To help people with upgrades, customization, and other questions we decided to put up a community where everyone can participate. This will be a great place to trade themes, modifications, and other changes fellow customers have made to their sites. Any customer with an active support plan can post and reply to threads. Absolutely anyone can view the forum!

If you’d like to post something, you can create your account in the members area. Just create your username immediately after logging in at the bottom of the page:

We’re excited to announce the release of webNetwork 3.0! Below are some of the features we’ve included in the new release:

Activity feeds
See what your friends are doing on the site. Similar to Facebook’s feeds where members see when their friend post new pictures, wall posts, etc.
Status feature
Lets members post what they are currently doing, and show it in their profile
Integration with Joomla CMS
Allows webNetwork to run as a component inside Joomla
Multiple file uploader
Members now have the ability to upload more than one photo at a time
New theme system
Allows you to easily create and share themes with other customers, and select from themes provided by us
New theme
New theme called Clean Blue added in addition to the orange one that comes standard
New WYSIWYG editor
Better HTML support so there are less problems while editing
Birthday WebBox
Allows users to see which of their friends have an upcoming birthday

webJobs 3.0: Resume Agents for Employers

While webJobs has had the Job Agent feature for quite some time, employers have been left out. With webJobs 3.0, employers will be able to setup Resume Agents. Employers can get e-mail alerts of newly registered job seekers based on keywords, location, experience, education, etc.

webJobs 3.0: Twitter Your Jobs

That’s right folks, webJobs is coming to a Twitter account near you! In the upcoming webJobs 3.0 release we’ll have support for Twitter job updates. Every time a new job is posted your Twitter account will be updated. Simply enter your Twitter login information into the administrative interface into your Twitter account and webJobs will tweet your newly posted jobs!

We’re excited to announce that webNetwork 3.0 is close to completion. In the final stages prior to release, we will be doing thorough bug testing to make sure everything runs smoothly when you install it. webNetwork 3.0: News feed

The upcoming release will have a news/activity feed, similar to the one in Facebook or MySpace. Once logged in, members can quickly see what their friends are doing on the site. News feed entries include notifications for when a friend uploads photos, music, videos or performs actions such as blog posts, and much more. A screenshot is included below:

webNetwork 3.0: Multiple themes

We’re excited to introduce our new theme system in webNetwork 3.0. This system will allow you to easily choose from the themes that come with our software, build a new one, or share different themes with other webNetwork customers.

To kick things off, we’ve included an all new theme with webNetwork 3.0 in addition to the orange one that normally comes with the software now. Below is a screenshot of what it will look like. Tell us what you think!

Trojan virus spreading. Are you affected?

Recently, a Trojan virus coined “Gumblar” has been spreading throughout the Internet. It works by injecting an exploit into the HTML code of a website, and downloads a program which is automatically installed on your computer (and thus infecting it with the virus). The program will then sniff out for FTP passwords that are entered, and log into those FTP accounts to infect your site with the same HTML exploit. Any users who visit your site will also be infected with this same virus, and their FTP passwords captured. Because of this vicious cycle, millions of websites have been infected.

Some of our customers have experienced the problem, and we have been fixing it as quickly as we can. The first thing you must do is scan your own computer to remove the Trojan. Then, you should change your FTP password, and begin to remove the infected code/files. webNetwork 3.0: Multiple file uploads

If you’re creating an album, it’s a tedious process to upload each photo one by one. That’s why we’ve included a photo uploader that lets you upload as many photos as you wish all at once. This is similar to Facebook’s photo uploader. Members can easily see thumbnails of all the pictures in their folder, and pick and choose which ones they wish to upload to their photo album.

phpBB3/vBulletin support in 3.0

webNetwork 3.0’s Forum plugin will support phpBB2, phpBB3, and the highly popular vBulletin software. All of the integrations will function just like before, integrating a single sign on, along with adding private forums for individual groups.
