has faith that she is strong enough for the journey…
But a woman of strength has faith that it is in the journey that she will become strong.

A Beautiful Flower

I love this blog because as a wife and mother of five, I can take a moment to refuel and reconnect while encouraging others to do the same. But no matter what “hat” I’m wearing, I’M A WOMAN! YOU ARE A WOMAN! We are part of God’s plan in which seedtime and harvest time never ceases! What a beautiful tool (you and I) that is used to carry out this awesome plan!!!!

How? As women our temples are used for planting and harvesting life, we nurture, we’re survivors and although delicate we’re strong enough to carry many “loads”. (The list goes on)…….

Throughout our lives, we women experience unwelcomed, undeserved and undeserved situations. However, deep down within us lies the ability to overcome. There is a seed planted within us that is only watered by love, inspiration, hope and most importantly the knowledge of who YOU are. That is why I am asking that you to create a list that describes who you are; a list that defined by you. No matter how many times you’ve failed in life, on your list you should write “winner”. Over the years, I would hear people say, “believe in you”. And I tried to believe in me but that didn’t work for me. It seemed to have worked for others, just not me. There was something else I needed, something more than just “me”. I needed a higher purpose because I could not see past my faults and imperfections. I longed to know why I was put on this earth; why I was born.

Shortly after (meaning years later), a revelation penetrated my mind beyond my natural ability to reason. Jeremiah 29:11 states: “For I know the plans I have for you”, declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. WOW!!!!! And now everyday, that purpose-like a puzzle- comes together.

This revelation helped me to believe again, it gave me hope. And I say to ALL OF YOU, know that no matter what you’ve been through or what anyone has negatively spoken over your life, YOU have a PURPOSE and a DESTINY!

BE ENCOURAGED WOMAN!

Words of Wisdom on Wednesdays!

We are spirits that live in a home called body. The most important question regarding this fact is: What are you feeding your spirit? Or, how are you nurturing your inner life? How often do you read something that is uplifting that will build you up? How often do you encourage yourself? (Please don't wait on others)

On the other hand do you starve the life within you? Do you hang around negative people? Do you hate yourself because of something you did? Do you harbor bitterness or refuse to forgive and let go? Do you focus on what you don't have rather than express gratitude for what you do have? Do you worry about the things that you can't change instead of changing what you can?

Spend time building yourself up so that in the midst of chaos, you may find peace within.

Coming Soon! The Big Reveal

Okay, so for those of you, who haven’t made a list yet, make one! If you are new to this site and are clueless to what list I’m referring to then please read the post titled “Who Am I”.

In a few days we will reveal who we are and not how others see us or try to define us but who we are! I will also post the lists of other women (including myself) from all walks of life! Currently we have readers from Brazil, Canada, the United States and Germany! So I encourage you to become a follower of the blog, comment on the posts, post your lists and continue to join me in celebrating womanhood!!!

The list that you create can be long or short. It should also include things that you cannot change. For example, I have delivered four children and -unlike many fortunate women- I have stretch marks. While I’m not complaining, I certainly would rather have them removed. (It’s just my preference) And when the “stretch mark” fairy comes to collect, she can summon the “love- handle” fairy to pay a visit as well. J

These are just some things that I have learned to accept about my physical self. How did I learn to accept it? Well first let me clear something up. I am working on the love- handles and whatever doesn’t go away I won’t mind. But the stretch marks, I now see as “gift” marks because my children are gifts! I refuse surgical removal or the hassle of trying to add anything else (like rubbing cream on my belly to lighten or remove the marks) to my to-do-list.

Although my “bonus child” whom I love dearly, did not come from me and give me stretch marks, I can probably find a few gray hairs on my head; but it’s nothing that hair coloring won’t fix!
