My baby is close to weighing 3 pounds and is over 15 inches long. This is the second week of my third trimester, and the end is in sight. It’s kinda bitter sweet because this could be my last pregnancy. I’ve always said I wanted two kids. But having more depends on what we end up with. If it’s a boy, I’ll feel like our family is complete. If we have a girl, then I’d probably want to try again. Notice the “I” in the last sentence. My hubby has a whole other plan in mind. Basically, he’s done. So, we’ll see how things play out. (wink wink)

How I’m Feeling: I’ve never been drunk before, and haven’t a clue about what a hangover feels like. But, I’ve been feeling like a truck ran over my head every morning. I’ve heard that lying flat on your back causes a change in heart rate and blood pressure. This could be the reason why I feel dizzy. Lying on my side does help a little.

Rather than getting up too quickly, I’ve got to move slowly from lying down, to sitting up, to standing up.

Unlike my first pregnancy, my nails have been peeling, so I’ve been upping my calcium intake.

It is the final stretch, and this baby will probably double or triple his/her weight between now and D-day. Can’t wait!

Career
I can be having the worse day ever. But, that all goes away as soon as that red light is on. When I’m on-air I feel like I’m connecting with the viewers. I look forward to bringing them information to get them through their day. It makes me happy when people tell me how much they love my work. It makes me know that I’ve also inspired them in some way.

Spa
My husband would say, “You spend an hour in there and walk out with nothing to show for it.” I completely disagree. Spa time for me is my private time. I get to relax and wash away all the built up stress. I come out a whole new person.

Writing has always been a big part of my life. Whether writing in a journal or writing a feature story for work, jotting down my thoughts has always been my release.

Exercising
I’ve always been involved in all sorts of activities growing up. Baseball, basketball, volleyball, softball, you name it! When anyone would ask about my favorite subject in school, gym was always at the top of my list. Before having kids, I’d run at least five miles a day.

She presented me with an unsigned Mother’s Day card with a beautiful note inside. Her dad quickly rushed into the bedroom to try and stop her from revealing her gift too soon. But he was too late, and it was fine by me.

I couldn’t have imagine any other way to start Mother’s Day. Her card was absolutely beautiful, and this coupon booklet was like the icing on the cake. With the help of her teachers, she managed to put together such a thoughtful gift. I tried to put this one to use later in the day, but that didn’t work out.

My hubby made pancakes for breakfast, surprised me with a thoughtful present, and we enjoyed the rest of the day.

The idea is to be inspired and get creative. Once in a while ya gotta make an attempt at something new. As I mentioned, I’ll be turning this into a book. So, I’m trying to get a feel of what the layout will look like.

1. I am terrified of big dogs, especially pitbulls! I was attacked by a pitbull years ago, and never got over it. But my fear of dogs didn’t start there. Ever since I was little, I’ve always been very cautious of them. It seems like I’ve been chased by dogs my whole life. I lost count! I can handle the little ones, like malteses. They’re pretty cute. If I can offer my kids any bit of advice about animals, don’t approach without getting clearance from the owner. It’s tough, but try and stay calm if you’re faced with an uncomfortable situation involving dogs.

2. I’m scared to swim. This is a tricky one because I actually kinda learned to swim in high school. I was no olympic swimmer. But I knew how to float and was okay with free-styling, until things changed one day.

I was floating on my back in my high school swim class. All of a sudden it got quiet. Out of the corner of my eye the swim teacher came over to me with a worried look on her face. I remember her saying something like, “Don’t panic! You’re in the deep end.”

Of course I panicked and she helped me back to the shallow end. Needless to say, I’ve been traumatized ever since. Despite my fear of the water, I’ve always made a promise that my  kids would learn how to swim.

3. Okay, I’ll admit it. I’m afraid of the dark (and your dad is too). I don’t know where this fear stems from. I grew up sharing a room with three siblings, and I was fine. But the minute I had my own room, I needed a night light. To this day we keep on a light at all times. I must have past along this habit because Princess always needs to have a light on too.

I guess in some weird way I feel protected, and I like to see what’s going on around me. In a way, that’s sort of how I treat life. The world can be a dark and scary place. Being a mom has allowed me to see it in a whole new light. I’ll elaborate in number 19 on my list of “30 Things My Kids Should Know About Me.”
