An outer div contains – list of tabs, all panels, div container to have content panels, and div tag for each panel. The SpryTabbedPanels use JavaScript to toggle between the tabs. Therefore, we’ll include the JavaScript code within the HTML tag. To modularize the code, we’ll create a separate JS file and link it through script tag inside head tag. This js file will define the functions related to the Tabbed Panel. Before closing the body tag, we’ll define a script tag to use JavaScript to make Tabbed Panel interactive. We’ll also link a style sheet in the head tag.

Adobe Labs provide the SpryTabbedPanels.js to use with the HTML code. You can scroll down to bottom to download the source files used in this article. Before that, we’ll illustrate the code of HTML and CSS files in this article. We recommend you not to change the file name of js and css files. However, you can modify the code as per your convenience.

Yes, you heard me right, audio cassette tapes indeed. I’m sure that not many has heard of this form of recycled art where cassette tapes are the essentials but trust me, the results are astounding. Now that taking the organic route and recycling are the ‘in’ thing, art from recycled materials have got a very appealing effect to people from all walks of life. Some youngsters nowadays might not even have seen any real audio cassette tapes, but these mini rectangular-shaped discs were once the older generation’s CD’s and thumb-drives. Most of these cassette tapes no longer function and the more obvious part – who on earth still owns a cassette player anyway?

With that in mind, creative artists from all over the world figured that rather than letting these white elephants just go to waste why not make an awesome spinoff and create art of out of junk. Thanks to their innovation, drawn portraits made of audio cassette tapes have been a blast. Singers, artists and Hollywood stars became targets of interests where their portraits become one of the members of the art from recycled cassette tapes.

The production of this form of art is by no mean an easy fit especially since articulation, patience and being precise are the core essence, a slight mistake in any stage would cause significant disfiguration towards the outcome in a whole. Well, I for one am not particularly gifted where the creation of art is concerned, but I sure enjoy its beauty. Let’s bath ourselves in the pretty things which these otherwise insignificant audio cassette tapes have got to offer.

Before applications like Dropbox, most people still did some method of cloud computing, most likely in the form of emailing themselves important documents that they would need to use on another computer. Dropbox works on this concept, adding an extreme ease of use as well as nifty additional features and creative uses.

What Is Dropbox?

Dropbox is a file hosting service that enables users to store and share files and folders over the internet with any other computer. Once account can sync with an unlimited amount of computers. The only limitation is that you can only sync one Dropbox account to your computer at a time (although there are definitely workarounds which I’ll get to soon).

Every Dropbox account starts with two free gigabytes of space. You can pay an annual fee to get more space. Dropbox also gives you ways to get more space for free, like referring new users (250 MB added for each referral) or writing a testimonial for Dropbox on your social media sites.

The Omni-Flah Drive

The most common use for Dropbox is to treat it as a type of flash drive or small external hard drive that you don’t have to carry with you. For any designer that works at an office and at home, this is extremely convenient. No longer will you have to scramble around in the morning looking for the tiny flash drive that has the extremely important project you have due for work today!

There’s something extremely revolutionary and comforting about being able to save your most important files and projects in a place where any other computer with the internet can access them. As long as Dropbox does not go down, you are golden. And even if it does go down for a few hours, automatic syncing means that you have offline copies of your Dropbox files at every computer that has your Dropbox installed.

The Public File Sharer

If you save any file in your public folder on Dropbox, you can copy the URL to your clipboard and paste the URL to anyone who needs the file (through email or instant messaging, etc.). People don’t need to have Dropbox installed to get the public file; they only need the link.

This type of sharing is similar to Mediafire, Rapidshare, or attachments in emails, but it’s nice to have it built in to your own omni-present flash drive. While the public file I uploaded is more for entertainment value , this feature has plenty of purpose for designers.

For designers, this is a great way to send clients a link of your latest prototype or mock-up design, and it is incredibly easy. Simply move any file you have in Dropbox to the “public” folder, and then just right click the file (in the Dropbox interface or in your Windows Explorer) and Dropbox will give you the option to “Copy public link.”

Ease of Use

The absolute greatest aspect of Dropbox in my opinion is its smooth and easy functionality. Not only can you add and organize files through the Dropbox interface in your browser, Dropbox works through your operating system to automatically sync up files in folders of your specification.

For example, say I have all the files I need for a design project on my desktop. To get them onto Dropbox, all I have to do is drag them and drop them into the specified Dropbox folder, and Dropbox will do all the syncing for me.

Pictured below is the product of me dropping an image into a Dropbox folder, and Dropbox syncing it. All the images with checks in the bottom left are already synced. The image with the circular arrows (that I circled in red) was syncing when I took the screenshot. The sync took about three seconds.

If any of this seems at all confusing, Dropbox explains it incredibly well when you install it on your computer. Most people don’t need any guide to Dropbox because it’s incredibly intuitive.

Shared Folder

There are a number of directions to take when it comes to Dropbox and group projects. For small projects, you can simply create a “shared” folder in your Dropbox. With shared folders, you invite other Dropbox users to have access to that folder. They can then put that shared folder into their own Dropbox account. Thus, any changes anyone makes to the folder will be applied to all.

Create a New Dropbox Account

The problem with shared folders are that they take away space from everyone’s Dropbox involved. Another common way people implement projects through Dropbox is to create an original account for the project. I know what you’re thinking: “But you said that you could only sync one Dropbox account to my computer at a time! Do I have to link and unlink to my computer every time I want to get to my own Dropbox?!?”

Dropboxen is a Dropbox addon that you can use to work around the one-account-per-computer limitation. It’s not completely stable and currently doesn’t work for Windows 7 (you’ll have to use another workaround), but it’s a convenient way to manage multiple Dropbox accounts.

There are 2 types of navigation menu:- horizontal or vertical navigation menu. Horizontal menu has became the mainstream in web design, probably due to the space limitations. This is true especially for blogs or content related websites. Although they may have vertical navigation menu at sidebar, but the primary navigation will be the horizontal menu.

We have a showcase article for navigation menu before, but we would like to focus on some tips, tricks, tutorials and some showcases of horizontal navigation menus here.

Location Of Your Navigation Menu

Let’s start with the location of your navigation menu. Where should you place your menu? There are 3 places where you can place it:-

• Top of the page, above the logo or banner.
• Beside your logo or banner.
• Below the logo or banner.

The navigation menu sits on top of the logo and content. They also use different color to represent different links and destinations.

Naming For The Links

Use common and understandable name for the links. This is exceptionally important as unusual terms will drive visitors away from your site.

There are a few standard terms such as “About or About Us”, “Portfolio”, “Contact or Contact Us”. Just make sure you follow the conventional terms and don’t be too creative!

Horizontal Menu With Drop Down Menus

If you are going to implement multi level drop down menu, make sure you place an indicator for links that will reveal drop down menu.

Another consideration when you build your multi level drop down menu is the compatibility across the major browsers. Make sure it works properly and it is not cluttered if the anchor text is too long.

Main Navigation With Other Components

Some websites do include other components such as search box or other buttons on their main navigation bar.

Make sure you clearly distinguish between the navigation links and the buttons. Navigation links shouldn’t sit at the left while other components should sit at the right hand side.

3. Go green: Living green will make people feel a sense of satisfaction in that they are helping the environment. Some basic steps to conserve energy in the office are to turn off lights when not in use, shut off computers every night, unplug unused items, and to turn the heating and air conditioning down when no one is in the office. These steps will also cause utility bills to be lower, which will create less financial stress on the boss of the company.

Bigger green projects are also an option to make an office environment more comfortable. Recycling bins can be placed at key locations for employees to use, and posters can be placed by the receptacles to explain which items can and cannot be recycled. Employers can also be sure to stock their kitchen with silverware, plates, and glasses for lunch breaks. This will cut down on the number of paper cups, plates, water bottles, and plastic ware that are used.

4. Get organized: Employees should organize their office in a way that they understand regardless of how other workers may organize their work. This will help them to become more comfortable in their space. It will also reduce unneeded stress that comes with not knowing where things are and searching for them.

5. Update technology: Employees may feel frustrated by slow computers and outdated software. Employers need to ensure that their employees are using high-quality products. If employees work from home, the proper technology must also support these virtual locations. It is also beneficial for systems to allow access to files anytime and anywhere, as this creates a sense of flexibility in the workplace.

Add Plants

6. Add plants: Plants have many benefits for an office setting. First, they brighten up dull spaces and given them life. They also release oxygen which can clean the air in the office and reduce the amount of dust pollution. Plants are also essential for an office because they alleviate allergies to toxic fumes that are common in the work place, such as office cleaning products. This helps to lower sickness rates, which can lower rates of absenteeism at work. Plants are also practical because they can help to reduce noise, provide shade, and act as partitions or barriers.

7. Make the office look welcoming: This requires the office to be opened up a bit so that the reception area does not look daunting. A small, lower desk for the receptionist will look more personable and approachable. Chairs in the reception area should also be scattered in informal groups so as to not look too cold. Additionally, partitions that divide desks that are not entirely necessary should be removed. Many studies have shown that dividing all employees into cubes does not increase work productivity. A work area that is open and those that have clear views of the others help to encourage performance.

There are several daily weekly and monthly chores you do on your blog. But believe me there’s more when you have lot of traffic to handle. Once your guest post is published you will get overwhelmed by the amount of traffic you get on your blog; which, if not utilized properly can mean no benefit from the guest post. Some of the things you must take care before your guest posts are published on other blogs are:

1. RSS subscription Setup – One main reason why people do guest bogging is to increase their own blog’s subscriber count. So once you’ve bagged a guest post on a popular blog make sure you have all the possible ways to let your visitors subscribe to RSS setup on your blog. There are many ways people can subscribe to your RSS but there is nothing like email subscription. Work on that before you get your guest post published on other blog.
2. Bring your best content forward – One other very good reason of guest blogging is making aware of your blog to new readers of the world. You may have been working on your blog for long time and would have got some really nice posts so far. Make sure you highlight those posts to the new visitors. There are many ways to do that but I would recommend two below:

6. Write about your guest post – You have a readership. People read your content so ideally they should read whatever you write and wherever you write. It’s advisable to write about your guest post on your blog. Make your readers read what you are writing. Create a backlink to the original post on your blog with some thoughts on the article you wrote on the other blog.
7. Blogroll other Blogs – Make sure you have all your and your friends’ blogs linked in the Blogroll. Visitors coming to your blog would want to see what you link to. It also increases your chance to exchange link in your niche. Because they know you can be approached for that.

On Guest Blog Work

Getting a post published on a high ranking pro blog is not the end of the story. It’s the beginning. This is where you are supposed to work hard. I have certain points in my mind about that which I have listed down below.

1. Comment on your post – This is the most important aspect of guest blogging. Its like the holy grail of your personality development on the blogosphere. So make sure you make every effort to reply to all the comments on your guest posts.
2. Comment on other Authors’ Posts – Commenting on your posts is not the only thing you should be doing on your guest blog. It is advisable to interact with other authors on the blog you got your guest post published. It will build your relationship with other bloggers and increases your chance of getting more and more guest posts. People realize and appreciate your work and invite you to write on your blog. And most important thing, when they see you commenting on their post they come and comment on your guest post. It eventually increases the pageview of your guest post.

On the web Work

1. Socialize – As per the State of the Blogosphere 2010 50% of the top bloggers around the world use 3 sites (Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter) to drive traffic to their blogs/sites. Posting is a guest post should not be the end of it. People talk about your content on internet if it’s really good. So responding to them should be your primary goal to earn that credibility in blogosphere.
2. Forums Posts – A place where everyone can shout their mind out loud. No need to wait for anyone to approve my thoughts. If used properly forums drive immense amount of traffic to your blog.
